This is the THIRD time that I've tried to come and have steak & shake for my first time. All three times the man working the grill around 4:00-5:00 has always been nothing but rude to us. The first night the kitchen was shut down two hours early. The second time was so bad I walked away and now tonight I've had enough. The lady running the front counter & mopping the floors was beyond helpful and sweet. The man running the kitchen was nothing but rude and threatening. He first makes the statement of "next time y'all should watch when someone mops because I know you seen her mop the floor." Then follows with "Are you sure you want to order? I'M the cook. So at this point I had had enough of being threatened so loudly and treated so poorly that I spoke my peace. Three times being treated like crap is ENOUGH For me being how I've never even got to experience this place. Then when asked for his name MULTIPLE TIMES he ignored the request and never gave up his name. Very unprofessional and very sad at the fact that I even had to go out of my way to stand up for myself when I wanted food to eat from a FOOD PLACE. I stated that I work at a different casino working in hospitality and this is never a way to treat a guest but I suppose that didn't matter to much. At this point I don't even want to ever come back. If you have staff that clearly doesn't care about the job or the people then maybe you need a new cook. Service was beyond terrible and makes me never want to even give them the chance. The ONLY thing that saved this experience tonight was the wonderful lady who took the time to make sure that we was satisfied with our Oder and even went to cook our food for us while apologizing for his action multiple times even though it was not her place to do so as it was his job to correct his wrongs. OMG I can't say enough about this great lil burger joint. Everytime we go to Biloxi, we go to the Grand to eat here even if we aren't staying in the hotel. But this last time, we were. So needless to say, we pigged out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the orange shakes here. Food us always good. Except one night, my wife got 2 sliders and we asked for them to be wrapped in foil paper, not just slipped into a sleeve. We wanted them to stay hot for the quick walk to the room. There were a few (what they thought were quiet) comments about us wanting them wrapped. Also I noticed the female staff is usually more concerned with talking amongst themselves than tending to people standing and waiting to be seated. Even when it's very slow. Wow, it's bad enough we are in a pandemic but just in regards to general food safety the cashier should NEVER touch food. However here the cashier handles dirty cash and coins with bare hands then scoops ice and grabs cherries while also using her fingers to "scoop" chocolate out of the little plastic saucers to make the milkshake. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean and bright. The food was very tasty and was delivered hot. Waitress was very attentive. Horrible experience waited 45 mins for a to go order that was made incorrectly when I asked the manager to remake my milkshakes that melted while waiting so long He told me no and when I asked for a refund for the shakes he told me to come back at 6am to ask a different manager. By far the worst steak and shake I have ever been served sad to say and it was QUITE EXPENSIVE...dont waste your time

I will try not hold it against this Steak n Shake located in the Harrah's Gulf Coast casino, right next to the cashier's cage, that I have so far only visited here after cashing out far fewer chips at the cage than I put down on the tables. But when your wallet is much lighter than when you came in, what better way to put it out of your mind than a tasty, greasy burger and a thick, sweet milkshake! This location has about a half dozen booths in the restaurant proper and another dozen or so booths and tables spilling out into a fenced in section of the casino floor, right next to clanging slot machines. If I'm going to the casino to gamble, I'm usually going alone... so me and my kindle prefer the relative quiet inside the restaurant portion. If I'm going to hang out with friends, sitting out on the casino floor so we can people watch while chatting and eating is perfect. There's really not much here you won't find at any other Steak 'n Shake, but the convenience of the location and late hours make the location a home run for a midnight snack after hours at the tables or slots. In addition, I heard a few orders come in from room service... I've never heard of having Steak 'n Shake delivered to your room, but what a convenience! One negative, they accept Total Reward points but charge double the standard rate. You're not going to break the bank at a Steak 'n Shake, but it seems like a stingy approach. read more

Nope. We've been super understanding due to Covid about places being slow due to less staff. Not the case here. At least 3 staff members standing around talking or taking frequent smoke breaks. Cooks were working their butts off. After we ordered 2 items, 5 customers who ordered after us got their full meals. I inquired about our food 30 minutes after ordering to which the girl taking orders said "They're making it now." 10 minutes later, someone who had just ordered received their food. The girl then asks me for a receipt, which I was never given. She then checks the trash. Here is where we get upset. The manager then gives no apology or any type of attempt at making it right as we ask for a refund....which we were not given because there was "no receipt". It's on my husband's bank record, which we showed her. Meanwhile, the girl who literally took our order is smirking the entire time, saying nothing to help us out. We waited 40 minutes and never got our food or a refund. There were 7 people working and it wasn't busy. Worth the money to go to the bar near the pool, where the staff was lovely. read more

The location of this particular Steak & Shake establishment is located inside the Harrah's Casino, so it is definitely the most unique Steak & Shake I've been to. The service was outstanding. Skylar was our server and he was very attentive and helpful with questions concerning the food. He even suggested the Royale Steakburger and I took him up on his suggestion. The burger was fantastic and was accompanied by their famous shoestring fries tossed in Cajun seasoning, and of course a house-made Cherry Coke. My first nite at the Harrah's Hotel and after some gambling decided to grab a bite to eat with my husband as we approached the Carryout counter we were never greeted as the employees continually walked by us!! My first reaction was that they were racist because I didn't notice any African American in the establishment but the cook and the cashier who eventually recognized us and took our order! Terrible experience 7/17, waited for someone to make shakes while my food set under a warming lamp for over 40 minutes and I had to ask for them to do that, it was just sitting on the counter. I had a terrible server that didn't care to serve us. I ordered a Prince royal steak burger (single patty) and she charged me for a double patty royal steak burger. I told her about it and she said "Well I gave you a two patty burger." Pretty much stating that I have to pay for a mistake she made. I expect what I ordered, so I didn't think anything of it when my food came out. I've been a server before, and if I brought out something that was wrong, I don't charge them for it. Another reason why the server was unpleasant was when my sister ordered Cajun fries with her burger and the fries were not Cajun fries (like the ones at checkers) as the picture advertised on their menu. The fries that came out were the regular McDonald's fries but with Cajun seasoning. She rudely, and yet again, charged us 50cents for. The supervisor ,I'm assuming, later clarified that they did not sell the Cajun fries like checkers. If you did not then why keep a picture of it on the menu? Leave a disclaimer at least. Overall Service is key for me, if you don't have a happy face and an attitude, don't work. It gives customers a bad experience. 2 stars is only because the food was good. Come for the food but don't expect great service here. read more

Love steak and shake. Servers are always friendly, service is always superb and the food is very tasty and affordable. The only thing I would suggest is that the cooks add cheese a little earlier so that it is fully melted on the burger. About it being located in the casino, it would have been nice if it were located closer to the entrance so you weren't forced to walk through the entire gaming area to get to it. It is located way in a back corner and if you've got kids you've no choice but to drag them through. read more

I ate here on a very slow afternoon weekday. The server (Ashley?) was not very professional or prompt. There was no sense of urgency when we were waiting to be seated at the hostess stand. When we ordered our food was quick but it was cold. Being in the service industry myself I did not want to be one of those whiney customers that sends food back but I also expected better service. So I will start by saying that the breakfast was absolutely great. My eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. Although rather small, the pancakes were good too. So why the 2 stars you ask?? Well...we decided to go back for dinner. Big mistake. I ordered a bacon steak cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. The burger was the size of the palm of my little hands. The fries were not good. I wasn't aware that the chili had beans in them. Beans on fries? I'll pass. My fiancé ordered a double bacon steak and cheese burger and onion ring. The onion rings were cold and not good at all. The burger was dressed wrong. When we told the waitress, she asked if he would like her to take the bottom bun off because the condiments he did not want was only on the bottom. He told her no because it was on the top and bottom and he didn't eat mayo. She was hesitant,but took it back anyways. 15 mins later we were still waiting on his burger. I had ate mine, so he then canceled the order. 1 min later his burger arrives and he informs her he has went to the counter and canceled already. She tells him he can keep it anyways. He doesn't want it because it is again dressed wrong. She brings the ticket and the $6.49 baby sized burger that was canceled is on the ticket. I tell her and she says no problem she will fix it. And we hand her the card. Big mistake. She comes back with a 1.68 discount. I inform her that I will not pay for a burger that was canceled and made incorrectly not once but twice, so she hesitantly goes back to fix the ticket. Then brings back back my new ticket with the burger removed and tells me I will have my refund at midnight back on my card. Needless to say, I am still waiting on my refund. Shame on you Steak n Shake Biloxi. read more
