We waited in line and i noticed they had their mugs sitting on a display shelf while you waited. It had a California mug and a Sacramento State one. We are downtown near the Capitol so having some Sacramento merc was nice for the out of towners. the line to order was a little long , we should of ordered on the app which would of been faster oh well. Adj: Chill and Comfortable This Starbucks is a really popular one at the corner of 10th & L right across from the West end of the Capitol building. It's been here since the Gerbitus & Sons jewelry store closed a couple of years before 2020. I've been here before, but I guess I never thought to give it a review since Starbucks are everywhere and most of them are quite similar. This particular location is so convenient and a good place for a cup of coffee before work. I stopped by before a work meeting nearby since I was early and the meeting place hadn't open. This is actually a pretty unique Starbucks. It's way bigger than most, and very open and spacious and pretty clean. Plenty of seating at tables all along the windows on both sides of this Starbucks and there's even some lounge seating against one wall. They offer some specialty drinks here such as cold brew on tap that's not available at a standard Starbucks. It looks almost like it's a reserve store here, but it's just a slightly more sophisticated regular Starbucks. I like the selection of merch they have here, definitely more cups, mugs, and tumblers sold here than a standard store. The staff was friendly and quick which I appreciated and although it was bustling on the morning while I was there about 40m, it was still pretty quiet and relaxed so I was able to get some work done before I headed out for my meeting. I occasionally go here with coworkers or by myself when I need a pick me up during work. The workers are always friendly and have great service. It does get crowded mid morning from all the state and capital workers, so sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but I've never waited longer than 5 minutes for my drink. It's pretty clean here as well and has a lot of seating. I see a lot of people in here all the time hanging out and enjoying their drink. This is also the closest Starbucks to where I work so we will still frequent it. read more

On Tuesday, July 29, at approximately 1:00 p.m., I walked into this Starbucks with my daughter and asked for a cup of water while we waited for my phone to charge so I could use the Starbucks app to purchase food for us. I was immediately told no. I have worked at Starbucks myself, and I have never been told to deny anyone a free cup of water, especially in 100-degree weather. That is what made this experience so upsetting. I have always loved Starbucks, but the way I was treated during this visit was completely unacceptable. I left feeling discriminated against. I don't know whether it was because of my skin color, the clothes I was wearing, or another reason, but I cannot understand why I was denied a simple cup of water for myself and my child after explaining that my phone had just died and I was only waiting for it to turn back on so I could place an order. What made the situation even more concerning was what happened afterward. I told my mother about the experience. About an hour later, she went into the same Starbucks, encountered the same employees, and asked for a cup of water. She is of a lighter complexion, and she was given a free cup of water immediately, with no questions asked and no requirement to make a purchase. Based on these experiences, I believe my treatment should be thoroughly investigated. No one should be made to feel singled out or treated differently when asking for something as basic as a cup of water, especially in extreme heat and while accompanied by their child. I will be taking further action because I do not believe anyone should have to experience what I did. read more

How odd that I've never reviewed this Starbucks when this is the one I'm at most frequently in Downtown Sac. Anyways, like any Starbucks, I find they are convenient when I need coffee quickly. It doesn't require any thinking, I just mobile order and there it is - (*poof*) coffee. It's right across from the Capitol, which is nice if you want to stroll around Capital Park with your coffee, but it's not a prime location for driving & parking. There's a good amount of seating. It's located on a corner so there's a decent amount of natural light coming in. Standard Starbucks. Glad One Starbucks Is Still Open! SITREP Since Covid (kinda) ended, it seems in spite of that, rather than reopening, many of the Starbucks around town I used to patronize (Alhambra, Broadway, H Street, etc.) just shut down, or chose to shut down in the interim. My sweet galpal Bambi's gave me a $50 gift card for birthday, not so much as an act of kindness, but because she honestly couldn't find a Starbucks near here anymore that she could conveniently utilize it. Soooo.....she gave it to me! THE SETUP So I opened up my Starbucks smartphone app and added it to my Starbucks wallet. Wondering if I would be able to use it. Wondering, wondering, wondering. Three (3) weeks pass by, and I've been enjoying coffee at most of my favorite coffee haunts when I'm out & about: MAST, The Mill, Temple, Trade & Coworking, etc. etc., any independent that is on my home turf and/or on my work-circuit (that being "The Grid", mainly Midtown and Downtown for me). OH! THAT STARBUCKS! So imagine my surprise I finish a project-meeting at the State Capitol, walk across the street, and right there at 10th & L Streets is a Starbucks! STILL Open! I'm not a fan of the washing your hands to be outside the bathroom but at least they have one. It's been a while since I have been to a Starbucks. I have been in this location a few times before. Went in while waiting for the start of the CA 175th birthday celebration at the capitol. I wanted to try a fall drink other than pumpkin spice and tried the pecan crunch oat latte and that was a great choice. Loved it. I also got the Sacramento Discovery Series mug. This location is great if you work in downtown. It's nestled between various business and state buildings, which makes it convenient if you need a lunchtime pick-me-up. I had the sweetest experience with the employees today. I was looking forward to my customized matcha latte all morning! Then once I got it, I tripped outside and the whole drink spilled out. Beautiful furnishings with warm colors of wood and velour jade green; spacious seatings where one don't feel like we are on top of one another while sipping our drinks. I would have made the experience higher, but I have recently felt a type of way with some of the staff. I would say I am a regular customer as many others are working either at the state capitol or around. I myself, would say I'm a people person. But to be disrespected several times from a shift supervisor in the afternoon is where I draw the line. I had asked a question once regarding the names printed once you pay. She had fully ignored me, another time, she had been super short with me, and the next person in line she was pleasant and everything. I have chosen to do mobile order to not interact with her at this point. As for the other staff, very Respectful and kind. Greet me when I come in and ask how I'm doing. It's nice to be acknowledged and not to feel like I'm nobody. Especially with the world we are living in. As the store manager I would hope you have that conversation with all your Supervisors as they are the ones that set the standards while you aren't in the store. read more

Always busy but the staff are super rude. I ordered a mobile order, walk in at 8:45am today, there's 40 drinks sitting there. Employee greets me and avoids eye contact. I asked if my drink was ready, and the employee says, "if it's ready, it would be sitting right here." All of the drinks have the names facing inward, toward the wall - not front facing where customers can see it. I mentioned that I wasn't gonna touch every single cup to find mine at which time the employee started twisting around some cups and found my drink and handed it to me. The employees attitude was very condescending and I was a big inconvenience for them. A HUGE HUGE thank you to Ana. I had just gotten out of the hospital with my two year old son who went through a lot. He was extremely fussy and would not stop screaming inside. I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed. She came and gave him a pouch and a water. I felt so out of place and was in a rough place to begin with. I had no comfort and when she showed all this empathy and compassion, it was hard to not to cry. She hugged me and said a lot of comforting words. A stranger didn't have to be there for me (especially considering everyone was just staring at me, uncomfortably, making faces). Not a lot of people willingly show compassion to strangers. Hello, I would have to say that this is one of the best Starbucks locations I have ever visited. I start work early in the morning so I always need some coffee, and this particular location is the closest one to my place. The morning team here is tremendous. They are always happy to help you with whatever you need even though they are always busy. The customer service deserves more than 5 stars for sure. The parking lot is huge so even if you are hauling a trailer behind you. You can always park there and get some coffee, But I wouldn't suggest going there with a trailer past 8 am because the parking lot will be pretty much full. The interior is well maintained and clean. They have recently done their remodeling inside so it looks pretty legit. Restrooms are clean and also well maintained. This place is nice if you want to come here and do your college homework or just work on your computer. I would highly recommend visiting this place. This is one good looking Starbucks location! The inside is very specious and has an inviting atmosphere with nice places to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. The barista that took my order was very friendly, and coming in at a slower time today, engaged me in some good conversation. I really appreciated that and enjoyed my visit here. I'm sure that during peak hours this location will probably get quite busy as it is right across the street from the State Capitol. In terms of its selection of food and coffee, this is your typical Starbucks location and you really should know what to expect here. I will say that I ordered a blonde roast and the drink had a bit of a burn taste to it. It wasn't terrible, but it could have been better.
