Thanks to all my Yelpers I found this place and it was amazing. A great selection of teas(I don't drink coffee) and I got they steeped my tea in a teapot. I got the Stanley classic and truly enjoyed the potatoes. Unfortunately I didn't know the eggs would be that egg substitute or something. I would have requested real eggs. I enjoyed my breakfast. And the atmosphere was wonderful with the cool music playing in the back just loud enough to hear over the many diners and there conversations. I could have sat in there all day drinking tea, listening to the music, and relaxing. And I can not forget our waitress Miss Evana, she was wonderfully knowledgeable about the food and how it is prepared. Which came in handy because my friend has lots of food allergies. read more

Im convinced that New Orleans has the best food- but this place was definitely my favorite one there so far! Everything we ordered for brunch tasted phenomenal, and the Bloody Mary came with these delicious pickled stringed green beans that everyone needs to try at least once in their life, ugh so good. Stumbled upon this masterpiece while trolling Yelp for a not-so-touristy spot before our gallery spree. I can't say it's free of tourists-you are in the center of Nola, but the food was incredible! I had the soft shell crab breakfast, which looked mighty on the menu-but ended up being just enough to fill my tummy for the afternoon. The bottomless coffee was piping hot and strong. While waiting for an event at a nearby museum we stopped her (mainly for the air conditioning) and were blown away. This place looks incredibly charming and exactly what I imagined a restaurant in New Orleans would look like. High ceilings, dark wood, huge windows with great views of the French Quarter. After we cooled off with a drink we realized we actually were hungry. We tried the PO boy slider sampler plate, fantastic. And the jambalaya, which was a meaty, smoky delight. While there we asked about an amazing mystery food smell that we couldn't ignore. It was their breakfast potatoes, I guess they were either cooking them for the next day or serve them all day. I ordered the caesar salad and added chicken for 4 dollars and requested potato salad. The chicken is extra for 4 dollars. It salad was a lighter full sized portion, good dressing, The chicken was freshly grilled and was like a 1/3 breast portion. So small for some, It did fill me up. I ordered an side portion of potato salad that never came. I think I paid for it and order ice team which was unsweetened which I prefer. The menu is full of ice cream options with no other dessert alternatives. I would go again here. Just keep an eye on your tab and whats delivered. I love Stanley. ALMOST perfect! I had the soft shell crab poboy and my hubby had eggs benedict with fried oysters. My hubby said he felt under the weather...that is good thing for me. I wanted him to be sick with no appetite to have an excuse to eat his meal too. Didn't work- Stanley food is so yummy- makes a sick man recover in record time!! The bread on the poboy was perfectly toasted, not too thick...the size of the poboy was generous! I am a fan of cold/hot combos- the hot crab bursts with flavor to be met with the cold cole slaw....YUMMY & YUMMY! My hubby and I split our entrees, and I enjoyed the eggs benedict as well but it was hard to follow the crab poboy. My only complaint was the waitress never refilled our coffee and water. Great location, even if there is a wait they take your phone number so you can checkout the shops and atmosphere at Jackson square. The service we received was good but not smiley. When I asked the waiter what vegetarian options they had, he scoffed and proceeded to tell the table of mostly New Orleans natives that there's no vegetarian options in this town. I didn't tell him about the vegan red beans at 807 Royal, the vegan po boys at Erin Rose, or the million veg options at Green Goddess, 13, and Meals from the Heart -- because I thought that would be rude. If you have been searching for the perfect bacon cheeseburger, Stanley's has it! OMFG!!!!!!!!!! The Stanley 77, I think it's called, is the most delicious burger I've ever had in my life. It's got that *BOOM* that most burgers lack - moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked, with a bun that has to come strait from heaven. Old guy I was with aka my husband, had the half and half poor boy and he gives it a 4 out of 5 stars. Said he would have liked tomato on it...He puts tomatoes on his tomatoes... Came here on a lark for brunch. It was a good find around Jackson Square in a sea of chains and uninspired places. Sat at the bar and the waiter was helpful. Still for a soda bar, it felt a little weird getting coffee. Maybe it's that Southern tradition of having soda for breakfast. The food was good. Ordered a Poached egg dish and it came with pastrami hash. A little too heavy on the potatoes. And the break was more like a slice of a baguette. It worked, but it wasn't as memorable as some of the other breakfasts out there. Still for a place in the area -- and if you've already done Cafe Du Monde -- this is a good place of brunch. They're located in the French Quarter next to the cathedral so it's an easy find, but touristy because of their location. I'd definitely come back though! We had the: - Banana foster french toast. The bread is really soft, but the edges were a little too tough. The taste definitely made up for it though! There are pieces of banana on top of 3-4 small pieces of bread with walnuts all in yummy syrup! - Eggs stella. It's an eggs benedict with the largest soft shell crab with I've ever seen! (see my picture). It's SUPER yummy and the soft shell crab is obviously the best part of this dish (the eggs were poached perfectly, and the ham/muffin was just OK). We arrived at 820am and were out by 850am stuffed and ready to walk back since we were so full! Service is friendly and fast, but we were lucky because we came in on a weekday. This was probably one of the better places we had breakfast at - the decor is romantic and cute! read more

We only went there because it was the only place to really have breakfast in the immediate area. Not really that tasty. They do give you a LOT of food though. Location is really good. Right alongside Jackson square with St. Louis Cathedral and whatnot right across the footpath. Sticky floors, falsely uppity waiters. Stop two on my impromptu two-day, two-stop bananas foster french toast of New Orleans tour: Stanley. What really made the bananas foster extra delicious here was the added dollop of ice cream. The warmth of the french toast together with the cold ice cream made for an interesting bite each time; places don't usually play with the temperature of a dish too much, so I thought this was a nice touch. Of the two BFFTs I tried, I'd probably have to give a slight edge to Surrey's version, but I still loved Stanley's take on the dish. It was a while ago, so I can't remember exactly what my dining companions got. Somebody had gumbo made with alligator and some other ingredients, which was pretty good. 3.5 Stars. This is my second time here and was the first stop on my trip this time around. Last time a got a tasty omelette which was huge. This time I tried the $16 eggs Stanley, eggs Benedict topped with fried oysters. The eggs were poached perfectly, but I wasn't keen on the hollandaise sauce. It was thin and runny and not what I'm used to but maybe thats how they make it in NOLA. Also the english muffin was kinda of whimpy and was not toasted which made it more difficult to cut. The fried oysters tasted really good. Their bloody Mary's are very tasty. We were looking for brunch in New Orleans on new year's day and the first restaurant we had planned to go to had a horrendous wait, so I turned to Yelp and saw that Stanley had great reviews and was only a short walk from where we were. I noticed that their Yelp entry also had a "Get on the waitlist" feature, so I went ahead and added our group to the list and it told me we would have a wait of around 20 minutes, which was fine. When we arrived at the restaurant, I let the hostess know that we were there. She said that they would text me when our table was ready and since it was in the low teens outside (there wasn't anywhere in the main restaurant to stand and wait), she directed us to their bar next door. I ordered their "Mega" Bloody Mary, which came with more pickled veggies than their regular bloody. I noticed that the drink mix was pre-mixed and being poured out of a big container, but I pleasantly surprised at how good the drink was. Plenty of spices and it carried a kick. Soon after ordering, my phone rang (not a text) and the restaurant said that our table was ready. The restaurant has great charm to it and a great view of Jackson Square. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Eggs Stella (Cornmeal-Crusted Soft-Shell Crab, Poached Eggs, Canadian Bacon, and Hollandaise Sauce on a Toasted English Muffin). I was in literal brunch heaven. I love soft-shell crab, but had never had it in a breakfast dish. It was a large portion and everything was cooked perfectly. My only negative about this place is that they don't do separate checks, which wasn't a problem for our group of four, but I could see it being an issue for larger parties. I was completely worthless after my Blood Mary/Seafood Feast, but that's how you're supposed to feel after a meal in the Big Easy! A very successful brunch in my book. read more

We had got the following items: -Corn Beef Hash: it was a dish of overflowing potatoes over corn beef hash with some good ole poached eggs and hollandaise, with a side of french bread, and I like it that way! The reason I took off a star was because of the service... We went during Essence Fest, and it was swarming with people. I like that they have a 'texting' option when your table is ready so you don't have to stay at the restaurant... you can actually wander around the vicinity which is pretty artsy. Ordered the Breaux Bridge Benedict because they make their boudin in house. Pretty hefty plate! Presentation is great. Perhaps I had the wrong dish to begin with but I'm giving this place a 3. I ordered their mixed veggie salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was not hot; it was warmed up chicken. It was also overcooked and it was chewy. Very disappointing especially when they charged almost $13 for a very small salad. From the other reviews though, it seems like they have better alternatives so I wouldn't not try this place. Just don't order the salad! Stopped in for breakfast based on yelp reviews and was not disappointed. No wait at 0900 on a Monday. Developed a 15 min wait while we were there. Food was excellent. Could tell the waitress was a professional and she did an excellent job. She did upsale us on boudin and potatoes which were both excellent. They accommodated my son's request for 1blueberry pancake with blueberries and made it in the batter not just on top. We equally loved the banana fosters French toast and the Breau Bridge Benedict.
