Came here Christmas eve night about 30 mins before closing. There were a few people inside. After the barista helped the people in front of me, she just walked away and said nothing while two other works continued to close up. Finally a barista asked if I had been helped. When I told her no, she apologized and was really nice to me after that. I got my drinks in a reasonable time. I thought it looked really clean inside. They did, however, turn the lights off (leaving just the lights behind the counter on) when I was still waiting for my drinks. I'm pretty sure they were open for another 20 minutes or so. read more

I genuinely love this Starbucks, not because it's any different than any of the other million Starbucks in the area BUT because the customer service that you'll receive from Kelsey, Z, Rachel, and Ezra is IMPECCABLE and UNMATCHED!! I have been a faithful Starbucks customer for over 12 years and I have NEVER had my name and drink remembered!! They get my cup ready while I am in line and if someone else takes my drink order, they know when something is missing. I absolutely love it! I have never tipped at Starbucks, but I tip at this one. What's SO CRAZY about this Starbucks is that they do this for sooo many customers! I have frequented Starbucks in neighborhoods that I have lived in for a very long time and this is the only crew that has done this! And don't get me wrong, I have received less than perfect service at this Starbucks, but its ONLY when my fantastic four (yes, its corny) is not there. Starbucks on Main Street has always been a good location for me to gather my thoughts to come up with ideas. The people have for the most part been very friendly and helpful. I prefer this Starbucks location as compared the billion other ones because other Starbucks may feel very compact inside. The seating arrangements are very spacious and if you want to study outside there are chairs as well. The drinks seem all familiar when you enter in a Starbucks, they've created a good formula such that all Starbucks has a great taste no matter who makes the drinks. This location looks like it may seat a little under 40 people but have the capability to serve hundreds at any given time. read more

This isn't my first choice starbucks since i'm not in the area but since i started working in WC, i'll usually pick up a mobile order here and there at this location. I have my fiancé pick it up for me since we carpool and he works later so he usually won't check my order just pick it up and drop it off lol. I ordered a food item and they forgot to add something for me. We called them to let them know there was a slight mistake and Max was quick to apologize and make my order correctly. It feels good to be taken care of especially by a business you've been going too for as long as you can remember. One of the busiest Starbucks that I have been to in the area (rightfully so), and sure they seem to run out of their sandwiches and bakery goodies quite often. This Starbucks by itself probably deserves a higher rating, but given the one major contentious issue, I'd very comfortably rate it at the lowest possible rating. The reason being the obnoxious homeless man who positions himself on/by the chairs meant for customers outside! The fellow has apparently moved himself from his habitat outside Pottery Barn, to take over the chairs here, and continues 'demanding' money from 'women' that walk by, over and over again. This is a very aggressive panhandler. Giving him an occasional dollar only made it much worse. The pervert seems to think that women are pretty gullible, so he should *demand* money from them - as in: 'Hey lady! Come over here. Do you have a dollar?'. Complete travesty, and can't help but feel disgusted every time I have to take a detour to avoid walking by this pathetic human. Good job to the manager of this Starbucks. Keep overlooking (intentionally?) these obnoxious homeless people, and let them partake of the chairs meant for customers outside. Who needs customers anyway? Starbucks comes in very handy in this corporate world of mine during the day. I live two lives the corporate stiff tie suit wearing one, and the I like late nights, parties that define PARTY, drinks that make you visit blackout city, ladies that make you stay awake, and an agenda from 8 to 4 am that you would think I didn't have to wake up 'till 3pm. I usually am suited and booted by 7am and on my way to the Creek. Great area, great parking.....for the early birds. I stopped in here with a friend for an early morning cup of joe and am sold, despite the fact I'm not a big fan of suburbia. Long espresso colored tables encourage sharing seats in close proximity, open design, and just overall sleekness that drips with amazing eye porn. What's there to say about Starbucks? I'm pretty easy - I go in, order my coffee and: Done. It's the same ol', same ol', no matter which location I go to. I stopped by this shop on Sunday - I walked up to the register just in time to catch the little troll behind the counter rolling her eyes at the female patron that was in line before me. I know customers can get a little fussy this time of year, so I actually gave the little troll the benefit of the doubt. You can't miss her: if you happen to overlook the sourpuss expression on her face, just look for the cute little hickey on her neck. I ordered my drink and stepped aside to let the next patron order. Poor guy never saw what was coming - he had two little girls with him that were excited about their hot chocolates and pastry orders... and of course, being little girls, they were a little indecisive about whether to order brownies or cookies... So as this guy is ordering for his daughters, you would have thought he was asking for the troll to run home and bake the brownies or something (meanwhile, more eye-rolling and huffing and puffing). The Dad turned to me to see if I was catching her behavior, and I just shook my head. I couldn't WAIT to get the hell out of there. News flash, Sweets: If you're at the register, your job is to take customer orders. If you hate dealing with customers, maybe you can ask for the paper cup-counting position, or something? Ok, This made the final straw..... Tonight the sigh says they close at 10pm. I work right around the corner as a Manager at a Restaurant where we stay open till midnight. I'm on my break and needed a good hot tea I get there at 9:40PM. Already locked up and the employee is moping and just laugh at me when I tried to open the door. So I'm gonna express the rest of thoughts of this location. Only three Employees I like there everyone else looks like they don't want to be there. They forget the most simple side things, they can't spell my name or give me another name. Ignore my drink to make a coffee (90% of the time I get a Ice Green Tea), they never have product or organized to find what they need. Trash cans are always filled to the tea even when it's slow. I know they don't deep clean when I left a lil happy face made out of sugar in the most obvious spot by the windows and I came back the fallowing day it was still there. The only reason I give it two stars because of the three employees and the old Manager Named Paul who has been a good friend for countless and was surprised he was at this location. All in all I'll most likely be back just to get a quick cup of Joe or a Ice Tea. I hate Pete's coffee and the other coffee location by Pete's. I don't want to walk over to Phil's coffee that's further up and I don't want to pull my car out of the Garage there. read more

I am not one of those sour-faced bitches who walks in with attitude and then complains about service, okay? When I'm in need of coffee, my demeanor is hopeful if slightly distracted, so I don't know what excuse these jerk baristas have for treating me like I'm simultaneously invisible and extremely inconvenient. Not sure how this gets any compliments for good service. I've never seen an employer smile or greet anyone, all they do is talk down to you if you ask for something they can't do. I ordered two coffees and a panini, also a venti water. He pulled out a grande cup and said, "this is all I can for you," and then rolled his eyes. I said, "I'm sorry I didn't know." What's really left to say about Starbucks? This location gets super crowded in the a.m. Weekday commuting hours but the baristas are friendly and handle the lines like pros. This location is conveniently located next to the BoA parking structure. I think this is the advantage this Starbucks has over the several other Starbucks in Downtown Walnut Creek. The baristas are friendly and fairly speedy despite a constant busy crowd. There aren't very many outlets, so it's not a very good place to study if you need to use your laptop. However, there is ample seating, indoors and outdoors. What makes this place's coffee even better is their clover machine too!!! read more

And if you're like me and like your coffee a little less sweet. Ask for one less pump of syrup. Now onto service, the staff was very nice, but kinda spacey and clueless. They messed up almost every drink and forgot to make two all together, including mine. Then he asked me a couple of times what I wanted even though it was on the slip in front of him lol oh well. Lack luster StarB's experience for sure. Place was not too crowded, but it seemed messy. Lots of crumbs on the tables, newspapers strewn about, and the ever annoying back stocked boxes of cups and other products stacked by the bathrooms, making it nearly impossible to get in them. Add to it that my wife and I got glared at for coming back into the place to use the restroom about 5-10 mins after we left with our drinks. We were paying customers afterall. Weak sauce. Sad it is that way since the location is killer and could be a great hang spot. read more

Went to this Starbucks on a rainy weekend. It wasn't as crowded as I expected but it was still pretty cramped. Highlights: 1. Long wooden table in front of the cashier. There's something about long dark wooden tables that have outlets for each seat. It all just warms my heart. 2. Starbucks Reserve. 3. Cute outside seating. Not the best place to study as there's only a handful of seats that have outlets. I give them 2 stars because everyone has a bad day (saved from 1 star), but yesterday they got the get a clue award! Mind you, if you want to spend $5 for coffee and snack in this part of Walnut Creek you have about 6 doors to choose from inside a 3 block square area. Crazy! At 4pm on Saturday I was surprised to see long lines at my first and second choices. There were probably 8-10 drinks ahead of me at the time I got in line. Probably 15 minutes from the time I got in line, to the time I recieved my drink. Not bad, not good. I ordered a dbl tall, wet cappuccino. Normally a Pete's 'black' coffee guy in the morning. Unfortunately, the 'wet' turned into 'whip'. No worries, quick re-deaux. This time the 'wet' turned into a tall latte, probably not a dbl, with a bit of foam on top. Short of it being a scene from the movie "LA Story", this really was just about the 'fix' ... foam...wet...dry...it's just a delivery mechanism. I will say that when your selling $3 - $4 - or $5 coffee(s) you need to get it right. It's just too embarrassing for the customer to even say anything when they can't get it right the second time. One of the best I've had recently was a cup of "Dunkin Doughnuts" at an airport while waiting for the trip home. Nothing fancy about it, just good, fresh, hot, coffee. read more

As a 2x per day Starbucks junkie, I'm pretty easy going about my experiences within different stores. Unfortunately, this store has failed me more than once. I'm hoping the guy who seemed truly bothered by remaking my drink -- cos he made it wrong -- sometime last Summer/Fall, has been fired. Awful to say in such an economy, but in all seriousness: he was terrible to me and/or my boyfriend more than once. Due to his attitude, I made the decision to never return for the super subpar service. The store has high turnover so I've never recognized but one barista, anyway. In any case, the Stabucks within Broadway Plaza (across from Sephora) is always consistent but typically very busy. If I have to get my fix while shopping, I'll make my way over there... This is a nicely sized Starbucks, with smartly placed electric outlets (perfect for a grad student), and very friendly service (on the couple occasions I've been there). However, it gets 3 stars because of the lack of convenient parking (all metered street, though there is a two-hour lot nearby), and because for some reason the positioning of the tables is just really crowded. For such a big location, it seems that it would be possible for it to feel more spacious. This is a busy location, probably not ideal if you need to work on something that requires concentration, but perfect if you want some background noise while working or if you want to catch up with friends. read more

What can I say, it is a Starbucks and it is conveniently located down town. I popped in one day that I was wandering about with a friend. It was a cold day and we wanted something warm to perk us up.
