Pepper Steak sandwich-same great taste as I remember from the 1970's!
    Shiro V.

I haven't had the Pepper Steak sandwich from the Submariner since growing up in the 1970's in this neighborhood and walked to this restaurant with my siblings. Same great taste! I highly recommend this restaurant-especially the Pepper Steak Friendly staff!

This has to be one of Westchester's hidden gem. The food here is amazing. After finding this on Yelp, I decided to try it. To my surprise, when I walked in, I was greeted by the owners. They're a mom and pop Korean couple, but it looks like they become accustomed to making great philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I ended up ordering the Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo, and it was delicious. The onion rings were crunchy, the bacon was crispy, the cheese melted and was nice and gooey. The fries were seasoned well. The burger was still hot, I can see steam coming out with every bite. Not only does this serve good food, they also sell lotto tickets and scratchers! Next time you're in Westchester ordering wonderful food, grab a lotto ticket for a change to hit the jackpot as well. I'm keeping this place in mind and will have to add it to my restaurants on rotation.

What they claim is on their Philly cheese steak.

I ordered a Philly cheese steak and it came with lettuce and tomato. What the hell is that crap? I ordered a PHILLY CHEESE STEAK not a chopped cheese, you don't even have a chopped cheese on your menus but that's what your serving. You swapped out the ground beef for steak put lettuce and tomato on it. Just because there's steak doesn't make it a PHILLY CHEESE STEAK. You don't even know what sandwich you're serving. There were no peppers, onions, mushrooms, like your menu says. Image attached. Who the heck wants warm lettuce in a sandwich. Imposter ass "Philly cheese steak" taste wise...it was slightly lower than mid. Try something else from this place I guess.

I visited again the other day. I was craving a cheese steak sandwich, but have been trying to eat healthier, so I got the half sandwich and fries combo, substituting the fries with salad. It was just enough to satisfy my cravings.

There were less than 250 reviews on Google and Yelp when I checked. Other places, I know that are decent have at least 2000-3000. We ordered the mushroom ravioli, the pistachio carbonara, the neopolitan pizza and the squash blossoms. And within 5 minutes, everything we ordered came to the table. So weird and also tasted like what you would expect, not good at all. The food was pretty bad for about $25 per item. The pizza came out cold with a soggy undercarriage. The ravioli was drenched in straight heavy cream. The squash blossoms were okay, but seemed small compared ones I've had elsewhere. The carbonara was pretty bland. I really have a hard time thinking these review were real or that people's standards are pretty low. In addition to this, our server barely came by until we were ready to pay and he hovered around the table to see what kind of tip he was getting. Also, they take reservations, but they don't seem to honor them or care. I tried to mention I had reservations and was cut off from taking and was rushed to find a table. Overall, a very memorable night for all the wrong reasons.

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. Our server also made the experience even better. She gave us some of the best recommendations and were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Mulberry is a Korean spot, but no tabletop grills. Across the street is another Korean place. Mulberry serves dinner Wed-Sun. The menu is kind of "greatest Korean hits", including a few charcoal grilled items. The drink menu is pretty extensive. It's a smallish space with both indoor and outdoor seating and a darkish, festive atmosphere. Here's what we ordered: 1) Korean aguachile--flounder in a cold kimchi broth that was partially granita-like. Refreshing. 2) Fried chicken wings. Pretty classic. Supposedly half plain and half soy-garlic, but they were pretty similar. A nice sweet chili sauce on the side, along with some pickled daikon and other veggies. I like a sweet glaze directly on my wings, but these had a good crunch. 3) Chilled acorn noodle. With greens, toasted nori and a jammy egg. Cooling, but the greens were a bit harsh for me. 4) Savory egg souffle. Nice but nothing out of the ordinary. 5) Spicy braised black cod. I was worried it would be too spicy but actually was very mild, possibly tomato-based sauce with nicely braised daikon and a side of slightly pickled napa cabbage. 6) Grilled beef short rib. Delish! More like a hangar steak than short rib. Came with a dipping sauce, coarse salt, lemon and a little salad with a pungent dressing. 7) Hotteok a la mode. A caramelized cinnamon "crepe" with toasted seeds and vanilla ice cream. Delish. They also had a strawberry bingsu (Korean dairy-based shaved ice) that sounded good, a collaboration with Korean Ice Co. down the street. Note Mulberry claims it's a no tipping establishment, but adds a 20% "fee" to your bill. Overall a nice meal, on the pricey side. I do think I prefer Japanese food more, but Mulberry is a good introduction to Korean.
