My family of 5 ate here for the first time tonight, ordering a large cheese pizza and a dozen garlic knots. We watched as our pizza was being prepared from scratch and then baked. It was spectacular to look at when it came out of the oven and the taste was beyond compare. It was the perfect NY style pizza. The garlic knots were also top notch and were served with a tasty marinara sauce for dipping. My son-in-law also tried a slice of "Grandma's pizza" which is similar to Sicilian style pizza, but with a heartier sauce. He was very happy with the flavor and texture. Tried this New Pizza Joint thinking "pizza is just pizza". WOW!!! Was I mistaken. Completely blown away. The owner, "Auggie" is from Italy and it is completely obvious by the quality of the ingredients. First of all, the crust is second to none. Light, flaky, crispy, tasty. I was in heaven. The toppings are fresh and don't be afraid to try the white pizza with the fresh spinach. He also has these pinwheels with fresh broccoli and spinach. I'm addicted!! (So good I could almost become a vegetarian.) They also have generously sized freshly made salads at an extremely reasonable price that completely impressed my Husband. The atmosphere is squeaky clean, friendly and best of all, they play cool ass Classic Rock and Alternative music. The Classic Vespa in the window is a nice touch. It's nice to see a genuine "family" put their heart and soul into a new business. I hope they do well!! Unfortunately YELP has done this small business a disservice. They are hiding the plethora of five star reviews and left 1 star review from a total JERK who left a crap review when they were a NON CUSTOMER!!! They gave a one star review because they were closed and mopping the floors and they did not even try the food. I have been back several times. The pizza is delicious!!! I had half cheese and half jalapeño and it was very good. I hive the pizza an 8.2 out of 10. I grade hard so 8.2 is a good score. Probably the best pizza in town. My 2 year old daughter loves it too. She is hard to please. They also many other things on the menu including Philadelphia cheese steak, which I hear Is really good. Staff are very nice too. I'm a pizza snob from Brooklyn so I was willing to take a chance on a pizza maker from Brooklyn in a new business. Great decision. The pizza at St. Augie's is excellent. Excellent Pies.... by the slice too. I've been 3 times in the past month, so I think it's time to give them 5 stars. First, I LOVE their crust. Not too thick, not too thin, just right. I've had 6 different flavors now. They've all been great. My wife loves the grandma's and the stuffed veggie. Their stuffed is different than any I've ever had; they actually have the whole pie stuffed between two full crusts. It's totally covered. You really need to try this. My two favorites are the 1) Chicken Bacon Ranch and 2) The Supreme. They also have something called a Pinwheel. It's amazing. It's like a hot pizza wrap, then sliced into thick wheels. This is an excellent place for a pie. The people who own it are from NY and Italian. The chef is Augie.... St Augie. Feels like a NY pizza shop. read more

Stopped here on a whim and I am usually skeptical about NY style pizza. Especially in Florida. I grew up in the Philly/NYC areas so I like to think I know NY style pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice thin crust, sauce was really good and cheese was perfectly melted and had just the right amount. I have the possibility of maybe moving to S. Best experience on this side of town. Owners/Operators are so amazing and will treat you like family. We brought some family from out of town and they loved the pizza. We ordered a couple pies including a Hawaiian and a supreme and wow were they amazing. This place is worth the trip wherever you are or wherever you are staying . There's lots of pizza options and lots of good slices to grab in the old city but I promise you this is the best dining experience you will have. Very convenient location on the best side of king street and within walking distance of the old city. You can also park on their own lot and there's plenty of parking.
