We ate there today and every time we eat there its a great experience! The manager was super attentive and noticed our meal didnt all arrive at the same time; we didnt mind at all but it was nice he noticed and stopped by our table and spoke to us. i've given stonefire grill 3 tries now since december 2023 and have been so disappointed every time. i am done. i used to love their salads and bbq and food quality is awful now whereas i used to tell everyone to go there. smaller portions, bad lettuce, fatty meats. will not be returning, prices up, quality down. only highlight is the kind staff working behind the counter. read more

I appreciate the quick response starting from the crew to their store manager (Ryan) and all the way to their General Manager (Matt) when I brought up my concern about a live bug on my salad that I found on my takeout meal. This happens when you're dealing with fresh vegetables. At least I know it's organic :-) They took it very seriously and I believe them when they talk about revisiting their kitchen protocols and processes in handling their fresh vegetables. Usually a really good experience with take out but it was inedible today. Avoid the guacamole/salsa & chips! The salsa was extremely acidic, a clear indication of poor refrigeration and old age; we took 1 bite and had to spit it up. The guacamole was brown with a .5 cm of fluid filming the top. Poured the liquid in the sink & attempted to scoop away the surface in hopes to find a green center but it was old and brown through & through. Stonefire is the home of my favorite Caesar salad! -- but today, the greens came with mud / dirt in the crevices. read more

It was delicious. I can't tell if the serving sizes were huge or if our fondue 'snack' was just too much. lol The patio area was so soothing. It was a beautiful evening. I felt the social distancing was well done. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and there were full cloves of roasted garlic in the mashed potatoes. It was delicious!!!! Usually I find that Stonefire serves fairly reliable versions of barbecue, and at reasonable prices. This time was no different. We weren't too hungry and the manager suggested we get the tri-tip dinner for 2, which includes a pound of tri-tip, caesar salad for 2, 4 breadsticks + 1 side. The salad tasted fresh and the side (beans) were delicious. However, the star of the show was sadly disappointing. The tri-tip was served a little colder than room temperature. We thought about sending it back, but it was late and we were tired. In retrospect, we probably should have sent it back and requested a replacement since Stonefire is supposed to be all about the barbecue. read more

We went to dinner as a family tonight. Time to get out and live some normalcy during the Covid 19 shutdown. Stonefire had outside seating and we decided to have some good food. The host was pleasant and made us feel welcome. We told them we were there to "dine in" and they took our order and directed us to the drink station. A friendly server filled our drink orders, gave us utensils and BBQ sauce and we enjoyed the patio seating. There was another family enjoying themselves at an adjacent table more than 6 feet away. The food came out hot, fresh and awesome. We had salads, bread sticks and tri tip, which was actually cooked to order, medium. They checked on us and made sure we were happy. Extremely happy. Matt the manager came out to make sure things were going well, and we told him how thankful we were to have a place to go, and feel normal again. The restaurant was clean and they wiped down things which I am sure is now a protocol. We will go again, and again, and again. After spending the day at our friend's BBQ welcoming party in Camarillo, we were making our way back home in the evening. Decided we should probably make a quick stop to grab some food for the road since it would be over an hr drive. Close to 915 pm, we decided Stonefire would be a great choice for something filling and healthy. The gal that took our order was great. We ordered the roasted corn & arugela salad and the tri tip sandwich with cauliflower salad for a side. She said, "It'll be about 15 mins. for your order. Maybe even sooner since it's a salad and sandwich." Disappointingly, no. It was close to 30 mins. when they called for my name! At 20 mins. I started to notice the wait time was long. At about 26 mins or so my fiance stood up and politely waited in line to ask someone about our order (2 mins). Just about that time, the guy calls my name. I know the time in detail bc I was comparing the time on the receipt with real time. Never have I ever... waited this long for an order that should take no more than about 20 mins. It was close to closing. There weren't any customers that ordered before us. People dining in, had their food, except for a couple of tables, which I noticed on the walk to the restroom after putting in my order. There was one other guy that came in for his online/phone order which was all ready to go, so I really don't understand why it took 30 mins for our food. I had the option of having the dressing mixed in with my salad or not, I told the gal yes mix the dressing in since I would have to eat this in the car, save me the mess. We arrived at at almost empty restaurant after lunch. 15 minutes after ordering we asked the manager where our food was. He brought it out shortly thereafter. My grilled veggie sandwich was served cold which surprised me but I never checked it before I ordered it It was served on a big roll with a thin layer of vegetables and one thin slice of cheese. We went to Stoneware Grill in Westlake today for lunch and really enjoyed the food and the service. The person who took our order (Hailey) is an outstanding worker and I made sure to tell the manager so he would know how much we appreciated her helping us. She later came by to make sure all was well and brought us to go containers. I have certain foods I can't eat and she made sure they weren't in my salad. Very pleasant and welcoming. I have been going to this StoneFire Grill for well over ten years now. Sadly, the quality of this location has gone down quite a bit. May favorite the Normally melt in your mouth Tri-trip was like chewing gum tonight. Inedible!! The worst tri trip I've ever had. Horrible. The normally juicy lemon garlic chicken breast: dry like chicken breast is- pastie. The salad was good, although a little light on the dressing. This is now the third meal from this location that I have been bitterly disappointed with. I have never eaten here so I went in to check it out because I have heard great things about Stonefire Grill. I went in to order around 11:30am and I was the only one in line. After waiting around 3 min, a server came up to the counter. I thought she was going to take our order but then answered the phone instead. She didn't even acknowledge us or say "I'll be right with you". At that point, my mom and I just left. They clearly weren't busy as I was the only one in line. I have been meaning to write this for awhile now- Food used to be extremely dependable- we have been customers for along time( maybe 9 years) Now I am not sure if chicken will be old and dry or done correctly. 50/50 prop. The family and I stopped by Stonefire Grill last night and we were really impressed with the quality and price of the food and the friendly staff. We arrived early at 4 PM and there were already quite a few patrons there. We ordered a few of the specials that consisted of tri tip, pizza and a salad. We ordered 2 of these specials along with a chip and guacamole dip appetizer, drinks and a pulled pork sandwich. All together we spent about $90 and it was a lot of food and lots to take home. I went to Thousand Oaks, California to see my Mom and step Dad. We went here to have lunch. My Mom had 1/2 a chicken in garlic lemon and salad. I had the tri tip and ordered a head of cauliflower to go with it. It comes with a lemony sauce and is steamed and then roasted. They are set up where when you walk in they take your order. And you then go find a table. You also get your own condiments and serve yourself your beverage of choice. Kinda different They also have an outdoor patio where you can eat also. Welp, they got the fly problem solved, but now they have to resolve the food temperature: for some odd reason, every time I get the tri-tip, it's served practically cold! I have to ask to have them heat it up nearly every time, and THIS after I request that it be served hot at the beginning! Is asking for hot food to be served hot too much to ask? read more

What a wonderful experience. We were first greeted at the door by a nice young man. Our server Damien, handsome, was so kind with helping us pick our meals and being so patient. My son and I got there at 4:00 PM, before any dinner rush. There was maybe four tables in the entire restaurant occupied. The staff spent more time socializing with each other, versus actually delivering our order. I had to go up and ask for our drinks. And then when our pizza was delivered, I asked the person to please bring Parmesan cheese and he said no problem. Next thing I know he's out running around talking with other servers And not bringing back my cheese. I then got up and said what about my cheese, and he said oh sorry I forgot.
