Of all the eateries and restaurants we ate at during our time in Springdale, we enjoyed the Spotted Dog Cafe the most! We had the chicken entree (amazingly flavorful!), the meatloaf, kids spaghetti with meatballs, and a Caesar salad and it was all so tasty! We were sad that this happened to be our last meal here bc if we knew we would have ate here more often! They do not pick up their phone so I suggest you go there and put in your order for takeout. The food was great, not just tourist town great, more like would stay in business and be popular in any foodie city like SF, NYC or Tokyo. Horrible food, very bland. Three of our meals arrived can cold to the touch. Second time around, food was still clean cold. Waitress rushed us. We had a reservation and they called my wife twice, texted once to confirm we we arriving on time. They included a 20% tip but didn't inform us they would do so. Our 20th Anniversary was spent here and even though my husband wanted the meatloaf he loved the trout! My lamb shank was fall off the bone. Ended with the panna cotta which was delicious. All in all I loved it. Highly recommend! read more

This place is so incredibly lovely. I went to nights the first time I had the chicken pesto pasta and the second time I had the pasta purses. I personally prefer the pasta purses every son will buy was absolutely delectable. Above all the service and the atmosphere was my favorite part. Both nights I had Ramiro who is extremely attentive and the staff that supported him insured that I had the most lovely time. I actually had such a great experience that I spoke to the manager James to let him know how impressed I was with The overall operation. My partner and I went for an evening dinner without a reservation, we were seated for two right away by the host and she was very kind. Our servers Cole and Ethan were great! They were both very attentive and patient. Overall great service. Our food was great too. We split a three course with the trout as our entree and it was phenomenal. Nice crust with a seemingly fresh piece of fish. The dessert recommendations from Ethan were good as well, so we got two. We would definitely recommend the lava cake. Outdoor and indoor seating available. We really felt this was an upscale restaurant. A perfect place after a long day in the park where you want to eat a substantial meal, not just a deli sandwich. The service was great and the wine selection was superb. The food however was overpriced for the quality, mostly in regards to the meat. The chicken on both the salad and entree were that rubbery textured chicken. I found my salad to be bland and wish the chicken was warmed. My husband had a burger and his tasted wonderful, and the fries were nice and crispy. The hummus was flavorless. Paying over $20 per dish, I had greater expectations. Try Oscars if you are in town, you won't be disappointed. read more

Wow, what a great experience, I felt like I was in Napa but a far better one Zion! We had some very basic but strong cocktails. Appetizer was some pita with the tomato a d garlic spread. We enjoyed the Hummus Platter. Vegetarian pasta with cheese was wonderful. The chicken dish and ahi tuna were killer choices. I recommend sitting in the back dining room cuz it's a nice view. Staff was slow and not consistent. Hostess was asked everyone (but us) what they were going to drink (glasses of wine, bottles, cocktails) which wasn't needed since all of that information was on the same menu. Maybe it was an off day for the Spotted Dog. We came here because of the good reviews on Yelp. We made reservations which was not necessary because the place is pretty spacious. We were seated pretty fast but it took a bit for our waiter to greet us. We ordered our appetizer, drinks, and entrees. The appetizer and the drinks came out pretty quickly but we waited a really long time for our entrees. So long that the parties that were seated after us received their entrees before we did. My pesto penne was a huge disappointment. It was really heavy, on the garlic and the pesto. It was grossly oily. All the garlic upset my stomach. It ruined my appetite. I barely ate half and didn't even touch dessert. Overall, everyone thought the food was alright. This is my second visit to Zion and I will most likely be back one day. My wife and I were excited to try the Spotted Dog Cafe after looking on yelp, but we were very disappointed. We started with a steamed artichoke, which was one of the best parts of our entire meal. My wife got the salmon, and I chose the seared ahi tuna. The fish was okay. The risotto was bland and had a very odd texture. They made the top of the risotto crispy and hardened, and the middle was gooey and bland with 1-2 chunks of shiitake mushrooms throughout. Service was horrible. It took 2 hours for the server to bring us our meals. We counted at least 3 other parties who sat down, ate, and left before we got our food. Our server told us twice it would "be right out", then started ignoring us as he walked by. At $25 per plate, you aren't getting your money's worth. Go somewhere else and save yourself the time, money, and disappointment. The best part about our meal was the free flatbread and steamed artichoke! read more

The food is over-priced and not that great. So many great restaurants in Springdale, it would be a shame for you to waste a meal here. The other disappointing thing is how little the staff knows about Zion Park, which is less than a mile away. This restaurant is a must skip! read more

Wonderful spot in a touristy town. The name sounds like something basic but their dinner menu was awesome with so many different and interesting options. Not to mention their endless selection of wines! appetizer we had yummy baked brie and apples with marmalade. Their house bread with a roasted tomato olive oil dip was also delicious. Entrees- My fiancé had the bison/beef/elk meatloaf and I had the rainbow trout both were delicious. My fish with perfectly cooked and paired nicely with wild rice. The only "complaint" I had was their butternut squash (side veggie) was a little undercooked, same with my fiancé's dish. Overall great place for dinner and friendly staff read more

Had a great birthday dinner here!! The cocktails were tasty as were the appetizers. We had the baked Brie and crab cakes both were fantastic. I ordered the short rib and my partner ordered the lamb. Both were great but I favored the lamb so we switched. Ha! Service was great, I swear the waitress we had could read our minds. She was always over within seconds of us wanting to talk to us! Absolutely delicious!! I don't *think* it's just that we spent all day hiking the Narrows after we did Angels Landing yesterday but even if it is this place hit. the. spot. We came around 5:30-6 ish and were able to get immediate seating. David, our waiter, was awesome and recommended some lovely sounding dishes. We opted for the spaghetti with meatballs, short back ribs, and pesto pasta with chicken. All three of us said the meals were so good and hit the spot perfectly. I also had the small Caesar Salad before my meal and the homemade croutons on that were very good. The portions are generous and everything seems homemade. I am really wishing I'd brought the little bit of pesto I had left back to the hotel because it was so good!! Definitely a must do when you've hiked the park all day! read more

We came here for Thanksgiving visiting from Los Angeles. The food was delicious, and if there's any traditional Thanksgiving item that you can think of, it was on this plate.
