    Carne Asada plate
    Dane T.

It's too bad what happened to this place. The food is mediocre for an extremely high price. Paid about $20 for a carne asada plate with a conservative portion of meat, dry rice, beans and a mini salad with thousand + tortillas. Nothing really going on inside, removed the chips/salsa bar. Limited amount of drinks with no aguas frescas.

Their business claims "fresh tamales" made everyday. This has to be over 3 days old. Really disgusted I would avoid this place any day.

Their buisness claims "fresh tamales" made every day. This has to be at least 4 days old. Absolutely disgusting I would avoid this place 100%

Rude person. She needs an intense course of costumer service!

This is my first and my last time coming to get masa at this place. This woman here was extremely rude to EVERYONE there not only me. If she didn't want to come to work this morning then why did she even show up?? Stay home honey! Stay and sleep in or find another job.

A piece of the so called cheese tamale. Even the husk is dry.

I would give them a zero if I could. The girl taking orders looked like she was forced to be there, not friendly at all. I ordered tamales, 1 of each - pork, chicken, & cheese. Worst tamales I've had in my life. They're literally like 3" long for over $2.00, absolutely not worth it! I took only one bite of the cheese one and it was so dry I thought I was eating saw dust with a piece of rubber inside. The outside of the tamale looked like it was three days old and the cheese was so over cooked it looked like it was a piece of orange rubber. I tried the chicken thinking how can you go wrong with chicken, I was wrong. The pork had a bit more flavor but the masa was as dry as saw dust. Needless to say, I threw them away, waste of money and time

    Pozole
    Stacy M.

I had hope for this place. Even after reading the reviews I thought I'd give it antry since they ate so close to my home. I ordered 2 cheese and jalepeno tamales and a small pozole. The tamales, both of them are dusty dry. I may try a damp paper towel and microwave, but I am not hopeful. The pozole is tasteless. I feel robbed of $12...

Machaca egg without the rest of the plate, which includes, beans, rice, and salad.

The place was busy as usually and we were told that wait would be around 15-20 minutes. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I ordered Macallan 12 Yr. and to my surprise, the bartender served it on a brandy glass rather than on a whiskey glass. Bad start. In less than five minutes our table was ready, not where we asked, but on the patio. It was cold and we asked the server to shut off the ceiling fan on top of us. Never happened. We ordered our food and asked for the wine list. Oddly enough the beverage list did not have a wine list, we as the server again for a wine list, another server came and told us that we did not see the wine list on the beverage list. We told him there is not a wine list on the list. A third server brought another similar list with a wine list. We ordered a Joel Gott Cabernet. We got our food but not the wine. We waited and waited and no wine was served. We asked another server to find out about the wine. The original server brought one single glass of wine, and we reminded him that we had ordered a full bottle. Another ten minutes passed and still no wine. By then, we were almost done with our meals. My grandson got up and told the server to forget the wine. Five minutes later another server brought the same glass of wine and left on the table. I thought, well people make mistakes, the place was packed and they felt bad about our bad experience. We got the check and to my surprise they charged me $11 for the glass of wine I did not order. As a former business owner, I always welcomed customers' suggestions.

Alberto's Mexican Food - Cypress, CA February 5, 2026…read more First visit This was my first time at Alberto's Mexican Food in Cypress, and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the beef taco and beef taquitos, and both hit the spot. The beef taco came loaded with lettuce and cheese, and the shell was perfectly cooked--not greasy, not soggy. The beef was nicely seasoned, and the hot sauce served on the side paired with it perfectly, adding just the right amount of kick. The beef taquitos were also very good--crispy, filled generously, topped with plenty of melted cheese, and finished with a guacamole sauce that was especially tasty. The rice and beans were average, nothing bad, just not standout--but everything else more than made up for it. All in all, a very solid experience, especially for a first visit. I'd definitely return and try more items on the menu.

However, this is the 2nd time we've had a missing item from our takeout. We moved away, but grew up with Albertaco's and we LOVE IT. Carne asada fries, chicken quesadilla, cali burrito, their red salsa, chef's kiss. Last year May 2025, we drove and did takeout for our brothers birthday. We ordered 2 carne asada fries, and they only gave us 1 (our order was big). Yesterday, May 17,2026, I drove out here again for my brother's birthday request to do takeout for our entire family. Ordered 2 orders of their rolled tacos, finally got home to see that we only received 1 order of the rolled tacos, not 2 (we also ordered more things). Yes, you'd obviously like for everything that you paid for to be handed to you, but a lesson learned to check your bags!!! If something is missing, kindly let them know and receive everything you paid for. Not the end of the world, we love this place as this is one of our childhood comfort foods/go-to places.. we moved away and miss this place all the time, and to make our birthdays feel like home/childhood, we drive out here to show our loved one some extra love with Albertaco's BOMB food, but yeah, it's a bummer when you're missing things that you paid for & is shown on the receipt (will post receipt photo shortly).

HUGE Disappointment. To put it bluntly, I would have had a vastly tastier meal at Chipotle. The Food: Sub-Par and Speed-Warmed Nothing on the plate had any FLAVOR, and the temperature of the food was warm at best. The Rice & Beans: The beans were warm/cold and entirely unseasoned. Shockingly, the rice was plain, white, and completely flavorless. White rice at a Mexican restaurant? Seriously? Chilaquiles: These were entirely ruined, hidden under a slab of meat and a strange, bright yellow egg substance. Scrambled Eggs: They had a terrible, distinct taste of powdered origin. Chile Relleno: This was obviously prepared way in advance and just reheated, as the inside was still completely cold. Fish Taco: This was delivered on a flat, no flavor, and cold tortilla. Pico de Gallo: It was completely mushy, which is a strong indication that they are using canned, cubed tomatoes instead of fresh ones. Gaslit by Staff When I confronted the staff about the complete lack of flavor, I was dismissed and told that their "customers rave about it." They are clearly out of touch. Do not let the social media photos fool you. Seriously disappointed and mislead by social media. Sub Par! This food is completely bland, poorly prepared, and a total waste of money. NO BUENO!

Like many Mexicans, I grew up believing that the best Mexican food can only be found in Mexico. However, La Huasteca completely exceeded my expectations. The food was authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the fajitas, menudo, and several appetizers, and every single dish was excellent. You can tell they put a lot of care into the quality and preparation of their food. The service was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and most importantly, the food tasted like real Mexican food. That's not something I say often. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and don't mind paying a little extra for quality, I highly recommend La Huasteca. We will definitely be coming back.
