Updated review on my go to Starbucks! Quality of their food and beverages are good. I will say though, they dropped the ball once where they delayed making my drinks one time after ordering ahead in the mobile app. I was almost late to work because of them. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the variety of new beverages this year. A lot of matcha variations and coconut flavors along with ube. Feels like they've incorporated more Asian inspired flavors. I've also grown to love a lot of their pastries like the cheese danish and ham & cheese croissant. Overall very happy to return. read more

Very rude customer service here! I placed a mobile order for a beverage. While waiting I observed other customers being greeted and acknowledged. Not me for some reason. Even after my drink was ready they just placed it on the counter and didn't say my name or my drink but they did for others' orders! My drink was ok but poor service is enough for me to not return to a business. read more

Everyone is very friendly at this location. The orders are always accurate and tasty. S I'm deducting one star because this location is usually delayed with app orders. The baristas all work very hard so I'm not saying it's the employees being lazy because they are not. Rather, I think this location needs to find a balance between online ordering and in person customers. Folks place orders online to save time, not to wait around while multiple customers who walk in are served lickety split. Hiring more staff may help with this. Even if it is just one more person for the busy morning shift. read more

Well it's been 8 years since I last reviewed this SBX location. Bad news: the adjoining Barnes & Noble is long gone, replaced by Burlington, and the rest of Montrose Crossing Shopping Center has changed quite a bit as well. Some new eating establishments (yay) but less interesting shopping/retail places (boo). All to say that as a result, this SBX location is now even more one of location and chance convenience. Oddly enough, the service is now much improved from prior years: staff are friendly, while drinks are still sometimes slow they are also sometimes more on par with the typical wait times at other Starbucks locations. Maybe the staff here were overtaxed more than folks realized when it was attached to the bookstore (maybe the bookstore patrons were jerks). read more

A New Yorker is rating this location. They have enough space outside and inside. I guess a cashier was new so it took a little while and some miscommunications.... :( baristas are pretty friendly. Two bathroom inside. Some sales items (Starbucks original cups) are sold here. Oat milk and half and half for the self-services. I've been here a few times at this SB that is located next to Barnes & Noble (Montrose Crossing Plaza) & it's always a good visit. The store & restroom stays in a tidy fashion & the customer service is on high mark. This is one of the busier locations on the Pike with limited seating, yet if the weather is nice you can find a few seats on the mini make shift patio. The employees works well together & regardless of who's working where, everyone crosses over to ensure the customers are well taking care of. Bravo to the Barristers. read more

If you want to go to the library to read book, go for it. For me I prefer any Starbucks to get connected while I enjoying a hot or cold brewery. This place is great, always clean, all sugar bags refilled, they recognize you, fast service. Great place. For me, I love any place that keep every corner clean, if they keep outside cleaned I'm pretty they are clean inside too. Whoever's working there they always friendly and very professionals, sometimes I think that those people should ran the government lol for real, they are really good serving the community. This particular Starbucks is located in the Montrose Crossing shopping plaza, connected to the B&N. I love the dome, as it reminds me of the planetarium building back at home! The quarters are a little tight, as it is a smaller circular building, but most seem to take their beverages to go. The baristas here are friendly, and they call out your name for the order in a loud, articulate way, even greeting you farewell. I had requested my beverage to be extra hot, but it wasn't, and the latte itself was slightly watered down. I do wish that they wipe-down the tables, the counters, and the station where you get napkins/straws, as it was pretty sticky and untidy. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STARBUCKS LOCATION! I've been a 20+ year gold card customer of Starbucks in the Montgomery County area and this is the first time I'm writing a negative review about a Starbucks store. I've had problems doing business at this store in particular over the years from poor service, bad attitude and improper training and in my first time back to this store in over a year had a terrible ordeal nightmare situation. When employee didn't know how to save my order to reload my gold card I called for supervisor Mima who took my $20 bill without keying in the amount on purchase when I asked to load $5, then forgets what I gave her, then can't find the transaction on her registers and can't open her registers to give me proper $15 change all while having a nasty attitude. After this gets worse and the manager Ace is witnessing the situation I had to ask repeatedly for his assistance when as GM he wasn't able to find the transaction and forced me to wait in the store 30" to count his till in order to give me my proper change. How is it possible a supervisor and GM cannot find transactions on their registers from 5" ago when they're staring at my receipt?? To top it off, he doesn't post his District Manager's business card as is corporate policy and when I ask for name and number of his DM he refuses telling me to call the (800) number to add to my ordeal. It's not till I get his DM's name JR from another store manager that he relents and gives me his card he keeps in his office. He doesn't have his own cards. I call to report to JR who can't keep basic facts of the matter straight after speaking with his store GM and continues claiming he's not required to have his card on display against corporate policy. He doesn't have the decency to offer thanks for the hour of my time to escalate to his attention nor offer any consideration for the 2-hour ordeal on my Saturday afternoon. He is clearly not fit to be DM when there is basic mismanagement at his store! Starbucks has missed this store for basic operational requirements that all retail stores must be able to maintain. AVOID THIS STARBUCKS - THERE ARE BETTER STARBUCKS IN THE AREA!!! read more

Store is clean and well stocked. Wish there was more sitting geared to a bigger group but honestly ample sitting for a coffee shop. Barista was prompt and well informed of drink components and recipes. Took our order with a bright smile and cheerful tone which is always a plus. Shop is clean as well as the back bar which is something I like to consider. This location is very busy so it's hard to think of coming here to do work but a lot of folks do it so it's really not that bad. Ya know how each Starbucks has it's own personality. Like, when I'm thinking of which Starbucks to go work at, I'm like.. how do I feel today? Do I just want to be left alone? Do I want to be in the middle of everything? Do I wan't horrible service? This is the Starbucks that is located in the Barnes and Noble. It's really separate, but people treat it as if it were attached. There is a little beepy gate thing that connects the Starbucks into the book store. You can't just bring books that haven't been purchased and use it as a library though. No no no. As Leslie Knope would say: "Pawnee's Library Department is the most diabolical, ruthless bunch of bureaucrats I've ever seen. They're like a biker gang. But instead of shotguns and crystal meth, they use political savy and 'sush'-ing" -Leslie" Anyways, this Starbucks is completely round... which is a nightmare for the layout of tables. I really dislike round rooms. I don't think round furniture comfortable, or tables, and it is annoying to decorate. Round is so 2001. Never have I been in this Starbucks and there was more than one open seat though, and usually there are no open seats. You have to hover like a turkey vulture and wait for one of patrons to keel over and/or leave their seat. The service is always super cold. Maybe cause they are overworked and underpaid, but come on- we've all been there. You still have to smile and be welcoming. This is probably the next to last Starbucks that I would choose to go to. One day, I will make a comprehensive list of my suggested Starbucks's. A great service to the community. Man, I just love giving back. read more

Starbucks definitely has the best new flavors of coffee beverages to tempt the tired shopper into a caffeine cornucopia. It was late in the day and my friend and I wandered in to look around. The new vanilla macchiato sounded to good to pass up. We ordered our grande coffees and the pleasant barista went to work on our order. The drinks had the sweet taste of vanilla with the topping of caramel. It was sinfully sweet,hot, and comforting. We polished off our drinks and went to wander around the store. Cute mugs and delicious baked goods surrounded us in every flavor and color. We had seats in the store overlooking the parking lot. There were people working on their computers or talking with friends. We wandered into the bookstore feeling satisfied and rejuvenated. It has a circular layout with a big communal work table in the middle and seating all along the windows. This isn't really the most efficient seating, and even though I came midday on a weekday, there was hardly any seats available. Not the best if you're looking for a place to hangout and get some work done. The baristas were nice, though. I didn't run into any of the cold baristas mentioned by other reviews. You inevitably end up visiting this Starbucks way more than normal because it's one of the only ones in the area that's open until 11pm everyday, even weekdays. Since I freelance, I don't commute in the mornings and can't confirm the weekday warrior status. But it's definitely weak sauce on the weekends and late at night. I don't think I ever see the same baristas more than once or twice, and the number of times I've had an incorrect order (on something like a grande latte) is staggering. read more

I generally have a wonderful experience at Starbucks. Unfortunately at this one they never have caramel. Worst of all the caramel has not been restocked in about a week which overall is disappointing, because its Starbucks. Who is not a fan of Starbucks Coffee then again you never know but this reviewer is a huge fan of the company and it's sweet coffee, holiday, and tea drinks. Doesn't hurt that every once and a while I grab a quick cookie and/or marshmallow treat. I used to frequent this spot consistently several years ago when I worked at Mikasa (yeah I am dating myself here a bit) and love their passion tea and was outright addicted to their caramel macchiato (don't be stingy with the pumps the sweeter the better). Fast forward with several diet changes, long gone are the cookie and marshmallow treats (the passion tea gets a pass) and my last indulgence was the Caramel Flan latte (no complaints). I also have no complaints about their service. They get me in and out, friendly, call me by my first name, and the drinks are made to order so if I need to make any corrections last minute if need be. This is a nice place to study or have a nice cup of overpriced coffee after perusing books at B&N. It's okay, I'm a sucker for those red cups too :) Plenty of small tables and a large communal one in the center. Lots of sunlight coming in through the windows which I appreciate, because most Starbucks seem to be so dark and gloomy-like. The staff was friendly and it wasn't too long of a wait for drinks. Usually I don't have any complaints on service but the last time I came, the chick who rang me up was really surly and I couldn't help feel like maybe I was just ruining her day by wanting to order a cup of coffee. Great location and great late hours. Came in here Tuesday night, staff started cleaning about 20 minutes before closing. All the unoccupied seats were being placed above the tables. One staff member started announcing that they were closing and for everyone to leave. Shouldn't you wait until the last customer has left and hours of operation have passed to start cleaning up? I come to this location often, as it's the closest to me since I live across the street from it. Let me say, convenience doesn't always equate to greatness... This location is ALWAYS busy. It's always packed with people, most of whom come in and sit for hours on end, not ordering anything except free water and sitting around using the free wifi...taking up space that myself and other paying customers should be able to have first since we actually PURCHASE drinks and/or food! There is a tall guy who works there, who may be a manager who is always rude. A few of the staff members are actually just unprofessional. Store is dirty, especially the bathrooms.
