Ordered my drink and they told me they didn't have it anymore, almost 10 min AFTER they already charged me $5 for it. They offered a different drink and even though I didn't really want a different drink, I took the offer anyway to avoid further difficulties. I was not compensated whatsoever for the inconvenience and the replacement drink sucked ): They should really know ahead of time what ingredients they have before charging the customers for it. Because they did not have the necessary ingredients, they also took a super long time to get me any drink at all, even though the place was pretty much empty. the young guy who works in the afternoons - evening has one thing on his mind, making sure that he orders his pizza before they close.... nevermind getting ur drink, hell their may be 6 people waiting, but by God he will make sure his dinner is ordered/ gf called/friends texted? etc before he gts on that drink order And if something is not in the case you want, like a certain type of pastry, that you know they have in the fridge or more in the back cuz they will find one for you at every other Starbucks except this one, dont bother o ask, cuz "yea nah bra if it isnt in the case we aint got it". Visited Starbucks on Thornton today to grab a quick caffeine fix. I love lattes and macchiatos, but hate the hefty $4+ price tag on each drink. I ordered a double shot espresso over ice with 3 pumps of vanilla to replicate my 'latte', for only $2.75. I also received a sample of their new cold brew, complete with sweetener and milk to taste while waiting for my drink. The cold brew was definitely stronger, but it wasn't my cup of tea (LOL). Wow horrible reviews!! Well, I have pretty low expectations for Starbucks, so the 4 star here is relative. I've been to some sh*tty Starbucks in the past: burnt coffee, cracked/leaky cups, horrible staff. Needless to say I don't really go to ANY Starbucks anymore unless I'm truly desperate (i.e., no Peet's/Coffee Bean/Blue Bottle within a 5 mile range) and must get my coffee fix for the morning. I think I've been to this location 2 or 3 times, and my experiences have been above average. Quick service and non-bitter/burnt coffee. That's all I can ask for! Wish they had more parking that's closer... I always have to end up parking way in the back, and for some reason I'm always at this location when it's raining. read more

I usually pop into Starbucks in the morning. Simple requests; Vente drip and usually a protien pack in the mornings. Pretty consistent and pleasant (some of them). A little sales advise: when you hand your customer their order, say Thank You. It isn't that hard. We like to say Your Welcome :) What keeps customer's coming back is making them feel appreciated for spending their money and time there, because we could gladly spend our time and resources somewhere else. I never thought I'd be writing a review for a chain store like Starbucks...but I am so happy that this particular Starbucks exists in this particular location! Especially since there doesn't seem to be many other coffee spots around. I worked at an elementary school nearby, so caffeine was essential. The staff here are all very friendly and accommodating. My coworkers and I have visited this Starbucks so many times that the staff have started recognizing us - to the point where they can even predict our orders too. Most of the bad reviews are 2 years or older. Maybe they changed their staff throughout the years? I got transferred from running a shop in Fremont to the Newark location. This place is pretty close to my work place and so I go there every morning, the past year or so. SOMETIMES they could be a bit faster in the mornings because I am usually running late to work so getting stalled there 15-25 minutes is HUGE! But their friendliness makes up for it especially since I am not a morning person and am usually very grumpy and also how they always get me my grand china green tips without me even asking :D My coworkers go there a lot too and they always put drinks on the house if they make a mistake or if something goes wrong which makes up for it and shows they care. This review is truly just for their barista, Brandi. She's there in the AM when it's super busy. She's super fast but most importantly, though you can tell she's busy, she'll always greet you and remember your name. She gets a 5 star. The store itself can definitely be a lot cleaner though. I've gotten to know the staff here over the years. I live right down the street so this location is within walking distance. The staff here and owner are always friendly and service is prompt. Some members of the staff have introduced us to secret items on the menu and new drinks and delicious combinations we simply weren't aware of. The location is quaint and small and parking can be tricky (especially backing out) but the staff makes this place fantastic. I would highly recommend getting a drink here. read more

Place is definitely on the noisy side: - I can here the youngish marketing person chatting with the older engineer, the two Filipino guys talking shop, and the baristas barking orders from my corner table - Music projects from the overhead speakers at an intrusive level - Nothing visually interesting outside, unless you like your view to be of barren suburbia Coffee was Starbucks which, surprisingly was the best thing about the place. I have been going to this particular location for years as it is close to work and have seen many, many employees come and go. Sadly, the good ones always leave. Says something about the management, I believe. Well, this was THE WORST service I have ever had at any coffee shop. Busy, sure. Then to make excuses we only have three people working. Call more in. I have worked retail, don't argue with your customer. Offer to make things better with a discount, free item, apologize for the wait. The manager on duty was rude and condescending. Orders are coming in after mine and getting done ahead of mine? Not OK. I don't care if someone is too lazy to walk into the store to order their coffee, their order SHOULD NOT be done before the customer that is standing in front of you. Worse customer service, spent 40 minutes here there were three employees at the counter, there were like 3 customers so it wasn't busy at all we waited 15 minutes for two drinks then they forgot about the rest of our order, we asked them 3 times if the rest of the order was going to be ready soon and they said yes after 20 minutes later we asked the fourth time where the rest of the order was and the guy in the picture said "what order omg what order acted like I was bothering them because he was chatting with his coworker, then he said we don't have that sandwich, at this moment I was so pissed never thought I was going to spend 40 minutes at Starbucks. By the end I left without the sandwich and without a refund because the guy was busy making drinks for his coworker who had just clock out. I understand how tiring it can be sometimes but I have worked in customer service for 5 years and they had no excuse to act like that, the place wasn't busy so if they don't want to work then they shouldn't work there, they should have at least acted professional and given me a refund or said sorry but they were pissed because we were asking for our drinks. read more

My theory is that this is due to the market next door but there are several other stores so who knows. When you get lucky you get lucky. The staff is always friendly and i don't mind them taking a bit longer on my drink as long as I get what i order. This is really a bad location due to the staff there. I feel bad but I have to be honest and this has been on my conscience for quite some time. They alienate many customers there, while they cling to a few of the regulars. This causes them to mess up orders, or just plain forget what they are doing. It would appear to me that they are not part of the Starbucks "company" plan, as they operate on their own best practices. This place is depressing and low class. As I have written before but it seems to keep getting taken off so I will just keep posting it. This Starbucks started to go uphill for a short while but has really gone back down hill with the new manager not being able to get a handle on this store and on the attitudes of her employee's. the Manager Brandy is young and small and her employee's just stand around and do nothing unless she is babysitting them and actually telling them what to do. If there are no customers they are basically just standing around talking to each other and doing nothing. They half to be told to clean the store and to take out the trash by the manager. No self motivation here or she does it herself. When the store has been open for several hours and not busy and then Brandy comes in she is the one putting up the umbrella's outside when this should have been done by her other employee's already PRETTY SAD THAT SHE IS PAYING THEM AND SHE HAS TO BABYSIT THEM AND THEIR ATTITUDES I was yelled at for making my coffee drinks for the way I have been making them for the past 5 years and they had a problem with that and Brit screamed at me from across the whole store that I would no longer be serviced or be given anymore product and I can call corporate all I want. I wasn't going to stoop to her level and argue back. Corporate already knows that I have been making my coffee this way for years as does the manager and corporate has no problems with it so why should the employees I paid for my coffee and its refills and its not coming out of their pocket. you are just peons and there to do a job and not to criticize your paying customers and to threaten. Learn your place in your jobs or go get a job where you are happy with and not going to take it out on a paying customer. Besides you only fill up you canisters half way and during the busiest of day. Do you really think that is a smart idea. NOT Not to mention that the employees stand around and talk to each other about their schedules and what they hate about their jobs right in front of the customers and are barely interactive with all customers especially in the morning. A smile and a thank you will get you a long way in this business. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY OR COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR JOBS CHRIS, RUBEN, BRIT OR THE BLACK GIRL IN THE MORNING THEN LEAVE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR HAPPINESS AND THEN ALLOW PEOPLE WHO REALLY WANT TO WORK HERE AND BE HAPPY TO HELP CUSTOMER IN TO DO THE PROPER JOB BELIEVE ME EVERYONE'S LIFE WILL BE SO MUCH HAPPIER oh and who wants to go to a Starbucks where there are pictures of filthy floors and garbage bags on table and dirty tables and drunks sleeping in your chairs and not to mention the police arresting someone at your store. This was not my first time but my second time being yelled at by the staff for using too much of their products and since I was a gold member and getting too many refills this time they told me that they were refusing to let me have anymore bar products to make my drinks with and Brit yelled this to me from across the store. I told her I wasn't going to argue with her and I wasn't afraid of her. I should have used my phone to record her harassment. Since the new manager Brandy (who I WAS a personal friend of) has taken over this store isn't any better although she is working hard at trying but she cant do it alone and unless she orders her staff to do something they just stand around doing nothing. My company recently moved to Newark and I was very happy to find this Starbucks so close to my job we have many company functions and always buy coffee for them, I have come in here several times at different times of the day and EVERY single time they have gotten my drink WRONG, I always have to wait for my snack and today when several people after me were getting there drink & snack before me when I asked she rolled her eyes at me and rudely said you have to ask them over there pointing to the nice kid at the register. The baristas make a good drink and they're usually very upbeat and friendly. I don't ever pay attention to how fast they are because that doesn't really matter to me. The parking is hard to come by and sometimes people park illegally behind you and it makes it very difficult to get out. I wish something would be done about this problem.
