Have been to this location only a handful of times, as my doctors office is nearby. The staff has always been friendly and super quick in getting my order out, sometimes before I even am able to read anything on the corkboard for events and news. This store is always clean, although I don't recall ordering food, everything is nicely presented. No drive thru at this location, but plenty of parking around the standalone building. When I visited there were only about two others waiting for drinks. There were 3 people who appeared to be on shift but only one woman making drinks with extra love.... It took quite some time for my drink to come out- over 10 min and no one offered her help. When I finally got my drink I had to run out of there. I always order the "Non-dairy vanilla sweet cream cold brew" which is a signature drink of theirs. When I finally took a sip of it at my destination it was made with no vanilla and with breve which is not dairy free. Sad to say I had to toss it after all my time commitment to it. read more

While the barista is making my (cold) drink I realized I had forgotten to tell the cashier I like it in a glass. I asked her could I get thy in a glass. She pointed to the cashier and said: "He can help you over there." I pointed it's the one the was about to pour in to a plastic cup. All she did was repeat "He can help you over there." So I walked over to "He" asked to have it on a glass, he turns to the barista and says "put it in a glass." What??? Was I not speaking English? I've order from this place multiple times. Every time I order a hot drink they mess it up. I don't want to be rude but I used to work at Starbucks. You are suppose to fill the cup all the way. When I called I was told that my drink was made correctly and that I was wrong by the manager! Who made my drink. As a manager you should know how to make a drink correctly. I had the cup in my hand, I had not taken a sip and I was wrong? The second time it happened I didn't even call. Why would I want to argue with people who call me a liar? Why am I going to spend $6 on a drink that's not done correctly. I'm never going to this location again. The customer service was horrible and they can't even make a drink correctly. I hope you retrain your staff because they clearly don't know how to make a drink and then blame their issues on the customer. read more

I love this Starbucks! Most are pretty good, but this one is special! I went in on a busy Saturday morning to enjoy some coffee and jump on a conference call. Took my laptop out, had the call, and left my laptop there. I didn't notice for a few hours. Immediately drove down there. A sweet barista helped me. The manager found it outside where I had been sitting and kept it safe until the owner returned for it. It was a miracle it was not taken because it was busy in and outside. I was grateful for the manager finding it and the barista, Alicia, was very thoughtful and helpful. She had helped me the day before too when I ordered a drink to find my bf had my debit card and I did it have it linked to Apple Pay or Starbucks. I had $5. I apologized and asked to cancel my order. She said it's happy hour and 50% off drink for the next 10 minutes. What a lifesaver! Thank you! read more

I work across the street from this location and myself and my colleagues will sometimes walk over here for coffee in the morning. Today I used the app to order a venti matcha latte, tall chai latte, and egg white bites. We picked up our order and walked back across the street with 5 minutes to spare before our first meeting. I took a big gulp of my (much needed) matcha latte and tasted....chocolate?!? That's when I realized that they made, what I assume is, a MOCHA latte for my order. I'm in meetings for the rest of the day, so I called the store to see if they could write my name down to replace the drink when I'm back in the office on Monday. The employee on the phone told me I could bring the drink back today or tomorrow for a replacement. I told her I'm in meetings all day and live in east county so won't be in the area tomorrow for a replacement. She told me they will only replace incorrect orders on the day of or day after, no exceptions. These people charged me $6+ for the wrong drink (I HATE mocha lattes) and wouldn't even write my name down on a list to replace it when I'm actually back at work on Monday. One of my colleagues felt so bad for me, she actually took the drink and walked it over there herself since I'm in meetings all day and she isn't. Had my first Starbucks NITRO Cold brew on site at the Clairemont Mesa Blvd and Shawline location in San Diego today. Was thinking when I walked into the Starbucks store of ordering my first Nitro Brew. At server recommendation, I ordered the cold Grande Starbucks Nitro Brew with "Vanilla Crème". It is the "India Pale Ale of Coffees". Fantastic! A fabulous refreshment to kick-off an energetic spirit to last all afternoon. Thank you Starbucks! You did it again! Made me love you. Despite the caffeine, the peaceful atmosphere surrounded from the moment I walked in. What a great place. Would have included a photo but wouldn't you know it.... I had a green iced matcha latte from this Starbucks. It was pretty well made by the friendly young lady behind the counter. I asked her to try to go not to sweet and she hooked me up. However, they need to work on keeping up with cleaning. The trash can in the restroom was over filled which caused for trash to scattere on the floor and the tables outside on the patio needed a good wipe down, and floor. One of the busiest Starbucks I know. There's always a line and there's NO DRIVE THRU...why???! The parking area is shared and it's compact, so compact you have to ask your passengers to get out of the car before you can even park your vehicle. Then you have to hold your breath and squeeze yourself out of the car. There's been a couple of times I ordered a grande vanilla latte (hot) and 75% of my drink is foam. I feel I get charged for a grande size but only got a tall size portion in a grande cup filled with foam, Not cool!!! There are also a lot of homeless people (with laptops) who spend hours hanging out here to use the free WIFI. Ok, let me rephrase that... I'm not sure if they are really homeless but they sure look like it. So don't even bother to try to sit here and enjoy your coffee, there are no seats available. Unless, you want to sun bathe outside their patio sitting with the other set of homeless people without laptops. But be prepared if they ask for money. If you say you don't have any money they will ask "so how were you able to buy your drink?" Haha read more

Smaller Starbucks compared to other locations. The location is located off Clairemont Mesa Blvd in the same parking lot as Verizon wireless, McDonald's and chipotle. Can be extremely hectic during the morning rush. Quite tight inside limited sitting tables inside but the staff keeps it really tidy. Yet they do offer patio seating outside. The baristas do their best to keep the lines moving getting your drink promptly. The staff here is sociable,efficient and customer service driven. My drink has only been incorrect once and even then the barista offered to correct it immediately. That was greatly appreciated. The Blonde espresso shots are delicious!! Very light with a hint of sweetness Periodically the line is going out the door particularly during morning. There's absolutely no standing room while waiting for your drink. Parking isn't the best. Ok so my normal S-bux food orders consist of a toasted Everything bagel with cream cheese or that sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin breakfast sandwich. That's it. I can take or leave the other offerings, especially if they say "GF," "GMO-free," or "Sustainable." I'm not interested. But now me and da wife are vegetarian for the next 3 months. I had an offer for a free entree on my app so decided to stop in to see which non-meat wraps they had avail. Then I saw this huge salad/bowl I've never seen before. It's a Lentils & Vegetables with brown rice protein bowl ($7.50). And it's BOMB. One of the best salad bowl vegetarian dishes I think I've ever had. Good job, Starbucks! Keep making these! read more

I haven't had a problem with the staff nor my drinks here. They're both about as pleasant as can be. I enjoy the friendly service that I receive and I would consider myself a regular. Despite that, and as much as I hate docking stars for this Starbucks, something has to be done with the terrible insect infestation. There are little mosquitos all over the back area where there is a long bar like table with bar stools. If you work back there with your laptop, you are constantly swiping away at flying insects. I'm not sure where they're coming from, but for a place that serves food and beverages, I'm sure there is a health law against insects flying around. When I've reported the problem to the staff, to their credit, they start wiping down the windows and counters. However, the little insects are still flying around. Hard to enjoy the atmosphere due to that. They really need to find the source of their infestation and get an exterminator to treat it. I don't think it's coincidental that their storage cabinets are kept in the same area where those insects are flying around at. And again, that is the only reason that I am docking two stars. Your standard Starbucks - I've dropped by here a couple times before work. I usually get the white chocolate mocha and spinach feta cheese wrap. Most of the time I don't wait too long. And I'm literally there for like 2-3 minutes and then out. There is not a lot of seating mostly because of the size of the store but they have outside seating. I only come here when my car is at Kearny Pearson Ford. Last Saturday, I was exhausted and fell asleep in the waiting room. I decided to get up and walk to Starbucks so that I could wake the heck up!! They remodeled since the last time I was there and I have to say, it looks really nice and spacious in there. I enjoyed hanging out and sipping some awful tasting pour over coffee. I should have ordered a cappuccino. This is my own major complaint about Starbucks. Their coffee was very good when they first started out but unlike Peet's they haven't been able to maintain the quality of their beans. This may sound stupid to a lot of people, but this is probably my favorite Starbucks. To many, one Starbucks is more or less the same as other Starbucks, and that's (more or less) true! One of the hallmark qualities of Starbucks's popularity is their unyielding consistency, no matter where you are. Although this branch is small, with two actual tables (only one of which has an outlet), and a couple of bench-like seats, they make the best drinks! I have no horse in this race, so I don't know how I can be biased, but every time I come here, their cold brews are always sweeter, their lattes are frothier, and their drinks just tend to be stronger. The manager of this store is also very nice. She has a knack for remembering your name, giving you that "coffee house" experience, if you're into that.The staff is also pretty quick at making your drinks, so if you're on the go, this is a god send. read more
