This has been my go-to Staples since the one on Santa Monica Blvd closed years ago. During the pandemic when we were to sanitize everything we touched, I began wearing my fanny pack to keep from touching my phone when away from home and put money for purchases in it too to avoid opening my purse many times while in stores. (I recall seeing on TV that we had to wipe down all groceries, too, in addition to the shopping baskets.) But rushing out a few days ago I put a Lexar 128 GB flash drive in a tiny compartment with extra keys, and somehow it jammed the drive and I could not slide it open. A neighbor took the time using his pocket knife and flash light to take it apart and put it back together. It worked. I thought I would end up trashing it by driving over it, but I was not worried knowing I had complicated passwords. I always watch for sales and I bought several flash drives when they were first brought into Staples inventory. Since many people will work from home as the NEW NORMAL, I hope these gadgets are used to protect privacy. Btw, whenever I step away from any computer, I lock it (CTRL+L). I once had a hospital appointment and the doctor could not access my file because they had a new computer system. She was wearing a flash drive around her neck for that reason. I had download many of my medical records and tests onto one of these (with a password), and the doctor used it to transfer my records to their new system. That was a much smaller storage drive, but it had necessary info to proceed that day. I'm a big privacy advocate who will raise hell over HIPAA violations too, so I have bought many security equipment and gadgets from Staples. They hire very qualified staff and their employees always are available to answer questions. I laugh at myself because I have 110 passwords and I merely use hints to open documents or login. Funny thing is that I have backups of backups. When the pandemic struck, most of my family started shredding and some even wrote their obituaries. Once I figured out how to convert documents to pdf records, I learned how to password protect them, too, and my VPNs will drive anyone crazy. I ditched all high school and college yearbooks scanning them as well as family photos scanned and I created CDs for other family to enjoy of photos (some set to music for different times in our lives). Originals of important certified documents are the only ones kept . Reading lots of tech magazines and subscriptions, I tend to stay ahead making purchases during sales. I discovered my screw-up with my one flash drive when I offered to look on it and send a friend info on the statue of limitations re a matter she was dealing with. It was a summary of Torts. That flash drive never should have been in my fanny pack but I was rushing and grabbed it with little time to put it where it belonged. Yet, I was worry free given the info in paragraph #2. Things are constantly changing, and I have learned that if I like something to buy two or three and be ready to buy the new stuff. For emails, I also use encrypted sites for important stuff. It is nice when two parties can agree on passwords to send and open documents and set them to expire as well as block forwarding and printing when necessary. I was a client three or four times. All I need is to laminate my A4-sized catalogs. Usually, I have no problem with this. There is a guy who is almost bold who is very friendly, calm, smiley, and understanding. There's also a ponytail-wearing girl who is extremely friendly and has excellent soft skills. I also told her directly that you are so good. Last time, there was a woman with eyeglasses and TWO BRAIThere was a woman with eyeglasses and TWO BRAIDED HAIR the last time I saw her . She is so rude--typing something on her computer and drinking water--that I said, "Excuse me," to attract her attention. This happened the first time because all the time, they come over and help me. She asked me, "What do you want?" Oh, I replied, i need to laminate my documents." "When do you need it?" she asked, still typing and sitting. I said i needed it now, but I can wait for you (because she was typing; I thought it must be something serious that she did not come ). "What do you mean, wait, huh?" she asked. She got louder. Hey, what are you doing? I was almost panicked. There were even a few people behind me in line. She did not even get up. I stood there for almost 3 minutes to get my things laminated. Then, i said I needed to do it now. She got up okay. OK. Take my papers and come back said it is $11. For express service, she added $0.97. That is fine but. For regular lamination for 3 papers, i did not have to pay that much. So, I just said nothing and paid. But her behavior was still so annoying and difficult. One guy tried to use a self-serving printing machine. When asked about its simplicity, she replied that she did know. He just needed assistance. "Why don't you use other machines, huh?" she asked. I am busy. Oh wow! Can't you call another person who is free to help? Okay2. Overall, she changed the way I see that place; I do not want to go back. read more

beware!!! was in Ktown with a friend when we decided to swing by staples, BIG MISTAKE! THIS YOUNG LATINO GUY IN the mobile department shady! he asks too many questions! he even made a copy of my driver license and my credit card?? when i asked him if that was necessary, he defensively just answered me with a gnarly response " thats for our records, its required by staples to avoid fraud" oh my god. i just told him forget it, so i left, when i was in my car, i realized i needed to get the paper back, i went back and asked him for it, he just said, do you feel like going thru the trash? beware guys, if you've done business with them i'll check my statements, I'm on the look out now... put a security feature on your credit. read more

I often go here for office and shipping supplies. Even though they also offer shipping service here I never use because it's fairly expensive compare to the post office few blocks away. What I like about this place is its conveniently located and has lots of parking, which I never have an issues with when I come here. The store is never seem busy therefor long wait in line isn't a problem here. Customer service here is ok if not bad, the staffs will never ask to see if you need help, so if you ever need any assistance, go and ask for it. You know there is no customer service when you are wandering around the store for 30 min and not a single employee in sight to ask if you need help. So after spending an additional 20 min in line just to ask if a product is in stock and after waiting another 10 min for the manager to greet me with an answer I leave vowing to never come back ever again. The employees are more harm then help and the black security guard thinks it's still the la riots and follows white males around making them very uncomfortable even in the bathroom.
