This place is so, so cool. My cousin took me out for dinner and I had never even heard of this…read morespot. Wow, it's such a beautiful and moody spot full of charm!! We had to wait 15 minutes for a booth but I didn't mind because this place serves LOOKS. The decor was awesome! Everything from the stellar service, crispy and lacey smash burgers and gorgeous dining room(s) made me realize why this spot is always recommended to me. We were very happy with our food and it was under $50 for two people! Check out Golden Hoosier, you won't regret it.

It was more than just a few minutes before a server came over. We ordered cocktails and then got serious about choosing our meals. We eventually decided and placed our orders. We got pretzel bites and cheese to start and it was fine. Then our food came out! I think most of us got burgers. I know someone got the fried chicken sandwich and said it was good. The smash burgers were good. About half of the fries were good and the rest were overcooked. The cocktails were good! Our service could have been a little better. Our server was somewhat efficient. She wasn't overly friendly or attentive. Maybe they were short staffed but I don't know. I just know that service was lacking. There are many things to look at on the walls! If you're into taxidermy, you'll love looking at We'll probably end up back there sometime.

I absolutely love the Lafayette Square neighborhood, especially Park Avenue. As you pull up near…read morethe restaurant, you can walk past the community garden. There is street parking available and a small parking lot across from the restaurant. You can enter the restaurant at the main entrance on the corner or through the garden gate to the courtyard, but you must see the hostess for a table. Entering the courtyard patio is lovely as there is some nice landscaping and water features that make it quite tranquil. There are tables of various sizes there or you can go inside where there's standard dining tables or in yet another area is the bar. It almost feels like three restaurants in one. I highly recommend sitting out in the courtyard patio if you're able to. It really is lovely. We had a group of people and our server, Kelly, was great! She took good care of us, and made recommendations. I was really impressed with the support staff who swiftly swapped out our empty water carafes for fresh, cold ones. I started with a bloody Mary with roasted garlic vodka. It was such a unique mix of flavors and I really enjoyed it. I decided for my brunch that I would have the buttermilk pancakes and scrambled eggs. I was pleasantly surprised that they offer sugar-free syrup, if you ask. My dining companions ordered the black bean breakfast and the Florentine omelet, and everyone seemed happy with their choices. I will definitely be back.

We started with the crab cakes and chili wings and had salmon and steak frites for our entrees. Everything was really tasty and the drinks were perfectly refreshing. Highly recommend the sangria! The inside area is pretty small but the patio is large. They have it nicely set up with a relaxing fountain and lots of shade. You can make reservations online via open table too, so that's helpful during packed hours.

Can you get more St. Louis than an Irish Bar located in the Soulard area of St. Louis? I guess I…read moreshould say pub. I told my son I have never been here in my life. I ordered their pork chop, which came with asparagus and layered potatoes. The pork chop was served with a chutney sauce made from apricot, black, and golden raisins. This pork chop is somewhat unique to St. Louis; it's a huge bone-in chop, nothing in Naples, FL can compare. My chop was cooked perfectly. Now, as to never being here, I am exiting the building. There is a small dining area with an Irish band playing. I turned to my son and said I had been here before, pointed to the table I sat at, and told him I had Irish stew. It was in my drinking days, and I am sure I sang all the tunes with the band.

We were seated and it was even busier. It took some time to order drinks and even longer to order and receive our food. Nothing unreasonable especially given the sheer amount of people there. But guess what we enjoyed our table conversations while the drinks were routinely refreshed and when the food arrived it was perfect. While "just basic bar sandwiches and a burger " everything was prepared as ordered. The appropriate temps. Mostly importantly it was just good tasting. Hats off to the cooks and the service providers! Impressive

Believe or not, Beffa's has been part of the STL community for that many years and it has been owned by the same family. Be sure to sign up for the Beffa's Rewards program. They've got a great reward on your birthday. When you spend $25 at Beffa's, you get a $10 credit. It was my friend's BD and we went to Beffa's to celebrate. I was picking up the tab, but we used her rewards to save a few bucks in today's economy. To toast my BFF's birthday, I had one of the many craft beers Beffa's has on tap and the majority of them are local. With it being my friends birthday, she had a glass of Prosecco. Cheers! We both went with one of the smash burgers for our lunches. The birthday lady went with a Frisco and I chose the Pub. The Frisco was a single patty with white American cheese, Swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing on sourdough. My Pub was also a single patty with "pub" cheddar, bacon, pickle and sautéed onion on a brioche bun. I loved the crispy bacon and sautéed onions, it really made the burger. The fries were super crispy and seasoned well, with both salt & pepper. The service is always friendly and attentive. We joked as we dined, that if we knew a single young lady, we'd want to introduce her to the waiter. He was cute and had a great personality. Lucky for him, we're not matchmakers.
