Top notch amazing seafood! My husband got the soft shell crab and it included three crabs! We are from Maryland and seldom get real crab. I had the Wild catch Pacific salmon, blackened with bourbon sauce on the side. Absolutely delicious and grilled to perfection! The potatoes were delicious as well. We were so happy with the meal. Other things: I'm concerned about the styrofoam serving plates for food and drinks. Also, there was only one unisex bathroom in the indoor restaurant, with a waiting line, at early hours off-season, so IDK how that works in the season. Maybe there are outdoor facilities for the outdoor dining. The waitress was amazing and the service very good. The meals really were really good. Parking is not easy. We had to park down the street at a pay for park, and walk a couple blocks to get to the restaurant, and this is off season, so something to consider. Love the look and feel of stingrays! It's a local place. They had a guy playing live music. We waited about an hour but it was all good. They were moving people in and out at a good pace. I'm not into seafood but my wife loves shrimp. She loved the fresh shrimp and finished every bite. In the week since we had been there she has been thinking about that shrimp. Probably the best food I had all week staying in Tybee. I've never had a low country boil and it did not disappoint at all. Also this was the only place that had good COLD coleslaw. It was nice and there was plenty of space between us and our neighbors. We were greeted quickly by our waitress who was friendly. We ordered a few appetizers that came pretty fast. We ordered our meal and we waited for a while for it to come out.. understandable at a touristy restaurant. After our food came I accidentally spilled my butter immediately and asked the waitress to bring more (crab legs). She never came back with it or checked on us after we got our food. I ended up flagging down another server who brought me some. She also brought out our Togo order and our check. I think the waitress didn't want to face us because she forgot the butter. We were not disappointed! Restaurant is very casual, and you eat on paper with plastic utensils. But the quality of the seafood was unmistakable. Very fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and in quantities so large we couldn't eat everything. The fried scallops were huge and probably the best I've ever had. My Husband and I are staying in Savannah for our 16th anniversary. We've been here a week and we have eaten at all the fancy restaurants Which were absolutely fabulous. Every one of them. However, this was my favorite meal. The grouper was super tender super fresh and magnificen. Melted in your mouth. Tybee Island is not known for their upscale fare, and this place is pretty par for the course. The fried seafood was always served kinda cold, as if they stuck it in the dryer straight from the freezer just long enough for it to defrost and slightly warm. The gumbo was really really salty. The two positive things I'll say are the low country boil was surprisingly good, as were the home made hush puppies. I also would recommend the fish dip, which our waiter brought out for free. Not going to lie- when I heard this place was close to the pier on Tybee, I thought it would be your typical tourist trap with boring food. I'm glad I was wrong and gave it a shot! Sting Rays has a wide variety of seafood, burgers, salads, and sandwich options. It's a great place to go enjoy some cocktails, food, and sunshine! I can't say much about the interior, as we sat outside, but there is a wide outdoor patio with seating both in the shade and the sun. We were seated immediately on a busy summer day, and our service was great! There were always servers coming by to make sure our drinks were full and we were happy. I ordered one of the specials, the Ahi Tuna Tacos. They had a large portion of delicious rare tuna, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. The tacos were really yummy, plus the spicy sauce paired with them was amazing! I also loved their fries, but I'm a sucker for pretty much all potato products. One of the most underrated restaurants in Tybee, honestly. I stayed in Tybee for four days, and the best meal I had was at Sting Rays. I had the Stingray's Platter For Two ($39.95), which came with crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, coleslaw, and corn on the cob. This is the best bang for your buck. So much flavor and so fresh. The shrimp was my favorite because you could tell it was fresh. The one thing I will comment on is that I wish I had a metal fork to cut through the crab legs.
