Stopped by Stag Bar + Kitchen after our beach trip today for a quick lunch and some drinks. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived around 2pm and we proceeded to sit ourselves. The waitress/bartender came over and gave us a menu, explained the happy hour, and then gave us some time to make a decision. Their happy hour me u consisted of 50% selected appetizers , $5 personal pizza, $8 old fashion, $2 off draf beers, and a bunch of other great choices. I ordered a personal pizza w/ pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeños. My friend ordered the pepperoni and mushroom pizza. We also shared an order of buffalo wings and antipasta salad. For drinks we got the melon punch and the zipper. Drinks were both good. The melon punch was definitely a bit stronger than the zipper. The zipper tasted a bit watered down. The Buffalo chicken wings were dry. I wish they had a little bit more sauce and was not overcooked to the point where the meat was a little tough. Both personal pizzas were delicious and their antipasta salads could have used a bit more dressing. The ambiance was super chill and staff were friendly. read more

Horrendous experience because of one bartender. Came late night, around 10pm, first impressions and ambiance was decent. Unfortunately, after two rounds of a disgustingly mixed drink, I visited the bar to kindly ask for a remake or exchange. I was met with immense rudeness. Cherry (or sherry) the bartender met my request with rude and disrespectful words that meant "either buy another drink or f**k off, it's not my problem." I have never experienced such disrespect at any establishment. Will not be coming back. Please employ service workers who are hospitable, not those who are so rude as to not only swear and scold a patron but also speak rude remarks to coworkers right infront of our faces! read more

Popped in for a Sunday funday to watch some football! Haven't been to STAG in a while. Upon walking in the bouncer kindly asked what game we were looking for and pointed us in the right direction for the game. Then Kelly and Amanda took great care of us behind the bar. I rarely go out and rarely write reviews but I had to write a review because of how incredible the staff here is!! Shout out Nick, the security guard!! I was waiting in line and some guy was aggressively hitting on me and it was honestly making me uncomfy. I was thinking this is legit why I don't go out. And just as I was regretting my decision Nick stepped in. Nick came in and told the guy to give me some space and luckily the guy listened!! The rest of the night was great. Where's the grease? Everywhere! My fries are in a pool of grease. My burger was so greasy the buns were soaked through. Our pizza looks like soup. AWFUL experience 10/24 Women beware of the bouncers! Absolute creeps! Touched me, denied it happened, then threatened that I'm going to be touched anyways!! I'm a 23 yr old woman who was completely sober walking into Stag with a group of girls. A man came up behind me and touched/grabbed my waist in passing, I said under my breath "Ope don't touch me". (Not directed at anybody, just said it to myself). The bouncer I was speaking with then pulled my ID back and gave me a lecture about how "It's a bar and I'm going to get touched" and then when I explained that my waist was grabbed (very calmly, no arguing or yelling) he goes on to say "well I don't believe you, so". I am so disgusted by the way he spoke to me. Talked to me like I was a child being scolded, beyond condescending and rude... not to mention insinuated that I would be "touched" inside the bar regardless which is beyond inappropriate. About 5'8-5'10, white (?), black hair with black beard. Working on the right side of the doors about 10:30pm Friday night. So gross, my friends even heard the way he spoke to me. Will never be going back!! To the managers, do yourself a favor and write this creep up. - Forgot to mention, the man who touched me was (and this is a quote from the condescending bouncer) "one of his security guards" so...do what you will with that. Def had a mixed experience here! My drink was really good, but the ambiance wasn't great. Music was a bit too loud, hard to hear my friends talk. And it was a weeknight, and someone was belligerently yelling for a few minutes too. Most importantly, we ordered vegetarian nachos - my boyfriend could not eat meat for religious reasons that day. Waitress brought us chicken nachos, we were super hungry so we just started eating and didn't notice, and she came by when we were nearly half way done and was like, oops so sorry - then switched them with the vegetarian ones. This is our "go to" spot when our sales team comes into town. Steve is the absolute best. This is our 4th visit and every time I bring a team of 10-15 people, Steve greets us with the biggest welcome and smile!! He immediately takes care of our drink orders, our food order which is always way too much food, but regardless, the food comes out promptly and did I not mention Steve also makes fabulous drinks!! And the food is always great. We feel like we are the only guests in house for sure! We are making this one of our regular spots to visit when the team is in town. Fun place so chill and drink for an hour or two. They have a loooong bar with stools and tvs behind the bar for entertainment. They also have two pool tables, which are very popular and fun! The vibe is definitely old school. The service was just okay. We had to always fetch the bartenders as they were busy and never seemed to look our way. Perhaps because we were at the end of the bar? They have an extensive beverage offering. I had a margarita which was pretty good, so I had a second lol. Where to start... we'll was here on a Sunday morning for brunch after leaving the airport and was so glad with the choice. It was fairly empty when we arrived but quickly started getting a crowd after we had sat down. It was early so the Bartender Ellery was by himself and covering the whole place. He did great and provided an outstanding guest experience. It is your typical old school Newport vibe inside. Walking in immediately brought me back to coming down to Newport area in the 90's. So the Sunday brunch was pretty darn good. Ordered the steak/egg/potatoes and my wife ordered the chilaquiles. The steak was topped with chimichurri and the flavor was amazing. The drinks we got were outstanding as well getting a Bloody Mary and a Kentucky mule. Prices were good and brunch with drinks only ran us about $50. Highly recommend coming here for a Sunday morning bite. read more

Came in for the 1st time!! We have been coming to Newport for 7 years and have never tried this place. We happen to come in on a Tuesday. It just so happens the 16" pizzas are all 1/2 off. Came here on Saturday afternoon on St. Patrick's Day so it was busyyyyy and you can tell they are doing the best they could to keep everyone comfortable and entertained. I didn't order food and we were just getting beers but their service was pretty great! The fight was happening and there were plenty of TVs to watch it from so it was not too bad. My one con is that it was HOT in there. Granted there were a lot of people, but it was just very humid and hot and it definitely affected our want to stay. I was with a group so we decided not to linger there because we had a few people who were getting uncomfortable. I'm hoping to come back and experience Stag in its full glory!
