We had an amazing character dining experience here! The characters made frequent rounds to each table, giving guests plenty of opportunities for interactions, photos, and memorable moments. The buffet offered a great variety of delicious options, and the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our visit. We've also dined at Goofy's Kitchen in the past and if I had to choose between the two, I would pick this character dining experience. First, you get to see Mickey Mouse here (although Goofy is not part of the lineup). Second, the characters seemed much more interactive, engaging, and personable with the children. Third, the buffet selection was noticeably better with much more appealing options. An added bonus is that you receive three hours of complimentary valet parking when you validate your parking ticket with the restaurant, making the experience even more convenient.
This place is great if you really love Disney characters and want to interact with them. They are fun, interactive, friendly and entertaining. The staff is great also. They are attentive and friendly. Now the food..../the food is just ok and in my opinion a bit overpriced for the selection and quality. I think it's more for the character experience. Now the food isn't horrible. I just can't justify the price. It's a buffet style type of place. It's $70/person. My favorite items were the prime rib, the beef brisket, pork belly and the bread pudding. I also had an espresso martini. It was decent but not amazing. If I were with a party that want med to interact with thr characters, I'll come back.
You're never too old for Disney, no matter what anyone says. And if they do... they're probably miserable and you should honestly feel bad for them. Reservations are highly encouraged and the best part is you don't even need park tickets since it's located inside the Grand Californian Hotel. We went for brunch and they had the standard all-you-can-eat spread with a salad bar, fruit bar, and dessert station. Some standouts for me were the Mickey waffles, lox salmon, heirloom salad, tri-tip and believe it or not, the hot chocolate!!! The food quality and variety honestly surprised me in the best way. What really made the experience magical was the character interactions. Every character came directly to our table, took their time taking photos and made the experience feel so personal and memorable. At around $60 per person, it actually felt very worth it considering Disney pricing and the overall experience. Whether you're bringing the kids or coming by yourself, this brunch experience truly felt like part of the Disney magic. I'd definitely save this for a special occasion visit. Pro tip: ask for a hot chocolate to-go before you leave!!!
We had quite the experience at Storytellers Cafe. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and mine. She had suggested this option as she knew that both granddaughters would enjoy it even more than we would. The food is mostly good. There were a few tiny misses as far as flavor expectations versus what the items actually tasted like. On the other hand, I got to enjoy the most delicious fresh blackberries I've ever had! The lox were also really good, and I allowed myself a small bit of the flavored cream cheese (not supposed to have cow's milk dairy). Loved the scrambled eggs, which were really fluffy and tasty. I'm not a big eater, but I was able to taste lots of yummy items. Service is serve-yourself from the buffet, with a table server to clear plates as you go back and forth to the buffet line. Ours was nice enough, but he didn't impress our daughter, who was paying for her group of five, while Dear Hubby and I paid our share for the two of us. Their French macarons for dessert were also amazing. Better than expected there! Sweet Granddaughter (age 6) had great fun asking for / receiving signatures from the roaming characters - Minnie & Mickey, Goofy, and Chip & Dale. It was on the loud side in the cavernous dining room. Ambiance is. . .interesting, with an emphasis on the history of storytellers coming to California in the Mission era.
*Tourist Trap* Located in the Beautiful Disney Grand California Hotel & Spa. Service was wonderful and my daughter loved all the 6 different characters going around while we ate. The hotel and restaurant are beautiful. Now the problem. For my Wife, Daughter & I to eat there, it was $200+. The selection was very minimal and the quality was so so and much under other nice hotels I've been to. The omelette bar and Mediterranean Quiche were the best. The cappuccino (for extra money) was good. The rest was plan Jane. Potatoes not cooked enough, hash browns not cooked enough, regular quiche had weird consistency, the rest of the food seemed rather low quality. I'm glad my daughter enjoyed the characters, but that will be out last time. *I'd rather spend $300 for us 3, if it was high quality!*
Buffet brunch and character dining -- is there any better way to spend a birthday? Storytellers is one of those places that you need to try at least once. We were lucky to get a reservation on a Sunday because we booked well in advance, which is hugely recommended! From the moment we entered, the energy in here is incredible. Candisse greeted us, wished us happy birthday, and even made a birthday button for my triplet sister who wasn't joining us that day. It's such a small touch but it made us laugh and my sister who couldn't join us really appreciated it. The buffet is actually super solid. Like, I was expecting hotel breakfast vibes but the eggs were fluffy and the Mickey waffles were overflowing. There was no scrimping here. They also have much more than just breakfast, including a few salads, a carving station, teriyaki chicken, and Mac and cheese. There's also a pretty extensive dessert and fruit station. We also had a great time interacting with the characters. It's a little awkward as an adult sometimes knowing how to interact but they were so funny and Mickey had us cracking up with his reactions. Overall, I would say, the experience is worth the price tag to try at least once.
We had dinner here last night for my son's birthday, and it was incredible. We have been here before, and it remains my son's absolute favorite. In my opinion, Storytellers Cafe is the best character restaurant on property, compared to Goofy's Kitchen and Plaza Inn.They offer a high-quality, buffet-style meal with excellent options. There is a huge variety of meats, including prime rib, pork, and chicken, alongside tons of delicious sides and desserts. The highlight of the night was the character interactions. My son gets so excited meeting everyone, and seeing his reactions is truly priceless. They also brought him a birthday cupcake with a candle so we could celebrate. If you want great food and magical memories, this is the place to go!
We LOVED our time at Storyteller's Cafe! We went for "The Christmas Carol" themed dinner and had the best time. It really was the highlight of our holiday season! Food- 10/10. The food was delicious. I especially loved the salmon, salads, and desserts. It's buffet style so you could get as much as you wanted. They had food for kids and adults. So yum! Service- 9/10. Everyone was soooo kind and helpful. The only bummer was that I told our server that it was my dad's birthday and he said he would bring out a birthday cupcake but he never did :( I even reminded him and it still didn't come. Experience- 100/10. The characters were soooooo cute all dressed up. They go around to every table, so everyone has a chance to meet them and take pictures/videos. It honestly was so fun and really was the highlight of our holiday season. Extras- Valet parking was included, which was really nice. I believe the pricing is $60 or $65 a person, which is totally worth it in my opinion with the food and experience that's included.
Storytellers has been one of my go-to restaurants on Disney property for at least 20 years. It has almost always provided a great, buffet experience and certain dishes that have been on the menu for decades. On this visit, we took my daughter to the character breakfast. She loves Mickey and Minnie, so this was a must. They also have Chip, Dale and Pluto here, although Pluto never made it over to us. The service here was good. We really liked our server. She was very attentive and got us drinks and cleared our plates pretty frequently. The current brunch menu has a really good assortment of both healthy and comfort food items. I love that they have so many fruits, berries, yogurt and toppings like chia seeds and good granola! My favorite was the smoked salmon and all the toppings for you to make an excellent lox-like bagel. All of the hot food items I tried were good. I especially liked the ham and the tri-tip at the carving station. There is a great make-you-own omelette station with good options and all of your standard breakfast fare is there. The only thing I didn't love was their quiche, but the tomatoes it was served with were quite tasty. For dessert, Storytellers makes the best bread pudding of any buffet over ever been to. If they have it then it is a must. They have other good desserts, but I was much too full to eat anything else at this point. Note: The characters may take time to get to your table, so plan on being here for a while if you want to see them all.
My son loves attending character brunches and dinners here. At 4 he's also into trying a variety of foods. During breakfast, his favorite items include their sausages, eggs, hash browns and fruit. He's not a waffle guy but I'm working on it. At dinner, I like the variety of foods for those of us who don't eat meat. It's more than just salad. You can get some pretty tasty butternut squash ravioli here. My son loves trying everything from the kids pizza and pasta to their roasted chicken and vegetables. Service has always been pretty great for us and if our waiter sees we're looking for a certain character to visit before we go, they make it happen. Bathrooms are located inside, which is very nice for the newly potty training crowd. A ok!
This is one of my most favorite character, dining experiences in the Disney bubble. I come here regularly every time I stay at one of the resorts and it never disappoints first of all the brunch breakfast buffet is so delicious you can't go wrong. The lunch is just as good but the dinner the dinner that's where it's at !!! the dinner is the best so many good food options and the desserts just as good . If you have little ones they will love it. It's completely worth it. The characters come to your table, they dance, they interact. It's just hard to describe the amazing feeling ... I mean, even me as an adult I continue to come here and my son loves it !! Go ahead and book that reservation because walk-ins are pretty much unheard of so get on your app and have fun.

I love character dining! It's one of my favorite thing to do, even if I don't go to one of the parks, I will drive out for a meal. Which exactly is what I did at Storytellers Cafe, located inside the Grand Californian this past Monday. I went to Mickey's Tales of Adventure Brunch Buffet with a friend who has an Inspire key so it was easy to get a reservation and get a discount! The cozy Craftsman-style dining room is a warm, friendly backdrop while the character roam the restaurant to greet guests. The characters for breakfast and brunch were Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale, dressed in their explorer outfits. FOOD: The buffet includes hand-carved meats, fish of the day, chilaquiles, croissants, muffins, danishes, fruits, eggs, bacon, hash browns, Mickey Waffles, an omelet station and a dessert bar! Everything I had was delicious. I had an omelette, bacon, prime rib, fries, caprese salad, gluten free Mickey waffle and fruit. Gluten-free Mickey Waffles available! You just have to order it with your server but I was disappointed in the lack of gluten free options. My only gluten free dessert option was the soft serve or a gf blueberry muffin (I went for the muffin and it was ok). DINNER: The current dinner time is not character dining, but starting mid-May 2025, it'll be Donald's Tales of Adventure Dinner Buffet with Donald, Daisy, Clarabelle, Goofy, Pluto. It's a BBQ menu. I can't wait to try it and report back! SERVICE: Just like all the other Disney properties, the staff and cast members are all professional, friendly and want to make sure you're having a good time. A staff came over and asked my friend if we met all the characters. CHARACTERS: There's actually quite a lot of character interaction opportunities during the meal. They stop by every table to greet all their guest- kids and adults! When they play the 'song', all the staff claps and all the characters dance around all the tables. Safari Disney adventure times can be found at storytellers cafe with an amazing character best friend including Mickey and friends. They give ample time to all tables with plenty of characters and if you're there long enough, you get to enjoy a couple of visits from your best Disney pals. They take pictures of you and come to your table for ease. The food is a huge buffet style with American and Mexican cuisine. I didn't go for the food but I sure did enjoy it, especially the infamous Mickey waffles but you can practically get those anywhere. It's very busy and expect to be waiting for seating even with a reservation...can't escape that aspect of Disney no matter where you go. Mickey's adventure breakfast truly is a memory for the books. read more
This is a mixed review only because the service was amazing and the food was ok. I would say it is the smallest selection of food I have ever seen. It is also on the pricier side of buffets for the food. However I did realized that the price is including the experience of having the characters there and taking pictures. Overall our family enjoyed it, but will I go back probably not unless I was taking someone new who hasn't experienced it. The place is very loud by 9 am The only thing I was a bit concerned about was the fact that we ordered a birthday cake in our reservation that was never brought out. read more

We went on Saturday before the closing for remodel. We had a reservation and the restaurant closed at 9pm. The restaurant had reconfigured the buffet to one long line. The beginning is fresh fruit, shrimp, multiple types of fresh salad, kid friendly food and multi side dishes. The main meat courses were prime rib and turkey . If you have allergies Disney tries to accommodate them. Dessert has endless possibilities but I love the bread pudding. Service is fast for your drinks and someone is always refilling your drinks. Pricey but a once in a while treat. The restaurant is designed like your in Yosemite with exploring phrases and Disney music plays while you eat. read more

We're back at the Disney grand California, Hotel and spa. Ever since my girlfriend's baby has been born I've been calling her baby snow . It really has just become her AKA , so of course we have to go to storyteller Café to celebrate her birthday. I was excited to know that the original restaurant is opened last time we got put in a banquet room and I was not happy about it ! I was excited to get the full experience ,such a beautiful restaurant ! Next to the booth, there's these beautiful light boxes of horses running .. The decor is beautiful. So much fun with all your favorite characters running around giving you hugs and blowing you kisses. Let's talk about the food. Lots of good stuff just not as much as goofy's kitchen. Goofy's kitchen definitely has more options, but the food still was amazing. We left out of their stuff ! Not too many times in life I want to go to a buffet, but I will do a Disney buffet. The Storytellers Cafe inside the Grand Californian Hotel is a great venue for a really decent meal when visiting Disneyland. It is no more costly per person than other "sit-down" restaurants in the area and the Buffet gives you a plethora of choices to select from...rather than ordering a fixed plate/meal elsewhere. If you're at Disneyland and choosing to dine at any one of the "sit-down" restaurants, you'll be "dropping" a lot of amount of money regardless ...here at the Storytellers Cafe Buffet, if I select something I don't especially care for...I simply try something else. If I make a mistake, at a "sit-down fixed meal/plate" venue...that's it, I'm stuck with whatever I ordered, whether I like it or not. Last visit was over 5 years ago...and to my surprise, I actually feel the quality of the offerings this visit were better! The restaurant is clean and has definite appeal in layout and decor. Our Server, Lisa, was very pleasant and attentive...which pleased us to no end. Thank-you Lisa! At a Buffet, I'm always more adventurous in my selections...and I must say, nothing offered was less than "good". Of course, there were my favorites and my smaller second "plating" only had those items on it. The Dessert selection was plentiful and I enjoyed selecting items that I normally wouldn't look at. Much to my surprise and satisfaction...everything was really very good. From the Rise and Shine Cocktail Menu, I selected a Grand Candied Orange Coffee...and it was FABULOUS! No one in my party was initially enthralled with my selection of this restaurant, but by the time we left, everyone agreed that this was undoubtedly one of the best meals available in the Disneyland/California Adventure Resort area. On this occasion, in this Yelper's opinion...the Storytellers Cafe made a great impression and truly earned this "highly recommend" 5 Star review. read more

Had a marvelous experience here with my tot. It was Mickey's Pajama party, you get to dine buffet style while characters come by to greet you- be sure to snag some photos! The options for food are plentiful and check every category. The characters are kind, playful and never made you feel rushed. The kitchen staff serving food were also so very kind and welcoming. Finally tried their breakfast character dining experience, with a kid in tow (free under 3yrs old), with solid food choices and omelette station and good scrambled eggs. However the characters stopping by (Pluto, Chip, Mickey, Minnie) were the real highlight. Staff knows how to treat kids well and make it a magical experience, and it was appreciated. Haven't been back here in 5 years and now I've been twice in three months! Yes it's expensive but it's Disney. Food choices are the same basically, but it decent to good. My husband enjoyed the good better at our 8am reservation than 11am - perhaps the food is fresher. The themed characters is what brought me back and Disney needs to keep with this seasonal costume changes for the characters. It seems not everyone stays for all the characters or don't have the time, it does take around 90mins for all the characters to get round to you, so don't rush this meal. I hope for spring they come out with new outfits for the characters. I had always had a reservation for the restaurant and never tried walk up. Reservations can be difficult to get as well. read more
This is my 3rd time here and each time I go I like it more and more. I went for another birthday celebration and had a great time enjoying the good and characters! At almost $60 per adult it is on the pricier side. However that's on par with other brunch buffets and you also get the Disney characters. So I think it's worth it. This works also be a cool way to enjoy some Disney fun without having to go into the parks. There are plenty of food options for most food restrictions. They also have food that would appeal to adults and kids. The highlights for me were the kale salad, chilaquiles, fresh sliced turkey, and of course the Mickey Waffles! I like that the characters just go around and visit the tables. They will hang for a bit if you want or just stop briefly depending on the vibe you give them. I say them standing around and talking with some kids. So I think I better take mine back soon. My husband who is not a Disney person enjoyed himself enough. If you have one of those in the group, seat them on the inside of the booth so the characters really don't "bother" them. They used to do a little parade around the dining room every 20 minutes of so but they no longer do that. Now they just stop by the tables frequently. Valet Parking is free for 3 hours with your Storytellers reservation. Then it's SEVENTY DOLLARS for one hour after that. So do not be late! read more
What an amazing place to go! I have been here many times, but the ambience never ceases to amaze me and fill me with awe. The servers top-notch, and the characters make you feel like you are another part of the family. The food was amazing, and desserts were the best part of it all. They would cook you to your liking, and just about everything is magical. My nieces, my wife, and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this place. Make sure you're able to afford it before you come as it's not cheap. read more

My friend was having a Disney birthday and we came to celebrate. We made our reservation well in advance for brunch. Food: They have the regular hotel breakfast items, meats, pastries, fruits, smoked salmon, and an omelette station. The omelette was really good even though there was a wait. They had mickey waffles, but it was burnt. Character dining: I think the characters make a round every 30mins then take a small break and come back again. - Chip & Dale: I adore them. They spent time at every table and definitely made the experience worthwhile. - Pluto was so cute and funny. - Minnie takes her time. - Mickey was disappointing. He ignored our table twice. The service was good and he sang happy birthday to the birthday girl. Overall, I don't think character dining is worth it if you got a full table of adults. The characters prioritizes the table with children and Mickey completely ignored our table twice. We ended up going to Mickey's house for Mickey at disney. The only stand out of the foods is the omelet. Get the omelet! read more

Great breakfast experience! Arriving at the resort we were able to park valet, 3 hours complimentary. We had 9am reservations for the Holiday Pajama Party, we arrived a little early but after check in we were able to visit the gift shop. Once our table was ready we received a text to return to the front counter. Walking in we were able to see all the characters, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Chip & Dale. As soon as we were seated we ordered our freshly squeezed OJ and coffee. The buffet had a great selection of brunch items to include tri-tip, bagels and lox, Mickey shaped waffles and many other breakfast options. Our kids had the opportunity to meet all the characters as they visited with every table and parade around the entire restaurant. The service was exceptional. I don't have any kids and I always thought this was more of a kids restaurant. However I was craving a variety of food, like a buffet style. Which is what this place has, and since I was staying at the Grand, I thought I'd try it out. This restaurant did not disappoint in any way. We had the best waitress. She was great in every way. We had a lovely conversation with her and she made us laugh. She also checked on us constantly and always had a smile on her face. I believe her name was Pao? We gave her a cast compliment too. The Ambiance was lovely and happy. When the Characters came out to interact with everyone, it was the best. We were surprised they even interacted with us and they made us smile and laugh so much. As an adult, I wasn't expecting to the love Character interactions so much. The chip and Dale characters were the best. They even had my grouchy husband smiling. The food was also so good. We enjoyed everything we ate and had absolutely no complaints about a single thing here. There were enough food choices to make us both happy. Everything looked and tasted fresh. I can honestly say that this is something we enjoyed so much and we will definitely be back again. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. read more

This was my 2nd time eating breakfast at Storytellers. I took my daughter for her 2nd birthday in 2022 and now my son in 2024. I didn't notice any changes between the 2 visits. Pros: Complimentary valet parking, just take cash to tip! Only waited a few minutes to be seated after checking in. The breakfast buffet options were the same both times. Eggs, bacon, hash browns, chilaquiles, Mickey waffles, yogurt bar, pastries, fruit, etc. (There is more, see website for full list). Our waitress was great! Made sure we had drinks and topped off our coffee. The characters walk around every 15 minutes! You'll hear music playing that gives you the clue to take a seat since they parade around. We were visited by all the characters! My kids loved meeting all the characters and they really spent some time with us. Morning felt rushed, which I loved! Cons: The price is high, but it's Disney so that's just what it is. I do feel that $34 for ages 3+ is a bit much. My 4 year old can't finish a whole breakfast plate. I do wish they would bring down the kids price. We also had to visit the host stand and ask for Mickey. All the characters had stopped to visit our table several times, but Mickey never visited our area. So my husband asked and they made sure to check in with us and had Mickey come visit our whole section pretty quickly. So don't hesitate to ask if you want to see a character! We were celebrating my son's birthday which they knew! He had his pin on, but I had to ask the waitress after paying and tipping for a treat.For my daughter's birthday they automatically did this and had several waiters sing, so I would encourage you to ask/remind if you are wanting to be celebrated. Overall, I would dine again. You are definitely paying for the up close encounters with the characters. The food is pretty basic, nothing extra Disney special except the Mickey waffles. So I see it as you are paying to not stand in long hot lines at Disneyland to meet characters lol. read more
Nice family buffet dinner this evening. We had a reservation for our family of 5 at 4:35pm. They said we would receive a text when our table was ready and about 20 min go by and no text. Then my husband checks with the staff and they say they can seat us right away. Not sure what was happening with their system but there were more families waiting around that had been there longer than us. And others were commenting about not receiving the text. The dinner choices were an array of meats, pastas, salads, fruits, desserts and vegetables. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavor. We were there for a special evening with our kiddos and everyone enjoyed their meal very much. read more
We came by for dinner after spending the day at California Adventure. To our surprise it wasn't crowded at all. The service was good and we were checked on often. This buffet has a variety of things to choose from. They have a carving station that had prime rib available, I also saw Turkey. There was pork belly, pot roast and even salmon. The list goes on and on chicken tenders & fries, salads, fruit and a bunch of different desserts. It's a cute restaurant inside and I heard the characters come to visit in the morning brunch. First off we we're staying in the hotel and since my youngest had never done a character meal, we thought it would be fun. They get 4/5 stars when it comes to the characters! Minnie, dale, chip and Mickey were really awesome and made everyone's day ! We were just bummed we kept missing Pluto Price 3/5 , it was pretty high at $49 for 10 and older and $29 for 3-9 years old . Friend invited us for a dinner at Storytellers Cafe which located inside of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It's nice to come here and have a All You Can Eat Buffet. According to my friend, the buffet is $59.99 per adult (Dinner). The food at the buffet was great! I tried couple items like prime rib, pork and salmon fish, not bad at all. The dessert were so yummy! The restaurant's service was great! They all very friendly. We really enjoy our dining over there. The only problem is the valet parking in the resort, when we tried to pick up our car after the dinner, they said they couldn't find our car, it really scared us. But after they checked again and let us waited for like 30mins, they finally found our car. Acording to one of their staff, he said someone parked our car in the wrong place, then didn't say much how... It really scared us. I guess next time we have to remember who helps us to park the car since they all wear the same uniform. read more
These character meals at Disney are expensive! Nothing is worse than paying a ton of $ for also crappy food. However, we did storytellers for breakfast and this was one of our favorite better quality meals. We also did goofys kitchen which was fun but the food was not near the quality of here. This place has a great brunch with a made to order omelette station, bacon, quiche, any kind of fruit you can imagine, Belgian waffles, Mickey shaped waffles, croissants muffins etc. You also get any kind of juice milk or tea included in your buffet price with free refills. Mickey Minnie chip and dale all come through the place with a staged dance then randomly spread throughout mingling among tables. We saw every character and were there for a little over an hour except for Minnie! Our waitress pao was very kind attentive and friendly she took photos of us and any need we had was addressed within seconds. I loved this place and would come again hands down! read more
Storytellers Café located inside of the Grand Californian hotel is such a wonderful treat. I've had the opportunity to go for a character breakfast, regular lunch and the dinner buffet. You can make a reservation online through the Disneyland App. They do validate if you have a reservation and can park at the hotel. It's only for three hours. Finding the restaurant is very easy once entering the hotel, you walk straight through the grand hall and out the exit doors near the Acorns sundry shop. It is located in front of the hotel pool. I don't believe I've ever seen the hotel renovate this restaurant since it's opening. I would say it is classic. I don't know how you could really improve it other than changing the carpet and maybe the tables. The buffet options for the fun character breakfast have always been plentiful and there was something for everybody. I really liked the character interaction when I came for my aunt's birthday. She had never been and was showered with attention from all the characters and given a birthday button. Mickey, Chip and Dale were so sweet . There were other characters, but those ones stood out and interacted the most with my aunt. Lunch is ordered off of a menu, as well as cocktails. Dinner buffet was excellent for Lunar new year. It didn't hurt the pocketbook either. The only thing I did not like is that when I dined for the dinner buffet, I was seated right underneath an air conditioning vent and I did not enjoy that at all, and you would think that they would move us to another table, but it was not feasible for one reason or the other. I wasn't given an explanation of why I couldn't move to another table. I found that very odd. In fact, they knew I was shivering cold , as well as the other three at the table. We were offered and given hot chocolates to go at the end. I enjoy the different variety of food for the dinner buffet. I wanted to inquire if the chicken tortilla soup offered that day was bullion based or cream based and chef came out to answer the questions and was so kind and not bothered at all about that. I love that there is an open kitchen to view things being made. I stood there for a few minutes watching, and nobody minded at all. I think my favorite dessert had to be the bread pudding, but that's only because of nostalgic reasons. One of the desserts was a huge letdown, and that was a basic chocolate chip cookie. It was practically inedible. I couldn't even bite through it. This was definitely a cookie that needed to be dunked in milk. There was options for the little ones too, which was chicken strips and french fries. They have pizza too. They make flatbread pizza in their wood pizza ovens. I was joking with one of the servers at a station that I wish I could take a whole flatbread pizza on my plate and he said I was more than welcome to do so ...wow, my eyes were wide in shock but that was very cool. Entering the hotel and the time spent at the restaurant definitely makes you feel the Disney magic a little bit, without actually going into the park. We went in September for dinner and it was Clarabelle themed. They offer you a pin with the dinner theme at the entrance. Food is buffet style. The food spread by itself could be better for the price point. However, the salads were surprisingly the best out of all of the items. Turkey was extremely soft too. Desserts could also be better but that's just my opinion since I love desserts. Service was great though. We ordered the hot tea included in the buffet and our server kept refilling the hot water without having to ask, which was nice. Highlight of the dinner is the experience of the characters coming to your table and interacting with you while you're eating. You can take pictures with them and feel like a kid again (if you're an adult haha)! They also do mini dances intermittently. All in all it was a fun experience but I wasn't the biggest fan of the food spread. read more

Well the hotel itself has 3 hour free valet parking, but if you feel like you need more than that then you can always park at downtown Disney.

No. I just ate here and I live in the area and definitely didn't stay in the hotel. You just have to make reservations pretty far in advance.

Yes. I was able to use Apple Pay, but I had to walk up to the register. Our server didn't have a mobile scanner to process at our table.

yes, but don't waste your time. No characters, food was mediocre. Don't see any reason to take kids. Save your money.

Yes, I was there for brunch on a Wednesday. The characters came out about every 20 minutes or so.

Yes! The chefs are great there, so ask for one to visit your table when you check in, tell them your food allergies and they will personally make food for you!
I do not have a theme park ticket, can I go to the Storytellers Cafe, and if so can I use my Disney Redemption Card there? It was accepted in the past.
Yes you can go, I don't know about the Card, probably, this restaurant is not in the park so anyone can eat there.

Yes, the buffet is definitely worthwhile, just not with the $66 Simba parking lot fee. I didn't realize I was supposed to park at the hotel. **Locals: be sure to know where the hotel validates parking, otherwise dinner might cost $200 for 2.

We had to keep refreshing on the Disney app to get a reservation. Otherwise, you can try calling the Disney CA hotel and see if they will transfer you.
