If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I totally would! From the second we walked in, the owners and staff made us feel like family. Their kindness and hospitality were just next-level--I've never felt so welcomed at a restaurant before. We went for a 25th birthday and they exceeded all of my expectations :) It was a Monday night, so maybe it wasn't their busiest time, but honestly, this place deserves to be packed every single day. The food? AMAZING. I had the ramen since I don't eat sushi, and it was hands-down some of the best I've ever had. The rest of my group (ten of us!) couldn't stop raving about the sushi. They said it was really good! They had California rolls, Avocado rolls, dynamite rolls, salmon rolls, Mexican Spicy Roll, so many rolls lol. We also tried the fried rice and a couple of vegetarian dishes (for our vegetarian friend) and everything was just spot on. They are definitely still getting the hang of it. They messed up our order probably 5 times. I think they misread the sheet and then also just missed items. They were so nice about it, and corrected it each time though. This did not take away from our experience and I imagine with time they'll be better about this. I've been coming here frequently for a few years (at least 3x a month on average). I loved the consistency and prices were always fair. This week I've noticed that they have drastically shrunk the size of their rolls and the fish on top is half the size as well. I am disappointed. I'm wondering if they got new management or if they just had to scale back due to inflation. Not sure if I want to continue coming here. The rolls we got this week were sad. The only reason I came to Sumo Sushi is because their rolls were really well made. I might try it one more time to see if this was a fluke. This place is awesome! Easy parking and big space to accommodate big groups. This AYCE place is affordable- I believe they provide a 15-20% discount with a group larger than 5 people. It was around $30 pp. The food was delicious! I'm still thinking about that deep fried soft shell crab. We mainly ordered nigiri sushi, so can't speak for the rolls. The fish was fresh and the fish/rice ratio was on point. We were starving and we were super satisfied. Service was super friendly. As someone who absolutely loves sushi, Sumo sushi is a great find. It's in the back of the plaza so it's easy to miss but it's a solid AYCE spot if you're into that. The food has always been pretty good every time I went and the quality is consistent. It's probably not as good as some other places but it holds it's own for sure. I will say the only problem I have with this place is the price. It's about 30-35 dollars a person so it's pretty expensive for what you get. I think if the fish to rice ratio was a little better it would be worth it. I've definitely see other places charge the same price and you get more rice than fish so Sumo Sushi is for sure better than those places. Other than the price I have no major complaints. I think one time I came here they had some major health code violations but they were quick to resolve those issues. read more

Hidden gem! I don't eat sushi a ton, partly due to the over proliferation of places in the Inland Empire that have really made it somewhat generic. I've been here a couple of times for All You Can Eat and both times the food was excellent and the servers kept the sushi coming, which was great! And on those days where I don't feel like being a glutton, I stop by after work to get some rolls to go, so I guess I can say that I've now become a fan. For to go orders, if you order 3 rolls, you get a 4th for free, which I love. The biggest thing I appreciate about this place is that there is a good balance between the amount of fish and the amount of rice. I've been to many a place where the fish portions are microscopic and you can definitely tell that they are pushing more rice than fish. Definitely worth a visit. read more

The quality of the food/ingredients and the food presentation was superb. Our server(s) were very nice and friendly too! I just want to start by saying we LOVE it here and go anytime we want sushi! We've brought family multiple times so they can experience Sumo Sushi. It's good quality fish and great prices! HOWEVER! This visit today had me rethinking how I feel about it and it makes me really bummed out. My wife and I brought 4 of our family members to try it! We were so excited to have them experience our favorite sushi spot. There were 6 of us. 5 did AYCE because the 6th member wasn't hungry. However, he did ordered ramen. When we got the first round, he asked to have ONE small sashimi piece. Then one of the workers ran over and said if he ate any of the AYCE (even one little piece) that he would be charged for AYCE. Which we understand and did. THEN, the entire meal he was staring at us over the counter while the restaurant was full. It made my family feel very uncomfortable. It's really frustrating when you love a place and take people there then have a bad experience. Whoever that worker or owner or whoever he was, needs to reevaluate his life. read more
