Stopped here for lunch with a friend after reading reviews. We walked in and were sat promptly. The server came over quickly and took our drink order. The menu was large so I had trouble deciding on what to order. I had a skillet with corned beef in it. It was very good and it came with your choice of toast or pancakes. The restaurant does have outdoor seating, but it was on the side of the building that faces the railroad tracks. It was loud in the inside of the restaurant. It was hard to carry on a conversation. This is our new favorite breakfast spot in town. The menu is huge with lots of options that you don't usually find (like avocado toast or veggie hash). The water carafe is served with a slice of pineapple which is a nice touch. It can get busy and loud inside but that's to be expected on a Saturday or Sunday morning. My omelette was good but it said it contained bacon but it tasted more like ham, which was a disappointment. Otherwise a very good space, with that contemporary industrial farmhouse look. & very good coffee. We had to wait a while which I'm not a fan of. We went for the first time to Stray Hen for Breakfast. Loved it. The staff was very welcoming. We had the Mexican omelet and eggs Benedict. Met one of the owners, George, who stopped by our table and asked if everything was ok. Will definitely go back again. read more

Meals I've had have been decent. Ample amount of food, prices seem fair in the world of breakfast.

When I arrived, I had noticed that there are domes out side where customers can sit and enjoy their meal. There were heaters inside the domes which made it feel super cozy. The owner made sure that each customer was comfortable with their temperatures. With it being the first day with the domes, I must say it was a success! read more

Our Breakfast club went to the Stray Hen recently. The food (corned beef skillet and whole grain pancakes) was excellent and cooked to perfection. Our server Bella was fun and efficient, we couldn't have asked for anything more. A bottle of water with a large hunk of pineapple in it was brought to the table. Kudos for using actual silverware! Now for the cons. We had to wait a long time because they had to make a fresh batch of batter. Why wouldn't the batter be ready for a Saturday morning? I was very interested in the quiche, but they didn't have them that weekend. Why not? Plan B was to order an omelette, but they were limited and there was no section in the menu where you could augment the listed ones or build your own. The modern industrial style of the restaurant is LOUD as someone else mentioned. It's hard to hold a normal conversation especially if there are loud kids around. The chairs were extremely hard and some of the worst I've ever sat in. The posts dug into my back and hips and I'm fairly thin by American standards. The most important part is the food and service and both of those were excellent, so I would still recommend it. read more

The food here is unique and tastes great! Wasn't happy with the service. Waited 10 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. Asked for half and half for my coffee, and was given milk. Never once was my cup refilled. Final straw is when I paid the bill, server took my credit card and forgot to return. After another 15 minutes of waiting, had to ask where it was. read more

I have been going to Stray Hen since it opened. I can't say enough great things about this place. Their breakfast choices are amazing! From their Apple Churros French toast to their specialty pancakes. The great thing is that they also have healthy options. So if you want to indulge you can but if you feel like eating a healthy meal they have great choices. The owners really care and it shows. I love this place. read more

It makes me sad to give a bad review for this place because I really want this place to succeed. They just need more staff and maybe more experienced staff. We had a table of 4 and everyone got their meal at a respectable time expect for me. Mine didn't show up until the others were just about finished with theirs. I asked for mine to go. My mother asked for the cheese to be substituted in her meal but they didn't do that. She left her omelet on the plate. To their defense they didn't charge for her omelet or our drinks. So that's good for business. I do plan to give them another chance. Hope they get their act together. Bad day for breakfast at the Stray Hen. read more

Cute little breakfast spot and servers are very pleasant. Sadly, the food was tasteless. The garden skillet was touted as having seasoned potatoes with tons of flavor. I had to add salt several times to get any flavor at all. My daughter ordered the egg pancake bacon combo. The scrambled eggs had no seasoning and our toast came out burnt. Now the food...EXCEPTIONAL, UNIQUE, DELICIOUS AND FRESH! This isn't the typical breakfast place with the same old menu. Got a sweet tooth, the Apple Churro French Toast will cure it with it's thick cut toast drizzled with cinnamon and carmelized apples. Also tried the BLT&E (BLT with scrambled eggs) So fresh and layers of flavor, so filling. The kids enjoyed the fresh fruit and Mickey Mouse pancakes too! Had the filet mignon Benedict. Eggs poached perfectly, nice runny yolks and fully cooked whites. Steak was tender but lacked flavor, seemed like there wasn't even salt and pepper on the filets. I asked for medium rare, one filet was medium, the other one was medium well. Fresh fruit was good, all of it was ripe. It was busy, but not packed. Food came quickly so that's a plus. I'd try it again and get something different if i was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to go back there.
