Everything was great. Our appetizers came out before our drinks and even the mains came out pretty fast. Everything was delicious and the service was great and fast. Not much has changed since my prior review of 6 years ago. This time I'll focus on particular dishes that I like. For appetizers, their famous Meatball (singular, since it is huge) is numero uno, and occasionally they'll offer it with spaghetti as an entree. Note that it is made of sausage and not beef, which may affect your decision. The Arancini and Roasted Potatoes are also good. Sometimes I'll order one of their two Flatbreads as a meal if I'm not particularly hungry. My favorite main course is Aunt Lena's Chicken, though the Hanger Steak is a close second (I love the "gigande" beans!). The Shrimp Scampi and Braciole get an occasional order too, and if I dare battle the traffic on Tuesday, they usually have a weekly pasta special. If I get dessert it's usually the Cannoli or the Bombas. This usually occurs when they have an occasional 3-course prix fixe special; they also often have special menus on holidays, which might be the only time they open on a Sunday. (But if they do, they'll be closed the Monday after.) They sometimes also bring out a dynamite Lasagna (also made with sausage) that is not on the regular menu. Making a reservation is basically a must, and if you're there at a busy time, the parking lot might be full and you'll have to park in the lot around the corner. Service has always been good and Mr. C regularly makes the rounds to check up on his customers. I frankly wish they'd open on Sundays so I'd have a choice of traffic-free days to make the long trip, but if I have to stick to Saturdays (or grit my teeth during the week), I'll keep coming! read more

Sugo has become my new favorite restaurant, and I wish I would have found this place sooner! My first visit was a few weeks ago and we chose in dining with a reservation. The restaurant and employees all exceeded our safety expectations with Covid. Started with the flatbread and so much flavors crisp, light, and delicious! Next I had the eggplant parmesan and OMG soooo good! It is the best eggplant parmesan I've ever had. Not drenched with marinara and cheese but just the right amount so you can really taste the dish. The vegetables are a nice touch to the dish, and this was authentic and delicious as it gets! My husband got the hanger steak and loved every bite. The steak will melt in your mouth, and will def. be ordering again. We finished with the bread pudding, and our night couldn't have ended better. I enjoyed everything about our experience from start to finish. The owners Mr. and Mrs. C checked on us throughout our meal and take great pride in their restaurant and recipes. We asked them to let us know when they had their lasagna on the menu. They contacted us this weekend, and we picked up the lasagna to-go after work. I'm a lasagna snob, and this was the best I've ever had! Portions were large and I can't wait to warm up my leftovers for lunch tmw. Very excited we found this place, and highly recommend. read more

Love love loved our experience at Sugo. Drinks, food, service were all amazing. My friend and I shared the meatball and burrata app; both were delicious. We also both got the strawberry fields forever drink, which was lovely and fresh. She had the aunt Lena's chicken; the caramelizad onions and the sauce on the noodles were to die for. For me I had the shrimp scampi; the sauce was light and flavorful and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We definitely have made this a new spot on our rotation! read more

The atmosphere is great. 2 quaint dining rooms and a bar all separated. The front entrance is also separated off with nice furniture and a piano. Service was top-notch. Went there the day before Thankgiving with family and we had a pretty good experience. We sat probably at the worst table, right when you walk in behind the drapes but we made the best out of it. Overall the food was great and the service was excellent. The decor felt cozy and the vibe was relaxed. We started with excellent old fashioned crafted with the clear, big ice cubes. Then we had the shrimp scampi, canneloni, and eggplant parm paired with red wine. Then on to dessert with cannoli and tiramisu. Only gripe was their espresso martini tasted watered down. Unfortunately I have to knock them down a star. Had dinner last Saturday with another couple at 7pm. There was a rehearsal dinner the same night. The food was not great. Not hot and a little bland. The food came out really fast yet service was thin at best. A bulb which was out by the table made it very dark. Owner is always nice but instead of Sugo being are local go-to for a nice night out, we'll have to try something new next time. Really disappointed, the food was just so pedestrian this time. I recently reserved a private dining room at Sugo for a joint birthday celebration, only to find that they committed our agreed upon room to another group and moved my party to a backroom next door. Our table literally faces a wall displaying their other company's name. And on one corner was a concealed office where someone was working. My party was no more than 15 minutes late, according to my cousin who was first to arrive. She said that one of the staff asked her if we can move to a different room and led her and the other guests to the backroom converted as a dining room. But asking a member of my party who was unaware of the details of the reservation put them in a situation where they felt the need to simply agree. A phone call could have prevented the issue. Giving the other party the backroom would have prevented the issue. Then the General Manager came and offered to split use of the room that I had booked. Since my guests, who all flew in from out of state, were already seated, I decided not to move my rather large party of 12. The pros, the main server, Britney was very friendly and attentive. And the desserts like the spumoni and tiramisu were great, as they were when we scouted the place. read more

Wow, when most restaurants have floundered after the pandemic days, Sugo is better than ever. Previously we ate here a few years ago and while I thought it was good I didn't think it was amazing. This visit we ordered the right dishes and boy were we impressed. The meatball appetizer is excellent and a must have. We have had the dates previously and they are very good as well but the meatball is our favorite. We had the Greek flatbread this time around and loved it. We had Lena's chicken and this was the show stopper. It melted in your mouth and was so good we can't stop talking about it. We also had the shrimp scampi and it was very good but just not as amazing as Lena's chicken. My daughter had the kids ravioli with Alfredo sauce and she really liked it. I tasted it and really liked it as well. We tried the tiramisu for dessert because we had to after how good our entrees were. It did not disappoint. This was the one of the few meals we've had out recently where we felt the ticket price was worth it. The service was excellent. I do have to say the owner coming around to every table really makes a difference. He doesn't have to do this but obviously enjoys doing it and it adds to the energy of the restaurant. This place is a Hidden Gem. We were extremely impressed with the kind gesture the owners have at greeting and setting a first impression. We were seated by the pleasant owner(lady), who advised us who our server was going to be and his name. Within seconds our server was at our table. He was pleasant as well. Seemed like thurs Restaurant truly appreciates their customers and not to forget they all carry big smiles. They started us off with complementary appetizer, the entree recommended by the server was amazingly soo good. To top it all they brought us canolli as complementary dessert. This is the best Italian restaurant I've to where they live up to the standards. Ambience is lively, great selection of wine and off course the food. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I went here with a friend after we found it on Yelp, and couldn't be happier. The atmosphere is great, you actually walk into an Italian restaurant, not an italian-themed restaurant. The service was phenomenal - I don't remember the gentleman's name who served us (he had an impressive beard), but him and everyone else we encountered we're very friendly, knowledgeable, and authentic. The owner and manager both stopped by, both were very friendly and genuine. Nothing is better than an Italian family running an Italian restaurant. Food was true food Network quality. The meatball appetizer was delicious, it was the perfect size for two to split. The entrees were incredible - I got the Aunt Lena's chicken. I would definitely recommend it - it's the perfect combination of sweet to savory flavor. My friend devoured the shrimp scampi, which was very tasty as well. Sugo is one of our favorite restaurants. It never disappoints. My mother had her 70th birthday at Sugo (Roswell). She is now 85 and she still talks about how good the food was. Excellent experience from start to finish! Our sever was great and made our dining experience amazing. We started with bocconcini which was fabulous with just the right hint of spice. I can recommend the braised veal and Caesar salad. My family also enjoyed the blackened chicken pasta, eggplant parmigiana & the cannelloni. Our sever was very attentive and the manager also came by at the start of the meal and the end to ensure we were enjoying our dinner. That was very impressive. From the bacon wrapped dates, meatball appetizers to the Aunt Lena's Chicken, FEDERICO'S BRACIOLE and the fish special were worth going back for. Food We went for dinner during restaurant week and ordered the famous meatball for an appetizer - it's huge and delicious and can kind of be it's own entree. I had the salmon for main entree and creme brulee for dessert. Everything was delicious. Cocktails were great as well. Don't sleep on this great restaurant. I took my Queen here today for Valentine's Day and man am I glad we went. The best meatball I have ever had to date. The service was great, the staff was very polite and friendly but the food was indeed the star of the show today. I had the pecan crusted red snapper and my wife had the lobster tail. I cannot believe I have never reviewed this family owned restaurant. Pre-COVID this was a special occasion type destination: client owed me a favor? Sugo. Mother coming in town? Sugo. Simply a great experience every time. Tonight was our THIRD COVID takeout from them. All have been great, but tonight was particularly impressive. We did the $17.76 price fixe menu: we gave allergies and picky eaters - every tweak requested was met perfectly. Food was placed into my car in numbered bags, very easy. Our entrees were the big green egg hanger steak with gigande beans; we also ordered a shrimp scampi pasta. Lovely. Terrific quality ingredients, plated beautifully. Appetizers were arancini (risotto balls) and spanakopita. Desserts were lovely cannoli and bread pudding. Word to the wise - if Sugo runs a price fixe Special - buy it. You will more than get you money's worth. They are open for dine in, but we are still sheltering in place when possible. Places like Sugo make that easier. read more

This was my second visit to Sugo! The review starts with a Facebook advertisement for "Halloween Specials" so I called in last week to make a reservation for Christian and I. They asked if we were celebrating anything and I said "we just got engaged", so I assumed they would do something for us during our meal. As far as the customer service over the phone, the person who answered wasn't very friendly. I called twice because I got hung up on the first time. The hostess seemed a bit annoyed. I could be wrong but that's how it seemed. 10/28/17 Arriving at Sugo, the restaurant is actually hidden towards the back of the shopping center. The first time we came here we got lost. The parking lot is kind of tight but we always manage to find parking! The atmosphere of Sugo is so intimate, it's eye catching and unique, that's for sure. They have a gorgeous patio but it was raining so that wouldn't be an option. (Although the Patio is covered). The decorations are so vintage and cool! I love the piano in the waiting area. The dim lights just set the mood. They have a beautiful bar area with numerous choices and wine galore! We walk over to the host and got seated right away. It was a packed house and we had a small table in between two medium sized tables. It was a bit hard to get into my seat without disrupting the people next to me. There was a Halloween special menu on our table, so we decided to start with the Pork Belly. I also sipped on "The Buckhead Betty" to start with. Our waiter was very attentive and his service was great. The first time we came 5 weeks ago we also had a great waitress so that remains consistent! As for the food, I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and Christian ordered the Veggie Pasta. Both came out in a timely matter and were very fresh and hot! The pork belly we ate as an appetizer was so tender and delicious, we definitely enjoyed our food. The food is definitely authentic and has more flavor than what you would find at an Olive Garden or anything in that ball park. They do provide toasted bread with olive oil throughout your meal and although it's simple, it was great quality. We ordered a tiramisu for dessert and it was AMAZING. I'm a big tiramisu lover and this was one of the best I've had. Last time we came they brought out a mini dessert and two small moscatos in honor of "date night" I figured since they asked what we were celebrating that they'd do something for our engagement- they didn't. It could've just been our waiter or maybe a disconnect but that did disappoint me a bit but it wasn't a big deal. The owner walked around twice to ensure every customer was okay and I liked that. It seems they are very prideful in delivering great customer service. Our final verdict- yes I'll be back because all in all this was great! Small disconnects here and there but nothing major to completely turn us off! 4/5 for two visits! If you would like to try authentic Italian in an intimate setting this would make a perfect date spot! read more
