Sliced beef hearts were mildly spiced and soft - perfectly grilled. Corn, potato and onion salad provided good "backdrop" for the fine skewers. Mild and sweet sauce can be used for fries dipping. I went to visit my cousins who live down in this area and they recommend this place to go and eat as her 3 year old who is rather picky when it comes to food likes this place. I can see why he does. When looking from the outside its not much to look at and the inside is a bit on the divey side but don't let that stop you. The food here is on point, we got there around 5pm on a Saturday and it was already pretty filled with people eating and people getting to-go orders. They have Peruvian specialities on the menu including lomo saltado, and anticucho (which I have a hard time finding). Also they have pollo ala braza which I didn't try although my cousin the one with the young kids ordered that for her and the kiddos and it did look good. The lomo was good and you could tell it was made fresh. The anticucho was delish cooked perfectly and well seasoned, granted anticucho will always have a special place in my heart since my mom introduced it to me when I was 12. Also we ordered the filled potato (English translation), which was really good too, filled with lots of meat inside the potato. I knock off one star because getting in/out depending on which way you're going down route one can be a bit of a challenge, thankfully I wasn't driving, since I don't know my way around that area too well. Picked up lunch here and the food was very delicious! Ordered the chicken combo which included the 1/4 chicken, 1/2 steak and one side. Also ordered the fried rice along with fried plantains. First visit...not impressed with the fried rice. I ordered at the counter and had to wait nearly 20 mins for only rice. Hunny, the chicken and egg were playing hide and seek. I had to continuously comb through the rice looking for meat! For nearly $12 I would expect there to be a decent amount of protein, so that was disappointing. 1/4 rotisserie here and ever time its cooked perfectly and the flavors are bold and delicious. The rice and beans also add great flavor. The dipping sauces seal the deal and add the pop. The iceberg salad isn't really necessary as its iceberg lettuce with zero taste. Even so, it's 5 star for me. But for Peruvian chicken, this place is tops. After reading all the great reviews and recommendations from friends I finally made it in to eat. I was really surprised when I walked inside the restaurant. The inside appearance looks a lot better than the outside. They had a pretty cool TV menu that was scrolling with food options and a nice area to sit and eat. And they have a huge oven with whole chickens grilling. Soccer game was playing on the tv. Kinda weird they serve all their food on lapsed plates. But I guess that saves them from having to wash dishes. Lol. Minus one star because they didn't have fountain drinks, they only had bottled and canned drinks. You have to watch your receipt, they over charge you and put items on your receipt if you are not careful. I had been going here for years, but now a coworker and myself have both been over charged on our bills at separate visits...and unknowingly, I had been over charged I gave her a cash tip of $10 and it was carryout. Tried this place because it's within walking distance to our new house and was not disappointed. We got the family deal (there were 3 of us) and enjoyed it thoroughly. They push out the freshest meats. Juicy. Flavorful. Delicious. I have ordered the Tri-Tip multiple times. The flavor just explodes as you bite into it. You get a fair portion. When i went in the fairer-skinned gentleman taking orders rubbed me entirely the wrong way.... my meal and my husbands was like $23.85 and i signed off on $25 on my card. The green beans had no flavor. The yuca was good. My husband says the beans and rice were good though i didn't try that. The prices are definitely way higher than other places and for far less flavor. El pollo Rico in Arlington though far will be visited again long before I come back here! I can't say this is my favorite Peruvian chicken place in the DC/DMV area, for a few reasons: 1) The $$$ When I first saw that a 1/4 Chicken is $7.25 I was honestly a bit shocked. The Peruvian chicken place in Arlington charges less than this (around $6-7?) for 1/4 chicken and for chicken this far out in Fort Belvoir I can't see why Arlington places would be less... 2) The Yucca is dry I'm a huge fan of yucca and have had it at 4+ different Peruvian chicken places/chains and this one had the driest yucca I've had yet. I also usually like to dip my yucca in the sauces and disappointed they charge extra for the sauces ($0.25 more per container to be exact...yikes!). Also this is minor but you get 2 sauces per order versus the 3 that usually you find at other establishments. (Again minor detail) I will say though their chicken is more well seasoned and flavorful than some other places I've been to, you can taste the charcoal flavors seeping through the chicken. I get why this place is popular because I agree their chicken is very good but for the price something feels a little bit off, feels like I'm being slightly overcharged for what I'm getting in this area. So buyer beware, if you're looking for super cheap options, this place is pretty good but a little pricier than I'd like. read more

Easily the best chicken I've ever had. I was already in the parking lot when I decided check Yelp, 4.5 stars with 178 reviews... I guess I'm not the only one. Chicken was amazing. This was the first time in a long time that I've been blown away by the flavor of chicken. It's seasoned and grilled perfectly, super juicy, and the sauces they give you are fantastic. Do yourself a favor and dunk your chicken in the creamy white sauce and the green sauce at the same time! They are both delicious. The green sauce is pretty hot, which I love. Cole slaw was great too. I got the green beans to try to avoid carbs. They are as good as any fancy restaurant green beans, which is supposing. If I wasn't trying to lose a little weight I would've been roping up their yuca, I'm sure that's good. I'm going back soon for their ceviche, looking forward to it.
