The drinks were good, but the atmosphere could have been better, since it is so close to Hotel Lido. Service was okay, but not really any really pleansantries were exchanged. I like This Starbucks that mixed with Lido Vibes. There is a parking for Starbucks eveb though its for short time but if you are lucky enough you can find a parking lot if its not too busy. If not you are supposed to walk to main parking lot in Lido. This Starbucks is one of the chilled and laid back one. The foot traffic is normal in week days. They have great pastries and in this location it's very fresh. I love Frappe and most of the time its what i get...Also, the restroom is very clean and the code is written on the door. Service and communication needs major improvement. Nobody said anything to me after I walked in and stood by the register. They were all chatting and joking with each other. Granted, they were wiping & cleaning stuff, but when a fee others walked in, they said hello and "I will be right with you" to them. I decided to order on the app instead, and no mention of my name or placing my drink towards the customer side of the counter. Living on the peninsula, the Starbucks in Via Lido is our go-to location. I usually grab my fix in the mornings, & the service/staff is very sweet and greet me with smile. So I came into the Starbucks and there are usually people here places totally clean restroom spotless store immaculate got greeted as I was walking in the door. I wasn't even fully inside yet and I loved every minute of it. The store manager Jess is someone that you have to meet. She is so sweet so kind very polite and nice Elase like forever and today I got to watch her instruct her employees while I was eating my food and listen a little bit. I've always had quick and great service at this location. Parking isn't a problem since the lot is set aside for patrons of this particular area of Lido. This location recently got a full refurbishment, in which they did away with all the interior seating (unfortunate). There are a few tables outside, still. The drinks are consistent here, which I feel is pretty standard at most Starbucks. Ben and Sophie were awesome on my latest visit! Super friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. During a recent visit to this location, a young man named Josh, was my attending barista. I have to say he was the rudest most unprofessional barista I have ever came across. I never leave reviews for Starbucks but I just had to after my experience at this place! I came to this Starbucks for an afternoon pick me upper on a Saturday so I thought it'd be busy but it was empty. The two baristas in here were the friendliest baristas I've encountered at a Starbucks! My drink (mango dragonfruit refresher) wasn't made yet as I ordered on the app like 30 seconds before walking into the store but they made it quickly for me when I walked in. They also added in some lemonade for me that the app said wasn't available online! This was great and I loved that they went above and beyond to make sure I had a drink I like. One of the worst Starbucks in the chain. You would think that at Newport Beach they would have nicer place, but I get the feeling that peeps on the Balboa Peninsula don't want them here--they are the bastard stepchild so they gave them a crappy hidden location that has one of the worst feels ever for a Starbucks I have seen. Even the people that work here seem angry that they don't have a better location. I asked her about what something was on the menu and the response I got was, "I don't know, I never had it." Service was mediocre at best--gave me the feeling that I don't want to return to this location if I can help it. It does not feel good to sit outside here either. My biggest complaint is outside there is the Car Cowboy actively tracking all the cars and trying to get people towed if they leave the center I am afraid they will tow my car when I am inside not knowing I'm in the center. Love this starbucks. i come here everyday. However, the new Hispanic barista with tattoos is Sooo rude. She denies serving me matcha sometimes, claiming "we don't have any today." Then, the next customer after me will order a matcha and she will serve them!! On top of that she never greets me or smiles. I've never been to a Starbucks that gets things wrong as consistently as this Starbucks does. Just awful. We get coffee every weekday and 4 out of the 5 days it's wrong. I'm not talking they forgot my stevia or gave me the wrong size ie made it hot instead of cold type mix ups. The new one today was they told me they couldn't make my drink a venti even though I've ordered the EXACT same drink in a VENTI there many many times- and at the Starbucks by my house and somehow that store always seems to get it right. This is a busy location with easy parking- which is great. However, my frustration is with mobile ordering here. Not once, in the last 2 weeks I've been going here, has my mobile order been ready when I arrive. I order about 10 minutes before arriving, for reference. Additionally, there have been 3 times where they failed to complete my order (i.e. they have one item ready but never get the second item ready). Co-worker went in second day for same drink. Yesterday the drink was about 2" from top and very mild. No espresso or maple pecan flavor... just tasted warm milk. Today she complained, they added 2 extra pumps of maple pecan syrup... so it was more like super sweet warm milk. She asked me add this review as she does not have yelp! Bummer... usually don't have issues but my drink was input incorrect. I caught them attempting to make my green tea latte hot and I said it was supposed to be iced. Then I got a grande when I ordered a Venti, I know I was charged for Venti as for I got the same order prior day and it was made correct. The girl taking orders was clearly training, and not only got mine wrong but others and manager did not pull her or have someone assist, she was busy training another employee or talking with one. When there is a line building and multiple drinks have gone wrong, attentive to that manager should put experiences and let trainees watch, not throw them into the fire at the sacrifice of customers. I am in management and training is hard and you want newbies to learn but you also don't want to sacrifice customer service and guest happiness. BEST STARBUCKS EVER! The staff is so sweet and friendly. Their barista Paige helped me make up my own secret menu item and it was delicious! (A trenta mango-dragon fruit drink, no dragon fruit, and substitute peach juice instead of water) The secret is don't shake it. Put the mango in the cup first, then ice, and then peach tea! I should have taken a picture because it looked like a beautiful sunset. Paige was incredibly patient as I tried at least six drinks until we made "The Sunset".
