Waitress asked if we were celebrating anything and told her my granddaughter. service was slow the cook was good we asked for the yellow sauce and cook told waitress. Dan Dan noodles were nicely spicy, but the sauce was too sweet, too salty, and too thick. I wouldn't be surprised if it came in a can. If it doesn't, they could bottle it and sell it at the supermarket. Sushi roll fillings were good, but the rice was off. It tasted sweet, but there was no vinegar or salt flavor. Dipping in soy sauce totally overpowered the crab and avocado filling. Even the fortune cookie tasted bad- and hour later, I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. Whatever flavoring extract was used was applied too heavily. Granted, this has nothing to do with the kitchen staff. I let my date finish my meal- I was hungry, but not hungry enough to eat this. This review is for the dining side of the restaurant, as we opted for the 10min wait rather then wait the 40-60min for the Hibachi Grill. The place was busy with a lively buzz and good energy for a Saturday night. We ordered a Crab Salad which I highly recommend, one of the best I've had in all my travels. The Phoenix Roll was stuffed with fried shrimp and mango topped with crab and tempura crunch, it was the perfect bite. The Crab Wantons were crispy pockets of cream cheese goodness, and were quickly devoured. Even though there are 6 in a order they are on the smaller side so if you are in a party of 4 or more I suggest getting 2 orders as one can go down in a bite or two! The sushi and food we ordered was delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other things I saw on the menu like their Pad Thai and other Noodle Dishes. Also like how you can order from the Hibachi Grill menu in the dining area. My only blemish on this nearly perfect experience was with our waiter who try to remember our order and then later messed it up because he didn't write it down. Had to ask for napkins and silverware. It wasn't all bad as some parts of the service were good such as waters being refilled and dirty dishes being cleared. This was a busy Saturday night and we had a large group so we use two tables. The staff was amazing they got our drink orders quickly if fission Attley appetizers came in a timely fashion the chef was quite entertaining and accommodated all sorts of dietary needs. We had a birthday in the group so they brought dessert and did a birthday song. This is a "go-to" restaurant for us at The Legends for many years. Our family enjoys Chinese favorites, as well as hibachi and sushi. This place is also ALWAYS busy. But I have to give it a low rating as the last 3 times we have gone, the food has been a huge disappointment and the service is seriously lacking. I had to wave down wait staff multiple times our last visit to just get water and make an order. An hour later our food arrived and we still did not have our utensils. No wait staff was around so I had to get up and walk to the front of the restaurant to ask the bartender to ask someone to bring us silverware before our food got cold. We usually order spring rolls, and multiple orders of sushi for appetizers and the general cho spicy chicken for the main meal. We came at a busy time...day after Christmas and during lunch. Relatively quick sit at the sushi bar (which is fist come first serve) was about 15mins. They have plenty of sushi speciality rolls to pick from...one of their special rolls is the Cowboy with steak - right not true sushi but a twist I guess. We ordered the Godzilla ( crab, shrimp, cucumbers, avocado, and toppings) Spicy Shrimp (fried shrimp, avocado, cucumber and crab) and traditional California roll with spicy mayo. All good choices but not the Godzilla and spicy shrimp are basically the same just rolled different. The main sushi chef was polite and easily adjusted to the number of people at the bar all being served by him. The worst restaurant experience. Dishonest. The manager has equipped the front desk to fail. They tell every single party that comes in "30 minute wait" which in reality it is a 2 hour wait. Whenever you check in on how much longer they say "just 15 more minutes" which means 1 more hour. It is a free for all with 70 customers waiting to be seated all angry and frustrated with the dishonesty and lack of respect of their time. Keep in mind you have people with Reservations for 7pm that do not get seated until 8:15pm. Reservations mean nothing. Many people who waited for over an hour were never seated because they closed. Not the customers fault when they were promised "just 30 minutes". Lastly, the menu prices were not accurate and you didn't know that until the bill was more than expected. Place seems like a money grab - trying to keep people waiting and keep people paying with dishonest information and zero transparency. read more

Had a date night with my husband recently. The staff were friendly, and the service was prompt. The miso soup an rainbow roll seemed to lack distinctive flavors but all the food was fresh. I went to support one of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City Kansas. I am sorry to say I will not be going back. Their sushi has always been excellent but this evening the sushi rolls were small pieces. I do understand raising your rates because of Covid. Come on raising the rates for smaller pieces of sushi!!!!! The different rolls I ordered all of them tasted the same. I know the shrimp was ground up. The restaurant was so dark like they didn't want you to see exactly what you were being served. I am not joking when I say the sushi pieces with the rice on them were nickel or dime sizes. Price chopper the grocery store here has bigger pieces of sushi for less money and their pieces are great. Needless to say I will never be going back again. read more

Awful. The 1st set of silverware/napkin they gave me had hair wrapped in it. I got another plate/silverware and the plate had chunks of food stuck on it. The 3rd plate had something red and dried on it. I finally got up and went to talk to an employee standing near the kitchen to request a clean plate and silverware. The waitress came up to ask what was wrong. I told her. She apologized and said she would clean it herself and bring me out a new set. The chef started serving and I still didn't have a plate or silverware to eat with, so everyone started eating except me. She finally brought it out and the plate had a puddle of water in it from not being dried and she brought me 2 forks instead of a fork and spoon, so I had nothing to eat my soup with. I got tired of requesting assistance, so I just said nothing. When she came to the table later to ask how everything was and if I liked her drink, I said yes and she said "free" "free" "free". I said ok, thank you, but when she brought the check, the drink was still on there and she said absolutely nothing about it . We love coming here to eat at the hibachi side. Originally we use to just go eat at the traditional side but since only go for hibachi. Our daughter loves Chinese food and steak so it works out well for us. The food is always good. This last visit the service was not great but they had a lot of new people. But the more experienced staff stepped in and helped. We actually called and asked if there was going to be a wait time to get in (10 minutes before we arrived) and they originally told us no we would have no wait. When we get there there they told us it would be a 30 minute wait because there was a party of 20 ahead of us. After we voiced our unhappiness about the situation we got right in. Other than that we would go back again and again and again. We did do our rehearsal dinner there about 9 years ago. And they were able to accommodate a large group. We ended up with 3 hibachi tables with family from out of town. Every one had a good time and loved the food. read more

First time going today around 7:30pm on the dining side. It was not a good experience and first impression. Bathrooms were awful. Water all over the floors in stalls. Toilet paper holder was open in mine and the toilet paper was all on the floor. One stall was out of order. No one was in trying to clean up the mess. I didn't go back in to see if it was cleaned up. Employees acted like they didn't want to be there. The host to us to our table and he wasn't very friendly, he apparently wanted to go home. The server was nice but very slow, we ate our appetizer before she even took our order. It was still steady when we got there but got slower around 8pm. We saw some other servers cleaning the floor or putting tables back to where they were at, but they could have helped. I got a really good drink, pineapple dream cake. Yummy! We got the crab wontons for an appetizer. They were good, but small. The girl that brought them wasn't friendly at all and just kinda put the plate on the table and it made a loud sound. She obviously didn't care. Finally we ordered and got chicken fried rice and beef lo mein. Both were pretty good but the fried rice didn't have any carrots or scallions like it said on menu. Had a lot of sprouts, it just looked kinda boring. I ate some and I was just done with it after 5 minutes. I will add more veggies to it at home. Beef lo mein was way better. Better flavor. I will say it's not the best sushi I've ever had - philly roll and red dragon. The spicy mayo was very spicy, a little more than normal. I've stayed in this area for work a few time, and decided to stop into Stix to carry out dinner. I wasn't familiar with the restaurant but thought I'd give it a shot. Someone else hit the nail on the head when they stated that the host/hostess needs to understand their importance to the impression of the customer. He/She is the first person a customer sees! When I walked in, the person who "greeted" me was clearly aggravated. It made me second guess my order but I went through with it anyways. The restaurant itself seems neat, and there is a small bar area right when you walk in. I sat and had a drink while I waited for my food to be prepared. However, the bartender left when my food was ready and I didn't want to wait any longer. I left a $5 bill and walked out (I only had a soda), irritated I had overpaid but didn't want to eat cold food. I had the Crab Wontons and Asian Chicken Salad. The Wontons were delicious - perfect two-bite appetizers that weren't overly doughy and fried like a typical crab Rangoon. However, the Asian Chicken Salad was beyond disappointing. The salad was 80% iceberg, 15% chicken, and then a few cucumbers and day-old chopped tomatoes. Equally disappointing was the dressing. I've been to Hibachi grills more times than I can count, and the Ginger dressing is always consistent. But this Ginger dressing was creamy and smooth - nothing like what I'm used to. There are too many restaurants in the area to deal with poor customer service, so hopefully Stix improves. read more

The waitstaff was very accommodating. Both of us had Mongolian style. Me the beef and chicken. The wife shrimp. Both fried rice. In both circumstances the meat was very tender and tasty. The vegetables were well cooked but still crispy. An appetizer of dumplings and bang bang chicken preceded. Price, adequate for an appetizer and two main dishes. This place is great if you want sushi or hibachi made fresh in front of you. The chefs are so very kind and love to make you laugh, so tip em because they really work for it! The hibachi is an amazing intimate experience with friends, loved ones, or strangers at the table alike. They do all the tricks and make flames gigantic and are expert marksmen when it comes to shooting the shrimp, eggs, or whatever else into your mouth. It's a great show all around. I left the 3 star review because the FOH staff is less than helpful when it comes to taking care of their customers. When all you want is somebody... ANYBODY to notice you're out of water, and when they do... they act miserable about it like it's their job or something. Other than that, the food is to die for, and it's nearly (looking at you Nara) the best sushi in town. It may be a little pricey but the ambience of the entire restaurant is great... until there are a few people in the building with birthdays. I guess I can empathize with the servers since that song is so obnoxious, but they could at LEAST pay attention to their guests more than each other.
