Station 16 is a gem and the team behind the bar is a big reason why. We had a fantastic late happy hour last night. The cocktail program is seriously impressive and every drink we tried was well-crafted and delicious (wish I'd written down the names, but trust me, just let the bartenders guide you). I can tell you the lemon brussel sprouts were to die for! But what really caught our attention was a young man at the bar named Connor. He was new, I caught one of the bartenders showing him the register, but you wouldn't know it from watching him work. Anyone who's been to enough bars knows that barbacks are usually found leaning against a wall somewhere, but not this kid. He was right in the thick of things and super attentive, efficient, and moving with the kind of polished instincts you'd expect from someone with a real fine dining background. You don't see that much anymore and I was impressed with his politeness and the manners displayed. It's one of those places where you can tell management is making smart hires. We came on a Monday evening around 4:30 and got seated right away. The entire staff was super personable and attentive. Our server, Adri, was amazing! My boyfriend and I are both in the industry and love to give people their flowers when it is due. She was absolutely the best server we've had in awhile! The food and drinks were also so yummy. My girlfriend and I attended station 16 on a Monday during they're all day happy hour we were served by Adri, who was incredible! She guided us through the menu and any time we were indecisive she would steer us in the right direction. We started the evening with oysters, and the artichoke dip. There's options for protein but the starter by itself was incredible! Can't wait to come back and add the lobster or shrimp. I don't know if you can request a server but Adri made us feel right at home and with constant check ins! The decor and ambience is elevated too. We got happy hour drinks and apps. I thought my sangria was part of HH - not sure what happened there. The apps are great for sharing. I really enjoyed the shrimp crostini. Like I didn't even know I like shrimp like that but I could have eaten it all myself!!! lol. The tuna tartar guacamole was really good too. I personally didn't go for the clams or oysters. My least favorite dish was the blackened salmon. Not much flavor and wish there was more veggies. Station 16 in Sacramento is where my wife and I had our first date. We didn't feel like driving that far, and the Elk Grove location is closer. I'm so glad we went here. The place is very pleasing and soothing at the same time. Let's start with the worst part. The parking situation SUCKS!! Why? Well it's shared with another, rather popular restaurant right next door, plus 3 or 4 other smaller one... and a gym. If you're not lucky or timing is off, you will be parking by Churches. That's the worst of it. Now the food was delicious!! Steak with Garlic Noodles for me and one of the shrimp dishes for my wife. I must say, she was pleased. Wait staff can be a little slow because they are overwhelmed, but they do try hard to get to you. If you need any type of help, everyone was willing to make sure your experience is great. Came here for an early brunch on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and surprisingly it was not busy. I think people don't know about this place yet! That was to our advantage as we had a large party of eight. I had the Vietnamese iced coffee and a steak omelette which was really good. The only thing I can complain about was the portions of the potatoes were smaller than I'm used to. Usually you get a whole plate of potatoes that are not good. We got the shrimp salad and the salmon salad, after eating it, I realized the menu is totally off from what we received. For example: The shrimp honey pecan salad says it has avocado and tobiko but there was no avocado (also looking at other people's salad on yelp no avocado seen) and the "tobiko" is carrots (I didn't take a photo but looked on yelp after) The salmon salad said tomatos and picked onion but it was red/yellow bell peppers and raw red onions. The Cajun pasta was just a bit too spicy but our first server did give me a heads up before hand. As someone who works customer service, this aspect of a business is the most important. Not exactly sure what happened to our initial server but desiree didn't check in with us besides one time. We didn't get a single refill of water or my drink fixed. We would have to flag her down if we needed something and she seemed bothered. She also gave us the wrong check and we had to wait 10mins for her to look in our direction so we could let her know she had given us the wrong check. It felt like she was avoiding us. I was observing her interactions with other tables and she wasn't as cold towards the bigger party to our left but was towards the other table of two to our right. This was my first visit to Station 16 in Elk Grove. I previously visited their other location Downtown for brunch. My family and I came for my birthday celebration so we were ready to try many dishes. While we waited for our table, we ordered wine and cocktails at the bar. They had a live musician singing and it's sort of casual in the bar area with nice booths and tables for large parties on the other side. There is also outside seating available which is nice. There was a looong wait for us to order but that was partially our fault. They came to the table maybe 10-15 minutes before Happy Hour (after having already waited about 30 min) so we said hey why not wait longer. We ordered plenty appetizers and drinks, pasta entrees, a salmon and sadly I forgot to take a picture of my delicious Ribeye. The oysters (on happy hour menu) were fresh so we ordered a dozen and a half and honestly I had most of them myself. The calamari was crispy and included both the rings and the full squid pieces, the dipping sauces complimented them extremely well. We also ordered the mussels that were paired with sausage and this was very nice. My family enjoyed their dishes and I thought the ribeye was nice. The drinks are great- I got a lychee martini and a house red. They also gave me a complimentary ice cream in a martini glass for my birthday. On a Thursday, I was craving a steak and didn't want to go all the way to Sacramento. I know this is mainly a seafood restaurant, but they did have some good options. The restaurant was not busy, maybe 5 tables with customers only in the bar area. The ribeye was okay; cooked appropriately, but very gristly which made it difficult to eat (cut) ($58 is the updated price, btw). The potatoes and green beans were delicious. But the service was terrible!!! From the very beginning, we probably should've walked out. At the host station, there were three employees: one male and two female. We were greeted by the male host who asked us how many in our party. After our reply (2), it was clear one of the females was supposed to seat us. But we had to wait for the two females to finish their chat, which was extended because a server starting her shift walked up, so all three of the ladies had to keep visiting. Oh, and it wasn't work related either, about sections, specials, or anything. Nope, it was about cute clothes, hair, etc. Once we were seated, it was apparent we did not have an actual server for our table. The bartender eventually came over to pour waters and asked us what we wanted to drink. We didn't even realize there was a drink menu on the table or that it was happy hour. Nobody had informed us of any of that. She left. Never stopped to explain anything or ask if we had questions. When the bartender came to take our food order, I asked if the happy hour specials were the same as the late night specials, because again nobody had explained anything. Her response was laced with a tone of condescension. Apparently, it was the same and I was stupid for asking. We gave the bartender our food order and I told her I would consider a drink order after another couple of minutes. (BTW, I would have loved a whiskey drink, by their only house cocktail on a long list with whiskey in it was nearly $30. On happy hour, it would have been $27. Plenty of tequila and vodka options for happy hour though.) Our steaks came out, delivered by a runner. We didn't see the bartender again until we were OVER halfway through our meal, at which time I had given up on a drink order. During the second half of our meal, I watched the bartender with a cocktail in the shaker with ice put the shaker down while she was sending a text message. I'm glad I didn't order a cocktail as it would've been watered down while she took care of personal business. Eventually, another server came back and started taking care of our table by refilling water, glasses, and removing our plates. The server seemed like she would have been a good one, but we were done with our meal by that point. I'm often a good tipper. Basic customer service will land you 20% easily. But the lack of customer service, attention to personal communication over their jobs, and attitude was disappointing. For a bill nearly at $130 without alcohol, I left what I felt was an embarrassingly small tip. But I cannot enable such abysmal behavior in employees. (My husband was probably surprised I left a tip at all.) You're in the service industry. We were not difficult customers, didn't make demands or customizations. We even ordered the same exact meal cooked the same exact way. But the employees couldn't be bothered to focus on their jobs and give a basic level of customer service.
