I haven't purchase a beverage from this location since I patronize the local coffeehouse down the street. I did stop by over Black Friday weekend to buy a gift card for a family member and a gift for a friend. Specifically, I was looking for the 'You are Here' Chicago mug. Granted, I could have bought one at the many shops located near my office in downtown Chicago, but I figured I'd get it at this location if they had it since I was already in the area. I didn't see any on display, but did find some ornaments with the Chicago logo on it, which wasn't what I wanted. I asked one of the associates if they had any in stock. Perhaps only the city locations carry the mug. She proceeded to tell me that there might be some in the back. Why they were in the back and not out on display for people to purchase beats me. Perhaps they simply hadn't gotten around to setting them up yet or perhaps the employees were savings mugs for themselves. Side note: here's an example that the thing about having none in the back isn't always true and you really can't go wrong asking them to check. She went into the back and found a mug for me, which I purchased. We also purchased a gift card for my fiancé's brother's wife who adores the 'Bucks. Service wise, the women we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. I just wish they had the mug out so I didn't have to ask for it. read more

This Starbucks is consistently thoughtless and lazy. I get a sandwich and espresso at Starbucks all around town, and this place always ignore some part of my order. The service here was great and the product is the usual. However, my experience has been that this Starbucks has the slowest wifi of any I've been to in years. Even on days when there's not many people here using it, it seems very slow compared to other locations. That and the fact that my phone is with Verizon and they have TERRIBLE coverage in Alhambra makes this not the best place to work, even though it's a great location and the staff is nice. read more

This review is based on the layout and quality of service, not necessarily the quality of the drinks. One of my go-to Starbucks to do work. Sure I can go to a mom and pop coffee shop if I wanted good coffee but being a gold member, it's too late to care about quality of coffee. Just give me the caffeine. I especially like the layout of the tables because I feel it's conducive for good work. Equal parts privacy and natural sun light yet still able to people watch. I can easily spend a few hours getting whatever I need to get done. The service has been superb each and every time. I have been a coffee lover for a long time. It doesn't hurt my business is just around the corner. This has led to a caffeine fix for over 7 years lol... Throughout I have experienced only the best customer service. Barista after barista and management have been very helpful and knowledgeable. Their coffee expertise makes it easier to keep choosing Starbucks as my coffee to go Café. David and Alyssa have been there for the last couple years along with Mike and a few others. They are the most friendliest human beings. They always have something to talk about and are great listeners in return. Alyssa has explained how the cold brew is made and has gotten me hooked ever since. David has always been cool af and been a pleasure to get to know while visiting. Humor is always a plus in my heart. This Starbucks is located on the corner of 1st and Main Street. It's usually pretty busy, and it's no surprise why. Esteban, the store manager is always working hard and you can tell he cares about how this business is run. It's a really cool space too, especially after their recent remodel. Parking is located across the street in a 3-4 story parking structure, and is free, or many times, there are spaces located right in front that are okay to park in for a limited amount of time. As stated above, the cold brew is probably the best tasting coffee they carry, and their coffee beans you can purchase and take home smell amazing!!! My other favorites are the white chocolate dream, and chai tea latte. If you are feeling under the weather, ask the baristas for the best tea to help make you feel better. They have a wide selection of tea as well. All in all, great place, great people, and cool spot to hang out inside or outside. Don't forget to tip :( read more

This was my first and last trip to this Starbucks. I went in on a Saturday morning a little after 10. I expected it to be busy and it was. The tables were full and there was a short line. The couple who walked in behind me went straight to the barista. By the time I finished ordering they had drinks in their hands and the line of people in front of me were still waiting for their drinks.The barista continued a conversation with then as the crowd of paying patrons grew. I ordered a zebra hot chocolate...It was disgusting. So not only was he rude and disrespectful, he can't even make a hot chocolate!!! I will never go to this Starbucks again. read more

I'm a regular , usually on Sundays after having lunch with Mom. So again, I'm pretty faded and high when I come in. It is pretty crowded around this time, but there is outside seating, that has great views for those who come as a group. But yeah crowded. Its in the middle of Alhambra, so expect...parking is tricky. But there's plenty of parking lots less than 100 yards in all directions. One star because I bought two drinks that came out to $7.35, I paid with a $10.. And the cashier had the nerve to ask me if I wanted my change back. SERIOUSLY.. I don't understand how you can just expect a tip. All you did was take a simple coffee order. It's not like he went out of his way to make my drink spectacular. This cashier is a tall male with blonde hair and every time I go to Starbucks at this location because it is convenient for me because of my job, this male has a very dry attitude.. I supervise large medical office and treat my staff to monthly Starbucks. I recently ordered a large order for my staff and was disappointed to find that all of our hot drinks were lukewarm and only 3/4 full. I spoke to Celine later on at Starbucks and told her about what had happened. She was extremely apologetic and she spoke to her supervisor in regards to my complaint. Shortly, I received a call back from Celine, who told me she will rectify the situation. She re-did my entire order, free of charge, the following day (no questions asked.) Okay, this is still not a favorite Starbucks, but at least, they can mix their green tea lattes well. No, they didn't care to get personal and ask for my name. My friend and I also came at the late-hour so we both witnessed Starbucks shutting down its lights one by one until they asked us to leave since they close at 10:30PM on a Wednesday. I'm kind of disappointed that for a coffee shop, it closes so early especially since Cha for Tea closes around 1AM. Another sucky thing about this place is that no one really cares to bus the table. The employees are nice here, drinks are good + the barista Nate, is hotter then an extra hot latte.

They are too cheap to buy good beans which is why they almost always burn them and why your coffee tastes like crap. They buy bad beans from the ground to save money and have to over-roast them to keep you from getting sick. Go to pretty much any other coffee shop on the planet, pay less and get a MUCH better drink. read more

I used to love this Starbucks store a lot because they are fast and the customer experience is great. But recently new faces are showing up and the services is getting slower and worst.. Well I walk into the store this morning and grabbed a strawberry oatmeal from the refrigerator and then go to the cashier to pay for it, the guy who wears a name tag as "Anthony" was rude and I can tell he is really mad for some reason; when he gave me the changes his hands were shaking and almost throw the changes to my hand instead just normally hand them to me... I don't know what's wrong with this guy honestly, but my morning ruined for sure. Later I realize that angry cashier named "Anthony" didn't gave me spoon for the oatmeal, so I went back to the counter and asked for one; the moment he looked at me and replied me, I realized how awful his attitude is: he looked at me with an annoyed face and angrily said "I gave you the spoon!" I was shocked but I really need the spoon so I have to ask for the spoon again... he madly turn around and grab a spoon and repeat what he said again with a very angry and mad tone .... Barely on par. I just came into for a coffee and a place to read while waiting for my friend to get off for lunch. Parking was easy across the street in a public structure behind Vinos. It was around half-full with people at around 11:30am on a Friday. I got my black coffee real quick by a nice barista/cashier. Found a nice spot to sit and started reading. The only gruff I have with this place is that, at least from where i was sitting, it was kind of dirty. There were flies around every couple of minutes and some trash here and there. But at least there was plenty of room to sit, especially outside. Would I come back? eh. Just for the bare necesity that is for coffee. read more

This makes the environment so inviting and refreshing. This is the Starbucks location that I usually meet friends from my alma mater to meet me at because it is about a 10- 15 minute drive from ghetto Cal State Los Angeles. It is in a nice location and there is plenty of free 2 hour parking along 1st street. But this place usually gets pretty crowded on any given time I have been here (at various times in the afternoon). I have always gotten friendly service and my drinks have always came out right. But today, I was a little disappointed with my hot passion fruit tea. The barista filled my tea all the way to the top and so it spilled on me when I removed the lid to add my sugar (let me remind you that I ordered a HOT tea). It also spilled on my hand again while I was walking outside to my table (my friend told me I could always spill out the excess, but I told her it's okay because it it already spilled on my hand twice). Usually when I have ordered this drink before, the barista always leaves a little bit of room so that I can add in my own sugar, since the tea is unsweetened. Oh and also the restroom here was descent... although it is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's kind of dirty and sometimes its really nice and clean and well stocked. So I won't hold that against them (well at least for this review). Overall, nice little place that is easy to spot when driving off of Main street. read more

What can I say, it's Starbucks. Although I am not a huge fan of their coffee, I love love the Chai Tea Lattes and cold drinks! I usually order the Passion Shaken Tea with apple juice instead of lemonade and the Chai Tea Latte with soy, no water, and a pump Vanilla flavor (mmmmmmmmmm!!). I usually don't have a problem with my orders and, if anything, this location is super popular so the line can be rather long. I am very upset with this guy in a beanie pouring out my drinks. I get that they were busy but I'm a paying customer and I just spent $9 for drinks. I didn't have time to ask for a cup holder before he moved onto the next order. Then when I asked for ice, he said I'll have to wait. I WALKED FIVE BLOCKS to go get coffee from starbucks on my lunch break. I don't need some guy to be rude to me. There are plenty more establishments with coffee and teas! When he FINALLY gave me my cup of ice it was only half way and he didn't even acknowledge me or say thank you. He was also busy talking to the girl next to me telling her that her bf was in the back room. I worked for Jamba Juice for 5yrs, I know how busy a place can get. I never been a fan of starbucks, dont like the taste of the coffee, the beans taste burned, confusion by this whole venti, grande thing - come on its just a medium and large, why cant I say that, etc!! But the starbucks that has really made me unhappy recently is this one. So I ordered a cafe mocha and a cheese bagel, right before I drove to work for my long hr drive. I wasnt expecting too much with the coffee, just wanted something to stay awake, and not surprising the coffee was bland and tasted kind of burnish. So knowing that as Im driving to work its time to dig into my bagel. However, unfortunately thats not what I got, I got some kind of weird cheese danish thingie, which I totally do not like and couldnt return back or else I would be late for work. This is a small location so they have a few tables inside and a few tables outside. On top of that it averaged out to about 1 customer per table. So we were out of luck. We sat on the planters outside because all the tables were taken. You can sit outside and stare at the huge crowds in front of Gen or pick out your next food adventure from the shops dotting Main St. The staff was nice. Drinks here are pretty watered down. My java chip frapp was not frapp like at all and wasn't even similar to a slushy; it was just way too watered down. Staff is kinda slow here and there tends to be a line close to the door every time I'm here. And I've come at different times of the day, morning, afternoon, night, you name it. There's still always a long line. Don't bother trying to study here or stay long hours. There's maybe 4 little tables and one bigger table inside and are ALWAYS taken. Parking can also dampen your attempt to stay long since most parking around here is 2 hours only. For better drinks, a place to study and a better parking situation go to the Starbucks on Montebello Blvd. Ps. This goes for ALL Starbucks. How are you going to sell a bottle of water for $2 and only donate $0.05 to providing children in developing countries with clean water? I'd have no problem buying your expensive water if you'd donate more to the children. At least 50% of the proceeds, I mean c'mon I can just ask you for a cup of water instead of buying the stupid bottled one. Hard to find parking during busy hours. Normally the drinks are alright. My only complaint was one time where I ask for easy ice and it was still completely filled. I told the guy what I asked for and all he did was take out the ice and fill it with water right in front of me. Are you serious? The staff is friendly and chill, a plus. The manager, Esteban, is awesome! He's super friendly and will make sure you get what you want, or suggest some of his favorites. The two things I usually get: 1. double shot of espresso over ice with some vanilla sweetner topped off with some half and half. It's the same price if not a few cents cheaper than a tall brewed coffee, but freshly made! 2. Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade. I tried the green tea with the peach sweetner.. meh. It tasted way too flowery for my liking. However, when the lemonade comes to the party, its acidity helps to mellow out the spring time flowers and makes it quite good. New rewards system: no more free syrups, you now need 12 stars to get a free drink or FOOD. You cannot use your free drink/food item credit for the bottled drinks. read more
