It's really not that great. Partly because the service was slow. I mean 15 minutes before we can order and another 20 for the food? It's eggs and pancakes. Then they forget roast and it took another 19 minutes for that, and I had to ask the hostess. The pancakes were fine. And the Mexican omelet tasted good but came out cold. And the eggs Benedict were ok but the sauce on top kind of curled. This suggest the food was sitting ready out of the kitchen for a while before brought out. Ate at this Campbell location for the first time a few weeks ago on a Sunday. I have been to the Redwood City location several times and loved it there. This location has noticeably smaller portions. Their omelet and pancakes were pretty small, which was disappointing. The pancakes weren't as good for some reason. The Redwood City location blows this place out of the water. read more

Horrible all around. Got a choice of a bagel or fruit cup with my dish. Chose fruit but got a bagel. Alerted the waitress and she brought a plate and napkin and asked me to give her back the bagel. I was quite shocked as that is unsanitary and what are the plans for that bagel that I had breathed on already? Then she gave me a "fruit cup", in quotes because it was a condiment sized cup with 4 grapes, one of which was rotten, and a half strawberry, which was also inedible. Should have kept the bagel but it was long gone and probably given to another unsuspecting diner. Then my daughter's cottage cheese had ice clumps in it. All of this gross food for a whopping $64 for 3. When we got to the restaurant, I was expecting a large crowd and line out the door like it used to be. I've been here so many times. Nope, there were plenty of tables. Now I know why, this place has gone way downhill and I won't be returning. Black Bear Diner is way better in every aspect. read more

Every time I've come to have breakfast here there's always a line! Thank goodness enough stores are opening up in downtown Campbell, where we were able to put in our name and then walk around. Nice 40 minute walk while we waited for our table. I'm not a big meat eater and wanted to do something somewhat healthy as well as something sweet. We ended up sharing a breakfast sandwich and took out some sort of pork meat and added avocado along with the cheese and it was delicious! I was a little disappointed with the "potatoes. "Because I thought they were going to be country potatoes, their potatoes look more like hashbrowns. Lol I love hashbrowns, but in the description on the menu, it doesn't say anything about them being seasoned. I felt bad for the server and didn't want to half to have the chef remake the food. I have food allergies and I'm allergic to mono sodium glutamate. The server said they use an all season salt. For those of you that don't know, that basically means MSG in a can!!! Sadly, I couldn't eat the country potatoes/hashbrowns with the seasoning, due to the menu not fully detailing what was being presented. The banana pecan waffles were simply divine!! Warm soft and crispy and there was literally two whole bananas on the plate!! I only knew there was two whole bananas because each end of the banana had that little funky seed. Lol I picked it out and ate the rest and I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of pecans that came inside the waffle as well as sprinkled on top!! They offer great outdoor seating and it's very dog-friendly. As much as I used to love this spot, today was just ok. Our server was good- really nice and quick. However, I ordered the vegan burger (which the menu said would have vegan cheese) and it came with what was clearly dairy cheese. I checked with the waitress to make sure, and she confirmed that it was non-vegan Jack cheese. She didn't seem to see any issue with this, either. We decided it was finally time to venture out into this semi-post-COVID world and actually dine-in at a restaurant. And since breakfast is one of the three most important meals of the day, we decided to celebrate this at occasion at Stacks! Stacks was surprisingly busy on a Friday morning, so I guess our weekday breakfast idea wasn't exactly original. After a 20 minute wait, we were seated at an outside table. We looked over the menu and decided to order and split 2 entrees. Chicken fried steak, with 2 over easy eggs, breakfast potatoes, and a bagel. I haven't had chicken fried steak many times in my life, but I thought it was really good! On the other hand, the lemon raspberry ricotta pancakes were meh. The pancakes were dry and the lemon flavor was not in pancakes, but in the ricotta topping. I washed everything down with a strawberry lemonade, which was pretty good, but a little watered down. Came here the day after Xmas for breakfast. It was a 25 min inside so we opted for an outside table. We were seated at an outdoor table and waited forever to get a server. If i have known that's the case, we would have waited for inside table instead of sitting outside in the cold. Finally, we were able to put in our order and after a long wait again, we got one out of the three entrees. I finished my food while the other two starred. Another 10 mins later, they got their food. The veggies in the omelette were undercooked and you could tell they came from a package or can. They also had things in their menu that they don't serve and when I tried ordering one of them the server got confused then came back a minute later to say they didn't have that item. Also their portions are HUGE. We were seated right next to the bussing area and I was shocked at the amount of food being thrown away because people were not eating everything on their plates. I did the same. They gave me a bagel with my order (that I didn't want and wasn't on the menu)--would have been nice but it was just so gross. Dripping in oily butter. I tried one bite and couldn't do it. My server was nice but inattentive. Not really a big deal but just kinda weird since they walked by us multiple times and didn't even look at our table. Took a while to order and a while to get our check despite food coming out at a fast-food-restaurant pace. The manager came by to help twice and he was nice too. The place looks like a diner. I am in love with the California Benedict, it is honestly a MUST if you ever decide to come here. Ordered the traditional breakfast sandwich with sourdough. Portion wise, I thought it was decent. The toast was indeed toasty, bacon was crispy, and eggs were cooked perfectly to my taste. Hash browns that came with the order lacked flavor and was on the dry side. Also had a small glass of their regular mimosa and was quite tart and tasty. Service was quick and efficient but noticed that one of the staff that helped our waiter was quite rude when passing out our orders. My cousin opted for indoor because wait time was shorter. I had tried the strawberry Nutella French toast and the veggie omelette. I wanted to try something different this time around. I ordered the pesto omelette with chicken and a side of hash browns and whole wheat toast. I love pesto so I really wanted to try it out. The omelette was delicious. Chicken wasn't dry and I love the melted Jack cheese. Nothing special about the toast. Not really a fan of the hash browns. My cousin ordered the eggs Benedict with a fruit cup and whole wheat toast. She wasn't thrilled when she got her food. She did finish it so it wasn't all bad! She never got her fruit cup. Although she realized it after she finished her food. Came on a Monday around 10:30am and this place was poppin'. Lots of options for everyone on their menu. We ordered the NY steak and eggs, and the chicken fried steak. Both options came with potatoes, as well as egg cooked how you wanted it, and either fruit or bagel. I ordered my NY steak with scrambled eggs, but somehow it came with over easy eggs instead of the scrambled, which was fine, I like over easy eggs too. The portions are very generous and the NY steak was cooked how I asked for - medium. The Chicken fried steak was good with a good amount of crunch and gravy on it. The fruit cup is a small cup of fruit. The coffee we ordered came out hot but seemed very watered down. The service was painfully slow, from the coffee order showing up, to any check on the table, to getting the check paid for, and the food showing up. I feel like the positive reviews on here are either people with no idea what "good" food is supposed to taste like or they're paid reviewers because the food here is absolutely disgusting. We had the California Benedict: bunch of greasy stir fried veggies on a stale English muffin topped by what was supposed to be an egg over easy but turned out to be just an egg white which was topped with the worst tasting hollandaise sauce I've ever tasted and I've had Denny's benedicts. My son had the Lumberjack pancakes: They use wheat germ for some reason which made the pancakes taste semi sour. He said he wished we had just gone to Denny's. Hes a teenage boy who will eat just about anything and he couldn't even eat half of one because he said it gross. Wife had Steak and Eggs with sweet potato fries: Steak was overcooked, greasy and tasteless. She said the eggs were ok but in this dish it's the steak thats supposed to shine not the eggs. They placed the greasy steak on top of the fries which ruined the fries because they were now soaked in grease. To top it off they were undercooked. Thats 3 for 3 bad meals and the place was not even busy. The wife said she would have rather we rolled the dice with the ecoli laced food at McDonald's than eat here. Great breakfast food. Great pancakes! Walked in around 11am on Saturday morning and there was a short wait for seating inside, so we ended up at the counter. The waitress and staff were all very friendly. My boyfriend and I split the Hot Links Omelette (side of fruit) and Wheat Germ Pancakes. The omelette was good, but it didn't look like the pictures on Yelp that we had seen before. I liked the omelette, but not my favorite one that I've had there before. The side options are bagel, toast or fruit. I got the fruit cup, but I wish I hadn't because it wasn't great. I've had the bagel before and it's really tasty, so I would recommend that over the fruit cup. When you get the hash browns, I would recommend asking for them well done or crispy because they weren't crispy enough for me this morning (well seasoned though!). We also split the Wheat Germ pancakes which are some of my favorite pancakes around. They're a bit nutty and have that delicious wheat-y flavor. Yum! They look a little different from the standard buttermilk pancakes, but I highly recommend them.
