I tried this new coffee spot after hearing about their amazing pastries, and I can see why it's so popular--they even had a line out the door! I ordered the horchata nitro cold brew, and let me tell you, if you have a high tolerance for caffeine, this drink is for you! It was flavorful and delicious, but definitely a little too strong for me. We also ordered a few pastries to go and shared a ham and cheese croissant. Every bite was amazing--the pastries had the perfect crispy, flaky exterior with a soft and buttery center. The ham and cheese croissant was just as delicious and made for a great savory option. The ambiance was chic and modern, making it a great spot to sit and enjoy your coffee or grab a few pastries on the go. I'd definitely come back, though next time I might opt for a less caffeinated drink!

5/5 Sugarwolf is absolutely worth the hype. There was a line out the door when we arrived, but it only took about 15 minutes to get through and place our order. We got there a little too late for breakfast, but the lunch menu more than made up for it. The pastrami sandwich was excellent, and the croissant and everything bagel pastry with cream cheese were both fantastic. The coffee was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it's easy to see why this spot has become so popular. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Austin.

3 pastries, 1 coffee, 1 matcha for $40 i found my all time favorite pastry: a pain suisse. crispy shell w custard and chocolate on the inside my god 10/10 i don't think anything will ever compare butter croissant, a bit stale, bc tough to rip. but still good crisp and chewy. shakshuka focaccia, spicy and savory tomato sauce. crispy bread and chewy inside another 10/10 messy to eat but gimme 5 minutes w her alone... black sesame matcha was watery. matcha tastes like culinary matcha not made for lattes. black sesame flavor non existent smoked raspberry latte. they actually gave me just the raspberry milk at first and kinda laughed in my face when i asked them where the espresso shot was. then apologized and put it in, but it was good; would've been better without the attitude but they were busy, we waited in line for ~15 min: long but moves fast they start making their famous cookies at 11 am btw cookie update: no line on tuesday 2 pm, walked in, paid $7 for espresso cookie. insanely crispy edges, soft center not chewy, good chocolate, served warm, but the espresso made the chocolate taste sour to me. great cookie, prob better without the espresso as an espresso lover

The influencers got me on this one. Pros: -line that might be long will move quickly -kept it pretty clean considering the amount of traffic that runs through there -no laptops!! -beautiful food -the bake on the savory items was good Cons: -smoked salmon was the saltiest salmon I've ever had and I love me a lox bagel so.... -there was egg (not listed on the menu) on the ham and cheese focaccia -dried out almond croissant -$15 for HALF a sandwich, that's nuts idc what u say Do with that what you will.

The space itself is beautiful - spacious, modern, and appealing. There was a line on a Friday morning, but wait was no longer than ten minutes. The options are all appealing and to choose one is the highest test of self-control. We ordered the Mixed Berry Danish, perfectly flaky with fresh berries and sugar-y cream. Many options will warrant many visits over the upcoming weeks!

Grand Opening: Today, May 5, 2026 Cinco de Mayo Sugarwolf is a new addition to downtown Austin (4th and Guadalupe). This great recommendation was made by a Yelp friend. Before she recommended Sugarwolf, I had not heard of this coffee and pastry shop. We decided to brave the crowd at 7 am. I arrived first and saved a place for my friend. Perfect timing as she arrived when it was our turn to go into Sugarwolf. First impression...modern, clean architectural lines with a modern flare. Floor to ceiling windows emit an abundance of light. The chandeliers are quite unique in that they look like Chinese lanterns yet appear to be made from a cheesecloth like material. The space is open and airy. One word...striking! The music playing in the background contributed to making this experience a whole vibe. Sugarwolf specializes in high quality pastries and coffee drinks. We both purchased cinnamon rolls (large, mutant cinnamon rolls...enough for three people). The bakery uses organic flour, butter, and a seed oil free kitchen. The flavor and texture was quite nice. My friend also got a croissant to go. She purchased a hot smoked raspberry latte with matcha and I purchased an iced smoked raspberry latte. Both were exceptionally prepared. Watching the bakers work with customer views of the kitchen was an appealing part of the culinary experience. Everyone in the shop was super friendly and helpful. Please note the coffee shop is on the pricier side, but well worth the investment. Metered street parking is available nearby. Love new coffee shops and bakeries...yes I'm back on coffee. I lasted one day without coffee...smile.

The best laminated pastries I've found in Austin. Counter service was super friendly and line moved at a pretty good pace. Space is very cool; no WiFi available which I appreciate so people aren't there for hours taking up booths and tables. Seating area and coffee bar is cute. Got a ham and cheese croissant, pain suisse, Cinnamon roll and an everything danish for pastries. Was impressed with all of them. I also got a breakfast sandwich and it was good. I showed up around 7:30am, waited in line for 20-30min and spent $50+ and it was all worth it, imo.

SUGAR WOLF!! Wow! You hit it out the park! The space is so beautiful, spacious and warm! Soft lighting and plenty of seating options! I was anticipating grand opening today and it did not disappoint. Their hours are from 7am-4p which perfect for early risers who don't like paying for parking. I got here around 7:12am there was a line. Thankfully it moved pretty quickly! The gentlemen taking my order was very kind and personable. He recommended the Pain Sussie. I went with the cinnamon roll and Pain Sussie! I also got a SMOKED RASPBERRY LATTE! Who's ever heard of such a drink?!? It even tasted magical. It had a nice balance of raspberry and the matcha was high grade. My pastries were fresh although it took a while to get the cinnamon roll it's their first day open so I'll give them grace. Very friendly staff and great customer service. Prices are expensive so keep that in mind. They also serve lunch and they have a coffee/cocktail bar open until 4pm.

I'm willing to give it another try but our experience was just meh. We went around 11am and they were sold out of everything except cookies and the salmon sandwich from the bakery end. There was still a line out the door. We got the sandwich and two drinks. The sandwich was too salty for me and the bread was so chewy it didn't taste fresh. It was overpriced for what it was. The black sesame matcha didn't have much matcha flavor and there was almost no sesame flavor. It mostly just tasted like milk. The raspberry latte was okay but not anything special. There is a lot of seating inside, which was nice.

My boyfriend and I were in the area and noticed a line outside the bakery, so we decided to wait in line too. Thankfully, it didn't take too long to get to the front. There is a limit of three pastries per guest. Since it was pretty busy, we ordered our pastries to go because we assumed there wouldn't be any seating available. Luckily, there was plenty of seating and we ended up eating there instead. For pastries, we ordered the pain au chocolat, butter croissant, cardamom bun, shakshouka focaccia, and French onion danish. The shakshouka focaccia was the standout and my personal favorite. For drinks, we got the smoked raspberry latte and the dirty latte. The dirty latte was good, but I preferred the smoked raspberry latte. The bakery was clean and organized, the staff was friendly, and the pastries and drinks felt creative and unique. I'm glad we stopped by to give them a try!

Tldr: get there before 10:30 am for pastries, amazing chocolate chip cookie, no vegetarian lunch options, sour service. Came in on a Saturday at 11:30 am and there was a line past the entrance to the parking garage. One of the staff members came out and let us know all pastries were sold out, so if you have your heart set on pastries go prior to 10:30 am at least! Austin though has so many great pastries spots nearby (Matok, Swedish Hill, Rockman), so don't be disappointed if you miss the pastries. They however did have plenty of chocolate chip cookies (I did not see any other flavor) available as well as a coffee crumb muffin when we got to the front of line by 12:20 pm. The chocolate chip cookie was amazing - brown butter like, chewy with crispy edges and chocolate in every bite. The salt on top helped balance out the cookie to not make it overly sweet. Where I was most disappointed though was the service and lack of just one vegetarian option for lunch menu and the check out staff looking bored and unwilling to help/check to see if any accommodations could be made especially after waiting in line as we did. The person I had in check out line was a fairly young Asian lady and she looked like she couldn't be bothered to help and when I asked questions all I got was bored disinterested one word answer. She definitely didn't show Texas hospitality. Even options I thought could possibly be vegetarian such as herbed orchiette pasta salad had meat (and mind you I said I was vegetarian before placing the order and just was about to check out when my husband asked if there was any other vegetarian option she said no and then told us "oh the pasta salad isn't vegetarian". Girl why did you have me place the order then?!). I even tried to ask if maybe could do like the salmon sandwich with salmon on the side so my husband could eat it and all I got was an eye roll and "oh we sold out of that" and no offer of any alternative. I understand not every place needs a vegetarian option, but come on I have been to steak houses and barbecue places with vegetarian options. And you are in Austin, place known for having many vegetarians and vegans as well as a bakery so to not just have one vegetarian sandwich was disappointing. Atmosphere wise the place is gorgeous and has plenty of tables. Don't worry about trying to get a table before ordering - most people turn over pretty quickly so you will be able to get a spot after ordering. Parking wise no validated free parking available, so only paid street parking or garage parking.

I was excited to see a seed oil free bakery opening in Central Austin. My little one has a soy allergy and unfortunately, far too many bakeries use margarine or soy-based oils to cook and bake. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people there on a random weekday, so if you're with a large group, I would plan ahead and prepare to wait. When we arrived to order several things (juices, some pastries) were out of stock for the day, so I would also plan on being there before lunch if you want to grab a cold pressed juice or some of their popular pastries. Overall, the space is large and you can tell they put a lot of thought into curating art and decor to make it feel comfortable. As for the pastries, I had a muffin and a cookie. They were good, but I choose to order the offer cake muffin over the cookie next time as the coffee cake muffin was large, filling and perfectly sweetened. Prices are a big on the higher end for a bakery, but it is a nicer bakery located downtown so I wasn't shocked and expected prices to be elevated. If they had more of a food variety or different juice options, I'd probably be more inclined to stop in more often, but overall, I'm happy that we have another seed oil free establishment so I'll continue to support.

Cool bakery in the middle of downtown Austin. A short line went outside the store at 12pm on a Friday but it moved pretty quickly. They don't make anymore pastries after 11am so I was only able to grab a couple chocolate chip cookies. If you like underbaked cookies then you'll love these. Not my type of cookie so I can't say I liked them very much. The dirty latte was what you expect from a milk and soda combo. The dirty chai latte tasted watered down but the staff were kind about getting it swapped with a hibiscus tea. If I could say one thing based on what I got it would be to skip the baked good and drinks and go straight to just ordering the lunch sandwiches. The pastrami and French drip were the stars of the lunch order. The bread was sooo good and they don't skimp out on the meat. I would've given this place 3 stars but the sandwiches are what bumped this place to 4.
