Horrible service. The waitress even said "I'm a really sh*tty waitress" and we all kind of put our heads down in silence. Awk-ward! She served the salads, then came back with the appetizers and meals about 2 minutes later. No sense of timing. She couldn't even keep track of her ordering pad. She looked like she was on crack. I was seated and placed my order. I ordered scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and white toast. Amanda, my waitress, was nice and attentive. My food arrived and I ate some of the eggs and they were mushy and not cooked all the way through. Also there was such a huge glob of butter on my toast that would not melt. So I explained to her that the eggs weren't done all the way, placed them on a different plate and handed them to her. She takes it back to the kitchen and brings me out the same scrambled eggs that I touched. You actually put those back onto the griddle! Really?!! Went for lunch. It seemed like there was no one around. I ordered something called the pittyburger on sour dough bread. Since I'm a huge hamburger fan, I only get them from non-fast food places. The hamburger was amazing. It was a Frankenstein creation, with coleslaw and friench fries in the burger. The bread I thought was going to be a mess but it was toasted perfectly and held everything together. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. I will be coming back more often to the Stratford Diner. read more

As far as diners go in the South Jersey are the the Stratford Diner is absolutely AWESOME. I eat there at least once a week. I have never ever had to complain about the food, or send it back. During COVID I have ordered delivery twice from Stratford diner with no issues. Today I called to place the same order that I always do and when asked my address they responded "we don't really deliver to Voorhees, hold on". Remember I've ordered from here twice already with no issues. My location is 6 minutes from their store via google maps. They picked back up sounding nasty and said we don't usually but it's fine we'll do it this time. Okay. You've delivered to me twice before already so I don't get the issue but fine whatever. So they ask what I want and I place my order. Now the response is "it's not more than $20 dollars so we don't deliver". It says nothing of this on their website and I've never heard of this in the last two times I've ordered. I was ordering a hungry man special and an American cheese omelette for two people which totals to just under $19 dollars. I told them this seems like too much trouble for you guys so never mind just cancel the order. They happily hung up without response. Absolutely nasty and clearly not wanting my business when I've placed the same order twice previously with no problems. Their website makes it seem like free delivery is so great but the person who answers the phone is nothing but nasty. I understand them not wanting to deliver to cherry hill or something, but I'm 6 minutes away. Very typical NJ diner. The place to go in the middle of the night after the bar. In fact, I don't think I have ever been to the Stratford Diner when the sun was up. There is nothing fantastic about Stratford, but everything is exactly what I would expect. Decent breakast foods, pretty good (fried) scrapple, a gyro that is beater than a lot of local diners, not bad lemon meurange pie. The wait service is interesting late at night and can be entertaining, can also be gruff. There are not too many diners in the immediate area that I would prefer. I tried takeout from the Stratford diner for the first time today. Ordering and pick up was easy. I got two breakfast sandwiches for my husband and I. The sandwiches were great with lots of bacon and egg. They also came with breakfast potatoes which I wish were a bit more crispy but it was nice that the sandwiches came with a side. What a shame. This diner used to be pretty good when i lived near it. In fact, it was the only diner i went to for about 3 years. Then something happened. I'm not sure if management changed or they hired cooks for lower wages but the food is horrible now. I went there a few weeks ago and ordered a simple breakfast of Eggs (scrambled) bacon, hashbrowns and rye toast. My order came out in 3 minutes which already had me a little worried. Seemed like the cook rushed my food so he could come back out and sit at the counter to read the paper. The coffee tasted like they hadn't changed it for hours and it was from the bottom of the pot. Second, my eggs were so runny i couldn't even pick them up with my fork without them slipping off and back onto the plate. The bacon was floppy and fat and the hashbrown were still green in some spots. The only reason I'm even giving this 2 stars is because the wait staff is mostly polite there. The prices are good especially for breakfast and even though the atmosphere may be average, it is a south jersey diner and that's what many people, including myself, find comforting about these places. Something nostalgic about it :) The staff is always friendly and if I ever had an issue with anything they were quick to rectify the problem. Had a late dinner there with my boyfriend this past Friday night! He had the Prime Rib and I had the Pork Chops. Both our meals were delicious. We would definitely go back there. After 15 minutes went by we walked up to a server and asked if anyone was going to wait on us. Then waved over the girl who was suppose to be serving us, and made her take the rest of our order when we were half way through ordering. Been going here regularly for 9 years. Not going back again. Good food, reasonable prices. Since new owner had taken over, quality of service has gone down. Kitchen more likely to be taking longer than normal. Today they took over 10 minutes to bring out soup. The big pot was already finished, so they just needed to ladel it into the bowl. Rest of food took another 30 plus minutes to arrive. Should never take 40 minutes for chicken fingers, blt, scrambled eggs, and sausage to arrive. When I tried to talk to owner, he wouldn't let me finish a sentence. Tried to explain we've been coming for years and understand that it gets slower when they are busy, but this was exceptionally long. My intention was to calmly let him know that there is an issue so he can look into it and fix the problem. Instead, he kept interrupting me. He also got closer until he was in my personal space and was raising his finger at me. I started getting frusteated, but never yelled, cursed, or anything like that. At one point, he told me it is his establishment and he won't have me talking to him this way. If I had the cash for the meal, i would of left it on the table and walked out. Most restaurants, when they hear there is a problem, start by apologizing, and try to fix things. Instead he wanted to tell me that i should expect to wait. There is never a wait and they have a full normal diner menu. The French fries are amazing! When strawberries are in season I recommend the strawberries and whipped cream on the appetizer menu. This is a regular place for me and my friends and family. I regularly get poor waitress service but they have a few amazing ones. No butter for my baked potato. When I look for her she's by the kitchen laughing it up with the other waitresses. After the manager caught the roach and killed it, we asked the waitress for our check, She handed it to us as she said 'sorry about that. It wasn't my fault'. No one said it was. We went to the front to pay the manager who said he just got off the phone with the exterminator and expressed how weird it was that there were still roaches when he has them come every week. Roasted Turkey platter was as dry as an August day in Arizona. Portions were grand, but after two forkfuls of terrible turkey, I tossed out the rest. The Cream of Turkey soup seemed like the same as Turkey Gravy? eew what? The Salad was ok. Stuffing was dry, almost brick like. Worse diner ever after Cherry Hill diner. I asked for extra crispy bacon and got extra fatty and soggy bacon which was totally microwaved by the way. If I could give less than one star I would. My dad and I enjoy meals together every week or so, it's something we look forward to. We've eaten here in the past and the service was never anything to complain about. I don't know what happened, if they got new owners or management or what, but my dad and I came in, already bad energy from the host/manager. He seemed to have no knowledge of customer service. I stopped by late at night after work (1 a.m.) on a Thursday morning. I went here since it is one of the few diners that is still open 24 hours (Pine Hill Diner and Starview Diner are not) or even opened at all (Country Club Diner on Haddonfield-Berlin Road is closed). I was seated right away. I was a little disappointed that it took like 10 minutes for my order to be taken, but I will cut them some slack since there was a larger crowd in a part of the dining room that I didn't see until I was leaving. I tried the special of chicken and bow tie soup. I am a sucker for a good chicken and noodle soup. I had never had it with bow tie pasta. While it was good, it doesn't work with bow tie pasta. It is too big, and soup was dripping off the pasta on my spoon onto my chin. I grabbed the cheesesteak hoagie which was good. I don't like the starchy fries (a la Burger King) that it came with. I prefer just regular fries. All and all, I will go back again and try other dishes. read more

We go to this diner quite often. the salad- i would shy away from, i tend to get stomach issues afterwards. I like their wraps, and fries, and breakfast is always good.
