My family came late the first day we stopped in Kihei and they were all out of malasadas (online it says malasadas are served 6am-10am). Lesson learned. The place was pretty busy, but not too busy and the line moves fairly quick. We got here at 10 AM and there was a lot of masaladas left in all flavors. The passionfruit and vanilla one was our favorite and the Ube was also still really good. Having pretty good flavor. When you are in Hawaii, it's a custom to have a malasada or two or three! We were so pleased to be staying close to this great local bakeshop and we're in awe of the variety of goodies. Hubby had to get two chocolate and a vanilla and in the last minute I got a spinach quiche. The flavors in the quiche are amazing! My favorite bakery on the island!! Everything is a 10/10. We got the Malasadas in all flavors. They all tasted good and were made fresh. My favorite was with the lilikoi filling. I wish there was more filling in them though. But to be honest, I loved the other pastries more! We got a POG tart and mango cheesecake. I'm not usually a fan of cheesecake, but the mango cheesecake was by far one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. We also got the banana bread with streusel. This was also the best banana bread we had on Maui (and we did try the popular banana bread stands/other smaller stands). We ended up getting three loaves to take home. Lastly, we got a macadamia sticky bun and I really liked how it was a little crispy/caramelized on the outside and not too sweet. Top pastries we tried was the mango cheesecake and sticky bun. The shop is small, but cute and staff was really nice. We came back twice even though it was an hour long drive for us! Highly recommend trying the other items in the bakery besides the Malasadas. I still think about these malasadas! We hadn't gotten a chance to go until our very last day in Maui. We had to try it so we stopped by before heading into the airport. Thankfully there was no line so we were able to get in and out quickly. It was around 11:30 am and a lot of items were already sold out. Delicious banana bread, esp the one with crumble on top! One of the best that I had on Maui. Worth a stop esp if you are on the east side of the island around Wailea or around the Maui Ocean Center. Shave ice next door as well! Came early afternoon around 1pm and there wasn't too much of a line. It's hard to see what is available until you walk into their display at the front and it is a little store, so there are some customers who are trying to decide at the front but not ready to order/pay yet. Not sure if this could be more organized in the future given the limited space in the store. Lot parking available as well as local street parking if full. Delicious malasadas! Note that they stop selling malasadas after 10am. Online ordering is a hassle-free way to make sure you get the malasadas you want on your schedule. You place your online order then can pick up any time before 2pm. We placed an online order on a Friday and the earliest pickup date available was Monday. We showed up a little after 9:30 for our order pickup and there was still a good selection of cream malasadas for purchase but it looked like the hot malasadas may have been sold out. By the time we left at 9:45am, there was a line out the door and I'm not sure if there were enough malasadas for everyone in line. The hot malasadas were our favorite by far, with the Li Hing being the best. The cream malasadas were also tasty. Favorite was lilikoi. Ube did not have a very strong ube flavor. Still really a really great breakfast! Visited with my wife and family after an early morning. Line went pretty quick for a Friday morning. We grabbed the Kimchi and Portuguese Sausage quiche, Bacon Cheddar Chive Scone, a Macnut Sticky Bun, two iced Coco Joes, and a sticker. The quiche was a big fan favorite with everyone. Good amount of kimchi flavor and chunks of Portuguese sausage. The sticky bun was also really great, gooey and had lots of macadamia nuts. The scone was also solid. You gotta get there early to get fresh malasadas! They've got hot ones right out of the fryer as well as filled ones with ube, chocolate, lilikoi and coconut! So ono!! Make sure to get there before 10 am so they don't sell out! I'm so glad I found this little shop! There's bench seating outside but it's basically a counter service place to go. What can I say other than this friendly Bake shop has absolutely some of the best baked treats on the planet. We have had the opportunity to visit Maui often over the years and I have always been able to count on having tasty breakfast treats from here. Begin with tempting malasadas made fresh each day and often sold out before noon. My favorite is the coconut although they have other flavors as well. They are good sized but I always manage to eat at least two. I am a big scone fan and they make both sweet and savory scones. I love the Tropical sweet scone and I think it is a cheese and chive scone on the savory side. They are packed with flavor and have a crunchy texture which I really like. Another favorite is the Macadamia nut caramel roll, the roll is very croissant like with flaky roll and plenty of macadamia. The list of other goodies goes on and on including little cream pies, cookies, and breakfast rolls.
