Aziz, Dima, and Hamud did a fantastic job helping us with our local West LA move! We moved from a 2B2B condo to a 2B2.5B apartment and it took 6 hours and 45 minutes in total. They professionallly wrapped every piece of furniture and had plenty of wardrobe boxes for our clothes. They even included unmounting our TV and easily disassembled and reassembled our bed frames. We had no issues with any items being damaged or broken during the move. They also helped us place rugs in our new apartment so we didn't have to move any heavy furniture to do so. Moving is stressful enough, and this company made it way harder. It all started when they arrived and asked one of us to stand outside and watch the truck the entire time to avoid getting a ticket. I've used multiple moving companies before, and that has never happened. While we don't live in a fancy Beverly Hills house, most of our furniture is from West Elm, Pottery Barn, and includes expensive pieces like Herman Miller desks and chairs. I specifically asked the movers to use blankets and shrink wrap on items I didn't want scratched or dented. Instead of doing that, Aziz immediately snapped at me, saying he's been in the business for ten years and never had a problem with anyone. He told me to stop bothering them and let them do their job. The other mover chimed in, saying they move furniture more expensive than mine all the time with no issues. Looking back, I should have told them to either follow my instructions or leave. I had enough time to find another company that would do the job the way I wanted. But instead, Aziz spent more time talking about his decade of experience and how they had insurance that would cover any damages if they occur, rather than just using that time to carefully pack the items as requested. He made the entire move extremely stressful for me. Despite everything, I paid him in cash and even tipped him, trusting that they knew what they were doing. He reassured me that nothing would get damaged, even without blankets because they are professional movers and know how to move uncovered furnitures gently without causing any damage. But when I went back to the apartment later, I found scratches and dents on multiple pieces of furniture. I actually witnessed some of the damage myself--like when a Pottery Barn nightstand took a hit while being lifted up a curb without any padding on the trolley. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the owner of the company the next morning, frustrated and upset. Instead of understanding, he told me that customers often give "opinions" on how to do their job, but the movers don't have to listen because "they know better."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He offered to reimburse me for the nightstands at $1 per pound--which came out to $17 for both. That was incredibly disappointing. When I buy furniture, I'm not paying by the pound. Later that day, the owner and Aziz came to my house for an "investigation." They looked at the damage and claimed all of it was pre-existing, refusing to take responsibility. Aziz again brought up his ten years of experience. I told him I didn't care about his résumé--I cared about how they handled my furniture. Aziz left the conversation in frustration, and I spent another hour talking to the owner. He was more polite but still refused to accept any responsibility. He even told me Aziz didn't think the nightstands were worth more than $80, which is why he didn't bother protecting them. He was shocked to hear they cost $400 each. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner also told me I should have called him the moment Aziz refused to cooperate. But with Aziz acting like he was the one in charge and constantly mentioning his experience, I assumed he was the owner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had no idea there was someone else I could escalate to. Thankfully, I insisted that the Herman Miller chairs be completely wrapped, or they weren't going on the truck. Otherwise, they probably would've been damaged too and they would have said it was just old pre-existing scratches/dents. I heard from the owner that they like to cover desk chairs so that they can roll them versus carrying them but I did not want $2500 Herman Miller customer chairs rolling outside. To be clear: if they had done what I asked and a few minor damages happened, I would've accepted that. Accidents happen. But they flat-out refused to follow reasonable instructions and didn't take proper precautions with any of my furniture. In the end, the owner said he'd send me $100 as a "complimentary discount" without admitting fault. But $100 isn't going to fix the damage done to half my furniture. He said if I wanted more, I'd have to sue in small claims court--and warned me that judges don't care about damages from his experience from going to court because moving companies are only liable for $1 per pound. That made me think they've probably damaged furniture before and have been through this process with other customers. Bottom line: If you have anything nicer than IKEA furniture, do not hire this company. They won't take precautions, they'll argue with you, and they'll deny responsibility if anything goes wrong. If your movers from this company especially Aziz are acting arrogant and refusing to cooperate, send them home and hire someone else--which I wish I had done. Every other moving company I've worked with did exactly what I asked without attitude. These guys are cheaper for a reason, and now I understand why. read more

I stand corrected! I found the items that i thought I had lost. That said, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did still feel rushed at the end.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I suspect that the move took longer than they had planned (but I am paying by the hour and it was still within the time frame range that they had initially quoted me). There was still the snafu with the TV cable. Bottom line - I think that they are efficient and fairly careful with my items. I appreciated that they wrapped up some of the items that I had just put into baskets, and were pretty careful with my items. They were fast, efficient, and careful. However, a few suggestions: don't touch anything when they are packing. I was trying to tidy things while they were moving and they assumed that I had taken the TV power cable (it was still at my old location, and luckily I still had access so I could pick it up). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Take the initiative to ask them if you can do a final check of the truck. I felt rushed and they told me to sign the box, but didn't really give me the option to request this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] "just sign it..." I recently moved mid December about 23 miles away. I picked SQ Moving because they were bonded, insured and provided a quick response with a detailed breakdown of their pricing tiers. The day before my move they called to confirm the time frame they would come, and the next day they showed up within the time frame. Greg and Andre were the two gentlemen that showed up and they got right to boxing, packing and moving right away. They were extremely professional and methodical with how they packed the moving truck. I lived in a 850sq ft two bedroom 1 bathroom apartment over 8 years so I had a lot of things accumulated over the years. From start to finish the whole move four hours. I am so thankful for their service because there was no way I would have been able to move all the heavy furniture including my large couch, bookshelves, elliptical, queen size bed and bed frames. They disassembled and reassembled the couch and bed. They were super careful when carrying large items around the corners and they shrink wrapped everything carefully. You can tell they were very efficient and experienced. Greg and Andre were wonderful, methodical, careful and professional. They were able to handle an unexpected issue with our refrigerator size, and disassembled both my desk and our bedframe very well. My desk is more sturdy than it was prior to the move. This was the single best moving experience I have ever had, and I have had many! A crew of three showed up on time, moved swiftly and handled everything very carefully. I did not have a single broken item or scratched wall throughout the entire move. They were pleasant throughout the entire move (especially the lead guy), which is pretty remarkable because it was a VERY long day. I moved from Los Angeles to San Diego (3 bedroom/2 bathroom house), and they completed the move all in one day. Pros: efficient. Pretty quick. Cons: not personable. Broke a couple of things. I will say they got everything from point A to point B in a timely manner. Which is the whole point. But they were not personable at all. They didn't even say hi. They just said, "how much stuff do you have?" And then said nothing else the rest of the time. And they didn't wear their masks a majority of the time. Then at the end when we were paying, one of the guys looked super sickly and ran to the bathroom. We're very concerned about him since he denied all our offers to drink water. But he seemed really sick, which right now in the middle of a pandemic and him not wearing a mask...is concerning. While unpacking we had a broken glass and our couch seemed to have gotten wobbly at some point during the move. I saw them lean on it and cringe after realizing they'd pushed it too hard and made something come loose. But like...I don't know what to do about that. They saw me see them and didn't say anything still. It was our first time getting movers, and I'm happy we didn't have to move ourselves. But was it a pleasant experience? Not really. Did they get the job done? Yeah. Wow. It was a pleasure working with the SQ staff. Our friend had used them twice already and came highly recommended. Glad we listened to them! We had 3 movers for $155/hr, who were super efficient! They arrived early, got to work right away, and loaded up our 3 bedroom townhouse in 3 hours, and we have two flights of stairs (16 steps each). The drive was a half hour but is doubled for anything above 10 miles so they charged 1 hour, then took 1 hour to unload. Total of 5 hours. They are very honest and straight forward with letting you know upfront what all the charges will be. We tried offering some snacks and drinks for a short break. However they were very professional in that they accepted only water and went straight back to work. This spoke work ethics and professionalism to me. Shout out to Greg! He was very careful with all our belongings and was very patient. They all were. I have never hired movers before this, but they have definitely set the standard for their professionalism, speed without compromising care, honesty, and also some laughs. Great team! My guys did a great job on my moving!! I moved from Park La Brea to somewhere close in the same area, but it took only 3 hours and 45 mins to complete the move. My previous place was a 1BR on the 10th floor in one of the tower buildings in Park La Brea. I pf course packed and put things together before they came to my place, but I didn't think it was gonna go that smoothly. I asked them to disassemble my king-size bed, but they had no issue and also reassembled it at the new apartment. Their pricing is good. $75 per hour for cash. Because of the pricing, I could pay more tips to my movers, which makes me feel better at the same time. Stan, probably the business owner, was very good at communicating with me. I called him first, but he could answer at the moment. Right after that phone call attempt, he replied to me on the text message. Extremely happy with my move with this company. Everyone was extremely professional and accommodating from the beginning and Alex and his team were nothing shy of class acts. Alex's team handled everything with extreme care and were able to move my couch still even though it didn't fit in the elevator.
