Love to work from here (no more than half an hour, remember the coffee shops should be for drinking and socializing:) after I ship stuff from the post-office located in the same shopping center which is usually on Mondays. Husband I frequent this Starbucks. We've let this go in the past but enough is enough. Always order the same two drinks but found if you ask for extra whipped cream you get 3/4 of a cup of coffee so we stopped that request. Now at least one coffee has no wh. cream. Inconsistency not a good business practice. At time there is so much mocha that the last 1/4 of coffee tastes awful. Could management please rectify this situation or we will take our business elsewhere. read more

Being a regular at Starbucks in the La Jolla location is so convenient because the barista knows your exact order. However, the expresso machine broke today so I stumbled upon a new location. Even though, my first order was incorrect. The manager, Justin went above and beyond in remaking my order and providing rapid and excellent customer service. He was very kind. The only regret I had was not having enough cash to tip the way I wanted to, since this was unexpected. However, I'll be making this my new routine stomping ground. I really actually like this location. I took a bit of a break for awhile and went to the drive through one in Clairemont because my drinks had consistently started tasting different and wrong at this location. Whatever the reason, it's no longer a problem, which is great because this is the closest location to me and just down the street. Tends to be busy I side and outside on the weekends and there's a group of older people who kind of take over the patio regularly. If you plan to get a spot outside, make sure you get there before they do lol. I've actually heard them be rude to other people trying to sit out there bc they were saving seats. It was pretty funny actually. But yeah, the patio doesn't have that much space so keep that in mind. read more

June 7, 2021 at 12:20 p.m. This location has a consistent lousy customer service. I used to frequent this location since it is convenient. There needs to be more training by the employees that they do NOT confirm services offered without authorization FIRST. I called ahead and confirmed that the bag of unopened whole beans purchased was by mistake and if they can either grind the beans or exchange for the same coffee only, ground. The female staff member who I spoke with claimed she didn't tell me I couldn't exchange an unopened bag of their coffee for either grinding it for me or exchange for same, only ground. She asked her supervisor and stated the EXACT OPPOSITE of what she had told me on the phone 10 minutes prior. It was the same party I spoke with on the phone. Just sad that she would waste my time to drive all the way down there only to be told no. I stopped in this particular Starbucks because I was in the area and needed some time to kill before my next adventure. I ordered a grande caffe misto with 2% milk. The misto coffee was right on and it certainly helped pass the time away. It had that familiar robust flavor and smoothness brought on by the hot milk. I took the liberty to complete some work while I was there and their Wi-Fi worked just fine. The employees were nice and quite expedient with their service. Rarely can I find consistently good service in Starbucks or any other coffee venue, so often the 'too cool to be here' vibe is ever prevalent. The Starbucks at Regents and Governor, at the front of a quaint, but busy little strip mall, is different. The Store Manager sets the tone for an all accepting, all loving Captain of the Ship where anyone is allowed on board. Lana is the loving Viking mother, she is the backbone, not only of the store, but in many ways, the community. Her staff follow her, not with the diligence of coffee house employees all sharing in a cool vibe, but of employees of someone who know she has their back. This symbiotic relationship is what sets the tone for a store of good vibes, hard work, and professionalism. If I had a company looking for a leadership style to emulate, I would bring my crew to this store and just have them watch the spectacle that is Lana and staff. No matter how busy they get, no matter what challenges they encounter, they never seem to sweat it, they never break. Because at the core of every order and interaction there is a decency and loyalty we look for at any job, and in any crew. Here, I just happen to find it, in the Starbucks located at Regents and Governor. They have great internet too. read more

My most favorite Starbucks in the area. Considering the location, it does really well. It's one of the larger Starbucks in the area - so more seating than typical. It's also a more older crowd 30's and up - quite a change from the student dominated Statbucks in the 'other' Starbucks. Baristas are super friendly and work together well - I've seen the line outside the places few times and they struggle through the chaos pretty well. I mean, I'd pop a gasket. I'm grumpy when I don't get my coffee fix. So stop ordering the Carmel latte umpachino with 60% Yak milk when you see the line behind you. read more

Terrible experience with shiftleader "Lana". She quick-walked to my table as I was working on my laptop, grabbed my coffee and ice water off a nearby box and hurriedly placed them on my table spilling the coffee (which came within an inch of my carry-bag). And she huffed off. I confronted her about it several minutes later and she said she didn't spill my coffee. I assured her she did. Our verbal exchange was unpleasant as she presents with a confrontive and "militant" personality. I can't imagine anyone working for her or with her. Sadly, I will never return here. Counseling and/or demotion is warranted. I will now make efforts to discuss this matter with a Starbucks regional manager. read more

Horrible service, RUDE employees. Always snarky when you ask for a straw or a cup holder. You can stand for 10 minutes waiting to catch their attention (obviously waiting for a straw) if you attempt to get your own they snap at you. They all seem to be very unhappy. They purposely make a tower of cup holders in front of the straws to deter people from just helping themselves and getting on with their day. With all the crazy in the world. A straw seems quite a tiny request after purchasing a $7 coffee. read more

Amazing Customer service. I have never written a yelp review in my life but i just had to for this. I had a problem with my drink (I ordered wrong) and they fixed it with no problem, even offered extra whipped cream and such. This Starbucks is close to my buddy's house, that's the only reason I would ever go there, convenience. How long does it take take to get an iced coffee together? Or a drip coffee? It shouldn't take THAT long. I don't know if it's the coffee they're using or how long its been sitting in the fridge/pot but the coffee is way too bitter. When I go to this Starbucks I always get my drink in a cup that is one size smaller so I can add a lot of milk and Splenda. Perks, which is a cafe located at UCSD, serve black coffee that tastes burnt (such remark has been echoed by my friends as well). This is how the black coffee at most Starbucks tastes like as well. Something is amiss. I don't mind dark roasted coffee but the burnt taste is hard to overcome. The vanilla latte here are slightly to really watery, depending on which barista makes your coffee. I think this is a weird gap - to go from this intensely burnt tasting black coffee to a sweet and watery specialty drink. I wish they can find a balanced ground, especially because the ubiquitous nature of Starbucks is so convenient. But alas, for the mean time, I will have to drive out of my way to go to Peet's for their vanilla latte. read more

This Starbucks is always changing the interior and it is nice at times but if you're looking for familiarity then don't count on it. That being said it's still a Starbucks and you will find all the green and caffiene your heart desires. I like working here because it is not over-crowded like other starbucks and there are lots of options nearby that you can grab food if you are sititng in for the long haul, I know you bloggers/book writers love sititng in Starbucks. I'm a fan because the customer service is consistently on par and the location is near the 52. Check this Starbucks out for a place to work/meet/read/blog and then yes get coffee. I have to agree with the last reviewer, this place is awesome! It's super close to where I live, the baristas are super nice, and they remember my name (and I've only been going there about a week). The staff also don't make me feel bad when my drink isn't right. They apologize and remake it again. Hey, it's a Starbucks, so you probably are well aware of what's inside and what's on the menu. It's a perfectly normal, standard Starbucks as that goes, and there is some outdoor seating available to boot. What makes this particular Starbucks worthy of a fourth star, in my opinion, is that they have some of the absolute friendliest people on staff here I've ever seen working at any food serving establishment. The shining star of the morning, which is when I tend to get there, is Lauren. She has an unbelievable memory, and if you go there more than a few times she'll know your name. If you have a consistent drink order, she'll probably remember that too. She'll joke around with everyone in line, and leave you feeling positive about the day ahead, now that you've been greeted with a smile (and by name) and handed a big ol' cup of caffeine. read more

I ordered 60 cups of coffee to go and this Starbucks got it right! Hurray for the staff! I chose this Starbucks because it's close to a brunch that I was invited to. I had volunteered to bring the coffee. The Starbucks staff gave me good advice about my options. I chose to order 5 to-go containers which hold twelve 8-ounce cups of coffee per container. I ordered the coffee in advance and chose to pay in advance, and it was all ready when I came to pick it up, along with the cream, cups, and sugar. They got the order exactly right: 2 containers of decaf and 3 containers of regular Sumatra coffee. I chose 5 smaller containers instead of 1 larger container because the smaller containers have insulation which keeps the coffee hotter longer. Also I wanted both regular and decaf. Indeed, the coffee stayed hot for 2 hours until it was gone! It tasted fresh and just the right strength. When I picked up the coffee there wasn't any confusion, and a staff member helped me to load it in my car. I can highly recommend this Starbucks on Governor drive! read more

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm a frequent Starbucks goer and used to live around the area. In desperate need of a cool, relaxing, and enjoyable coffee place in San Diego, I decided to check this one out. Especially with the number of enthusiastic reviews here. I really gave this place some chances. I visited in the morning, around noon, and late afternoon, but every time I got there the store was packed with these old guys, sitting around and ranting about politics. These folks seem to love Starbucks for some reasons, but at least at other San Diego locations they disappear into their suburban homes until noon. I grabbed a seat in the fridge-like cooled down inside of the store (forgot to bring my gloves though) and found myself surrounded by two old white guys, passionately condemning Obama's health care plans. I looked the other way and spotted an innocent mid-aged mom in running clothes. She had to listen to a white-haired retired veteran who apparently thinks Joe Wilson did a great job in Congress. Sorry, just not my thing. I still give it 2 stars because of decent service, cleanliness, and because of the fact that my drip coffee was brewed extra hot, probably to prevent it from turning into iced coffee within a minute. read more
