My wife and I did a take out order from Station 16. My wife did an online order and ordering the food was very user friendly. When my wife entered the restaurant the staff were friendly and very helpful. My wife ordered the chopped salmon salad and I ordered the shrimp and honey pecan salad. My wife loved her chopped salmon salad. I loved the shrimp and honey pecan salad. Both salads were phenomenal and very delicious. The ambiance inside is very customer friendly. I was so excited about the Addition of Station 16 close to me well downtown will keep seeing me But the decor in Elk Grove Nice but a 2 hr wait. We sat I get it's a Friday but you had us sit for 1hr and 15 mins looking at 2 tables only to sit us there unbelievable. By then I was no longer as hungry as I started out Jermey the server was nice but pushy I hadn't tasted the chicken yet do I want something else nope not now, was not a good experience pretty but not a good experience, I didn't even get crab who does that not me but today yup I did. read more

The food was absolutely on point, and the ambience made for a great dining experience. Service was a little on the slower side, but it didn't take away from the overall quality. One funny hiccup, the leg of my chair broke (not my fault, it must have already been loose!), but the staff handled it well. The restaurant itself is really nice, though probably not the best spot for small children. I'd definitely recommend making a reservation to ensure a smooth visit. read more

The first thing went well was that we were early and was able to be seated at a nice table with Holly/Sam who were both fabulous and very friendly and attentive with a busy restaurant staff still managing to make us feel comfortable and cared for they even crafted a special chocolate espresso martini just for me. Tonight we had a special dinner at Station 16 in elk Grove, California. Celebrating my husband's retirement with 40 years at SSD Our drinks and our appetizers were awesome, when they finally made it to our table. Big props to manager Kelly who helped our poor overwhelmed server Holly. We have been to this restaurant before and received excellent service prior to tonight. Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was a Thursday night and the parking lot was packed. We circled around for 15 mins for some one to leave. We finally walked in and to my surprise the door is on the side next to outdoor patio. If you walked past the patio, you've gone too far. The host at the door greeted us right away, we waited for 15 mins to get seated. To my surprise, it's was pretty packed and they actually sat us next to the bar. We had an eight and 3 year old with us. This is the first restaurant that I've been too that allow kids near the bar. Anyways, my sister always wanted to try this place, so we finally did. The food was pretty good and service wasn't too bad. The decor was nice, they even have a separate area with curtains for a private party. Definitely a nice place for a date night, family gathering, and even throw a small event. I would recommend this place and would definitely come back. The only reason why this place didn't get 5 stars is because none of our food was hot and our server didn't refill our drinks or water. We had to flag her down when we saw her. My clam chowder was lukewarm. read more

Station 16 has such a nice vibe--super cozy, relaxing, and beautifully designed. It's a great spot if you're looking for a chill atmosphere to hang out and have a meal. Our server, Kevin S was fast and friendly, which I really appreciated. We were seated right by the kitchen door so it was a little loud from all the employees. I didn't really mind it as I've worked in a restaurant before but not so sure about other guests. As for the food, it was good but definitely didn't live up to the price. I ordered the scallops for $36 and only got three pieces--kind of ridiculous for that price. On the bright side, the NY Steak (medium rare) was cooked perfectly and really tender, so no complaints there. The burgers my nephews ordered were good. Tuna tartar was actually the best one we've ordered. The drink was good! I tried "The Rose,". But honestly, the place feels overpriced overall, especially with those portion sizes. If you're into a great ambiance and don't mind spending a little extra, it's worth checking out. Just don't order the scallops lol read more

We went there on a Sunday afternoon about 5:30. There were 5 of us but they won't seat us despite the abundance of empty tables. We asked to be seated by the bar and after the 2 nd request They let us sit on the high chairs. Service was horrible. Our order came 1 at a time with 5-10 minutes in between. It was so embarrassing but didn't want the food to get cold. Fries were served cold as well. Drinks took forever as well. The visit was such a disappointment. read more

I had wanted to try this restaurant ever since it opened its new location here. Came here for Sunday brunch one day. Ambiance was amazing. Trees and chandeliers and contemporary decor creates a delightful environment. Hostess was friendly. Our server attended us promptly and food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the seared ahi tuna salad and crispy chicken sandwich with salad. Both were delicious. First visit, no complaints. The service and ambience were good but the food was not at all commensurate with the price. I had the pan-seared scallops. They were underdone but, even worse, I got a total of 3 medium size scallops. Priced at $34, I expected way more and left hungry (and I am not a big guy). I'm not sure how experienced the chefs are but seared scallops that are overly seasoned and only seared on one side and then overloaded with things for presentation are just not quality. The scallops should be the star of the dish. The chefs should also learn how to properly cook a steak...overcooked and not worth the price. First time dining here, and we won't be back. read more

Didnt even get appetizer order after I've asked which came after my entrees, worst was when I was ordering waitress made me felt like I didn't belong or wouldn't tip probably cause I was a bit dirty after work, she also said that's a lot of food you order! Are you sure! Upon arrival, we were greeted by a full parking lot...which is always a good sign. Upon entering what we thought was the Velvet Martini Lounge, we were greeted by an employee named Matt. Matt was very friendly and understanding when he realized that we intended on being in the Velvet Martini Lounge, not the Sheldon Inn Restaurant. He went above and beyond by introducing us to an employee who worked at the Velvet Martini Lounge and escorted us upstairs to the lounge. Upon being seated at the lounge, we were greeted by server James, who provided us with menus. Our sole purpose was to connect solely over adult beverages, so we both placed orders for drinks. My wife ordered the Big Shot Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and I ordered the Havana Haze (a rum-based drink). As we slowly sipped our drinks, we enjoyed our date night in the dimly lit, romantic ambience of the lounge. The background music was played at a perfect volume to where you could hear the music as equally as you could hear the individual(s) talking at your table. James did a great job of not being a "helicopter server" by periodically checking in on us. We intended on ordering a second round, but the drinks were so deliciously stiff (a sneaky stiff) that we decided it would be a wise decision to end the night. I cannot wait to make a return visit to celebrate one of our monthly anniversaries, I recommend checking out Velvet Martini Lounge!

We took a flight of stairs up and found the lounge bar and were able to get some open seats for drinks. The servers were friendly and got us waters and bread right away. We ordered the Dirty Sidecar and the French Prince. The drinks were okay, but we decided to get the espresso martini since we figured if the place is called Velvet Martini, maybe they specialize in Martinis. The espresso martini was the best cocktail out of the 3 we ordered and we were glad we got it to redeem the other drinks. There was a good amount of people here, some out celebrating birthdays, some on dates, and some tables of friends just hanging out and having food and drinks. There was also an outdoor area from the restaurant below which seemed to have a nice dinner setting. I would say the velvet martini is worth coming by if you're in the area and looking for drinks, but it is in a much more secluded area.

The chairs are very nice and comfortable, the place has excellent ventilation and the smell of smoke was minimal. Our server Ilana (I'm sure I spelled it wrong sorry) was great. I do see why it pairs well with beer. The outside had more of a bread crust taste and texture, but the inside was pretty plain and not as soft and fluffy as I prefer. The jager fries were definitely the better option. The fries are thick enough that you can taste the potato and the toppings and sauce were sooo good. The sauce reminded me of beef stroganoff, which made it really comforting and flavorful. I would definitely get these again. I enjoyed my visit and would love to come back to try their brunch menu!

For a party of 60+, they were extremely accommodating and the venue and food made it such a special celebration. They even brought out an extra dish of cooked salmon over rice for the birthday girl, because they heard she's a fan of that. We have tried a lot of their food and everything is delicious. The only things that are just okay are the chicken karaage and the gyoza. They have amazing udon broth and the fish quality on all items is very high. The rolls are more Americanized and come with sauces and frills, but everything is well balanced and delicious! Everyone was impressed by the look of the spread as well as the flavor. Our friends and family demolished everything! We also had a few plates of sashimi and a few appetizers that were also all delicious. They seemed understaffed that day, but still managed to keep things under control. I really liked the brisket - you could see the juices coming out before you even take a stab with your fork. You don't even need a knife because of how tender the meat is. The frijoles and the corn esquites were definitely my favorite sides. The dirty fries were okay but a little bit underwhelming in presentation. The fries were undercooked and could've had more toppings. I was really hoping to try the loaded baked potato, but that was not available. I was surprised to see that they didn't have some of the more classic side options like macaroni and cheese or coleslaw or cornbread. Because they were out of the banh mi option, we opted for the fried chicken sandwich instead, which was actually surprisingly super good, despite not seeming like a main menu item. The chicken was really juicy and burger itself was just very satisfying. Overall, had a great first visit but because of the items that we couldn't try, I feel like we have to go again to get the proper experience. I do wish they had some kind of kids menu. I also still want to try that Sunday brunch menu so we will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.

After finding comfortable seating for four in the sitting areas away from the bar, a member of our party approached the bar to order the drinks. After verifying that everyone at our table was 21+, the bartender proceeded to make the drinks. I intended to speak to the price of the beverages; however, a friendly patron stole the opportunity away from me by generously paying for all four drinks (yes there are still kind people in our world). What I can speak to is the strength of the drinks...both my Kamikaze and my Margarita (my option for the second round) were stiff + delicious. After the second round (I still cannot speak to the price of the drinks because a member of our party refused to share the cost of the drinks that he treated us to) of drinks, we were pretty inebriated and needed to get some food in our systems. Therefore, we made our way to the food court. If you're looking for mixed drinks that have a perfect balance of stiffness and taste, I recommend visiting River Bar.

The noise was a bit loud and the decor seemed a little dated. Overall the pros outweigh these, the service was solid, and we had a fun! 1. Parking Parking lot with 2 handicap spots. Also easy walkway from the handicap spots into the restaurant. Easy to pull into from the street if coming from 99. I would suggest not trying to back out to the street when leaving however and instead we went through the parking lot, made a left at the ally and from there make a turn from the stop sign at Main Street. 2. Menu: Every thing we ordered was delicious. They had a large wine and beer menu. The blonde beer was ice cold and light for a summer drink. The house red was pretty mellow and very full bodied. The Sauvignon Blanc wasn't too sweet and had a hint of vanilla. The portion sizes of the meals were huge. None of could finish our plates! The bread is extra at 6 dollars, but worth it mainly due to the garlic/chive butter with it. We also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer - it was hot and crispy. The zucchini and breading were not soggy at all, and the breading stuck perfectly (these are common issues I've had at other places with fried zucchini) The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. My friend pointed out that this was a very large piece a bit on the thinner side- they may have pounded it out to tenderize it is our guess. The farmer special was our favorite. It was a braised short rib and you could order it with pasta however we did it with the polenta. It was so very tender and savory. Came with a lot of polenta and it was very cheesy with Parmesan. The linguine and clams had both shelled and unshelled clams. I felt that there could have been more meat for the clam to pasta ratio. It was full of garlic and the cream sauce was zesty. 3. Atmosphere: It's a decent sized building, with a nice big bar in the front a smaller room to the left and a larger room in the back. There was plenty of seating for if you needed to wait. The walkways were wide and it was easy to move around, so no issues using a walker here and I would guess a wheelchair should be fine. The backroom had big booth seats, and would probably be good for large groups and families. The decor seemed a little dated and there was a jukebox in the smaller room, which although we were seated in the back was very loud and at the beginning of our experience it was hard to hear each other and was distracting. During this time the music kept switching songs every 10 to 30 seconds. I inquired why, and every Tuesday night they do "Music Bingo". So that could be a plus for some people, who want a more laid back atmosphere and enjoy a community game! The people in the front of the restaurant seemed to really enjoy it! However I would say if you are planning a quiet evening out or a first time date, you may want to come any other night but Tuesday. 4. Service: All our food and drinks come out in an appropriate time. Drinks were cold and food was hot! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and the manager even come by to check on us. I do love the brick building and how it's on old Elk Grove. We will be back!
