We phoned in an order for the $19.99 Tri Tip for 2 special -- a great deal for a very affordable price. This package includes a half tri tip, small salad, 4 breadsticks, and a small side. We ordered the Cowboy Beans as our small side. The Tri Tip was delicious and flavorful, the salad was alright (dressing was a bit overpowering), the garlic breadsticks were good but not amazing (they were also on the colder end), and the beans were yummy the first couple of bites but became increasingly salty(?) with each bite. I still say I'm pretty satisfied with this order because the main focus was the tri tip and that was great, but it would have been an ever better experience if the rest of the package maintained the same degree of taste and quality. read more

And the "small" Chop ain't small, that's for sure. Always busy, with a lively atmosphere. Great place to hang back and chat up a storm in a big group, or for some 1 on 1 time with a special someone. Either way, you can't go wrong here. The only problem is if you're eating here alone since you WILL look like a fish out of water. Having three doors, two of which placed at opposite ends of the room and one off to the side, it's apparent that there was some intelligent design involved here. Unfortunately, due to the immense popularity of this place, the floor layout does little for crowd control, but it's a nice thought. One door is used exclusively for pickup orders, while the other door is meant for diners choosing to eat in. Found in the dining area, the third door helps filter out those leaving after their meal, so there won't be the unpleasant mess of trying to exit through two other exists blocked by hungry and slightly agitated crowds of people.. Lined along the windows walls are booths, which embrace the intimate feeling for couples and families, while the centre area is lined with tables and chairs which can be pulled together for those oh, so big groups. The one constant mystery to me is the floor is always slightly slippery, I've never been sure as to why, but it sure does endorse the possibility of falling. As much as I'd like to dock the rating one star for not having REAL BBQ, I also have to consider that at the rate people dine from this place, even if there was genuine BBQ in supply, it would be long gone far before I ever got to it. We ordered our lunch which included a bottle of wine. We sat down and moments later, Tori, a server came to our table and said, "I really have some bad news, the wine you ordered is not chilled yet, but we have another type of Chardonnay chilled". Yawn...average middle American casual dining. You can get bbq tri tip, pizzas and salads. This is more of a lunch place. This is a walk up, order and pay, then sit down and get served. Their bbq chopped salad is good with chopped tri tip. Pizza is kind of bleh. They have the typical flavors nothing really special. They have bbq chx- don't get it DRY DRY DRY. The dining room is nice looking but really loud. Everything is slate and stone. The ceilings are rounded so the sound just bounces everywhere and nothing to absorb it. We got the Homemade Pizza Kit- it came with 3 pizza dough balls, pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, large garden salad and ranch. I've had the pleasure of eating here numerous times and getting catered food, everything is awesome. I feel like this place can do no wrong. Parking here is nice and easy in the big lot. I've never had to wait long here, though it does get busy (but they have lots of seating so hopefully not too long). The staff are always friendly and helpful, always accommodating. When I had came to pick up a bulk order (25 people's worth) for a holiday party, this place was SLAMMED but all the staff worked quickly and efficiently, helping to bring out all the food to my car. Awesome experience, recommend catering from here, everyone loves this stuff. In terms of food here, you can never go wrong with the tri-tip here. Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, perfectly moist. However, the tri-tip tastes BEST in the BBQ chopped salad. I am by no means a salad kind of guy, but this salad is amazing. Perfect blend and combo of veggies, meat, everything! I could eat it everyday. The marinara and pesto pastas are delicious as well. Who would have thought a BBQ place does pasta so well! The pizzas are out of this world as well. PRICE: Depends on your orders but $15 seems more than enough per person. AMBIANCE: This is a hybrid of a sit down restaurant and fastfood. Blech! Before I begin, I want to note that my experience was not contributed by, in any way, the employees. They were all wonderful, patient, and attentive. It's the food and prices I didn't care for. The atmosphere was chaos on one side, pure relief on the other. My motto is, "If you can make it at home better, don't eat it elsewhere." This is all food that tastes better at home. Tri-tip was pretty decent, nothing spectacular, the potatoes were almost identical to my grand disappointment I brought to Christmas dinner (My sister wouldn't let me live it down), the shrimp were too lemony (I adore lemon), my cartwheel salad was just strange, and my mom's Greek salad was pretty good. The portions were minimal and unspectacular. There is, however, one saving grace: THAT. CARROT CAKE. That carrot cake was the whole reason I wanted to go there. My mom has told legends about that carrot cake. We endured the chaos of the streets of Valencia for that carrot cake. After meltdowns, threatening vehicles, anxiety, and more, that carrot cake was by far the most delicious creation to ever come from a vegetable. It literally made it all worth it. The best things on the menu in my opinion are the caesar salad, pepperoni pizza, the half chicken either bbq or with lemon garlic, the grilled salmon with lemon garlic and the bbq tri-tip. My buddies always swear by the south of the border salad with tri-tip. They expanded the restaurant and it is very new and clean and even when busy after 12 noon there are plenty of booths and tables. read more

When we moved to SCV 2 yrs ago, this fast became our FAVOURITE place to eat. Their food is excellent. That being said, this last year, the service has truly gone down. We recently had a poor experience. We waited a LONG time for our meals. We were then informed they didn't have the ribs my husband had ordered! They hadn't even began preparing his meal! They finally served him 20 mins later. In the meantime the rest of us STILL waited for our pizza, only to discover it hadn't been put on to cook! I wrote a letter and was given a $50 gift card, which was very thoughtful. We were willing to give them another shot. We came in today for Sunday lunch. They served my husband an incorrect order. It was fixed shortly after. Again, we still waited another 15-20 minutes til our pizza came. By the time our pizza arrived, my husband was finished w his meal! So much for Sunday lunch together. This place is good because you don't have to leave a tip but I always feel guilty and leave $2 or $3. Tri-Tip and Rib plate with mashed Potatoes and a cold Pepsi will keep you under $20. Peak times can get busy but I've never NOT been able to get a seat. Pizza is next on my list. Manager who is a lady always walks around to make sure things are okay. I like it. I came here with my parents and another couple their age. This was my first time here and I was overwhelmed by the number of menu choices. Also my mother eats gulten free and they claim to have a gulten free menu but couldn't locate it. They then tried to print one out for her but also couldn't figure out how to do that. The place was really busy and we were holding up the line because they couldn't find a gulten free menu. They also wouldn't answer my mom's questions about what menu items had what ingredients. I understand there are legal issues here as they can be sued over food allergies but it was still really poor customer service. My mother was frustrated over the lack of information and finally ordered a salad that she was pretty sure was fine. The food arrived quickly and was good but nothing special. I probably won't come back here unless I have friends who want to go. And even then I will probably try to talk them out of it. Just a bad experience. I don't really care for this place. Maybe it's because the name Stonefire reminds me of Firestone Grill in San Luis Obispo, and every time I go I wish I was getting the latter... Firestone Grill would make a killing in Santa Clarita... but thats another story. Anyway, the food is not that bad... in fact the tri-tip, the salmon, and the mac & cheese are pretty good. But this place is geared toward family style (the portions are large), and for an individual or a couple, that want a few different things.... it will cost you. They have a few pre-bundled choices where you get salad and choice of meat, but I don't always want salad with my tri-tip. If you want to mix it up (beans, mac & cheese, veggies), you end up spending twice as much as you would like. I don't know.... maybe it's just me, but it takes me forever to figure out what I want, and I always feel like I am getting screwed after I pay. It has also been my experience that they bring out your order as it's ready. There has been more than one occasion that we have received the tri-tip I ordered as my main 10-15 min's before my fiancee was served the salmon that she ordered for her main (same ticket). I then finish my meal before she even gets a chance to start... or my food goes cold waiting. This is just bad practice, and like I said, it has happened to us more than a few times. My suggestions: Tone down the portions for the individual meals, which would allow you to drop the prices a bit too. Make it easier to pick and choose between less expensive sides to go with your choice of main. Bring out the complete order when it is all ready - this is not sushi. read more

Then for "dessert" I order the massively sliced Carrot Cake. The recipes here are pretty basic, simple, and recognizable. Its a family friendly environment, definitely not rated for its romantic or unique atmosphere. You've got to like (if not love) Stonefire. I've been going to the one in West Hills since they first opened and now that we moved to the SCV, this was our first time to this location. We were happy to see that it was familiar. Lots of seating inside and a patio outside as well. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. The cashier was nice and our food came out in a timely manner. My son's kids pizza came out first (thank goodness this restaurant knows to serve kids first!) Then came my meal, the Caesar salad, my favorite. It always has a little too much dressing, but I forgot to order light dressing, so it was fine. Love that garlicky dressing, but definitely don't order it on a date, your breath will be kickin'. My husband got the 1/4 chicken and tri tip with gorgonzola and a side of mash. He loved it. All in all, another yummy meal for families on the go. If you want soft, chewy, flavorful breadsticks this is the place to go to. We normally get 6 breadsticks with our dinner just because we love them so much. Of course if we don't finish them we always wrap them up and save them. 3) TRI TIP: this delicious soft and tender meat is our favorite. The salad and trip tip are a must when coming to STONE FIRE. There isn't much to be explained about this tri tip since it speaks for itself! 4) MASHED POTATOES, now when it comes to these scrumptious potatoes I wouldn't say it's my most favorite thing in the menu but they very delicious. This is my favorite place for lunch or dinner. Last night we ordered (by phone) BBQ chopped chicken salad, garlic mashed potatoes and of course BBQ tri- tip. When I arrived to pick up our order they were able to quickly add a dozen breadsticks. All of it was delicious. The chopped salad was crisp and fresh and the mashed potatoes weren't too garlicky. We get the Family Meal frequently but we also use Stonefire quite regularly for large get togethers. To me it's a no-brainer: que es mas macho - cold subs or tri tip? The tri tip, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and caesar salad are as good as it gets. They're awesome. For the fam, we get the "Family Meal" with the whole tri tip or the boneless chicken breasts. It comes with a medium salad (garden, Caesar, greek or cartwheel) and 12 breadsticks. I'd ask for the dressing on the side if you aren't eating within a minute of them tossing it. For parties of around 8, we get the "Our Favorite" - 1 whole chicken, 1 whole tri tip, 1 large salad, 18 breadsticks and 2 large sides. For larger parties, we've also used Stonefire. And it's always a hit. We've even used Stonefire for a wedding! They brought the food, set it up, and even supplied a few people to put it together and serve. All in all it was way less (and way better) than our other options! read more

I was very skeptic at first when I saw that there were some negative reviews. Family wanted to go there and I got vetoed. Boy am I glad I did. So we were 11 people in total including 3 kids. We walk in and immediately greeted by someone that worked there. We figure out what to eat, order and go sit down. Our entire order for 11 people came out to $65.00 and some change. Not bad. I get a bit worried. Somewhat cheap food usually means not so good on taste. Food shows up shortly after. Meat is cooked exactly how we ordered it (to perfection). Salads (Cesar and Greek) were very fresh. Breadsticks are very yummy. Overall a great experience and very delicious food. I think my family and I may have found our weekly family lunch spot. read more

I've been going to this establishment for over 15 years with my family and am super upset with the decline in quality of food in the recent years. I would go here once a week and be greatly satisfy. Now, every time I order take out/eat in I am always disappointed the quality of food, especially the garlic bread. Every time it comes out burnt with no garlic butter on it. Really disappointing because that is one of the reasons why we go here. I came after work today to get an early dinner. Must have just missed the lunch rush- all the open tables were dirty- so I ended up asking a guy- Wolfe- if he would mind wiping a table off for me. He was extremely nice and really made sure to clean the table I asked for honestly was really cool. He even apologized for the area being dirty- I'm really weird about germs so I definitely appreciated that..... I was then waiting for my food to be done- and was kinda "people watching" in a way while on my phone. A customer at a table asked Wolfe for something and he went and got it no attitude or anything- just happy to help- the thing that blew me away was the fact that as he was walking back with the pizza box- he accidentally dropped it on the floor- I don't think the customer that asked for it saw him drop it- so honestly he could have pretended it didn't happen and still give the people the box- but he went up the the table to get something and told her he would get her a new box because he had dropped that one. She didn't mind that one- but the fact that he was super helpful and honest and willing to go above and beyond and not cut corners is what got me and I was honestly like blown away at his mannerisms. Wolfe ended up delivering my food to the table and was still extremely kind and friendly. Great customer service skills!!! happy customer here!!
