Can I give this place zero stars? Rude, rude, RUDE service. Place looks dirty and food was not great either. Avoid this hole.

I don't think I'll go back. Pros: hibachi, salad bar, hard ice cream. Cons: everything else. I spit out most of my chicken options into the napkin, was there even chicken in there? It seemed like either all rinds, fat slime or breading. The hot and sour soup was like jelly and the garlic bread soggy. The pineapple at the fruit bar canned and the pudding a generic off brand of runny goo. The worst part, every single thing I put on my plate was cold by the time I got back to my table. Every. Single. Thing. The hostess was nice and friendly but the server was slow to refill drinks and seemed annoyed to have to be there. I'd rather go to Great Moon. The food is fresher and the staff nicer. It's ok, and worth the price. Very big selection, sushi, hibachi grill. Was busy but not crowded for weekday lunch. However, their website quotes a weekday senior lunch price of $7.95 but they actually rang me up at over $10, with the only explanation "dollar off". Maybe they just don't bother to keep their website up to date. Their "baked crab" was fake crab (not a surprise at the price point, and I like fake crab ok). Drinks may or may not be extra. Signs at the tables say soda is $1.95, but I wasn't charged extra, maybe that's their defense for the price increase. But I'd rather know those details up front. Service was fine (how much service do you need at a buffet, so long as they keep restocking the food?). The tip thing didn't bother me, though I'd rather see them pay their help a living wage so they don't need the tips. read more

My family and I come here so often but we decided to stop since every time we come, servers want to point at the check on where their tip is at. We believe in tipping but it's always so rude when the waitress is hovering when they're giving you the check and waiting for the tip to be given. But no where in sight after they greet you at the begging with the drinks and doesn't return until the check is given and waits for the tips. This one time even a server stoped us on our way out to the booth and pointed at the check as we were leaving saying "tip me" and didn't see we had left the tips under the tray. Regardless this keeps happening and it's so rude. Food is sooo great and all but not when wait staff acts like this. read more

I just called this place to get a cost for today...for some reason my wife and I want sushi on mothers day. They told me because it is a holiday they're charging 14 dollars. And mothers get a rose, that's an additional 2 dollars. Call me crazy but isn't a special holiday supposed to be discounted? I like the sushi and the mongolian grill. They are good. Most of the other large offerings are OK, if not spectacular. My problem is with the service. My server was fine all through the meal. When I was finishing my meal, she brought me a fortune cookie and ASKED FOR A TIP!! I owned a restaurant for 15 years and that is VERY rude. I then stiffed her. Horrible place. Even though the sign says free refills, they will not provide them even when asked multiple times. The employees here try to charge me for dinner while I was here for lunch. Like there was other customers that was here before me and they didn't get ask to pay the difference. Why am I single out here? If you know that lunch is ending you can at least ask that you're going to charge your customer dinner price not lunch prices and then ask them to pay full for dinner. I like the buffet but recently had one bad customer experience. So I unknowingly dropped a little piece of food on my way to my table and the server was trying to notify me and I knew so I was gonna go set the food down and clean up the food I dropped but the server got impatient and grabbed napkins to clean it up. I felt bad so apologize but apparently that was not enough. She decided to not fill my water for the rest of the time I was there. She went to the table behind me to refill their drinks as well as the table in front of me but skipped my table. I even saw her at one point just staring at my empty cup but walked away. I recently visited this establishment in Minneapolis. I had never heard of it but had friends in town who thought a buffet sounded good. The parking situation was a bit alarming but once I got over that I was surprised by the size of the location as we entered. I'm not a buffet kind of girl but growing up in Iowa and Illinois we were known to wander into an Old Country Buffet every now and then so I figured I'd give it a try. Initially, I thought it was a sushi bar and I don't like sushi but there is always chicken teriyaki! We approached the hostess who was a bit cold and awkward but got seated within a few minutes. As I looked around I saw couples, families, groups of friends gathering and eating. My friends (all males) were at the table for 30 seconds and then started walking away immediately reminding me it's a buffet. No menus to peruse?! Nope. So, I made my way into the maze. Grab a plate and off you GO! I have to admit I was overwhelmed at first. I saw fish, shrimp, chicken, gumbo, casseroles, vegetables, rice, lobster, octopus, prime rib you name it. I don't eat most of that so I was about to go into full carb overload (omg those doughy sweet rolls and fried donuts are the devil!) until I happened upon my naughty girl meal: sweet and sour chicken and fresh fried rice. It was perfection. I should have stopped after round one but I did seconds of fried rice and tried the roasted chicken which was great as well. My last trip was for dessert. I tried two custard like cake bars, one was coffee flavored the other strawberry, and then some dessert cup with a sweet mousse covered in jam. All light and delucious. Lastly, mint chocolate chip ice cream. I had to call it quits after that. The best part - the bill $17.00 and some odd cents. I will be back, mostly because I completely missed the chocolate fountain we saw on the way out! read more

Monday, July 18: This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant and I will never return. I want to make sure that the person responsible for my experience is held accountable for her actions and I want everyone to know what kind of people this restaurant puts in charge. First off, I think that the food was as good as any other Chinese buffet but the cost was a little high. It cost about $24 for two of us for the Daily Dinner buffet but we didn't have the Daily Dinner buffet! We walked through the door at 3:26pm - I checked my cell phone because we wanted to do the Lunch buffet which, according to the sign on the door, ended at 3:30pm. I asked the hostess, "The lunch buffet is still on, right?" but the hostess said that their clock showed that it was after 3:30pm. I said, "It's not 3:30 yet..." and showed her my watch. She said, and I am quoting here, "Oh, okay, no problem". More on the time and so forth later. We went up to get our food and when I returned, there was a restaurant worker walking away with a dirty, black, string-mop which I noticed because it was so dirty and unsanitary looking. When I got near our table, I slipped and did the splits. The floor was covered in a layer of greasy water, right in a major path. I guess I let out some sort of a sound of distress and waitress turned and asked if I was okay. The man had returned and he came to me saying, in broken English, "It's okay, I put signs, I put signs". I told him that the signs were good but the floor was way too wet and that he needed to dry it right away. When I made another trip and came back, the water was still standing on the tiles so I went to the mop man again and told him that he really, really needed to dry the floor right away. He said, "See, I put machine" referring to a fan but I told him, "No, no, you really need to get some towels or something and wipe up the water right away!" That's when a woman in her early twenties named Mavina (or a name close to that) came up to us and told the man, "No, no", shaking her head. Then she told me, in broken English, that she had taken care of it. I told her that, no, that water was still standing on the floor and it was still very slippery. She told me, "Sir, it's taken care of, you go sit down". I tried to stress to her that the standing water had to be wiped up and, looking for a word she might understand, I said, "It is like, illegal". But she just kept up, making condescending gestures, as if brushing me away, and saying, "You go sit down, you go sit down. I've taken care of it." Losing my patience I said, "What part of 'get some towels and dry this up' don't you get?" She pushed me out of the way and walked to the front desk. The man, against her orders, came to me with an arm full of towels and said, "I will fix", which he did. I thanked him and sat down. Our waitress came to me and, patting me on the shoulder, said "So sorry, so sorry" over and over again and "She bad". Then the bill came... Where the hostess had marked "Lunch" was crossed-out and Daily Dinner was written. So, when we went to pay, Mavina struck again. I told her that we came at 3:26pm and that someone had crossed out Lunch and written Daily Dinner. She said, "You came at 3:30", but I explained what the hostess said. She said, "Our clock show you came at 3:30". I said that her clock was wrong and that she should check it with her cell phone. But, it was like talking to a robot, a very rude one that kept repeating the same thing. She even went so far as to show me the paper sign on the hostess station, which now conveniently read 3:25pm, next to where the 3:30pm had been crossed out. She had actually gone to the point of altering the sign that I had seen on the way in - what, to "punish me"??? Good gawd!!! I still can't believe that a restaurant employee, much less a manager in charge, would treat a customer that way. I know that the adage "The customer is always right" is an old one and that it can be taken to extremes by some but, really??? Telling a customer, who is complaining that he slipped on a greasy, wet floor, "You go sit down", while making condescending gestures and doing nothing about the problem. Then arguing over the correctness of a clock and a difference of three or four minutes - and forcing a customer to pay more than the price that was basically agreed upon earlier. This Mavina is some piece of work. She obviously has some sort of a chip on her shoulder and has absolutely no customer service training or experience. With her aggressive attitude, I don't believe that she could ever take a subordinate or service role when dealing with customers and I would find it hard to believe that she could even take a peer-level role with coworkers. I think she should lose her job over this. As a matter of fact, I suggest that any potential customers call and ask if Mavina still works there and avoid that place until she's gone. read more

I was surprised by how large this buffet was. For dinner, there were 6 rows of food including sushi and grill stations. You can get seafood delicacies including crawfish, honey walnut shrimp, crab, clams, and mussels. The variety was so vast they even had at least three different kinds of fried chicken. The sushi rolls looked more creative than the kind of sushi that is usually served at sushi buffets. They didn't have sashimi but I think this buffet is an excellent deal at $10.99. read more

Be careful, you risk having cancer if you eat here, a guy I know works in the kitchen told me that they put alot of chemical in their meat, some white powder to make the meat, shrimp expand and a different type of powder to make it stay fresh longer and also tons of MSG! These chemical will make you feel very thirsty after eating here, he said after seeing all the stuff putting in there, he would never put these "food" in his mouth ever. I wanted to like this place, but alas, the food didn't quite make it. The decor was nice.The food, both meat and veggie, seemed to mostly be overcooked and mushy. We ate in the early evening so maybe the food had sat in heat trays for too long. The main flavor notes in evidence were bland, mushy and not enough salt. The sushi was ok, but bland. Sushi rice is supposed to have some flavor guys! I suggest heading a few miles west on Lake Street to 1st Ave, to visit Hibbachi Buffet. They have MUCH better food for a comparable price. read more

We go here once or twice weekly. I have food prepared on the grill fresh. The buffet is good as well (I don't eat it because I avoid sugars and fried food.) But since my husband loves Chinese buffets, it works out. I get fresh veggies and chicken from the grill and he eats the buffet food. There is plenty of options and lots of food. The best buffet in the Twin Cities There is a sushi station as well. The wait staff is overall pretty nice. It is very clean. Lunch is my favorite and it is very cheap. Have gone multiple times, always enjoy my visit. Food has never disappointed, with your typical array for Chinese buffets in the area. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place! We would dine in and also do to-go. Tonight we had the absolute worst experience here which I had to share. First I would like to start by saying that I myself work in the service industry and know how important guest satisfaction and customer service is. That being said our experience lacked in that to the fullest extent. Arriving after 830 pm is something I would not suggest. So many food items were missing, mis-labeled, cold and even slopped together in one pan. They closed the teppanyaki grill area, or at least tried to tell me that several times 50 minutes before the close of the restaurant. I did get my food made after stating that I wouldn't pay if I could not get the teppanyaki. The teppanyaki was my main reason for going. Since they had "closed" the teppanyaki I was forced to use one tong to gather all of my raw ingredients thus contaminating all of the food used at the grill. The food was sloppily prepared and not good at all. We asked to speak to Susan the manager. She came over basically saying why did we wait 45 minutes to complain. We went through our whole experience explaining that we had only eaten 2 plates of food between us...one being all fruit. I couldn't even eat my plate of teppanyaki food. All we wanted was 50% off since we had half the experience we normally do. We explained that we frequent there multiple times a week and normally love it. Susan came back offering $3 off our bill after looking over the buffet area and observing our complaints. We responded saying that was unacceptable and paid $20 which was more than what our food was worth. She responded by telling us never to return again. This situation should and could have been handled better but I now will not give this business my money or support again. read more

Ok so i went here with my family the other night after my son had a basketball game i tell the lady three kids and three adults she shows us to our table we eat tried the grill area pretty good so when we get the check i am charged for 5 adults and one child!!!! So we go to the front to have them fix this problem and the lady argues with me telling me my kids aren't their age because their big!!?? Wtf so because their thick ,healthy whatever you wanna call it that's not their age? I told her change it she told me if I bring in a birth certificate she would!! Is she crazy? Then she keeps going saying she asked them their ages but I know they didn't cause they don't speak! So she ended up calling security and he also told her just because their healthy doesn't mean thats not their age he seen them also so she changed the total and aid a few words in another language and said next time you pay full price...so if you are healthy and have healthy young children bring their birth certificate to get charged right I will not be back!!! read more

I would be very careful with your bill. We purchased a gift card from them and when my sister tried to use it, management at the restaurant claimed all but 5$ was used, which was not true. We lost 25$ and nothing was done to look into the error and see why this could have happened. We were asked to pay our bill and were literally pushed out the door. This will be our last visit..... She said she could get us some more but it would be the same since it all came out of the same place. I was also concerned because it seemed like I could taste soap, like the container had not been rinsed properly since the last washing. They should have offered something else for us to drink. Upon paying for the meal I mentioned this to the cashier and all she said was she was drinking tea right now and looked at us like we were diseased. if the cashier had offered an apology or an adjustment to the 3.00 charge per person, total of $9 which I think she should have done to gain us as a regular customer, she would have received a large tip. They also should post their drink charge as I saw it nowhere. Well, I guess if we go here in the future we will not expect them to solve any problem, which is too bad since the rest of the food was good. The WORST place to take ur mother & grandma! Let me explain. We were coming back from a doctor's apt my grandma had & my mother suggested we go to this Chinese restaurant. So, we went in dragging my grandma too & asked for 1 plate as a take out for my grandma & 2 regular all u can eat for me & my mom. The idea was that me & my mom would eat there & my 90 yr old grandma would get a plate/box that she can eat too ( most likely take 3 bits & be full) & then take that 99% full plate home as leftovers. NOT that simple at all. It was "against the rules." Because we could go back & add more food to her already full plate. I could not make the manager understand that my grandma would not be able to eat even 1/10 of that box & we wanted to eat as a family & that I could afford 100 meals if she could eat it. My pleas were a waste. At the end, my grandma decided not to eat at all & I was too upset to eat too. So, we both left after paying $15 for 1 meal & 2 drinks & left my mother in the restaurant to eat alone. My mother was not happy about that. Not a good day. read more
