The Starbucks to come to, it's large with lots of seating indoor and outdoor and even has a meeting room that you can reserve by buying at least $50 in gift cards. I take away a couple stars and am motivated to post because one of the baristas is SLAMMING equipment down or slamming shut the ice cover or something, WHAM!!!, OVER and OVER, it is SO LOUD, very startling when I'm trying to get some work done. As I'm heading out (one WHAM!! too many) one customer is asking the same barista, "Excuse me, I've been standing here for a long time. Is my drink ready? [Is shown drink on counter] Why didn't you call my name?!" Barista said, "I called out the drink!" smh .. If the name was asked for, call out the name! Hasn't happened to me in a while. I was almost delighted! For years I avoided Starbucks because I just drink black coffee: Plain old black coffee. And for years Starbucks had the worst black coffee in the biz. It was burned-tasting, probably over-roasted in some effort to cut the sweetness of the tons of sugar most people want in their coffee confections. So when I'd go to Starbucks and they'd cheerily ask "what can I get started for you?" I'd just say "medium coffee, black" and usually they couldn't understand. Then I got attitude. I got sick of it. I stayed away in droves. But then they came out with that Pikes Place© branded stuff (everything needs to have a brand. Intellectual capital and all that) and it was ok and they stopped giving me attitude when I'd order it. Maybe Starbucks could be a coffee destination for me once again. So it was with some delight that my order at the drive-thru speaker was greeted with a pause and soft-voiced incredulity. When I rolled up to the window, $2.50 in hand, I beheld the almost-offended haughty visage of a tattooed coffee artisan, who handed me a cup almost without making eye contact. "Two-eleven" he said, flatly. I handed him the money and said "keep it", trying to smooth over the poor dear's rankled nerves. But an artist, once offended, can't be assuaged with a mere tuppence. He said nothing and retreated to his lair behind the window, obviously there to ponder the banality of the philistine he had just encountered. And I was delighted. New and clean Starbucks. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy when the weather is nice. The closed study room is a nice idea but sounds from main room echo through it. I wore headphones to cancel the noise. I also found the long bar table to be too close to the register. Too much traffic and noise to get much work done there. Also, the table chairs are not cushioned and pretty uncomfortable. There seems to be underutilized open space. This is your typical Starbucks with the typical menu, however, it's not a very typical set up. I was really impressed with this place, although the location next to a main road doesn't make it as appealing as a spot in cool section of the city. Considering that I have yet to see a cool section of Phoenix during my visits. The pros: 1. Fantastic wifi. They use Google for their network and it works perfectly. No lag, no long loading times. Just perfect. Why don't all Starbucks use Google for their internet? 2. Very cool decor. I really liked the small room where people could get together for a lunch or evening meeting. Gave it a very official feeling. 3. Nice staff. Made the drinks just the right way. The cons: 1. Not a fan of the location next to a main road. Has that strip mall ambiance going for it. 11 minutes for a mobile order! Basic Grande latte. Ridiculous, they make the drive thru orders first to keep the cars flowing and less wait time in the drive. Gotta make their numbers of wait time low, so they delay mobiles. read more

When I heard they were making that old bank into a Starbucks, I couldn't have been more happier. I volunteer at the school down the street from the Starbucks so I visit this one about two times a week. I'm practically considered a regular since they already know my name and know what I want since I get the same thing every time. The place is very spacious, not your average sized Starbucks. It has a variety of seating options and a nice outdoor seating area. The staff is very friendly and always greet everyone with a smile. It's very refreshing to have that on an early Monday morning. The only complaint I have is that there's this one barista (can't remember her name) who messes up my order whenever she takes it. I understand once, maybe twice, but not every time. Luckily the baristas who know me and what I order ask if it's correct which is really appreciated. This has to be my favorite Starbucks. I live just down the street from another one, but I prefer to travel down to that side of town to see a friendly familiar face and a good drink. read more

I am giving them two stars not because of the coffee. I enjoyed their coffee, there are some small coffee shops that I prefer, but whenever I go to Starbucks I know I'm going to get a nice hearty cup. They sent me a coupon to have a free breakfast this morning. So I had a sausage, egg, cheese English muffin. I don't often eat these but from time to time I will break down and get one from McDonald's. The cost of the Starbucks McMuffin is much higher then the McDonals and it is nowhere near as tasty. Confused by so many bad reviews on this location.I go to this Starbucks almost daily and usually at peak times too and the line always moves quickly! The line is incredibly long at times but that's not at the fault of this location or it's employees. I always enjoy getting my coffee from here. Probably the best interior of a Starbucks I've ever seen. It's stylish, huge, had a conference room you can rent out that seats 6. Totally cool. But I see 5 people behind the counter and only 1 of them making drinks when there's a line over flowing the drive through and 5 people inside waiting for drinks (not even at the register, already paid and waiting). Needless to say the wait time between the register and having a drink in my hand was significantly longer than usual for a Starbucks. read more

This review is solely on the drive through. Out of all the starbucks I've been through this one on 28th st and Indian school hands-down was the most unpleasant experience I've had. From dropping change to "we'll deal with you in a little" and even a unpleasant release a breath basically stating that she didn't want to add on cheese danish to my order was not very welcoming that being said. I love this Starbucks, have been coming here almost daily (M-F) for years. Great location, and the building is beautiful, it was a bank when it was first built (the vault is used for storage!). The inside is big and comfortable, and the covered patio is great when the weather is nice. It also has a drive thru. The very best thing about this Starbucks is the service. All the baristas are very friendly and always have a smile on their faces, even when they're busy. Always get my order right. The layout and architecture of this Starbucks makes it a great place to work or read. It's very different than any other Starbucks I've been in. I've been here multiple times and the people that work there are always very nice and accommodating. Not only that, professional. I was there in the evening one time and some kids were being very loud both outside and inside. After about ten minutes they told them they needed to go. Honestly this Sbux consistently has the slowest service of any sbux I've been to. Drive through is slow, counter is slow. I'm sure the coffee is decent but the drive through hinders the ability of flowing traffic in the parking lot every time I visit the shopping plaza. Everytime I come into this Starbucks location it is a Filthy mess! I have been coming to this location for months and months. Today I ordered a Trenta Very Berry Hibiscus and they did not know to do a Trenta tea refill for me after they have been doing it for months and months. I also like that this is a "Reserve" store, and tried the Hawaiian variety, which was excellent. . . . Because our meeting involved 8 people, we "rented" their meeting room, which can be secured for a $50 gift card purchase (which is really no cost for a Starbucks regular). . . . They make good drinks and take your order quickly. However, you then have to wait as they make all the drinks for the drive thru first. So far I have been waiting 10 minutes and still have someone in front waiting for his coffee, when I can see that not only have 4 cars gone by in the drive thru including the truck that pulled in after I came in and ordered. I don't mind waiting but I think the customer service should be equal. They did wish me a happy New Year though and apologized for the wait. read more
