My wife Renee B, had left a review on this site that was not favorable to Sun Auto, regarding work completed on my BMW and her Ford Escape. After I had retrieved my car from them, I noticed that my front fender reflector was broken. I called the assistant manager Steve who asked me to bring the vehicle back in to inspect the damage. This I did and after two days I called to find out their decision. After discussing the issue Steve told me if I would have my wife change her review to a more factual content, that he would order the $16 lens. Every part of my wife's review was factual and I now understand what type of company we had dealt with. Dishonest and using a $16 lens to get an unfavorable review removed. I went in to get my 2021 Ford-150 inspected today. This was the first time since purchasing the truck brand new that I have needed an inspection. Jose T. helped me and was very condescending from the start. He made me feel like I didn't know what I was doing, most likely because I am a woman. Upon inspection of the truck, he proceeded to tell me that my truck had "failed," saying there was an issue with one of my headlights. Both of my headlights are fine and in great working order, but he said it was something to do with the "wiring or a fuse" and that I needed to pay them $200 to fix it. I could hear other employees trying to strong arm an older woman in the shop as well who was having her vehicle checked out. After leaving without their "$200 repair," I headed to a different shop where my truck passed with flying colors. I was also told that there was not a single thing wrong with my truck at all. Ladies - keep this in mind when you go look for an auto service shop. Sun Auto is not going to get my business, that is for sure! read more

Luis was great, very helpful. However, what I had done was 1/3 more than any other shop. My rear door was left open and my driver side door, on the inside, filthy. I had a quote for switching else I need done, almost 50% more compared to a quality shop across the highway. Not impressed, and will not be returning. read more

I took my car in for a simple oil change Oct 6. A year ago they quoted me a "needed repair" of about 3K but when I took it someplace else they said it was not necessary work. So I don't take my car here for repairs, but a simple oil change I thought they could do. They told me my battery tested "time to replace" but knowing I had a warranty I took it to Auto Zone for testing and the battery tested perfect. Why lie to me and try to install a battery when it was not necessary? Then I started having oil leaks that got worse during the next few days. Knowing they would probably just lie to me again if I took it back, I took to to a reputable auto repair shop. They had not replaced the gasket when they changed the oil and had not tightened the plug. It cost me another $50 to get it done right, but worth it and I learned my lesson - never, ever under any circumstance take my car to Sun Auto!!!! People whining about not passing inspection cuz of tint and somewhere else passed them, YEAH, the other place probably passes everyone so they get paid, sun auto does things CORRECTLY according to the state! Some complaints about 'suggested work' and he took it somewhere else who said it was 'necessary'.. S.A. did not say it was NECESSARY, they said it was recommended, or what most people call PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE! I've ignored it before (trying to be cheap like u) and it ended up I should have listened to them & repaired/replaced when they suggested BEFORE it was a BIG problem.. basically it ended up costing me more! Moral of the story, cheapo, you replace your tires when they're bald? Or do u wait for them to blowout? S.A. has always treated us great, it may not be the cheapest but guess what? I like to feel confident when I'm doing 85 MPH instead of thinking to myself "I saved $25". We've had 5 different cars fixed there, never had a problem with ANY repair! 2-20-2020 Brought vehicle to Sun Auto Geotgetown for front brakes replacement. 8-8-2020 brought the vehicle back to Sun Auto because the front brakes groaned while applying the brake peddle. It had been doing that since the original brake job. Upon inspection, it was determined that the brake calipers needed to be replaced. My vehicle had 93000 miles at the time of the original brake job, and I asked why they didn't check the calipers at that time, and the guy behind the counter agreed that they should have and he would forgo the labor charge and I would pay for the part. So far, so good, and both front calipers were replaced. 9-8-2020 I Brought the vehicle back to Sun Auto with the same problem of groaning noise while applying the brakes; that is when I first met the service manager, Travis. While talking to the service agent behind the desk and explaining the problem, Travis blatantly inserted himself into the conversation. He was adamant that it could not possibly be a problem with the brakes and that it had to be something else. Every one of his vehicle service guys had done hundreds of brake jobs. He took it personally and told me to leave his shop when I disagreed with him. He would not be working on my car. After leaving Sun Auto, my right front brake locked up, and the wheel began to smoke. 9-9-2020 One day later, I brought the vehicle back to Sun Auto, and they replaced the right front brake caliper and the pads. They did not replace the left caliper. 8-10-2022 I brought the vehicle in for, you guessed it, a groaning noise coming from the left front brake, and it was not like Travis learned anything from the first encounter because he insisted that there was nothing wrong with the brakes. The Calipers have a two-year 24000-mile warranty, and at that time, my vehicle had one month left on the warranty. When the inevitable happened. the vehicle's left front brake locked up. it was out of warranty, and Travis, obviously vindictive, refused to honor my earlier request for potential brake failure while still under warranty. If I wanted the brake repaired, I would have to pay for it myself. As far as the stigma applied to finding a mechanic you can trust, this guy takes it to another level read more

Came in for a new pads on my car because that's all I needed as I got quoted 2 other places before coming here. They give you a really low quote so you'll come in then when your there they seem to find all these other issues that do not need to be done. Omgosh good thing it was a free estimate or I might have hit the guy after he gave me this ridiculous high quote for more to be done. Inspection service poorly run. Contrary to advertisements, you CANNOT schedule online and they don't tell you this. Advisor over phone said 45 mins, which turned into 75 mins, which turned into STARTing 90 mins later. Same number of people in line. Reply to the reply: Not factually accurate. The were 2 customers in line over the phone. After I got in (15 mins later) I was told "2 customers ahead, hour, hour and 15". Disappointed they extended the time at a whim, but I had a couple of hours. Actual time inspecting: 20 minutes. Worth ethic must have been lacking that day. "DH" was not who I spoke to. read more

I've used SUN AUTO Georgetown since they opened, I've recommeneded them to clients, and to my kids, but over time I've become more and more annoyed to the point that now I'M DONE. In the past I've had to request several times that they clean the grime and grease marks left by their mechanics on my old car interior, and when I took my absolutely spotless Audi 7 to them with light interior about a month ago for inspection, immediately when I picked it up found a big black grease smudge on the driver's door. And I'm still finding their dirty finger prints even on the headliner and other places where it's obvious they grabbed hold of to pull themselves up or our of the car. They also don't call you to tell you your car is done, you have to call them. I'm done, I'm tell my kids and all my clients to drop them and move to other options that have come along since. 5 stars is not enough to give this place! We had the most wonderful experience. Marcus Wuthrich was so professional, kind, and welcoming. We are from out of town and our car broke down in Georgetown. We arrived at Sun Auto when they opened and we were warmly greeted by Marcus who graciously listened to our auto problems and calmly took control of the situation. The fix took approximately 2 hours. They gave us a courtesy ride to a local dinner, it was so kind and going above and beyond for customer care. I would absolutely recommend this place for auto repair. read more

I had my AC fixed on my Ram 1500 a little while ago. It was starting to make some noise - so I took it in this week. Michael (service manager) took my initial phone call and explained how it will be handled. They checked it out and discovered the compressor was bad. They replaced it under warranty. I have had this vehicle and other vehicles repaired here in over the last 1-2 years. They continue to take care of me. THANK YOU MICHAEL and TEAM. Area for Improvement: Front counter help should be GREETING CUSTOMERS PLEASANTLY and INTRODUCE YOURSELF BY NAME. I showed up and I had to drive the initial conversation and greeting. Jacob Loyd has been my service advisor for a number of years, delivering exceptional service to three vehicles. I had major brake work to a Chevy Van including replacement of the infamous ABS module. My Honda Odyssey has been well serviced for CV axle replacement, strut and shock replacement, and other routine maintenance items. My Toyota Tacoma has had oil and filter changes along with tire rotation. All of it was well done, timely delivered, and backed up with reputable service warranty. When a problem appeared in a replaced CV axle, Sun Auto took care of it at no charge. I depend on Jacob, and his backup Brian Muthersbaugh, for the difficult repairs to my vehicles that keep them running great without breaking my wallet. read more

Got upset. Had an appt to get oil changed. One hour later my husband asked if they had forgotten us. When hubby finally threatened to leave it was done in 30 min. They gave us a discount. All we wanted was someone to acknowledge we were waiting a long time. The one person who did that told us he was a new employer. He was great. Other employee never wore his mask. read more

After an initial bit of confusion on my part, Marcus was really super helpful and got my headlight changed within 45 minutes. I called the location on 08/19/19 in the afternoon to get an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I was looking for a new place to take care of my automotive needs. I spoke to Travis who was very nice. Travis told me if I was there when they opened at 7:00AM on 08/20/19 he could get my Jeep in right away and have me out no later than 8:30, if not a little sooner. I took time from work, woke up early and drove 20 mins to be there at 6:45. When they opened at 7:00 I was the first and only person in the door. I told the gentleman behind the counter that I had spoken with Travis yesterday and what he had told me. I was informed they did not have any oil change mechanics currently in the building and they would be unable to do it. I was told they MIGHT be able to get my Jeep completed by 9:30! 2.5 hours for an oil change and tire rotation???? I think not. I realize sometimes employees don't show up to work, call out sick or whatever but they had NO oil change mechanics in the building at opening??? Maybe they need to fire some people and get some new employees. read more

I have been going here for about two years for my normal maintenance. I've been with them for two cars, unfortunately, and I could not be any happier. Every single time I go they are friendly, attentive, respectful and always on schedule. I have had 0 issues making/rescheduling appointments, they have great prices as well. The staff is so awesome. The last time I came before today it was very hot outside and it was just me and the boys in the building. They were all eating ice cream and they offered me some, I accepted of course. The visit before that an employee had accidentally taken the bolts for my pan with him while driving to pick up a client. I wasn't worried about it but they continued to comp my entire service and apologize. I will always recommend them. Thank you Sun Auto for keeping a smile on my face! read more

Worst service I've seen anywhere in this area for sure. Only shop open when the studs on my wheels broke off and/or stripped out when changing my tire. They not only charged $380 to put the studs I already purchased on, but they didn't even bother filling the other tires with air. Wouldn't recommend this place even IF they are the only shop open. Leaving an update, since I cannot directly respond to the message left under my message. The manager from Sun Auto did call and leave me a message. I attempted to call him back twice, but the phone just rang and there was not a way to leave a message. My daughter took her vehicle into another shop to get her safety inspection and the inspector told her the problem with the AC is probably her air filter. She told him that she just had the ac checked and the mechanic stated, well that must not have done a good job. Long story short, I changed out the cabin filter and air filter and the air flow is good to go. I'm surprised that Sun Auto did not notice the air filter, when they were looking over the A/C issue. So, it seems that I paid for a flush and charge of the system for no reason. read more

I've used Sun Auto for maintenance and thought I'd give them a shot at repairs. Called and spoke to Jordan and requested (1) AC inspection, and (2) Front end suspension inspection (probable bad CV joint- just needed confirmation. Upon dropping off, I was told it was going to cost $115 for a diagnostic fee. I was not told this on the phone prior to making arrangements and driving to the shop. In addition, the website offers a free AC inspection. This was classic Bait & Switch which should (and probably will) be reported to the State AG Consumer Affairs. I am well aware that the AC coupon states that most cars need to have the AC system evacuated and recharged in order to obtain a proper pressure check for leaks. However; I asked only for an overview diagnostic regarding a noise when the Compressor cycles and not a pressure test for leaks- there are no suspected leaks. In addition, a general pressure reading can be taken without evacuation- it's a general troubleshooting method. As far as the noise is concerned, a seasoned, experienced, and ASE certified technician would be able to diagnose the suspect noise without evacuation. Secondly, the suspension inspection- especially given the noise and symptoms as relayed to the service writer -is a mere 10 minutes once it's up on the rack to confirm the noise is or is not the CV Axle(s). I spent 20 years in the auto industry and am a previously licensed and certified AC and suspension mechanic and former shop manager. It's not something I offer to shops, I merely maintain my knowledge and use it to make informed decisions when provided with inspection results and estimates. I'd rather pay a competent Technician to do repairs for me now instead of sweating it out on the garage floor- it's often times worth it IF you're are not being hustled. It's getting so incredibly difficult to trust anybody in the industry any more. I am very disappointed in Sun Auto Georgetown for falling into the trap of sales and getting away from customer service and what it means to have a loyal automotive customer. One-time sales in no way measure up to what could possibly be a lifetime of service from a customer and their friends and relatives. This is no clique. read more

In the past, I have been a satisfied customer of Sun Auto Service and have left them a favorable review. However, that ended today. We have always (for 7 years) done the 19.99 oil change (which is now 25.00) without anyone trying to upsell other services. Today our oil change was 65.00. Likewise, they were unable to find the key to rotate the tires. (It was in the glove box). I will no longer be a customer here.
