As odd as it is to go during the day and have brunch, I would say it is the move. You pull into a plaza where everything else is closed except for this business and say hi to the security guard stationed at the entrance of the place---at 11 AM---to walk into a lounge beautifully decorated with green walls, floral accents and a disco ball. It is clear that the majority of patrons come much later in the day, like after 9 PM, to get bottle service listening to a DJ or any other performer. This would explain why the air conditioning was cranked so high, to accommodate the bodies and electricity that would pack the place much later. Our server didn't crack a smile but immediately brought us water after we asked and rounded back twice to take our order. Like I said, going during the day when there are only about 5 other parties dining seems to be the move for prompt service and food preparation. The dishes came out super hot and fresh. The Creole Seafood Omelette ($26) was chock full of well seasoned shrimp and lobster and cheese, with a creamy roux on the side that was good to occasionally dip a bite into but wasn't necessary all the time. The potatoes that came on the side were just the right amount of crispy while leaving some heartiness to them. The Fried Chicken and Waffles ($26) included flavorful fried chicken with breading that didn't quit when you tore it or cut into it. The cool part of this dish is the choice you have of the waffle it comes with. The Cookies and Cream Waffles should be your go-to. They were topped with the chocolate cookie sandwich crumbles and a great homemade vanilla icing. For a Lauderhill establishment in an area where you really don't know of anything else happening, this place is worth a venture out for your brunch. I'd go back to try the other items and drinks!

The restaurant seats more than 50. It's sleek with lots of black and red (to match its name). Except for one other table, it was practically empty on a Wednesday evening. Our first waitress was friendly. She brought our beverages and took our orders. After that, we got a different young lady. She also was cordial. (But got a bit testy when I went to find her so we could pay the check and leave.) We got the smothered chicken, smothered pork, fried chicken, three beverages, and two desserts. Let's start with the desserts. The peach cobbler crust was a bit thick and the peaches tasted like they were from a can. The red velvet cake was mediocre. Definitely not specially made. Now the sides. The corn bread was perfect. The red velvet corn bread was a treat. The greens were good. The rice was soaked in gravy. The yams were way too sweet. The entrees were the standout. The chicken only comes in wings. Nevertheless, they were seasoned and fried well, had a light breading, and were meaty. The pork chops were moist and savory. The smothered dishes weren't really smothered and could have used some more gravy, which lacked onions. But that didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying them. Dinner for 3 with 3 beverages, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was about $110. We hope to return and try the catfish, the turkey, and the liver and onions. P.S. A small group came in while we were eating and one of the diners was vaping. Isn't that illegal in restaurants? I was hoping the management would stop him. But he was there for about the last 15-20 minutes of our meal and continued to vape a few feet away from us.

The love and light…read morethat lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! And don't leave without trying the baked beans and black-eyed peas--Chef puts okra in them, and I don't want them any other way ever again. Outstanding.

During this visit, I enjoyed a glass of Prosecco along with a petite bowl, which was the perfect portion if you want to dine without feeling overly full or guilty about not finishing everything. I highly recommend securing your reservation with the $25 deposit online, as they do not offer same-day reservations. The venue itself is cozy, and every time I visit, it's packed with a line of people waiting--which speaks for itself. I truly hope they continue to grow and have the opportunity to expand. Special shoutout to Cousin Nene for the exceptional customer service and hospitality!

He greeted us at the beginning and informed us that it is a one-hour experience, but promised that the food comes quickly. And it did! We observed that the place was being run very efficiently with even the manager helping out from time to time. I had grits with cheese and fried catfish and scrambled eggs. Overall it was a delicious meal. The grits were hot, the catfish was very hot, but the scrambled eggs were just warm and parts were cool. My daughter enjoyed all of her meal. The biscuit and croissant we got at the beginning of the meal were phenomenal! When we were ready to pay the bill, our waitress read out each charge we incurred on her little hand-held billing device, which we thought was very nice. She then informed us that a 20% charge was added to our bill, and went on to explain that that is for all the staff, not just her. She said that I will have an opportunity to give her even more "tip" on the next screen as she held the device in her hand waiting for me to select an additional tip for her. I told her that I felt very pressured into giving her more money (with her standing over me watching). She still stood there showing me the screen where I am now prompted to give additional tip of 18% and HIGHER on my bill that was $110 of which 20% was already taken out as a surcharge. I felt pressured and uncomfortable. I am used to restaurants automatically charging a high gratuity for large parties, but not for two people sitting on stools (no table). I passed the machine to my daughter who unhesitatingly selected No Tip. The 20% we already paid is enough; and they may continue to call it what they may. The waitress then turned and hurried away like we now had no value. No nice parting words or anything. That experience tainted the beautiful experience we first had.

The service itself was fine, but I really feel like they could put more energy into customer service--especially when it comes to recommending specials. I ordered my usual 4-piece chicken with mashed potatoes, but honestly I was open to trying something different. After I had already ordered and was walking out the door, I noticed signs about Friday lunch specials, strips, wedges, things like that. If I had known about those, I definitely would've tried something else. That's where I felt the miss was. Either the girl or the guy behind the counter could've easily said, "Hey, here are today's specials," or suggested another option. I even told the girl I didn't know what to order and that I always get the 4-piece but wanted something different. She acknowledged it, but didn't really recommend anything else. Unfortunately, by the time I noticed the specials, it was too late,I had already placed my order and was on my way out.

I would definitely come back for this. It was wayyyy better than my experience with the wings. My only suggestion would be for them to have authentic Trini pepper sauce and Trini ketchup. Its a Trini business and those condiments are staples for Trini dishes.
