    Creamy Double Matcha Latte
    Maria A.

First time ever trying a double matcha latte in LA and Stagger really set the tone and hype on this! They truly were the OG in creating the double matcha cream top. My friend and I got both the Creamy Double Matcha and the donut latte and they were both so so delicious! The double matcha was creamy and refreshing and quite the trend setter, while the donut latte was good quality coffee. Definitely would recommend coming here and it does get packed so expect a line out the door always. Parking available but can get packed real quick. Spacious cafe with a few outlets here and there, but does get pretty busy with a lot of people. Matcha cookies were also so yummy :)

Stagger was recommended by a friend who lives in LA. Expect long lines, pretty much around the clock. We waited about 20 minutes outside, then another 10 inside. Once our orders were placed, thankfully, the wait for the drinks themselves was much shorter. The drinks were good, but not quite 5-star caliber. The matcha, while advertised as ceremonial-grade and carefully crafted, still hinted on the bitter side. Perhaps it was just the particular batch that day? Surprisingly, our best drink order of the day was the strawberry milk they made for our daughter. I don't even think it's on the menu. They appeared to use the same house-made strawberry from their Strawberry Matcha and simply made her a milk with it. Whatever they did, that thing was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I would've ordered one for myself had I known how good it was. Extra kudos to them for making it for her. IMO, I can understand the popularity, but I wouldn't brave the long line again for just the matcha.

First timer trying Stagger and was intrigued to try their new drink (pumpkin pie matcha). I was so surprised how the pumpkin complimented the matcha. It was delicious and the quality of the matcha is really smooth. The parking wasn't so bad since we got vallet. Vallet was $3 dollars in cash and $4 dollars via zelle.

Very busy drink spot! Parking here isn't the best so keep that in mind. The line was out the door but it was moving quickly! I ordered the double hojicha and it was the best/creamiest hojicha I have ever had. My friends ordered the cream top coffee. Personally I wasn't a fan of it.

I'm not a big fan of matcha, but I had been curious about Stagger Coffee, which is right next to Gupojip, a restaurant I go to all the time. I always see a really long line of people waiting outside, so I had been thinking that I should give it a try sometime. Well, I finally went this morning. I heard that Stagger is one of the coffee shops in K-town LA that is really well known for matcha, along with Rok. ( I've been to Rok Cafe twice already, so today I decided to try the matcha at Stagger instead.) I'm the kind of person who can't stand being curious about something without finding out for myself, I always have to try a restaurant if I hear that it's famous, and if there's a book or a movie that I'm curious about, I have to read it or watch it! I went around 11 am this morning, and there was still a pretty long line. Fortunately, the line moved fairly quickly, so I didn't have to wait too long and was able to place my order pretty quickly. Since their matcha is supposed to be famous, I ordered a matcha latte. I was a little disappointed to find out that they don't have a decaf version and don't offer non-fat milk either. So I ordered a regular matcha latte with almond milk and no ice. (At first, I asked for very light ice, but I changed my mind right away and asked for no ice.) I really don't like it when coffee or matcha has a ton of ice because it melts and mixes with the drink, making it taste watered down. So whenever possible, I usually order my drinks with no ice or just a tiny bit of ice. The matcha here had a slightly bitter taste, but you could really taste the natural, distinctive flavor of matcha. I actually liked that it wasn't overly sweet and had that slightly bitter, authentic matcha flavor. The staff here were also very friendly, which I really liked. After I picked up my iced (cold, but not ice) matcha latte, I went back to the cashier and asked if there was an outlet where I could charge my cellphone. The cashier looked a little confused and asked, "An outlet?" Then another woman who was standing next to the cashier told me that there was an outlet at one of the tables in the corner where I could charge my phone. I thanked her and sat there charging my phone while enjoying my iced matcha latte. There is only one restroom here, and it's a gender-neutral restroom. If you really love matcha, I would definitely recommend this place because the distinctive flavor of the matcha really comes through in their latte. But for me, I'm satisfied with trying it once today. There are still so many other coffee shops I want to try in the future! Note 1) : I think they should let customers know in advance that they don't offer non-fat milk and that ordering almond milk costs an additional $0.75. Note 2) : Also, when I ordered my matcha latte with no ice, they only filled the cup about halfway, which I really didn't like either. Note 3) : Also, since this place only offers valet parking, I don't think it's really worth coming all the way here and paying for valet just to have a matcha latte or a cup of coffee. There aren't many places to find street parking in this area either, so you pretty much have to use the valet parking or find street parking. The parking area at the mall is also extremely small.

The hype was real! I got the double matcha and it was so creamy and rich. Highly recommend getting the drink. There was a lot of ice, but overall it was worth it for the price and taste ($7.50). We went on a weekday and the line wasn't long. We were also lucky to find street parking.

    Sharen H.

Went on a Saturday and the line wasn't too bad--it moved pretty quickly! They even provided umbrellas while we waited since it was so hot. The parking situation was a bit difficult so our friend had to drop us off and pick us up after we got our drinks since there was no parking. They have plenty of indoor seating, but it was all taken when we visited, and it can get pretty loud inside, so it may not be the best spot for studying or working if you prefer somewhere quieter. We got the Double Matcha and their seasonal Lychee Matcha, and both were delicious. I'd never had lychee matcha before, so it was a fun and interesting combination. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try! :)

Very pleasantly surprised by the Coconut Matcha. I was originally not going to get this drink as I wasn't sure how matcha would taste with coconut water but I'm so glad I did. It turns out it tastes amazing. It is definitely on the sweeter side, which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. I tried my date's Strawberry Matcha, which was also good but it's creamier due to the milk and mine just felt more refreshing to drink. When they first opened in Oct 2024, I also had a Chai Latte from here. Not particularly memorable and would recommend just sticking to their matcha drinks. There is valet but the lot is so cramped that I'd rather try my luck at street parking. Inside is very aesthetically-pleasing with multiple tables and a fair amount of seating. Everything is almost always taken all the time though. I will definitely be back despite the awful parking situation.

I love stagger, especially the jasmine matcha. I visited LA and I never knew there were so many matcha spots. The jasmine matcha was definitely a twist from the matcha lattes that I've been trying. The jasmine tea was very floral and it has a subtly strong tea taste that is balanced well by the matcha and milk. It was so good I had to go back and get it a second time while I was down there for school. I also love the aesthetics of the cafe. Tip: go early in the mornings because apparently it gets busier later on according to my friend, I was still able to find parking whenever I went

The first double matcha I've ever had and still my favorite. The matcha cream is to die for and I'm sure it's like 1,000 calories but it's oh so worth it. No wait on a Wednesday at 2pm but I remember weekends it being pretty bad, not sure if it's better now that the hype has gone down Crappy ktown parking per usual Staff is super friendly xoxo I love the interior of this shop as well!

I tried the Berry Blood Orange Matcha. The matcha had a smooth, creamy texture, but the citrus pairing was unexpected for me and sweeter than I expected.

Stagger has a clean aesthetic. Very similar to many other coffee/matcha shops lately. White, minimalistic with wood accenta. On a Saturday morning, they were already packed. Matcha isn't bad. they are on the sweeter side. The obvious downside to this place is the parking situation.

Top 3 matchas in LA for sure. Stagger takes the cake with their double matcha. Super creamy with the perfect matcha flavor and color. The service is efficient and while it was fairly busy for a weekday, there is still plenty of seating inside. I'd definitely recommend!

I explained that Yelp has an "Order" section that directs customers to DoorDash, where a chai is listed as an available item. Instead of simply explaining the situation, he was condescending and insisted that they were not affiliated with DoorDash. The employee making the coffee eventually had to step in and explain that they used to accept DoorDash orders but stopped about a year ago. If that's the case, this is clearly something the business needs to address. Their Yelp listing is still directing customers to DoorDash, creating confusion about what they actually offer and where they can order from. Mistakes happen, but there was absolutely no reason for the front employee to be so dismissive or condescending when I was simply trying to order something that their own Yelp listing indicated was available. Updating the DoorDash information would be a good start, and so would treating customers with a little more courtesy.
