I recently discovered the place. I like their pizza, not so greasy, good texture, nice flavor, sauce is good (fine for kids) and the place looks good. The store is very accommodating and you tell they value their customers. I like the coupons and marketing efforts. I remember when I found coupons at my local video store and was impressed with their efforts to market their products at a chain video store. Well below average. The crust was like... bread. It was soft and plain with no taste. The toppings ( I ordered the mexi-cali) were unseasoned and tasted incredibly bland. This particular pizza comes with chorizo and ground beef. Hard to get chorizo wrong. With an abundance of pizza joints there is absolutely no reason to order some here. The venue is live though featuring games with lights and loud noises and prizes for the youngsters. I didn't hang out, which might be a big enough draw for you and your kids but for me- in the end, it's a pizza franchise that was weak years back when I gave up on them and is still weak today after giving them another shot at my business. read more

My wife and I had a card from the "Entertainment" book for $5.00 off a purchase. We ordered a pizza and drinks. After we got home, I looked at the receipt, and saw that only $3.21 (the cost of the drinks) had been taken off, not the $5.00. So, check your receipt before you leave the counter. As for the pizza, it was good. This was our first time at this Straw Hat, and we will probably go back. I love Straw Hat Pizza. This is NOT a bad review towards the restaurant in any means. This is a "JUST BEWARE OF YOUR BILL". I was ordering through door dash ( and it may have been an error on their part), I ordered 3 pizzas, built one , extra costs of course., then I went to order 2 house specials, a medium meat-E-or which is suppose to be $17.99 but I happened to look at the total before putting it in the basket and it was $24.50. Took it out, did it again. So I went to the website and ordered straight from them. So I would have been charged an additional $7.25 per specialty pizza cause I ordered 2. So I'm just saying pay attention to your costs before you put them in the basket. I saved $14.50 that would have been overcharged if wasn't watching. FYI , this is not a bad revue toward door dash either, I've used them many times and am hoping this was an isolated incident. I will be paying closer attention. read more

My husband decided to hold a potluck since him and his team had to work during Labor Day. Given that we only had 4 days to look for a place that can cater for 150 people with such short notice especially since it was a holiday, first place that came to mind is StrawHat. I messaged Sonia and she quickly responded back to me. She put my mind at ease and told me that she will take care of everything and gave me an option for delivery. I opted out and told her that I will pick up. Food was hot and freshly made when I picked up. 30 king size variety pizzas, 200 orders of wings, 30 orders of garlic bread and large tray of salad along with variety of dressings and sauces, I was worried that it wouldn't fit in my suv. Her husband and their staff did an amazing job and was very careful, organized and was able to load everything neatly. Everyone enjoyed it and couldn't stop raving about how much they loved the food. This place sucks!!!!! The pizza tastes like $#!T. Normally we go to mountain mikes their gluten free is awesome. Naw not here the gluten free tasted like cardboard and the normal pepperoni pizza too. I had to ask and remind the girls at register to fill the mushrooms and cucumbers. She said they have to go to store to get mushrooms? Okay then at the salad bar there was a big-o band aid on the floor. Gross. We get our pizza it wasn't cut I had to go to girls again and said why is this not cut right so she gave me a plastic butter knife to do it myself. Then I asked for cheese n pepper shakers she said go look myself on other tables. The T.V.s looked good but that's about it. The game room didn't accept change for a $20 or $10 bill. This is without a doubt my favorite pizza place.. From someone who has tried all of the pizza places in the tricity area, there are so many reasons to pick Straw Hat. The food is delicious. Everything on the menu is good, fresh, flavorful, and filling. The service is great, and the manager is such a humble, friendly guy, he treats you like he would treat his friends. If those two reasons aren't enough, the restaurant has an obscene/awesome number of flat screen HD TV's covering most of the real estate on every wall. It's perfect for watching the sports of the season, having parties, meeting with friends, and keeping your mind off your hungry stomach. There's also fun arcade games and movie posters everywhere. They are also in the process of building a bar that will have several more beers on tap. Who wouldn't be excited about that? I ordered the chicken bacon ranch and one meat-e-or pizza the other day for delivery. It was a Sunday and I understand they are busy. I'm from hayward and there isn't a lot of delivery places near by. I do like straw hat but usually divert due to how expensive the pizzas are compared to other pizza restaurants. I love delivery it's one of the best relaxing things I can do on a lazy Sunday after busting my ass all week at work. First off, I called and after about 2 min and 30 seconds of the phone just ringing nobody answered. Very possible they were already taking another order but I mean put me on hold or something! I hung up and called again later. This time they picked up and placed me on hold for about 3 min. It was understandable I knew it must have been busy. Anyways I places my order for the two pizzas the gentleman in the phone was polite. They quoted 50 mins and the pizza showed up about 1hr and 30 min later. I get it, it's fine they were busy. But my pizza was not that hot. The cheese was already hardening and not that warm. I microwaved my pizza to start enjoying it, which again is fine. I really liked the chicken bacon ranch absolutely delicious. But this is what did me in, The Meat-E-Or pizza sucked. I love my all meat pizzas. I actually used to be a pizza line cook at round table and straw hat believe it or not, but that meat e or pizza had little to no meat. It was embarrassing. The meat e or pizza was closer to a CHEESE pizza. One slice had MAYBE one pepperoni. Not enough liguicia, not enough sausage, not enough meat. Actually threw 90% of the meat pizza away. I spent close to $50 total for a medium special and a large meat e or and was not worth it. For half the price I could of gotten a hot pizza and more meat at pizza guys. Sadly not ordering there again. Thank you but your pizzas should be hotter and more meat on your meat pizzas. Whats funny is that this straw hat was literally 5 min away from my house and the pizza was cold. Other pizza restaurants I ordered from come from across town and it's still pipen hot! read more

The Pizza is very tasty in my opinion its not dry and has very good flavor, and the games are quite fun and the environment is clean, its a great hangout place as well because of the room and the things to do. This was my first time eating at a Straw Hat pizza outside of the one in South Lake Tahoe (which is amazing). I'm sad to say that the pizza is very average and not worth the high price point. I've been to several Straw Hat Pizza locations. This one is my favorite. The taste is consistently good. I normally order the small combo pizza. It's my go-to pizza, when I'm hungry or am comparing pizza places. It's not overly greasy and the toppings (very important to me: cheesy) taste fresh. The crust is different than other pizza places. It's thin and more like crackers, not the bread style crust. I like both types, actually. If you like watching sports or shows, then you're going to love their 80" TV and their other TVs (I think there are over 10 large screen TVs there). Occasionally, there are parties going on, so expect some loud, happy kids playing at the mini arcade. I see Mt Mike's, Round Table and Straw Hat in the same group. I'm giving them 5 stars because when compared to other pizza places in their class: Taste is very good. Price is comparable. Location is clean. Service is great. I came here with my brother to watch the UFC fight and the Warriors game. It was my first time here and I was a bit weary of going to a straw hat pizza. Wow! Tonight the place was packed and it felt like a sports bar! They had drink specials $10 pitchers and no cover charge. The service was excellent. The manager/owner? was very friendly and quick. Very attentive. Although the place was very busy, my brother and I were seated immediately. We ordered 2 pitchers of beer and 1 pizza.
