There was some confusion with the names being called during my visit, which was a bit confusing as the hosts were not 100% clear. However, had a great server named Kara who made the evening enjoyable with her attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly service. Rachel, one of the managers, also came by to check on our party and shared how we were enjoying the evening We had variety of dishes including oysters, chopped Napa, bone-in KC strip, lobster rolls, au gratin potatoes, shishito peppers, spinach, and more. We were taken here on a Friday night for both an anniversary and birthday celebration. The setting is gorgeous. The main room is really beautiful and elegant. But, it's loud. We sat in an adjoining smaller room and it was loud too. There were 4 of us and we had the following: - started out with a calamari appetizer and it was great. Very fresh and didn't have that overly fried taste. - We shared a caesar and wedge salads. We all felt this was the low point of the meal. Too much dressing and it really made them soggy. Even without this, it was far from the best caesar I've had. The lettuce just didn't taste as cold, crisp, crunchy, and fresh as I'd like. Huge portion of anchovies though. - We all had some form of steak as entrees. I had the boneless ribeye special and it was good. The others had filets and said they were good too. My absolutely stunning date had to send hers back 3 times before it was to her liking. She asked for it to be cooked medium, and the the first time it was far from it. The second time was cooked a bit more but still there was no chance it was medium. Finally, the third time it was ok. Somewhat puzzling why a steak place can't get it right the first time. Also frustrating that the rest of us were well into our meals by the time hers was finally delivered. We had baked potatoes and steamed spinach as sides and they were fine. The dessert menu is really good... we had key lime pie, their signature warm butter cake, and an ice cream cake and they were all excellent. Valet parking and there is also a lot across the street, and street parking in the area. Our server Daniel was friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. I make this comment about all of these high end steak places I visit... they all seem the same. Maybe I'm just not a steak connoisseur, but to me steak is steak. Had a great birthday experience here at Steak 48! Ian was our server and definitely knew the menu inside and out, recommended great dished, and we even had a great seafood tower built for us. My personal favorite dishes were the Steak Tartare and the cocktail Shrimp. The food portion is a lot and we walked out full! The only downfall for me were the signature cocktails were wayyyy too sweet but I asked for extra lime juice to balance it out more. I went to this restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday. I must say that the food here was very good with a lot of flavor. We ordered a lot of food, as we typically do when we try a new place. We have been to many steak restaurants and I can say that this place has the best customer service by far. They really cater to the customer. The ambiance is that of a romantic restaurant. How did I miss writing a review about Steak 48 I am in the neighborhood and knew this was a new and hot restaurant coming to the block. I then heard how busy it was and reservation were always getting booked. I mean I thought this was great seemed like it was a hit. I then myself tried to book a couple times but couldn't get in.. I wasn't surprised since I had already heard word of mouth. I had a friend in town last minute and I was put to task to find a good restaurant this had been on my top list... so I attempted midday on a Friday to make reservations for that evening at 8pm and what do you know whalllahhhhh! I took an uber since I knew I'd be doing some drinking so don't know how the parking situation is like. I knew they offer valet but that's about I saw. Once we checked in we didn't wait too long to be seated. I thought timing was just perfect! Enough time to look around, feel a vibe, people watch a bit, and it seemed everyone was really enjoying themselves. The restaurant I believe is just one level, I did however notice how differently every section or rooms were. For example when you first walk I noticed more coupes and families, by the bar area it seemed more livelier and alot of action going on, and lastly I was seated in a more secluded private dining room area more quiet and intimate. I started with a lychee martini and the biscuits looked amazing so I went with that. My date has a gluten allergy so it was all for me!!! The buscuits were amazing delicious so good that even when I took them home and warmed them up they were still good, soo good I still dream about them and can't wait to go back. Naturally, that was the vibe I expected to recreate at Steak 48 in Beverly Hills when I snagged a 9:30 PM reservation in the bar. After all, I've been to their locations in Scottsdale, Houston, and beyond. I knew the food and service would be top-notch, but I was especially looking forward to the NYE energy. Spoiler alert: there wasn't any. First, the good: The food was outstanding, as expected, and cooked to perfection. Our bartender/server was warm, knowledgeable, and delivered exceptional hospitality--so kudos to him, even though I can't remember his name (sorry, I misplaced my receipt). For these reasons, I'm giving three stars. Now, let's dive into the snoozefest. I got a voicemail earlier in the day from Scott, who seemed to be channeling a theme-park cast member. His corny delivery about "full-service bar seats in the Dominick's room" was charming in a bless-your-heart kind of way but gave me serious Disneyland rollercoaster boarding vibes. At the time, I figured the place must be packed if even the overflow room was fully booked. Boy, was I wrong. When we arrived, the restaurant was half empty, including the Dominick's room--our assigned "overflow" area, which remained basically deserted all night. I'm pretty sure they use this space to store stray tumbleweeds, and our entertainment for the evening consisted of watching the manager count wine bottles in the cellar. To spice things up, he loudly complained about working until 3 AM. Live music? Nope. The playlist? Still stuck in Christmas mode, because nothing screams New Year's Eve like "Jingle Bells" in a barren room. To say the vibe was dead would be an understatement. It felt like they had exorcised every ounce of energy from the space, leaving behind a void of geriatrics and weary hostesses who looked like they regretted every life choice that led them to this moment of seating a guest in this area. I'm convinced these hosts couldn't critically think their way out of a paper bag, let alone reassign us to one of the many open tables in the main dining room. Instead, we sat at a half-empty bar, soaking up the ambiance of...absolutely nothing. The cherry on top? This isn't even my first dull experience here. A visit two or three months ago was just as quiet and uneventful. So, while I'm a Steak 48 fan in general, this Beverly Hills location has officially earned its spot on my "meh" list. The food and service remain stellar, but the atmosphere is nonexistent. It's like they've taken "overhyped" and stripped it of the "hype" part entirely. Would I return? Tried Steak 48 for the first time this evening....Had super early 415 reservations foe me and my wife. Excellent and courteous service from the moment walking up to the restaurant. Even though the hostess table was slammed with guests and crowds upon arrival they handled everything well. A guest fell walking to their table and the management stepped up and handled that situation well. Our server Omari was excellent and very thorough in explaining the menu in its entirety and recommending a few faves of his own. I ordered pork belly for an app, a dozen blue point oysters, roasted brussel sprouts, and 45 day dry aged Ribeye. Everything came out in a timely manner and was sizzling hot.....Steak 48 is a must if you are visiting or celebrating a special occasion or just having a night on the town. Came to this location to celebrate many things ahead of our vacation! Our waitress was so so nice. A younger black girl, I wish I remember her name because she deserves a shoutout. She was so attentive and considerate! I had questions about the lemonade and the best flavor to get, and without me asking, she brought out little samples of each flavor in a cute mini glass. I ended up getting the strawberry lemonade, though both that one and the plain were really good. The bread came out first and what I liked about this location was that their bread was different! It was almost like a honey butter biscuit, whereas in Houston, you get more of a garlic Parmesan roll. Both cities have GREAT bread in their own right. For an appetizer, we started with the crispy shrimp, and it was super fresh and crispy, though it lacked in sauciness and flavor in our opinion. It's their version of a bang bang, but didn't really carry much of a punch. For the main course, we shared a ribeye and got creamed spinach and mac and cheese for sides. The mac and cheese was SO good! I love when people use shells because it holds the cheese a lot better than most noodles. It was super cheesy as well. I even ate it cold on the airplane the next day lol. The creamed spinach was pretty good and so was the steak, but they were both lacking in seasoning. Though the steak had a beautiful color on the outside, it didn't have that char and the saltiness that usually comes from the charring. We ordered a truffle butter to accompany the steak and it helped a little, though I wish the meat itself was just a little more flavorful regardless. We ended with a celebratory cake (I still call it a butter cake but I think they changed the name). It was soooo good! It never disappoints! Warm, gooey, but still a cake texture. The nuts on top? Update: formerly 3 stars now 4 stars. steak 48 contacted me and sent me a gift card to make up for the issues with the steaks. Part of the reason the review was 3 stars was that not only was there an issue with the steaks but that we weren't taken care of on the 2nd steak, but they did make things right and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it again. The seafood there was all a 5 star experience anyway. Once we go back I will be adding another update to this review but for now we felt that their level of service to try and make things right went above and beyond. I've never had a restaurant actually call me after reading my review and really try their best to make things right. Kudos to them for caring. I only hope that they can train their shift managers to do that right away while the clients are dining there so they don't get upset from the experience. Former review before update (3 stars previously): I was recommended to steak 48 by the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills concierge. I travel to LA frequently and hadn't yet tried steak 48. The Waldorf and reviews I found here, suggested that this was supposed to be a better alternative to mastros opening up. Soooo not true. The seafood here was great. They should consider calling it seafood 48 not steak 48. The only dishes we actually enjoyed here were the seafood dishes, which kinda sucked because I had high hopes for the steak here. We ordered crispy shrimp and it blew me away. I would probably just order one of those for takeout next time as it's really the only dish here that I can say is a 10/10. Better than any appetizer at mastros hands down. The lobster escargot , interesting name, doesn't have snails, it is served however in an escargot container. And we both did like this dish and felt it was a strong 8/10. The Mac and Cheese at steak 48 was pretty good and definitely better than mastros but that's not hard to do since mastros mac is terrible. I would give this max and cheese a solid 6.5/10 we did enjoy it and consisted it to he above average. The beignet tree has a beautiful presentation, they are soft and delicious and we very much loved the lighter colored dip but both thought the dark chocolate one was a bit too strong. We give this dessert a solid 7/10. We mentioned to the staff that we love the butter cake at mastros so they recommended us a vanilla cake with ice cream on top. It was decent, we felt it was a solid 6/10 but the butter cake is a crowd pleaser and almost everyone we've ever talked to rates it at 10/10 best dessert they've ever had. So this cake really has a long way to go if they want to come close. Here's where the major issues came about: The bread was so plain, wish it was Parmesan crisps like mastros. The steaks and pork chops all sucked! The Australian wagyu was okay but a bit salty and we had to cook it ourselves which made the texture not perfect. The server said the pork chop was so soft and tender it was going to feel like wagyu steak. So we ordered it and honestly we've had better pork chops in a small town like Albuquerque New Mexico. It wasn't soft at all it was tough and chewy. We gave it back so that we could order something else we liked and our experience could be better than it ended up being. We replaced the pork chop with the KC steak. We disliked the steaks for all the same reason. Rather than cooking the steak to the customers desired temp, they bring it to you rare no matter what temp you tell them you want it ( I tried asking for medium and even medium well and received dark red raw center). They say it's because it continues to cook on their 500 degree plate, but that plate has clarified butter that is salted, so as it's cooking , it's also getting more salty! Also, sorry but I don't know how long yo cook the steak on this hot plate, I didn't pay $420 on dinner to try to be a cook, I wanted my steak the way I wanted it and that's that! It just sucks that the customer can't have it how they want it. The wagyu had the same problem, just to a lesser degree; the KC was so bad I took one bite and sent it back. They didn't even take the KC steak off the bill! At this point they said we already returned something. But truth being told I could have complained more because the drinks sucked too and I didn't say anything about that to them. Mastros has smooth easy to drink cocktails that taste delicious, over here it either taste like straight alcohol or syrup, it's just nasty. I will say this, the gin martini was good and they actually used blue cheese olives which was a major plus point. Also they did a birthday dessert for me so that was a plus point. I probably would have given them less stars if it was all bad, there was some good in there too, but being charged for something I gave back did rub me the wrong way. read more

Had reservations for 4:30p.m. The restaurant was empty, but by the time we left which was roughly 6pm it was packed. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Service was great! The food was okay. We ordered New England Lobster Rolls ($32), Maryland Style Crab cakes ($53), Crab & Shrimp Mac ($46), Whipped Mash Potatoes ($12), Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs ($19), Praline Sweet Potatoes ($15), Sautéed Brocolli ($15), and Sautéed Mushrooms ($16). Our bill totaled to $349.31 including drinks and tax. Do note this was a party of 3. As to the quality and taste of the food, I feel the Lobster Roll was the largest I've eaten. There was nothing special in the flavor but I do appreciate the portion. The crab cakes were good, but they are soft and not held together. the MAC I could have done without. The deviled eggs were outstanding, and it came with six! Now, the praline sweet potatoes were good, BUT this must be stated...THEY HAVE STRINGS IN THEIR SWEET POTATOES!!!! The veggies were vegging. We received butter cake for my birthday that was yummy! We parked in a structure that did not belong to Steak 48, so when you leave you have to tell them you shopped at the local retailer so they will let you leave =) Enjoy! read more

This is my first time being here. Heard it was a super trendy place, place to be.... I am not only into a place because it's a trendy place. More into the quality of food and service. But man, let me tell you, I guess it lives up to the hype! When you walk in, it's beautiful, very well done. Service was great, from bar to our seats. We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and glad we did. Felt very special, at least they made it this. Wish they put on our dessert "Happy Anniversary", would have been a nice touch. A little goes a long ways. Food: * bread is so yummy so buttery and delicious. ( I could only eat a bit or 2 due to my gluten and diary intolerant..) * seafood tower - love the fact you don't have to have a big crowd with you to order this, it's à la cart, you can order small as you want or large as you want. The lobster was delicious and so was the caviar. Wasn't a fan of the crab legs - a bit too salty for me. It's their signature crab legs like their sister restaurant Mastros. * special ribeye steak - melt in your warm amazing * bone in KC strip - was good but not as delicious as the ribeye, a little tougher meat overall. I had it better somewhere else... * Wagyu A5 - wow, even more melt in your mouth delicious then the ribeye. Super rich so the 4oz was good for us to share. But again, I have had it better somewhere else. * sides - mushrooms & roasted Brussels sprouts - great too. Desserts - triple layer key lime pie & triple chocolate bomb. Surprisingly they have a lot of choices that are gluten free. So if you have some dietary restrictions like me, you will be fine here. They are great at modify too. Overall experience, we had a great time. For being such an expensive steak house, I felt it missed in some areas... A bit pricy so if you want to celebrate a special occasion, great place to do so. But once again, I do feel there are just as good if not better places in L.A./South Bay Area. read more

We came here for an anniversary and it was a wonderful experience! From service, ambiance and food all 10's! The food was delicious and the service was so top notch. We were constantly checked on which was nice not to feel forgotten, they also made our anniversary feel special. Everything inside was beautiful and I felt prices were extremely reasonable. We shared and even then went home with leftovers. Creme brûlée corn was delicious, hasselback potatoes were also tasty. Then the beignets were complimentary which was very nice. I would definitely come back for another special occasion, Steak 48 left us with a lasting impression. read more

This is my second review I've ever left for any restaurant...and that says a lot. My name is Uche'& my husband is John and we just want to let you know that Brandon Guidry The General Manager is the reason we are looking forward to returning to your restaurant. He made the experience so wonderful... We were not happy with the service at first... My husband requested a bottle of champagne to be at the table for my birthday and that was not met and then when we mentioned it to our waiter it took forever to get it ... Luckily we had met Brandon prior to seating and after we sat, I went up to tell him that we were not happy and about to leave .. Brandon jumped in and took charge... He made the night lovely , Steak 48 is blessed to have him and he deserves a raise! read more
