Exceptionally slow service. We needed to have our grand mother's funeral program printed out. The funeral was scheduled for the next morning at 9:00 AM. There was not a person ahead of us and we were told that if you want it today it will be special charge of $1.78 per page whereas there regular no rush was only $1.37 per page. We asked the manager name Joel if he had tons of job's stacked up in front of us and he did not. We understand if they had to prioritize our job charging extra would have been ok but they were going to run the job now anyway but they would not make it available until 6:00 PM the following day (approximately 9 hours after the funeral). Joel emphasized that since the rates are from the corporate and he could not change it to $1.37 as the computer won't let him do that... sounded pretty lame excuse as price adjustment is always done by managers and they over rides prices all the time. I thought Staples folks could have been more understanding. This is what is lacking in our businesses that we are very shy to extend a courtesy to gain customer's loyalty and our dealings towards our customers have become very insensitive and robot like where you hardly find the desire to demonstrate the good old fashion " going an extra step". At least we did not experience here at this Staples. Staples did not do anything wrong but in my opinion demonstrated poor taste of customer service. read more

I only use yelp when something absolutely awful happens, or something spectacular does. In this case, something spectacular happened, and he goes by the name of Hakim. I spent most of the entire week breaking my head on trying to figure out how to burn a dvd. I purchased everything, DVD's, DVD burner, etc. My deadline was coming up and most places that burn dvd's either had a 3 week turnaround time or did not do this service at all. I called desperately searching everywhere until I decided to call staples. The gentleman on the phone told me that they normally do not do that service as they do not provide it. BUT, to call back in an hour when their tech employee Hakim showed up. So I did, and that was the moment I knew I was going to be taken care of. I came over, Hakim greeted me with a smile and asked if I was the one who called over the phone regarding the dvd burn. He asked for the file, and immediately grabbed his computer and began to work on converting my file. While he was working on my project, he was assisting a woman in choosing a case for her Ipad answering every question with incredible knowledge and service. While we were waiting for the DVD to burn, we just watched him help customers left and right, asking everyone passing by within 2 feet of his work station how they were doing and if they needed any help. He is an amazing employee and I can tell he loves what he does, and the people he works with. Hakim helped me immensely, but it was how he helped others that made me say "This guy is a customer obsessed". Don't let Hakim go, staples! read more

I come here to get last minute supplies for my work. Sometimes work runs out of paper and I'll offer to grab it (while I go and pick up my coffee nearby). It's fairly fast, the store is organized, and I have no problem getting anything I need. Great place! read more

Everytime I use their print services for my job there is some sort of issue. My boss wanted to continue using them but I finally had to give up because the girls that work in the print area not only have NO idea what they are doing but they are incredibly rude. If you need anything done quickly and efficiently do not do it here. It's like a bunch of toddlers who missed their naps trying to work a copy machine. Very unprofessional. read more

I work for a Non-Profit organization and we had ordered holiday cards and labels from someone at another Staples. The order was, unfortunately all wrong when it arrived, and we were not sure what to do in the short amount of time we had to get the holiday cards out. This store is incredible, and everyone on staff was so helpful, especially Amanda. She went out of her way to help us, and we are just incredibly grateful!!! She made other suggestions for us on what would be best, and is simply a GREAT employee/ambassador for this company. We will be returning often, thanks to her exemplary service!!!! I come to staples every now and again for the printing services. I sent over my document the day before and still waiting 20 plus minutes to receive my document. For whatever reason the document wasn't formatting correctly so the woman told me to use the self service not mentioning the costs doubling! I paid $5 to use the computer then $3.25 for three pages . I got slow service and paid a lot for nothing. Never coming back again. read more

Literally the worst staples ever. I ONLY come here for the print center to get prints for my artwork. I had one guy literally tell me to my face that he did not want to help me. I just came in right now for another print and the girl working acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, when I get prints from the Staples in Chino Hills almost every week. This is literally the worst experience I've ever had at any staples ever, and I'm literally going to drive out of my way to go to another Staples because this one is so terrible. welcome to the twilight zone of office supply stores. after my 3rd nightmare visit to this staples that went from what should have been a 5 minute quick in and out to a 20 minute marathon of idiocy i'll be taking all of my future office/tech business to OFFICE MAX on BOUQUET. I have spent at least $2000 at this staples in the past two years and i will now be buying all office supplies at OFFICE MAX. this STAPLES location is the SLOWEST office supply store i've experienced in my life. don't be fooled because it's 99% empty 95% of the time. if there's one person ahead of you in line you will be there for 20 minutes. you're just better off going to another store where the employees actually care about the customers. this store is a disaster. from now on i'm going to OFFICE MAX on BOUQUET. i'd rather drive an extra 10 minutes to pick up my office supplies instead of standing in line watching the decline of western civilization unfold before my eyes. goodbye staples. read more

I needed to get something to convert pictures off of a couple old memory sticks onto a flash drive. They had a converter that seemed like it would work but it didn't work with my MAC computer. When I returned it to the store, Hakim Abdul-Kaaliq went out of his way to listen to what I needed and help me get my pictures transferred onto a flash drive. Thank you Hakim! If you want your house infested with roaches please shop here! I purchased a storage bin and when I came home I didn't open it or nothing. But when I woke up in the morning I saw a roach. So since we have never had any pests in our home I started checking anything new I had brought home and sure enough when I removed the tape from the bin I purchased there was 3 more ROACHES inside. So gross! I called to talk to the manager and they just hung up on me!!!! instead of office supplies you get your home infested with ROACHES!!!! read more

I honestly hate coming by this store but to avoid driving across town to office depot I have no other choice . Photo and copy can never get it together ive always had issues with them before but for sake of keeping this short this time around I came in to have an 11x14 printed on regular plain white paper in color. They couldn't get the image from the flash drive at first (BTW it was the only saved on the USB) then they asked me several times if I wanted it blk & wht or color. My patience after 20 minutes grew short and since I have to wait another while or so before they can figure it out it gave me time on my hands to look them up on yelp and review them smh read more

Being a teacher in a low-income area, I have to use a lot of my own money for supplies for my students. For this reason, I rely on good deals at stores. Staples advertises notebooks for $0.17 and you can buy up to 30. Online the deal said it was good up until 9/17. I went to Staples and grabbed the notebooks I needed for my students and was told that the deal was off and each notebook is now $1.59. That is ridiculous and I cannot afford to pay that much. Why have a deal advertised that you will not honor? If they were out of the notebooks, I would understand. However, there were many notebooks left over. read more

I brought in my laptop to get looked at because I was having issues being able to connect to wifi. Not only did they get my laptop working properly the manager Al stayed a little longer to make sure my laptop was working properly and even walked me out to my car to make sure I got to it safely. I purchase a OBNOXIOUSLY LARGE amount of office supplies in any given month. While I mostly purchase from Staples online, I do have to run into the store several times a month for a few things. With that being said I have always had a pleasant experience at this particular location. Employees are always nice and helpful, when I order online for in-store pickup the turn around time is quick. Even when my fax machine decided to take a sh**, I ran into the store shortly before closing and the "print and copy" employees took time out of their day to show me how to use their fax machine service and didn't show one bit of annoyance while I shopped for an all-in-one printer/fax (I know "I" would have been overly annoyed with someone shopping AFTER closing if I worked there) Overall I've had a great experience. On a side note, I used to shop at their Woodland Hills location on my way to work in Malibu. It "was" more convenient but after NUMEROUS bad experiences (one of which was when I had to find my own in-store pickup item, after being told they were out of it - I had received, hours early, an email stating it had been pulled and it was ready for pickup. They were, in no way, "out of it". They were just too lazy to look for it, as it was in the clearance section of the store, in "low" stock - 1099 tax forms shortly after tax time - but at least 20 packages still were "in" stock). I will now go out of my way to shop at the Golden Valley Staples location just because i know my business is valued. I do wish they would open at 8am. However, I do understand why they don't. Maybe one day when the area is a bit more built up - one can wish :-) read more

What is this store doing here? With a Staples just a couple of miles away in the Food4Less Shopping Center on Whites Canyon and Soledad Canyon, I really have to wonder. Then again, what are GNC and Styles doing here as well? This Staples is bigger and brighter than its' kissing cousin down the road, so it's a question as to when they'll close the other one. Nothing too different you haven't seen at any other Staples and actually quite surprised they didn't do any true Grand Opening specials like Target and Kohl's did. Worth going to especially since OfficeMax is much further away and the Office Depot on Carl Boyer closed up. Now that's what should've opened here. read more

Went here on 6/25 to buy a VGA monitor cable. They had 2, both their store brand. Both over $30. Tried to do the price match. The clerk said yes, but not internet prices (like Amazon). Found a Belkin cable for $7.99. He says Frye's isn't a national chain. Wal-mart listed theirs for $12.99. Staples said the beat they could do was $32 for their own, WAY overpriced product. Santiago at the store, who first claimed to be an assistant manager only to tell me a week later that he is in fact the General Manager constantly talked over me and down to me as if he somehow could trick me into believing this is on me for not "buying an extended warranty." I purchased the product less than a year ago and neither HP nor Staples will refund my money. Their answer to fixing a lousy HP printer is to replace it with another HP printer, or come purchase another printer at Staples and they might credit me a little something. Look in the mirror bud, there's a reason your store has such a lousy rating. read more

I always end up getting my laptops here. Last few times it's Toshiba and this time I got Windows 7, 6gb RAM, huge hard drive, Intel i3. After coming back every day for a week and asking sales guy the same questions 6 different ways a sale for an extra $100 hit and bam I snapped it up. I should remember his name but I'm drawing a blank. He was very helpful - he heard a beard stocky guy if that helps LOL. He said so you're gonna get it tonight? I said yeah you convinced me. But the extra $100 off pushed me over the top! It's 650+tax or $700??? I got its out the door $439 and I've got $50 rebate more so $389 is awesome !!! Did u mention I wore out salesman lol. Excellent service, good quality. Did some large color prints mounted on foam board. They noticed that the art quality was below what they thought i might want and contacted me. I supplied higher quality art and the job came out great. It would have been a problem, an expensive one, had Samantha not caught this. They also turned this around in 24 hours and it included a decent amount of hand labor. (such as trimming all the edges almost perfectly). my other experiences with the staff at this store has also been positive - staff treats customers well. read more

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE !!!!!! Customer service is the worst. Took our 2 iPhones in to get the liquid gel that they are PROMOTING as a scratch protection. Within 3 weeks our phones little by little stopped working completely. We took our receipt in and showed them how 2 phones are broken due to the liquid gel. Their comeback was Apple put out a message saying that there is something wrong with the iPhones that were put out in the last year. We lost $1,500 and what they did for us was return 29$'s and basically called us liars. They will do everything to put the blame on someone else. How is it possible that you go in with 2 working iPhones working perfectly in great condition and be told call Apple or Verizon. A staple employee wrote a review on how the liquid gel will ruin your phone and how they are pushed to sell the product. Staples @ Golden Valley has the worst/ no customer service. read more

I bought a printer from this store and it has never worked properly. I finally paid $ 100 for a tech to come out and trouble shoot it. I am a volunteer teacher and have been enlarging and laminating classroom displays for more than 10 years at my own expense. I have never paid more than $7 or $8 dollars and the materials were generally ready in about 10 or 15 minutes. Today it cost me nearly $20 (including a never before heard of "scanning fee") and wouldn't be ready for 8 hours. I live almost 25 miles away so it's not like I would go back a second time just to pick my order up. It's bothersome enough to me that after more than 20 years of volunteering I am contemplating quitting which would leave almost 300 students from 3 different school districts without weekly music lessons. I made an online order and it was not ready by the time that I ordered on line. Apparently, the "requested pick-up date and time" is just that "requested." The only reason it is not one star, is because the manager refunded my rush fee and gave me a 30% discount, which I had to request. They did print it quickly in store (within 15 min). read more

I recently had a MAJOR issue with my desktop computer yesterday. I called in for advise. I spoke with Hakim, who was on duty in their Tech Support. He was extremely polite and courteous as I was explaining the problem (s). Brought it in later that day. Received a call back the next morning to advise me it was repaired. When I arrived, Hakim explained the issues, their causes, what's was done to correct them, and most importantly, how to prevent them from reoccurring. Hakim has a great customer service attitude. I spoke to his manager (Al) and mentioned this to him. Every time I need computer related work, I always choose this Staples. Although it had been more than 2 years since I was in the store, some of the Employees recognized me and we spoke like friends. My grandfather passed and I ended up being in charge of the obituary. I attempted to do them at home but honestly it was a mess. So I went to Staples and met Samantha who was absolutely amazing. I showed her what I was trying to do & what I had done and she came to my rescue. Samantha was so patient and kept working even after I left to perfect my grandfathers obituary. I had no idea she would tweak & make corrections even after I left because there were small details that needed to be added & changed. So the next day I went up there. I was panicked because the weekend was going to be her day off & I just knew no one was going to be able to help me or know what I was talking about. To my surprise Samantha left detailed notes for Haley & she knew exactly who I was & what I needed. Haley was amazing as well. Haley went above & beyond & I will forever be appreciative of the time they took to ensure this process was easy & stress free. If you need obituaries done go to Staples. What a disaster! I took in my computer for a minor adjustment. A wire had come loose which just needed to be plugged back in. However, their tech geniuses WIPED THE ENTIRE COMPUTER and removed EVERY program. It has been taking me months to rebuild it the way I had it. Never, ever again!!!! read more
