On the recommendation of a friend, I took my BMW in for new back breaks. The manager, Richard, got me an appointment right away and at a great price. They did the work quickly and with premium parts. There was a slight challenge that came up on one of the sensors, after the break job was done but they got their diagnostic expert and a couple others in the shop jumped on it and figured it out very quickly. The next day, I got a call from Richard just making sure everything was still good and that I was satisfied with the work. Will definitely be using these guys for any needs I have in the future and definitely recommend them! read more

I was a little skeptical due to the reviews but a good friend recommended Sun Auto, so I took my 2007 Mustang GT for fluid flush, brought her in at 10:30am and told them I might need her before 3pm, they did just that had her ready around 2:20pm, I also do my own work on my car so I asked if the technician can do a walk through of everything that was done oil looked nice, coolant fresh, changed my air filter, my old brake fluid was very dark and now clean, also my car is manual so got a discount since no transmission fluid was needed. I was very impressed and even got told out of all the cars there mine was the best maintained one! Definitely would come back for maintenance! read more

These guys try to sell you on the fact they're family owned and operated. Don't care. Paid $150 to find out air conditioner wasn't leaking. $150 to put dye through, recharge the system, and a system valve core & cap kit. We were told this would fix the problem. It didn't, of course. New compressor was next diagnosis. $1100. Girlfriend was told by Sean the Manager she would be refunded half of $150 back on her debit card in a few days. That was 3 weeks ago. Then took car to Findlay Kia. Girlfriend was almost screwed there, WHERE SHE BOUGHT THE CAR! See review! I took car to SuvsandTrucksRUs. New compressor was their diagnosis. $900. I received an email stating 50 percent off brake service. Front brakes (I purchased already) rotors needed to be replaced. $350 dollars. Meaning their brakes $700???!!! I told them I'll get a second opinion. I went to a different mechanic. They're are charging me $130 and was able to shave the rotors. A month ago, my car was starting and stalling when cold cranking and I had a airbag light on. I left it with Lance and when I receive it back 2 hrs later the airbag light was back on and the next day it was still doing the same thing. They had me purchase a new battery which was $350 to $400 from the bmw dealership. They replaced the headrest thinking that would solve the problem. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.. I continued to bring the car back hoping they would find the problems but a month later it's still doing the same thing and now my warranty is expired. After doing some research I took the car apart to find they didn't even notice or tell me the intake hose was split all the way and the intake was dirty which may be sticking causing it to keep dying when I crank it. I went back to tell them about it not looking for anything from them and Lance acted as if he didn't know who I was after keeping my car 3 different times for days and saying he doesn't know if the hose was split when I brought it.. I was expecting him to say that...unacceptable ! but the other guy knew exactly who I was and what was going on... I appreciated that..He wanted me to bring my car back and I was like Hell No! I wouldn't dare bring my car here again. This has to be one of the worse experiences dealing with them.. I don't know if replacing the hose or cleaning the intake but that should have been seen and I should have been informed.. read more

SCAM ALERT! Avoid at all costs! Just another auto shop looking to rip you off! We worked with JR. We were quoted $750 for an alternator and battery. $750??? They said their alternator is $330, meanwhile next door I found one at O'Reilly for $130. When asked why there's was so expensive they said they add $200 to the part for their own markup!!! I said no thanks, O'Reilly came out to the parking lot and put in a new battery for us for no additional cost and sold us the alternator. I went home, grabbed a 10mm wrench and put in my own alternator in 45 minutes watching youtube. If a non-mechanic can do a job for $275 and 45 minutes, why do these crooks need $750? I'll tell you why. It is because they are charging for not only LABOR (and way more time than necessary to do the job) but they are also MARKING UP PARTS that you can buy next door by more than DOUBLE and it is absolute robbery. read more

They r partners with Max Care for Car Max n to bring my van in takes $50 off my deductible for that alone. To bring it to car max I would have to wait a week n a half while they would take me in immediately. My battery died n needed replacing. Autozone said that I needed a new alternator so I brought it by here. They checked it out n they told me my van has no problems. Best part is it they didn't charge me for the test! Not kidding! Check engine light would come on every month or so so I kept taking it to the dealer. After 3 times I took it to Sun Auto on Rome blvd to see if the Drexel road Chevy was ripping me off. Sun Auto told me my wiring harness was fried and the parts were discontinued on my 11 yr old car. Their recommendation was to trade the car in for whatever I could get. I took it to another Chevy dealer and they did a computer update, no charge, and it's been fine ever since. Not sure how Sun Auto determined their version, but I won't be going back there to find out. It's best if you read a lot of these reviews before you go there. I got an oil change here about a month ago and they didn't tighten the bolt properly and oil leaked all over my driveway and completely ruined it so I went back and they gave me a brand new oil change. Now for the past two weeks I've been having a strange burning smell in my car and I noticed a little more oil leaking out in my garage so I decided to take my car to a different shop and they showed me that the people who had worked on my car at Sun Auto used a plastic washer instead of an aluminum washer to properly seal the oil tank which was causing the leak and the awful smell. Now I have to pay for yet another oil change within a month to get it done properly! I do not recommend coming to this business to get your car's oil changed. read more

I had a gas tank put in on my Jeep about 2 years ago and they had forgot to put a bolt back on the passenger rear side, so I had to buy one and put it in myself. Then earlier this year I had a whole new cooling system put in and they AGAIN for got to put back 3 clips for my front bumper and grill. I'm not sure if it's neglect or if they're keeping my parts but beware and be meticulous when you go to them. read more

I was very happy with the service and work done by Sun Auto...Took my Pontiac G6 in for service with a coolant leak...Devin and Shawn were very helpful and courteous. Honored all repairs needed under my Carmax warranty...an 1800 dollar repair only cost me $5 for a new oil filter..a very big relief, especially around the holidays. They replaced my worn gaskets, timing belt cover, fluids and sensors. Every time I go to these guys, I'm always happy with their service. I recently went in because my brakes felt 'soft' when coming to a stop. They did a test drive, said the brakes felt fine, checked them and determined my brakes were ok, but the brake fluid was really 'nasty'. They did a flush, put in new brake fluid and everything was fine. Any other place could have tried to give me a song and dance and charged me for an expensive brake job. These guys constantly show just how a business with principles and ethics operates. I had a few other non-safety issues that could have addressed, they could have run the bill up easily, but they assured me while I could have gotten more things done nothing was so crucial that couldn't be addressed at a more convenient time. Stay away!! I was told that my car needed a new transmission, for the value price of $3300. They even followed up, calling me two or three times to schedule the appointment to get this service done before my car explodes. I drove my car to work in Arizona, bad transmission and all, and had a local repair shop look at it: $250 later, new axle, car runs like a champion. Obviously these guys know more about cars than I do, however, because I never knew you had to take tires off of a vehicle for a standard oil change. Learn something new everyday... (sarcasm). These guys are great. I went to them with an old foreign expensive to repair car and they were honest, did not up sell me, and only fixed what needed to be fixed. The second time I came to this guys, my wife's car had brake problems. They were fast and fair priced, again.. I came in about 1 hour before they closed on a Saturday to have them inspect some brake noise that another mechanic missed. They were able to get my problem all taken care of and have me back on the road within an hour. From a tyre and oil change to yearly inspections and everything in between, these guys are great, clean garage in Las Vegas - not dodgy at all. The prices are actually quite low - I paid half to replace an original Audi tyre than I would at the dealer. Go to Sun Auto, ditch the dealer! Even after I moved from the neighborhood I still continue to bring my car there because they have always been informative, fairly priced, and trust worthy. The guys who got my car signed in and listened to my description of what was wrong were not only FUNNY but also the picture of customer service and professionalism. They took care of my car and in fact returned it a day sooner than I expected. They were knowledgeable and professional, which is what I look for at any business that I patronize.(I would mention their names but they asked me not to) Their price was fair and I did not feel that they were trying to push me into paying for things that I did not need. They simply advised me of a few items that I may want to give attention to in the future. The shop itself is clean and well cared for, unlike some I have visited during my 25 years here in the Valley. Last December I went to a auto repair shop and had new rotors and pads put on my 2010 Highlander. Almost immediately, the car would moan when I put the brakes on in reverse. I took it back to the shop and they couldn't find anything. After 11 months of moans from the rear brakes, I decided to take the car into Sun Auto Service because they were close to my house. What a great move. They found the problem and fixed it as well as some minor adjustments to the parking brake that was on its way to causing another problem. Since I had only 11 months on the pads/rotors, I asked them to box them up so I could take a look at them. Well, they were in bad shape and made me think I had been ripped off by the other shop. I had an incident on the road taking the curved ramp between I-15 North getting on to 215 West where I lost control of my car and i spun out into the rocks. Amazingly the car was still drivable, but I brought it into these guys to get it check out just in case. Devin was super helpful and polite. He kept in contact with me through the whole process and was honest about what caused him concern and what was going to be fine. He also gave me a great deal on the only thing that did snap, the OTC sensor cable I believe? AVOID THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS AT ALL COSTS!!!! They wanted to charge me $988 for a catalytic converter for a 2001 Toyota Carolla..nearly $1,700 with the installation! Thank God I found Autobahn Excellence. I was charged $350 for the converter...a little over $500 total! I hear their ads on the radio, and I cringe! I know their claims of good and honest repair are false. I should have listened to my neighbor. He had sun repair his VW Passat for more than $1200. He took it back because it was still leaking coolant. They made him wait for hours while other cars were being repaired. When he called them on it, the manager said he wanted to have the same guy the did the repair look at the car again. They were waiting for him to start work that day. He reported them but they weaseled their way out of it...which is what they do best....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! read more

Brought my daughters car in. She is a single mom with a car that won't pass smog. Told the guy at the desk what the problem was. 2 days and $1162.00 later drive the car away and within 20 miles the check engine light comes back on. Back at Sun we are told by the service writer that nothing they could do would get it to pass smog (then why the expenditure of almost 1200.00.for something that had nothing to do with passing smog)? They must have seen us coming a mile away. As I dug for more information the service writer said he wasn't going to argue with me, but asking for more information is not an argument! He stormed out and brought the manager back and when I told him what his service writer said I was told that he "mispoke" sounds like something a seasoned politician would say. The manager told me the catalytic converter (which is new) must be bad. Really? He said drive 100 miles and see what happens...no further ODB II tests? No voltage/sensor checks. I was born at night but not last night! I was told to return the catalytic converter to the place I bought it, get a replacement and they would put it in for free (a 15 minute job). 100 Mike's later no change. Would I go back to be bamboozled again? No! Do it to me once shame on you, do it to me twice shame on me! A real mechanic looked at it. The problem? A 90 dollar oxygen sensor. Writing this does not make me better but warning people off does. Make up your own mind but Caveat Emptor, buyer beware! Definitely looking into reporting them to BBB, state agencies and maybe small claims court to recover some of the costs. Hate being ripped off and being treated like I am stupid. read more
