Stopped in at the Starbucks in the Bel Air Center on Manzanita to get another 2 bags of chocolate covered espresso beans. I had gotten 2 bags 2-3 weeks ago, and 4 or 5 at a time gives me just the quick energy I need when I hit a slump. I didn't see any so I asked, and was told they were out at that time. I said " ok, I'll check back in a few days". I then asked if I could use the bathroom, and was told it was only for customers and I had to buy something to be able to use the bathroom. I told the woman. "but I came in to buy something, and you were out of what I came in to buy". She was so indifferent. She said"I'm sorry, but it's only for customers, and you have to buy something". I'm 70, on a water pill, and was running errands, and apparently I would have had to buy something I didn't want because they were out of what I did want. The sign listed the manager as "Christine", along with the number, which I tried calling twice. No answer and no voice mail option. I was so disappointed. When I was there before, the ladies behind the counter were so very nice and friendly. I had a wonderful, friendly chat with 2 of them. They weren't there yesterday, 4/21/23. Too bad for this location, but I won't use this Starbucks in the future. read more

Wow, I now remember why I quit going to Starbucks. I was second in line at 4:30 pm on a Sunday. Another customer came in after me, I have yet to order as I am still standing in line waiting to place my order, the cashier walked away from the register and left me standing there. Finally at 4:50 I get to place my order. Now I am waiting while the Barista makes the drink for the customer behind me and the customer infront of me (I have no issue with making the drink that was ordered before me). While waiting for the barista to start my drink I watch her use my empty cup to tap the shelving above her to show the cashier where the protien powder is. I have no words, I am grossed out and irritated. Needless to say, I am at 40 minutes for two lattes, one of which is in a dirty cup. I left and gave the homless guy sitting outside the door the latte cup that tapped the wall. I will NEVER spend a dime again at Starbucks, no matter how desperate I am. read more

4 employees 1 guy making coffee. Was out riding our bikes this day and decided to pop in for a quick bev. We needed one cool coffee and a cup of ice. Let the story begin... Lucius (sp?) was the self proclaimed "guy in charge" when we ordered a triple iced vente mocha and waited for it to be made. Upon receiving the mocha we realized we had forgotten to get the cup of ice. Our good friend Lucius made us go back through the line and 5 min later handed over the cup of ice with a smile like the Cheshire Cat. In short, coffee was great but the service could use a tweak. read more

This place is by far the rudest Starbucks I have ever been to. They don't smile or say hello, they are very monotoned. I have been there multiple times to see if it was just the people working that shift. But this isn't the case, they are all rude. They always mess up the order and get very aggressive when you ask them to fix it. read more

Ordered a Trenti strawberry acai refresher and the ice was filled from the bottom to the lid. There was almost no drink in it, the drink was actually below the ice level. Even when I had drank half of it the ice was nearly touching the lid. This is ridiculous I ordered the largest size and it had as much liquid as maybe a grande. I'm that guy who drinks hot coffee on a 90 degree late summer morning... Starbucks has never been a routine for me, but when I m in a hurry (in need of coffee) this is the location I tend to gravitate toward. I can't say anything about Starbucks that hasn't already been rammed down our throats by Starbucks fanatics, and I don't want to come off as the overly-snobby coffee dude who tells you Starbucks coffee is of average quality (it is), but I will say this... I love their scones! Not a lot of people are into scones, but I love the fresh, flakey, yummy, goodness. Their blueberry scones are my favorite, but occasionally I will settle for the Cranberry Orange scone (when the blueberry is sold out). Delicious! A scone and a Grande Americano (hot) with room for cream is my typical order to go. Contrary to one previous review, there is NO drive-thru at this location, so you have to get your butt out of the car to get your Jo-fix. Inside it is always clean, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Behind the counter they are efficient and methodical, working together as a team, so the line moves quickly. Whenever I am there anyway... That being said, you can easily get in and out faster than going through a drive-thru at a different location. There is plenty of parking because it is in the Bel Air shopping center. Four stars for this Starbucks because it is my favorite location, and I always have a positive experience (knock on wood). It also reminds me of a corner-coffee house in East Anchorage I used to frequent, so maybe I am letting nostalgia dictate my rating a little. Ha! Enjoy your cup! read more

Quiet location which is really nice, the inside is huge but there aren't many tables which can make it difficult to do some work during busy peaks. Plenty of outlets if you need to charge up, but don't hog the table please! Place closes at 8pm too read more

One of my favorite Starbucks. Besides the crazy coots that live in Sacramento trying to become billionaires from their garage talking to "potential investors", this location is great. As per usual the employees are community college students either aspiring to become marine biologist or Hollywood script writers but they're very very friendly. They have decent seating and about 4 tables where power outlets are available which is not too bad for a medium sized location. I can usually find myself a nice corner spot with an outlet. A lot of times homeless people come here because Carmichael has such a mixed socio-economic base of residents and there is always this one guy sitting on the couch smiling at everyone but he's super nice too. Generally a spot for the retired and I kind of like that. read more

Fast, efficient service of very standard Starbucks product. I was here recently and managed to leave my laptop bag complete with brand new notebook on the outside patio. I was sure it was a goner, but one thoughtful employee rescued it for me and held it for me until I figured it out and called them. They finally decided to remodel this Starbucks and during the week it was closed I was anxiously awaiting their reopening to see the changes. Fail! Someone the decor of the store is even more sterile, uncomfortable and for some reason a community table was added where people would/should stand in line. What idiot did that floor plan?! I have been going to this Starbucks cafe for about four years. The baristas there have always been just outstanding during that time. As a result, this Starbucks has a definite friendly and inviting atmosphere ... and the friendly morning regulars contribute to that, too. I have often lingered there for more than an hour. After the great people, I enjoy the quiet location that Aaron B. mentioned in his review, and I like that this Starbucks is larger than most. By the way, besides being friendly, the baristas are right on in making those exotic drinks, too ... so no worries if you have a complex order. I like the atmosphere and location a lot. But when I come in once a week and ask for a "sugar-free" coffee drink there is never any mix made up and on hand. Recently an employee made me feel as if I was putting her out by asking. Her attitude and demeanor toward me immediately changed. I was told she would have to go look and see if they had any in the back, then she told me I was lucky they did. She then said it was going to be a few minutes. It was clear she felt put out! If the sign on the door says we open at 5:00 am then you don't show someone the One Minute with your fingers and make them wait outside the door for another 20 min while you and two other people put stock away and look at me like I'm crazy for showing up 30 minutes after you are supposed to be open. Starbucks is pretty standard, but what makes a cafe different is the customer service. This place, stinks. The baristas on the drive thru are weird - the conversations they start are random & we've had them complain to us about the cars in front of us on more than a few occasions. Last time, I went inside, it took them over 10 minutes to make my green tea frap... After all my other drinks were ready. They weren't busy, the Baristas just would not stop talking as they prepped and stocked the bar with my drink waiting on it... So annoying. If this weren't my neighborhood Starbucks, I'd avoid the lamesauce service. read more
