First of all, Bobby Steiner should be ashamed of himself for associating with the kind of trash he was with on Saturday night. Bobby's friend commented on my wife's breasts while she was holding our 2 yr. old, walking out of the very DISAPPOINTING Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. My wife, daughter and I went there to eat on Saturday night. We didn't have reservations so we expected a wait. We were told we could sit outside which seem to us nicer than inside since they had a band. It was one of the most disorganized operations and we were treated like second class! We and another family had to sit and scope out people that might be getting ready to leave. They finally gave up and left. I know they say its first come first serve but this is a disaster they should take the outside more seriously and organize it. Once we sat down we ordered drinks and an appetizer. I asked for a booster chair and ended up having to get it myself. The drinks were a joke. Who drinks scotch and 7up? I asked for Glenlevit and SODA and had to send back a something and 7up 4 times. Then as we waited well over an hour to order, the bust boy takes our full drinks. The waitress was very nice and quickly replaced our drinks. Then, we ordered they mixed up our steak temperatures. If this dinner had been $60 dollars instead of $140 I would probably let this go. I do not mind paying for a nice meal but hold the restaurant to a higher standard. Maybe they are trying to find a way to make up for the liquor and food cost after ruining drinks and steaks. Imagine how many tables had similar mix ups and were flat out neglected on this one night alone. That's a lot of money down the drain and it's not fair to EXTREMELY over-charge because of your own mistakes. Wouldn't it be easier and more cost-effective to make some simple organizational changes? NOT ONLY THAT, BUT I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN SIMPLY BECAUSE THE OWNER'S FRIEND MADE COMMENTS ABOUT MY WIFE'S BREASTS DIRECTLY TO HIM AND NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. I'M DISGUSTED AND BOBBY STEINER SHOULD BE ASHAMED! You and your friend are the "boobs." When your own personal gain is more important than community and reputation, it never lasts long. I recently celebrated a special occasion with a party of 10 at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. Our waiter, William, was incredible--attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was top-notch. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each entree was cooked to perfection; I had the Steak Diana and my husband had the Fried Elk and both of our entrees were incredibly delicious. We also had several of their appetizers and desserts, all were delicious. We were also pleasantly surprised by how quickly our meals arrived--only about 30 minutes after we ordered for a party of 10 on a Friday night! The large portions were more than enough to satisfy everyone, and I don't think a single person at our table managed to finish their plate. Even though we couldn't see Lake Travis due to it being late at night, the low lighting of the restaurant created a warm and intimate atmosphere. Their menus were easy to read, even in the low lighting, as they light up upon being opened. We were seated at the back of the restaurant and the floor-to-ceiling windows showcased the stunning lights of the Hill Country. She truly made our night even more memorable. Now let's talk about the food -- WOW. I had the Cajun Cordon Bleu Chicken and it was out of this world! The chicken was juicy, the cheese perfectly melty, and that Cajun cream sauce with crawfish tails and ham? Truly the star of the show. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon -- both cooked just right and full of flavor. The service here is amazing, but I was not impressed by the food. I got the Steiner burger, which came with avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and a big side of fries. The portions were huge, but the burger itself wasn't as juicy as I would've hoped. The best thing I ate was the cornbread, which came in the initial bread basket that they brought to the table. I could eat that cornbread all day. My friends were celebrating their birthdays, so they decided to splurge and get the Wagyu Tomahawk steak. They ordered it medium, but to our disappointment, it had a completely red interior; rarer than rare. After eating a bit and mulling it over, they finally asked to have it cooked more, but considering the price, it was a letdown. Now in terms of service: while handing me my burger plate, a server accidentally dropped the entire ketchup container on top of my friend's white pants. It was an honest mistake, but the staff was quick to apologize and bring us napkins, ice cubes, and water to clean the stain. They also offered to pay for his dry cleaning bill, and if that didn't fix the stain, for a new pair of pants. To top it off, they brought us free dessert. Last was our first time at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, When we arrived it was raining very hard, we saw a complimentary valet sign and decided that was the best choice, We were greeted by three very friendly and professional valet attendants under a cover pavilion, two valet guys opened our car doors and one open the door for the steakhouse. Our reservation was for 7pm and we were seated just a little after, so no complaints. The meal its self took a little longer than expected, but it was well worth the wait, my wife and I both ordered steaks and they were both cooked exactly how we asked. The staff was also very friendly and I was even told some of the owners were in the restaurant enjoying dinner themselves. When it came time to leave our check arrived and it was a surprise, because we were expecting to pay more for a steak dinner and drinks at such a nice place. Just returned from dinner at SRSH to celebrate my birthday along with 2 other family members birthdays. Made reservations a week in advance asking for a "quiet" table for our party of 7. I realize that most restaurants have a fairly high noise level so the term "quiet" is subjective, but they seated us 20 minutes late at a booth table in the bar area. 7 people in a booth? We didn't complain until we left when we quietly mentioned that we were disappointed in the table we had been given, they brought us a manager who proceeded to tell us that they were sorry and they "just had to deal with the tables they have". I'm sorry, but for $30/entree I expect a table where I can converse with my group and not have to be in the middle of the bar. This is the first time I've ever complained at a restaurant and frankly, the manager's reaction made the situation worse. I will never set foot here again, the food was ok but there are plenty of steakhouses in Austin where I can go for a better experience. read more

Over priced and over rated. My girl friend and her mother made reservations for dinner to celebrate my sons 16th birthday. Mind you, we made reservations three days in advance. We got there exactly when we were supposed to be seated only to be told that we had no reservation and that they were OVER BOOKED. We asked to speak to the manager and he gave us a huge song and dance and asked us to please understand, it was a Saturday and we would have a wait. Keep in mind, we had made a reservation 3 days in advance, my friend even called two hours out to confirm the time as we were coming from church. We were seated in the bar and waited for over an hour. This is not Austin professional.... this is Austin greedy.... actually more like the Oasis. I would not suggest Steiner Ranch to anyone. My wife and I took my daughter Cathy, son in law Rob, grandchildren; Matthew, Melissa and Michael to the official opening night of this new Steakhouse located in Steiner Ranch property, Austin Tx. What a beautiful Restaurantt, Food was excellent, Service was excellent, Food Selection was perfect and the WINE was above average. The only unfortunate thing to happen was that the weather was COLD and MISERABLE (not normal for Austin) and we did not have a chance to relax on the fabulous terrace overlooking the lake. Having owned a Steakhouse in New Jersey, I can state with lots of experience that this Steakhouse is a WINNER. Each time we visit our daugher and family in Steiner Ranch, WE WILL AGAIN ENJOY THE STEINER RANCH STEAKHOUSE. Amazing Dining Experience with Stunning Views Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is a fantastic high-end restaurant with incredible service and breathtaking views. Our waiter was extremely attentive and serviceable, ensuring we had a wonderful experience. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset--it added a magical touch to our evening. For dinner, we had the Red Lightning Ribeye, a perfectly cooked 22 oz bone-in ribeye drizzled with bourbon glaze. It was absolutely delicious! The mac-n-cheese with smoked pork belly and lobster was easily the best we've ever had--a must-try. For dessert, we indulged in the molten chocolate cake, which is baked fresh upon request. I recommend ordering it early, as it takes about 20 minutes to prepare, but it's worth the wait. From the warm welcome by the hostesses to the final bite of dessert, everything was top-notch. Even though we've had some hit and miss experiences here, we brought some friends for dinner on Sunday night. We remembered our server, John from our first dinner here in December and he recognized us right away. He was as on-point as we remembered his service to be. He pampered us and our guests through descriptions of menu items and wine flavors and sold our friends on the Bacon Boule (my favorite) and Ahi Tuna (my husbands NEW favorite). Steaks all around of course, flavors exactly as we expected them. Our guests are Cabernet fans, but John steered us into an Oregon Pinot Noir that went perfect with Medium Rare. No stopping us as we shared the always wonderful Bullit Bread Pudding as the sun set out our window. It really felt like the complete experience we'd hoped for and we got to impress our friends. Just got back from eating lunch here at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. I normally come here for dinner(usually pleasant experience) & they just started to serve brunch here on Sunday's, so my friend and I decided to try it out for brunch. We sat outside on the patio bar...we asked to order off the menu. It took our server literally at least 15 minutes to come back with the menu, another 20 minutes before he came back to take our order, and another 30 minutes before the food came out. Guess what we ordered? A small SOUP & SALAD. It was the most ridiculous wait I have ever encountered. Guess I'll just stick to coming here for dinner for better service. Keep in mind, this is suppose to be an upscale place with superb customer service. No manager came by to apologize for our horrible experience. Good things first since the list is short, The facility is beyond great, and the steaks are par with the best I have ever had. Wine list is top shelf. I have been here 4 times in 3 months, as a couple, for a business group and 2 special occasions. So I have had opportunity to sample the menu and except for the steaks, the food is average at best ! Sides poorly prepared and tastlessly presented. Non-steak choices lack creativity and completly un-original. Desserts are "OK" nothing special and certainly not impressive. Service was overall pathetic and unprofessional with one eception, Sam. She Was Top notch and offered excellent wine for us. I get the feeling that this location is suffering from a lack of identity. I don't get to eat out much as I'm on a fixed income. We went for the live music and had a really amazing server. Tall guy, I think his name was Brady. Very genuine and didn't try to oversell us. He guided us through the menu and normally we're conservative on our spending but we trusted our server and we splurged and got the Wagyu since we were celebrating. I've never had a steak so tender and flavorful. He told us the story how they massage these cows and pamper them. He made a funny story about it has to moo so many times before the day is over. He was very attentive and made us feel like we were friends. He introduced us to a manager, Stephen and they both made us laugh. My husband and I booked a reservation last night. We have never felt so accommodated and welcome. We had a fantastic waiter Jesse whom took the time to explain how each cut of steak is prepared and explained the history of Steiner ranch steakhouse. Being Australian, I greatly appreciated the history. My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon and they melted in your mouth. Have never had a steak taste so great. After our dinner we sat on the balcony and watched the sunset. Amazing views! The key point that really made our night was the warm hospitality. The manager went out of his way to speak with us. So, I needed a new place to try a steak and the girl I was taking lives close to here. The place looked nice enough but was jam packed and when we finally got seated, it seemed like a half hour before anyone showed up t greet us. We had to request water after we figured out the waiter wasn't going to bring any. We finally ended up leaving after my date found a clump of lettuce under the tabletop. We told the waiter that the table had food stuck to it and instead of an apology, he just shrugged and said "eh, it's a restaurant, you never know what you'll find. So, we exited. I came to Austin for a bachelorette trip and our last stop was Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. And let me start off by saying, Tommy was the best part of our visit. Don't get me wrong, the French toast with all the different food options will have me coming back soon. But, the care from Tommy was above and beyond. We were on our way out, and notice our tire had a flat. Tommy took 2 hours out of his day to make sure our tire was secure for our 3+ hour commute back home. If you love a good steak then look no further. With amazing staff that are friendly and know the menu inside out. Our waitress Amber took the time to explain the cuts of meat with great detail and also was very knowledgeable about the wine, you can tell she went the extra mile to make our visit special and enjoyable. This place is wonderful! From the food to the ambience, the service, the view... it's quite amazing! We ordered the wagyu steak and it was cooked to perfection. The quail legs and the crab cakes for apps were also great. We didn't want to wait 30 minutes for outside seating but we were seated by the glass window overlooking the lake so I didn't mind not hearing the live band playing outside. It's definitely a bit pricey because we ordered out of the menu (wagyu isn't on the menu) but we had a wonderful time. Definitely coming back! read more

I'm curious if the flambéed desserts are prepared differently during lunch service, because the dessert we received looked very different from the presentation shown online. The tableside experience was part of why we ordered it, and it would have been nice to know beforehand if that wasn't available at lunch. Overall, the food and service were very good, but I hope the dessert experience can be more consistent with what is advertised.
