Great breakfast spot in Grand Haven,Mi. Hearty breakfasts, with great flavor. Loved the blueberry French toast and the Cajun egg dish. Good portions. Wonderful service.

I live in the neighborhood and my dog goes to the salon across the street. I had seen the sign for Stanz but hadn't thought about going until I saw some of the other reviews on Yelp. I stopped in on a snowy Saturday morning. The place was pretty quiet and they were training a couple of new guys that were just starting. I ordered my breakfast.. a simple one of eggs, bacon, hash browns and a biscuit (with a side of gravy). Was delicious and my coffee never dropped below 75%full. I liked it so much I came back the next morning and had the Greek Hash Plate. Again, top notch and the service was aces.

Friendly and good service at Stanz! My Bourbon Street Omelet with polish kielbasa was awesome! My wife's American breakfast was disappointing as the hash browns were dry and the bacon was burnt and dry. The good news was the Mimosas were generous and spot on!

Had breakfast the morning of Coast Guard fest. Quality restaurants handle the crowd without a problem. Good food too:)

Just average breakfast fare about the same as I can do for myself at home. Still the service was good and the breakfast was ok.

Met up with a friend for brunch at Morning Star recently. It was my first time visiting and I was…read moreexcited since breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal to order out! There was a bit of a wait but they have a little area to sit and browse the menu. The place is cozy and homey, a bit crowded but not too bad. Our server was really helpful and kind. I ordered a coffee, and they have alcoholic options if you'd like a bloody mary, spiked coffee, mimosa, etc. I liked that they brought me my own little carafe for the table. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and I got the tree hugger (zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushroom, baby spinach, black beans, and cheese, served over diced redskin potatoes. I also added eggs. The pancake was fluffy and sweet, and very large which was great for us to split. I really wanted some vegetables so I was very happy with the tree hugger. It was cheesy and warm, and all the veggies were delicious. I added some hot sauce which made it perfect! My friend got the breakfast burrito which looked really good. I'm glad I got to try this spot and would come back! They do have a lunch menu during the week as well (it said lunch items are limited on weekends).

This is a local favorite. But if you're not local, let me give you a review…read more I have mixed feelings about this place. First off let me point out that there is no private parking lot for this place. This is no big deal if you're from a bigger city like GR, Chi or NYC. But if you're from a smaller town like Muskegon, Coopersville or Fremont where every business has their own private lot this might be a major inconvenience to you. park across the street or on the street if you can find a spot. I was patronizing MSC on a very cold day. This old location has no air lock on the front door, so everytime it opens to let customers exit or enter....the cold air rushes in. Keep that in mind when choosing your table. The restaurant has a warehouse feel to it, similar to the Blue Porch on Beacon Blvd. If you like that style....great. If not you have to deal with acoustics, and a cold drafty feeling, especially in the Winter. Food was actually in line with other restaurants in town unless you want to start getting fancy with the "specials." Believe me, those specials are very popular. Especially the waffle/pancake dishes that are similar to a super sweet dessert at 2000 calories. The last time I was there, the server was friendly, but because of the layout of the dining room, they have a hard time keeping an eye on the tables. So getting a coffee refill or a request for something becomes a waiting game. Overall the food is presented very well and is tasty.

This restaurant has been around since as long as I can remember…read more My grandparents went here, my parents took us here. It was always a nice little diner. Similar to Idle Hour in Spring Lake and Rendezvous in Grand Haven. Unfortunately the latter have since shut down. Pine Street underwent new ownership a few years ago, and it really hasn't been the same since. They updated the menu with what seems to be Southwest Style food, even though this place is far from being a Tex-Mex eatery. They also boast a liquor license, I guess this is for the Bloody Mary crowd? They closed for remodeling in January, but reopened. I went there after they opened to see the improvements. To me all it looks like they did was tear out the carpeting, put in laminante and painted the walls. The same old tables remain as do the uncomfortable counter stools. No art work on the walls yet. I ordered a country breakfast. ($13), 2 small eggs, ham, American fries. What's interesting is the American Fries were basically deep fried chunks of potatoes. Different than what other restaurants around this area call AF. Also other restaurants ask if you want onions in the potatoes, here they don't since they are basically similar to French fries. Sourdough toast cost me an extra dollar. Coffee was $2.75. So the meal was: Country Breakfast: $13 Toast: $1 Coffee: $2.75 Tax $1.01 Credit card surcharge: 50¢ Total: $18.25 Plus tip: $3.50 Almost $22 for a basic breakfast for one. Had I brought my GF and parents it would be just shy of $90 for a breakfast for 4. Service was good.

Rainy Day has outside dining, but it was a rather chilly morning, so everyone was eating inside. The place was crowded, but we managed to find a lone table tucked in the corner.
