During my last visit, the Waikiki Yokocho Japanese Food Hall on the lower level of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza was permanently closed. It was a nice all in one destination where one can find something Japanese to eat in one of the sixteen restaurants. So it was exciting to be here for the Grand Opening of the new STIX Asia, the new food court that replaced Yokocho. One can experience cuisine from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China and Singapore at the 17 restaurants. Four of the restaurants were not opened yet during our visit. The layout of the food court was similar to what I recall from Yokocho. We were here to have dinner at Honolulu Noodle & Co for their authentic beef noodle soup, which was delicious. Would frequent here A lot before when it was yokkocho. But wth happen to this place ? Bruh going to tell y'all local people ... best place in there is nana green tea soft serve. Pretty much everything else in there either sucks in terms of food quality or way overpriced or both !!! On top of that , they don't even validate ! $3 per half an hour ! So you looking at adding another $6-9. Ok if you read this far ....here's the real tip. Park at Ross across the street, buy a water or candy for $1 and validate your ticket there. I think the validation is good for 60 min or 90 minutes. read more

STIX Asia is located where Yokocho was in Waikiki. You will need to find street parking or the most convenient parking garage and walk over as they do not validate. IMP isn't too far away and they do have a bunch of chargers for EV. The walk over from any parking garage is fine in ideal weather but make sure to have an umbrella just in case. STIX Asia houses many businesses but the one that I will enjoy the most is Gashoken. They were located previously in Shirokiya before the pandemic. After Shirokiya closed, they didn't relocate like other stalls till now. I'm not a huge fan of the parking inconvenience of Waikiki but I will endure this for Gashoken. It's that good and one of my top choices for ramen. Other businesses, in alphabetical order, that reside in STIX Asia are: Ao Gelato Baikohken Cafe Nala Honolulu Noodle & Co. K Street Food Nabe 'Aina Nana Musubi Nana's Green Tea Shanghai Bar Shingen Sushi Matsuri Udon Yama STIX Asia is a nice addition to Waikiki. From the looks of it, everyone from my visit was friendly as I walked by the venue looking for Gashoken. They are located in Noodle Street for those who are curious and they were not open when we went (sad face). While waiting for my friend, I stopped by Shanghai Bar to have a drink. We ended up eating at Sushi Matsuri. I look forward to revisit and checking out some of the other businesses here. Primarily Gashoken as they were still not open when we went. I saw from a food blogger that STIX Asia just had opened, where the former Waikiki Yokocho used to be, so I decided to check it out one Friday after work. Many of the restaurants aren't opened yet, their grand opening is scheduled for sometime in February but there were about 10 places open at the time we went. We tried a couple of places: -Udon Yama: Tried the cold Bu udon. If you show you're kamaaina, you can get a shrimp tempura for free! The Bu udon was good, noodles were a little more on the chewy side and the tempura was light and not oily but it wasn't hot. Overall not a bad alternative to Marugame. -Nanamusubi: Tried the hijiki musubi. The musubis are pretty pricey in my opinion, not sure if I'd try more. -K Street Food: Tried the mozzarella and sausage rice dog. Initially they gave us just a mozzarella one and couple bites in we realized that there was no sausage but they gladly gave us the correct one. So I saw a post from a food blogger and it peaked my interest. Parking is a Garage and you can get your ticket stamped. I would recommend that you do your research before you park here to ensure that you're not surprised as I read in some reviews. There's a variety of small restaurants to choose from here. I really enjoyed eating something new and will return to try other restaurants in here to find my favorite. I was satisfied by the service I received and speed that it came out. I did make a reservation which I would recommend as the seating is limited. I really missed this location! Opened up where the old Yokocho was. They kept the same layout and have a lot of Japanese restaurants there and coming soon! Currently there is maybe 3/4 of the place filled with restaurants, the new home of shingen if you were wondering where they moved to. I really love the atmosphere that the alley gives off, just like Japan. They have a nicely stocked bar in the middle again. Looking forward to coming down here more in the future when I need my Japanese fix and not sure what exactly I want. read more

It was lunch time in Honolulu and we had been walking for awhile taking in the sights. We saw the sign for STIX ASIA Asian Foodhall and I was intrigued and dragged hubby downstairs. What a wonderful world of yummy food! We decided on Sushi Matsuri and had a great light lunch of a sushi roll and veggie tempura. It just felt comfy in that warm, Asian food city. Ever since it reopened, it seems quite dead compared to way back then. Not sure if the restaurants here are good, but it doesn't have that much traffic. That matcha place is back and that place is pretty decent. The musubi place is ok as well. An absolute hidden gem. STIX Asia is an underground mall filled with AMAZING Asian restaurants selling all kinds of cuisines: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong, Taiwanese, etc! We came here on multiple nights of our trip because of how delicious everything was and everyone in our family went to a different Restaraunt based on preference (everyone was satisfied) . If you're craving a Japanese food hall, STIX Asia is the place for you. Located in the heart of Waikiki next to the international marketplace, it has many different types of food to choose from. We had the udon restaurant that is similar to marugame, but more expensive. I don't remember the name of it but it is one of the first restaurants as you walk in. You can pick your selection of hot or cold udon and then add tempura for an additional charge. It was all delicious but a bit pricier than Marugame but it was worth it because there was no line. We followed that up with nana's matcha ice cream for dessert. We ordered the hojicha cone, which is roasted matcha ice cream and it was so good. I'd recommend STIX Asia but do recommend parking in international marketplace or to walk because there isn't any parking. read more

This is a great place to go when you want asian but can't decide what to eat. Validated 2-hr parking, kamaaina discount (not sure if every restaurant gives it though), and updated decor. I literally circled the food court twice trying to decide where to eat at. This food court doesn't have fast food chains in it. It's a sit down dining avenue although it also has take out options. Many placed also has special discounted meals so look at the signs also. Always had good service. While the place gets crowded, I only saw one or two places that had a line to get in. Stix Asia is a collection of different restaurants ranging from Chinese, Japanese and other Asian cuisines. We dined at "Ribs and Broth Waikiki" and enjoyed some delicious pho for dinner. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and 2 pho dishes. The service was fast and efficient since the space isn't so big and easy to serve all the tables and guests. Luckily we went early as the seats filled up fast and other guests had to queue but the wait wasn't too bad from my point of view. Honestly, there's so many restaurants (total 17) in that area that you can try each one for both lunch and dinner if you wanted to. Hopefully we can return to Waikiki in the future and try other establishments there. read more

I've been to Waikiki many times and didn't know this places existed. I happened upon it during the last vacation trip and was in love with this place. So many varieties of Asian food available from bánh mì, pho, ramen, sushi, udon, chicken katsu, to desserts. The service at the pho location that I tried was great, the vibe of the whole good mall was enticing. I love coming to this place to get my variety of Asian cuisine. Maguro brothers is my favorite for take out sashimi. It is fresh and the rumor is that they get their fish fresh each day from the fish market. Everything here is yummy. I like ramen Barrio they are from Japan and I liked the thicker noodles and got the small and I still had left overs. The matcha cream is another place from Japan nanos matcha. I haven't been able to anything else yet but I will and I can't wait for bb.q chicken to open!!! read more

My husband and I walked into Stix looking for a chill place to grab dessert during our first trip ever with baby. It was exactly what we hoped for! Stix has everything you could ask for -- multiple delicious food options, drinks and dessert, air conditioning, clean bathrooms, great decor and vibes. (Bonus: baby napped great here with the background music that wasn't too loud!) We happened to come on their anniversary celebration and were impressed by the anniversary deals, but ultimately just went for a regular matcha soft serve + warabimochi from Nana's Green Tea. Definitely the most flavorful matcha soft serve I've had in while that packs a nice caffeine kick, just what we needed in the afternoon. Service was quick, and we enjoyed chatting with the folks at the concierge/welcome desk area! Would definitely come back to Stix on our next visit to Oahu. read more

Oh my Waikiki was the food terrible. This food hall is very unassuming with the great looking decor and fresh looking construction. However when you peel off the disguise, you uncover the worst and most overpriced food in all of Oahu. We tried the Korean street food spot. $25 for spicy rice cakes and $10 (!!!!) for an inedible corn dog. The breading was not cooked all the way. Terrible upon terrible. Next we tried the udon spot. It is Marugame's ugly step sister. The blatant plagiarism of the menu and serving style were the only similarities. I ordered the egg and beef udon. Beef was tougher than the alleyways near Ross. The broth was saltier than Waikiki beach. Oh my gosh the tempura topping was impressively awful and stale. Shame on you Stix. You must be a lolo haole if you decide to eat here. read more
