GETTING HERE: Off the 101 Freeway in Summerland, California. Take Lillie off ramp and you will drive right into it. Sometimes parking is very very limited so just try to be mindful of that. REVIEW: Oh please do not sleep on Summerland Café. I have been coming here since the early 2010. I am so thankful that they made it through shut down. This is such a legendary, iconic, place. Food is always 100%. Over the years I've gotten a variety of items in my most recent item was the sandwich Mary Lambert, Please. My only hiccup is that the bacon was too raw for my liking. I had asked for crispy bacon first and I needed to ask a second time. But the server brought it out without a negative attitude. So that was a plus. All the food is outstanding. I'm so glad to share that! They persevered and are stronger than ever post-shut down. You have the choice to sit outside or inside depending on the availability. Sitting outside, gives you an amazing view of the coast. I highly recommend!

While in the area we decided to have lunch here. It had pretty good reviews on Yelp but I was a bit disappointed. Unfriendly customer service that kind of discourages you right from the beginning. Took our waiter a while to approach us. We had to ask for him twice before he came to take our order. By the way it wasn't even busy the time we got there. It was around 2 pm close to their closing time. I ordered the cheeseburger of paradise with fries. The fries were so oily that I couldn't eat it. The burger was average but again I only ate half. My husband ordered the avo burger which he said he enjoyed. Greasy food lovers will love it here I think. Not my kind of food choice. I do love a good burger but this was not it. Maybe should have tried a sandwich. Anyways it's ok. The decor was cute. Very country looking beach cafe that could have a great ambiance on a busy summer day I believe. ....

Passing through stopped for a bite to eat. Being from LA i appreciate this little town. It has a natural beauty to it. Food was amazing service was fast. Restaurant was very cute n super clean. Menu is large n they seem to have options for everyone. They offer indoor n outdoor seating. Definitely a must try especially if u aren't from the area

Crab cake Benedict is DELICIOUS! A must try IMHO.

Excellent diner food. I drive to Santa Barbara several times a year and this diner is my go-to spot right before i get there. The benedicts here are better than any I've tried in LA and is a must try IMO. Service is always friendly and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Summerland Beach Café is such a charming spot and the perfect way to start a Santa Barbara morning. The atmosphere is relaxed and beachy, with plenty of natural light and a cozy, welcoming vibe. It feels like the kind of place where you can linger over breakfast, watch the locals come and go, and just enjoy the slow pace of coastal life. The service was excellent friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. My server made sure I had everything I needed without hovering, and the food came out quickly but still felt fresh and made with care. I ordered the veggie omelette with potatoes and extra veggies on the side, along with a warm ginger tea. Everything was cooked perfectly. The omelette was fluffy and packed with fresh vegetables, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the tea was soothing and fragrant a perfect balance for a morning by the beach. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you want to come back the next day and try something new on the menu. Between the great service, delicious food, and lovely ambience, Summerland Beach Café is a must-visit whenever you're in the area.

This is my go-to spot for sure! I don't even know how many people I've referred to Summerland Beach Café for breakfast. The food, the atmosphere, the prices. Everything is on point! I always have the Two Two Two with eggs scrambled hard. And a monster hot chocolate. It's the same order every time and the same satisfaction!

First time here! I honestly did not know what to expect but I had a hunch that I would have the best french toast as I was craving it. Service immediately was awesome, was greeted upon arrival. There was no wait time so basically was seated almost immediately. I had the option to choose between inside or patio/balcony but because it was such a beautiful day I chose the patio/balcony. Food omgee where should I start! French toast did not disappoint, fluffy enough and topped with fruit (banana & strawberries) I also ordered a hot chocolate to go with my breakfast. Every single item I tried was just delicious. If you're on the way to Santa Barbara this is a great cute spot to stop for breakfast!

We were driving north and stopped here for a late breakfast. I had bacon, eggs, and French Toast, . The bacon had only about 1:4" of meat on top. The eggs were good. The French toast was only crispy on top. And barely cooked on the bottom. Very disappointing.

Are they still in business - came by on Wednesday 7/20 w a large group and the business was closed w no phone pickup?

    Do they take reservations?

They do! If you call ahead. Otherwise I recommend for smaller groups to use Yelp's Waitlist to put yourself in line and shorten the wait.

    Is there room Rv parking?

Not in the parking lot for this business. Lillie Ave west of here also has only car-sized places. Go through to the end and turn right on Evans Ave. That is your best chance for parking an RV within 1 block of Summerland Beach Cafe.

Do we need reservations for Sunday brunch with a group of 4? We are coming from out of town and want to make sure we get in.

We were there for lunch and were seated immediately without reservations. (This was on a Monday and then on a Wednesday, both timed around noon.)

My mom books our room through their website, actually their website. When we go to check out she asks for a printout of the incidentals as usual. She looks it over and informs the guy at the front desk that this was not her bill because she paid $100 more for the room and the credit card shown was not hers. She also did not book through Expedia. The guy looks it over and says it was her statement and that sometimes Expedia makes their website look like the hotel's (if this is true it sounds illegal and if it is legal wtf). He also said the lower amount that was on the statement is what Expedia pays them and that's the card Expedia uses. All very weird! In the end we paid $100 more for the room, not sure how to get this resolved. The guy at the front desk seemed knowledgeable about this, yet wasn't too interested in helping. Also, room 25 had lots and lots of fruit flies in it; like 20+ flying around everywhere.

There is a table right at the window so you can enjoy dining/reading/sitting with an incredible and private VIEW! This time we got the only accommodation that has TWO rooms-- so it felt like a small apartment without a kitchen! It's extra spacious and allowed everyone to have their privacy. The rooms are SUPER cute! Yes, the furniture is old. Yes, it looks like grandma's house. But from someone who has stayed in luxury resorts most of the time, these charming and timeless rooms have a special place in my heart. I'm not even sure if this makes sense, but the ambiance welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel right at home. It truly feels like I came to grandmas house. It feels so familiar and I know for a fact, staying here is healing my inner child each time. We all know the views are absolutely incredible-- I mean... breakfast buffet overlooking the cliffs AND you can watch surfers and dolphins in the distance while you enjoy your food? Can't get better than that. You can go visit the shore during low tide or walk over to the pier that leads to an island! This hotel is tucked away from the city and I absolutely love the seclusion. Although it's right next to the highway, staying here feels like stepping into a peaceful parallel universe-- the world still moves on the other side of the wall, but you're suspended in your own quiet, dreamlike bubble until it's time to return to reality. The service is too notch! She has gone out of her way to accommodate us and never made any request feel like it was too much or an inconvenience. If you thought this place couldn't get any better, it DOES-- they have a Restaurant that serves lunch and dinner!!! Let me stop before I write a novel. This has literally become my favorite hotel.

The way this restaurant works is that you go up to the front window, you place your order, you go and sit down, and the order is brought out to you. Pretty simple. It's important to note, however, that this is a popular café. So, particularly on peak hours, you're probably going to have to wait to put in your order. That's just an FYI. In terms of seating, they have a large outdoor patio space. There's a lot of tables there, so you should have no problem getting a seat, weather permitting. This area has tarps over it, so you do have some protection from the sun. But, depending on the weather, you may or may not like sitting there. Personally, I always like to sit outside at this restaurant. They do have some interior seating. It's fairly limited, but they do have a few tables. So, if you're lucky enough, and you want to sit inside, you may be able to grab one of these tables to sit at for your meal. In terms of their food, it's basically Americana, with a little bit of a southwestern twist. Overall, it's pretty good. They also have all of the expected drinks: your coffees, your lattes, your soft drinks, and all of that kind of stuff. Overall, this is an interesting take on a café in the Santa Barbara area. If you're into a casual environment, this is a fun place to eat.

We ordered the full rack of ribs and tri tip French dip to accompany hubby's cold beers and my tall pomegranate spritz. Both meals were so flavorful and the ribs were so tender they fell off the ribs. My tri tip with au jus was also well seasoned and prepared. We said we'd be there in about half an hour and asked if we should make a reservation, and the person on the line said there was no need, as we should be able to walk in. I was pretty annoyed when we showed up as promised and the restaurant was completely full. Like I understand that the staff can't predict what will happen between noon and 12:30 on Thanksgiving Day, but this did seem foreseeable, and they should have taken our name down since we'd told them we were coming. I told the host what had happened, and she just kind of smiled and acted like she hadn't heard me. No apology, and we waited, with two young kids and their grandparents, for forty minutes. Service was fine once we sat down, and the patio setting was nice. The menu was basic California coastal, nothing exciting but something for everyone. I got the Central Coast Cobb, a hearty salad with Santa Ynez greens, grilled organic chicken breast, crispy bacon, Munak Ranch soft boiled egg, avocado, tomato, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette. I liked it, and it kept me full enough until Thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to the Revere Room, which feels like it mostly exists to feed hotel guests. I'm glad we had somewhere to go with my parents and kids, though, even if they were snooty about making us wait.

If you're visiting Santa Barbara and looking for a great breakfast or coffee spot, Helena Avenue Bakery is absolutely worth the stop. Great food, great coffee, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!
