Honestly this place is pretty average and not worth the long lines and wait. They only have one cashier taking orders, the other one seems to be for phone calls/Togo only, hence the extremely long wait times. We waited about 45 min in line on a Saturday morning. I ordered three items: garden crepe, eggs Benedict, and Oreo pancakes. Garden crepe: probably the only item that I liked. Crepe was fluffy, eggs and vegetables inside were solid. Eggs Benedict: EXTREMELY disappointing!!! They over cooked the poached eggs so that the egg whites were already firm and the yolk was not runny at all!!! The yolk was probably the consistency of somewhere between a half boiled egg to hard boiled egg. Also when it was served the muffin was already soggy??? Definitely the worst eggs Benedict I have probably ever eaten Oreo pancakes: I got this because it had a Star next to it which probably means it's a best seller or really popular or something. Still a few kinks to work out with managing the line to order and overall service/forgetting part of the order. You get in line, you're given a table # and don't sit down until after you order. That's just smart as it doesn't tie up tables prematurely. They have a generous regular menu plus daily specials. They have Mexican Hot Chocolate-hot or cold- yum! Ask for boysenberry and/or coconut syrup to go with pancakes, it's not on all the tables, although maple is. All syrups are delicious. We ordered veggie omelette; Benedict Florentine, w/pancake sides; and fried rice with 2 fried eggs, side of fruit. This place is so badly needed in Irvine. How can a city of 300,000 people have so few breakfast spots! Well I guess it's the high population of Asian, and they don't like to eat breakfast in this way. ( I can say that, cause I'm Asian) Come early and be patient, there will likely be a well deserved line. The menu is pretty diverse, and if you look at the pics, there are more items than just pancakes. The menu has a little Hawaiian flair with the spam, loco moco and Portuguese sausage. All of the food was good. They have a really nice griddle, because my spam was evenly crisped and the potatoes were too! Pancakes were just above average, which was kinda surprising due to the name, but everything else looked great. Will certainly go back and try other dishes. That waffle was Devine, a sugar attack but hey they say "sweets are good for the heart". I ordered the Loco Moco, this dish really confused me. I came to this establishment with my family on Memorial Day for breakfast and what a glorious decision it was. Yes, the place IS snug. I arrived here at around 8-8:30 am and there was a moderate line with many people opting for outside seating rather than indoor. I ordered the Loco Moco with fried rice because I am a sucker for Loco Mocos and my sister got the Fried Chicken and Waffle. And let me tell you- it was an amazing sensation of culinary delight. Let's break it down. The Loco Moco was your standard- I chose a beef patty because come on how you gonna change up perfection?? The gravy that coated the patty proved to be the glue that stuck all these flavors together. From the tastiness of the beef and the gooey ness of the egg yolks, man this was the real deal. As a self proclaimed Loco Moco connoisseur, this dish passes with flying colors for me. But hold on we're not done. The Fried Chicken and Waffle was not your average chicken and waffles. The chicken was battered and fried katsu style to provide a nice, light crispness that complimented the meats juiciness. And top that off with thick bacon coated with cheese and a delectable spicy mayo testing on top of a beautifully done waffle- oh man I was honestly regretting that I didn't order this. Do not get the burrito; it's not worth it and it barely has anything it in. It needs more meat inside. Well the pancakes were fluffy, but it wasn't very macadamia. They added some nuts to it, but the banana definitely overpowers the entire pancake. It needs something else to make it special. I won't be getting this again either. Boy is this place popular! This is a new business in Irvine, and already it's garnered a lot of business. I arrived at 10:30 AM, and there was a line out the door. The total wait was up to an hour. I personally waited for closer to 45 minutes. During the wait, they had great customer service with a waiter walking up and down the line every so often offering water. When we get closer to the front (but not at the register yet), they take the number of party members and tell you the table number you're assigned. They offer outdoor and indoor seating. Once you pay, you find your table. Remember the table number you're assigned so that you can tell the cashier. We got the mac'nut banana pancakes (3 stack) and trio omelette with a side of pancakes (3 stack). The wait time for food was just minutes. They really hustle to deliver your food. The omelette came out first, followed by the pancakes. The trio omelette had 3 types of meat, Portuguese sausage being one of them. It was the most flavorful for sure. I thought the omelette was a good serving size. Usually, I find omelettes to be incredibly gargantuan. The pancakes had a good thickness to them, and had nice texture. This place's pancakes trumps IHOP. The mac'nut banana pancakes is one of the popular dishes. On the menu, the popular dishes are marked with a star. These pancaked had chopped macadamia nuts and sliced bananas in the pancake. It is topped with a light dusting of powdered sugar, but no fresh banana or nuts sadly. Its all in the pancake. I would suggest the business to add bananas and nuts on top. It also comes with a big dollop of butter in a separate cup. Both dishes were each in the $8-$10 range. A little pricey for my preference, but you get a good, filling breakfast. I couldn't finish my 3 pancakes. The parking lot is crazy mayhem. Stacks shares the lot with Trader Joe's, Starbucks, Curry House, a bank, and other businesses so it is very popular. Depending on luck and time of day, be patient trying to find parking. I'm not very picky in general... but I was upset that the eggs on Benedict clearly came from a mold, and were not poached. That's whole point of the dish. The mold makes them SUPER over cooked and rubbery. I have that mold at home-I went to a restaurant to eat an actually poached egg. On top of that, the pork was straight up pink. Looked and tasted rather undercooked and I was nervous to eat it, so I only had a few bits. Honestly one of the worst eggs Benedict's I've ever had. Everything else tasted fine.
