Stan's Donuts has the BEST coconut donut I've ever tasted. Its not too sweet and taste like coconut and thoae coconut shavings take it over the top onto excellence. Their blueberry gluten-free donut is also delicious with not so sweet icing. Their 32oz iced decaf latte with almond milk is also delicious. I bought 8 donuts and 3 coffees for a total of 35 bucks not counting the tip. Came back a 2nd time and ordered the Lemon cake pistachio old fashioned donut which was good and their Blueberry cake old-fashioned with Blueberry icing was also great. Stan's The Man!!! I'm typically not a fan of chain donut places. Stan's is a little bit of a standout. Though they make traditional and, what I like to call, "fancy" donuts, they put out a great and tasty product. Lot's to choose from. As it's decorated pretty gaudy, it does have the feel of a very fancy old donut shop. But it works. Stan's look screams classic donut shop. I've tried a number of donuts from Stan's and have yet to find one that I don't like. Beyond the donuts, Stan's brewing up some killer coffee to go along with those delightful cake rings from heaven. Hot and fresh, the coffee has great bold flavor that'll really get you going. They have a number of options for coffee and flavored coffee beverages as well. Would I go back? I would and I would recommend trying. I wouldn't get hung up on too much as I did mention that it's a chain. I like to explore a variety of donut shops. But, in a pinch, I would gladly walk into Stan's and get myself a box of goodness and a cup of joe. read more

This donut and coffee shop is conveniently located across the street from our hotel. When we arrived the line wasn't long, but when we left about 9:45 the line was out the door! The donut case greets you first, and the donuts look scrumptious. However, we were wanting coffee and something with protein so I had the ham and cheese pretzel panini and Hubby had a croissant sandwich. We found an empty table in the middle of the place and snagged it so we had a place to eat. Hubby had his usual Americano and I started with a sugar free hazelnut latte which was quite tasty. After finishing it I ordered a sugar free caramel latte to go and something about the taste was not as pleasing as the hazelnut was. A little denser than I would have liked but still pretty tender and the chocolate peppermint combo is DELISH! We came here before a boat tour. Pretty solid donuts and coffee. The line was a bit long, but once you order it's pretty quick!

Such a fun place for breakfast, and great location near the Magnificent Mile. Had a bit of a wait but was worth it. All the pastries looked amazing, and the taste didn't disappoint. My favorites were the Vanilla Glazed Cruller (great balance of cream and vanilla sweet) and the Biscoff Pocket (cinnamon cookie deliciousness)! I didn't know if Chicago is known for its donuts but Stan's ended up on my list of spots to try. Got a strawberry glazed and a Boston Cream. The strawberry had a surprisingly little bit of tart strawberry flavor, which cut through the sweetness. The Boston Cream was generously filled, maybe a little too much so. The system of bagging and noting the price tier of donuts for the cashier is a good way to keep the line moving, but I'd argue some of the "specialty" donuts should be more of the regular tier. Coffee was good and worked well with the donuts. I wish there were a grinder on site, though. I wanted to buy the coffee they had, but they only sold whole beans. If they sold it ground or offered to grind it, it'd be better. read more

Wow I LOVE Stan's! We were staying super close at the Hyatt and ending up frequenting this place almost every morning we were in chicago. For doughnuts, we tried the vanilla frosted, nutella, blueberry old fashioned, boston cream, and chocolate glazed. All of these were amazing, but I personally wouldn't get the boston cream. I also got the stanwich on a croissant with sausage and it was so good, I actually loved that the eggs were scrambled. On a trip to Chicago, we were staying at London House for the weekend. Stan's on Michigan was located just around the corner from our hotel. Stan's originated in LA and the owner partnered with the Labriola family, who happens to own one of my favorite Italian spots in Chicago. They have multiple locations in the Chicago area now. I couldn't tell you about the customer service or the restaurant itself, but I can tell you about the deliciousness that was had. I was presented with an apple fritter, a regular and chocolate glazed, and a Le Stan croissant donut. all of them looked great, but I set my eyes on the tried and true glazed donut. The donut had some size to it and was prefectly glazed. The dough was nice and airy and didn't have a overpowering yeast flavor like some donuts I have had. The apple fritter was one of the best fritters I have had. If that is not your jam, they also have cake donuts, cronuts, fritters and all kinds of other, unique donut items and flavors. They also have hot breakfast sandwiches in different forms as well. Coffee is in their name as well and it is good here too. Even after getting it after traveling a few blocks in the cold, it was still a solid cup of joe. In a city with with some heavy hitter donut shops, Stan's stands up to the best of them. I would definitely come back, especially since they are all over the place in the Windy City. read more

Such a cute and fun donut shop! Went a few minutes after they opened on St.Pat's celebration morning as was a short walk from Hyatt Regency. They were fully stocked and had some fantastic flavors. I think our favorites were the blueberry old fashioned the coconut cream cake donut, the Biscoff, & the strawberry raised (which a little boy recommended as the most yummiest donut there and was not wrong). Nothing like a good pastry to go with a hot cup of coffee or tea. There is usually a line out the door but it moves fast. I really enjoy visiting this location. We stopped by Stan's on a whim for breakfast when the restaurant we were trying to go to had a huge line to get in. Stan's was busy with a line to the door but it was moving quickly.
