My wife and I went on Sun.around 1:00PM. We noticed a "help wanted" sign out front and it was busy, but not overly crowded. We were seated quickly and ordered coffee and lemonade, which came in a reasonable amount of time. Then we waited, waited, and waited. After a party of 6 (next to us) who came in 15 minutes after we did were almost finished with their meal we decided that was enough waiting. Our waitress, while topping off the coffee the third time, said she thought we had "cashed out". She seemed as confused and concerned as we were about where our order went. As we walked out, she apologized as she was carrying our order. Total wait time, 45 min. We are locals and have eaten there before and found it average. We probably won't be back. I really love sterling cafe, food is always amazing and service is good. the menu has a good selection and the cooks make everything spot on. I recommend their pesto pasta, its amazing and comes with salad and bread, reasonable prices too. my husband and i have tried their breakfast, lunch and dinner and we have never been disappointed! read more

Update dated Jan 26, 2016: New MENU alert at Sterling café. High price increases and again much less food. I mentioned it before back in 2014 about my sister and I who ate salads at Sterling Cafe. We went again to see how the salads were. Waitress mentioned the new menu's, very nice menus' But the price hikes were crazy and the salads are even smaller then in 2014. $10 for a Caesar chicken salad with very little lettuce and a small amount of chicken (croutons too). I actually asked if it was from the senior menu and the waitress said no. She did agree the size was very small, compared to what the restaurant served before at a lower price. Do not order the steak unless you want mainly fat and gristle. After eating it.... you will notice how many pieces you have set aside that were not eaten because of being tough and you cannot chew it. read more

For a tiny cafe, Sterling Cafe serves up some pretty decent food. Don't expect any big chain style menus or a fancy meal. If you've seen movies where truckers stop on the road to eat, this is probably as close as you can get. The waitstaff is fantastic and the service is really great. We went here twice and the waitress remembers our kids. So the service is great and isn't much of an issue. The food is a hit and miss. Some things are tasty and well done, but others taste like it came from a can or premade for the day and scooped on and reheated. I would definitely eat here again if we are in the area and too lazy to drive, but I wouldn't knowingly go here. I like to support the local community, but this place feels like someone just wanted to open up a restaurant just to have one and didn't really get the proper training of a cook or chef. The Russian lady with black hair is extremely rude! Her level of customer service is terrible. What was management thinking when they hired her. The food was good our server beth was awesome. I didn't find it appropriate for MTV's ridiculousness to be on the TV for everyone to watch. We also got to be annoyed by two other girl employees whining and complaining behind the bar while another male employee interacted with their conversation. When I went to use the restroom I came out of the stall and had a male employee walking in to change the toilet paper. He didn't say a work. I take my grandparents here once a month and the service is always good even with our particular orders. The friendly staff remembers my grandparents and what they order which is nice. The food is well made too. We mainly go for breakfast so I can't say much about lunch and dinner. read more

I have been to this restaurant over 20 times and am amazed that each time the meal is delicious - the service friendly and accurately. There is a wonderful variety - from steaks to crepes!! Food was really good, staff and service were excellent. They are pleasant, attentive, and pay attention to cleanliness.

My husband and I love this place. It is never very busy so we are served quickly unlike other breakfast joints in town. (Although they are delicious they are always packed and when you need food to fix your hangover you don't want to stand in the sun waiting a half hour to be seated.) The staff is great. We always go mid morning or lunch time and have never had a problem with service. The breakfast food is good...nothing over the top but always correctly prepared. The lunch/dinner crepes are where it is at! They are huge and come with potatoes and a salad on the side. Everyone we have tried is amazing....love the Mediterranean one for a vegetarian option. read more

First and last time going to this place! We waited 20 minutes before our waitresses came by to take our order. She came in from outside and she reeked of cigarette smoke. Then we waited for our food and that took a long time. When she came out with food she gave it to the table next to us witch we where waiting before them. Then she came out with more food and it wasn't what we order. She looked over at the other table and said sorry they have your food. She grabbed it form them and turned around and gave it to us. There was ketchup on the plate. Why would she think that I wanted that food after a stranger was eating off it. I said no I will take what you gave me in the first place. It wasn't good! The crepes are absolutely wondeful. Service is usually pretty good. I would have given 5 stars except consistency on charging for substiutions is not good, just depends on which waitress u get. I will only go on weekends from now on since I was laughed at by a waitress last Tuesday for saying we would just eat somewhere else after being told I would be charged for one piece of toast for subbing that instead of the greens that come with the crepes. The Pros: Awesome to be able to get breakfast food all day, super friendly server, really diverse menu, food was delicious, veggies were cooked perfectly, steak was yummy (not Cattlemen's yummy, but diner yummy), and the price was pretty darn great. The Cons: Service was very slow and then nonexistent, employees were much more concerned about getting out on time, they were out of baked potatoes, and when I finally got the waitress's attention to order the dessert I had told her I was going to order, I was informed the cook had already left - it was 9:02. I love keeping a local business thriving but this place has let us down way too many times and they do not seem to put any effort into their business or customers. Poor customer service...food orders didn't come out as ordered..out of items we ordered...appetizers ordered and didn't come out with no apologies or explanation or a simple sorry about that. Our worst experience ( but still tipped very well and chalked it up to a bad night), we could hear the cook cussing at my son because he made a comment that his biscuit looked like a flat Pillsbury canned biscuit. Tonight (at 6:30 p.m.) was last straw. Hair was wrapped around the pasta..no apps ever came..no apologies..no refills. Owner never came to the table to ask how are dinner was even though he said he would. Steak had so much fat that my dogs got more of the meal than I did for $23. Today me and my boyfriend decided to go get take out from Sterling Cafe. Neither one of us had ever been here but we thought we would try it out. We placed our togo order by phone and they told us it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We headed that way and our food was ready on time as said. We got back home and we were shocked that the French toast didn't come with syrup let alone the toast didn't have any butter or jelly. It would have been one thing if they asked us if we wanted condiments, however, they didn't. Luckily we had syrup and jelly at home. But what's French toast with out syrup?!?!? read more
